We stayed for 3 nights after completing El Camino. I dont normally write negative reviews, however, I am afraid this is one of them. This is by no means 4 star when we paid over 280 euro per night for a standard double room.
The positives are the fabulous location and the historical building within which this hotel is situated.
The drawbacks are the service and the lack of facilities in the bedroom. There are no bathrobes, coffee machine or fridge in the standard room. They will provide a kettle, ironing board and iron on request although we felt these were provided with reluctance. Additionally, our room was not cleaned until after 4pm in the afternoon on successive days. This was most inconvenient as we wanted to rest having been out since breakfast. They were only serviced on day 2 and 3 of our stay after we informed the reception staff. Even then staff were not apologetic and became very defensive. When I requested to speak to the duty manager I was told at Reception that there wasn't one availablle that day.
On the whole, we did not find the staff throughout the hotel friendly or helpful.
I submitted a formal complaint over a week ago, I still have not had a reply. This is very disappointing. I certainly will not be staying at this hotel even if it is at a much cheaper rate.
