The Hit List: New Barcelona Restaurants To Try Right Now - Barcelona - The Infatuation

"The same team behind the original Contracorrent bar in Fort Pienc has opened a new bistro in Gràcia. Expect that same great laid-back vibes and natural wine selection, but in a more stylish setting. Instead of tapas, you’ll find a tasting menu (eight courses for €32.50, 10 for €45), but not a stuffy one. Dishes are homey and funky, just like the wine, with lots of housemade fermentations, from garums to miso and pickles galore. The pulled duck with orange chutney served on an anise cracker is a lighter Mediterranean spin on Beijing Duck, while the arancino stuffed with lamb ossobuco will have you ahhing in the right places. And there isn’t a spherification in sight." - isabelle kliger, isabelle kliger, isabelle kliger, isabelle kliger, isabelle kliger, isabelle kliger, isabelle kliger, isabelle kliger, isabelle kliger

Some of the food here left a lasting impact, flavor combinations that shouldn’t make sense on paper but create some of the best tasting food I had in Barcelona. Service was friendly and they even added a glass of wine to our pairing because they saw we might’ve been drinking ahead of schedule. 100%would recommend to anyone coming to Barcelona, has to be one of my favorite meals I had as whole here and I will be coming back in the future!

The perfect neighborhood restaurant for a relaxed meal that really showcases what creativity and great sourcing can combine to do. Tasting menu format for a ridiculously low price of €35 to€48 that delivers far beyond the price tag. It’s a simple and delicious formula that’s bound to please anyone. See the menu photo for a sample and know that it will be different every night. That’s part of the fun. We loved all 8 courses. Hard to pick a a favorite. Natural wines at very reasonable prices. Be adventurous and enjoy!!! Go soon before everyone figures out what a delicious deal this place is!!

Amazing food, with tasty and unique dishes and great service. Anna was very attentive and recommended us very nice wine to have with the food. I will visit again next time I’m in Barcelona.

Hidden gem!!! Super local spot, really excellent value for the tasting menu. Wonderful wine selection as well. The chef Nico and our server Maria came by to explain every dish, all dishes are made with local ingredients that are in-season. We were the only foreigners in the place, all local folks from the neighbourhood. Every bite bursts with flavour, restaurant is super cute, and service was 10/10. Would definitely return!

Amazing place! Tasting menu, almost micheling style, but better and much more affordable! Super relaxed ambiance and the owners/staff is super friendly and helpful. Big selection of natural wines people seem to apprecite, personally I didn’t drink. Highly highly recommend, it’s really a hidden gem!

Orange wine selection is small but uninteresting. El Pagès Content is mousy and flawed. I wish there were more heavily macerated orange wines, like La Foradada de Frisach. Food is excellent for the price. 7 courses for €32.

Such a warm and welcoming reception. We were their first ever customers on a Sunday opening. The flavour combinations and their experimental approach was fabulous! Wines were paired beautifully, with a great choice of red, white and orange wines. We loved eating as if we were locals out for a special long lunch, just as we do when back home in London. Thank you!

Wow, probably my favorite restaurant of all time. The tasting menu is unreal, and the price at either 34 or 48 makes it the best value out there. Each dish was different from anything I’ve ever had before. Waiters do an amazing job making it feel special and explaining the dish and your wine options. Music was even awesome. This is an 11/10 and a must try. The kind of place where whenever they change their menu you need to go. Awesome decor as well, very cosy but also modern. Go here
