Conversas de Alpendre is a gem on a quiet part of the Algarve. I came with my family for 6 nights and we honestly didn’t leave the property all that much because it was so wonderful and relaxing. Highlights include the heated pool, fantastic breakfasts, the most comfortable bed linens I have ever experienced in a hotel, and most of all the warm, friendly service. The nightly dinners are delicious and intimate. We also were able to participate in a wine tasting one night where they brought in a staff member from Morgado do Quintao, which was fabulous wine. A few recommendations: - Get a massage - it was relaxing and tailored to what I needed - if you’re a couple looking for a romantic getaway, this is your place, but avoid the school holiday periods. There were lots of kids here when we were here (including my two kids) and I suspect a quieter time would be more relaxing for a couple - For a family of four, our suite was big enough but a little cosy after a few days. Consider getting one of the bigger rooms if you can manage it.

We enjoyed our recent stay in the cabin room with its own plunge pool. The cabin is a great space with a lovely view and interior. The breakfast is excellent with tasty food and really welcoming staff. Food in the afternoon by the pool is superb and the chef's dinner. Conversas de Alpendre is close by to Tavira and you can also catch the daily ferry from Fabrica across to the beach (the ferry runs from April to October). It is a quite place away from the busier parts of the Algarve, we plan to return. We did upgrade from a Standard Suite, these are good rooms too but some do have a staircase to a mezzanine level, so ask when booking.

We had an excellent stay. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout our visit. Our room was well-appointed, with a very comfortable bed, nice bedding, and a lovely bathroom. Next time, we’d consider booking the Warehouse or the Cabin, as they looked worth the upgrade. We travelled without a car, as did several other guests. Tips for staying without a car: We visited at the beginning of October, in the shoulder season. Ubers were easy to find for trips into town (usually around 5–6 available nearby). In high season, availability might be more limited. We tipped our first driver in cash, and he tended to pick us up quickly for later trips. For arrival and departure we booked a transfer through Algarserra. The hotel runs a beach shuttle service, which isn’t mentioned in many reviews. The beach is about a 10-minute drive (around a 40-minute walk), and the hotel will take you there and pick you up when you’re ready. They also provide tickets for the small boat from Fábrica to the beach and can arrange sunbeds if needed. The service costs €15 return per room plus €2 per person for the boat. (As at 2025). Food: The staff recommended several local restaurants, and we tried O Tonel and Ti Maria — both were excellent and worth visiting. They can also help with reservations, which were necessary even in early October. One evening, we went into town without a booking and ended up having pizza, which was good but not our first choice. (Tip: O Tonel takes reservations via WhatsApp.) We ate at the hotel twice during our five-night stay. The food and wine were good; the set menu was around €60 each with wine about €20 a bottle. Personally, I don’t need four courses as I don't eat much but I'd still recommend having the dinner as it was fun being surprised. Overall, a lovely, relaxing stay — beautiful setting, great service, and well worth a visit.

Great hotel. Very well appointed rooms. A lot of thought went into the design and decor. The room is spacious and comfortable. The hotel is located in a rural area but it is only a 20 minute drive into Tavira, though if you just want to relax it’s an ideal spot for doing so. The food is excellent. Don’t skip having dinner there. One of our best meals in Portugal.

A Hidden Gem with Heartfelt Hospitality This hotel is an absolute delight — full of hidden charm and character. What truly sets it apart is the incredible staff who treat you like family. We had the pleasure of getting to know Marcia, Ana, and Rodrigo, among others, and their warmth made our stay unforgettable. The food was exceptional — a huge shoutout to the kitchen team for consistently delivering 10/10 meals. We also loved the unique experiences offered, like yoga and Palettes on the lawn in front of the hotel, which added a special touch to our stay. A wonderful experience from start to finish. We’ll certainly be returning!

This country hotel does not deserve the rating it receives. I had a rather small terrace room with a jacuzzi which had no proper power and the water dribbled out. The shower in the room continually emitted loud crashing and banging noises as they established on day 2 after I pointed it out was airlocked. It went on for most of the night. No apology was forthcoming and I was advised it would be looked into. Next evening the crashing and banging continued despite being told it was fixed. Again no apology. It was eventually fixed on my second evening and I managed one night's sleep. I should not have been charged for a room I could not sleep in by reason of the excessive noise and banging all night. Some form of apology should have been forthcoming.

It was a very mixed bag for us. Some outstanding moments and some not so good. The breakfast and food in general was outstanding. The chef was also very accommodating to any request made. We loved it. The outdoor area is beautiful with tons of|Character and lots of space . However with summers come kids and the pool was mostly inaccessible due to high occupation rate with youngsters. The website pictures can be a bit misleading. The jacuzzi room is tiny ( it does say 17sq meter, so my bad for missing this bit of info) and hardly has enough room to store luggage or clothes. Barely enough clearance from shower door or toilet door. . The picture shown definitely not reflecting that. It does not have the openness feel you anticipated. It also now has a structure outside the room and patio that create a sense of closeness. And forget the jacuzzi. It was blurry and not real jets. The shutters don’t close. So yes not the romantic room you may have in mind. We met some wonderful staff that would go to any length of effort to make you happy and some not so much, almost snappy. Bottom line, it was not an experience commensurate with the price paid, and would say proceed with caution.

What an amazing place. A true island of peace and quiet. Fantastic staff, so friendly and happy. This place was 100% what we needed to get some rest. Fun activities like wine tasting, incredible breakfast. An absolute must do if you want to visit this region. We stayed in The Cabin. Just WOW
