I had a wonderful moment with Ruqxana discovering the wet market, its history, the stalls and the local vegetables. Also, what a great time learning to cook "Onde onde, Poppiah and Bibik mee", there is no hurry or any stress during the workshop. I would highly recommend starting your stay in Singapore with one of Ruqxana's cooking classes. You'll get straight to the heart of the matter by visiting a local wet market and then following up with a cooking session. What an experience ! Ruqxana is delighted to help you discover her country through its cuisine. I would like to thank her for her kindness.

We had a fabulous morning learning how to cook three different dishes, then sat with the other two couples and ate our feast Ruqxana is a fabulous teacher, adapting her recipes to the taste of different cooks, all the time focusing on the technique and culture behind the cuisine. I can't recommend this experience enough, these are skills you will take home and treasure always. You also get to see a little of the real Singapore

Cookery Magic's chicken rice cooking class was a highlight of our visit to Singapore. I did the class with my husband and our daughter, 15, and it was such a fun way to learn about Singapore food culture, and get some great tips we will use at home - set in an authentic, rustic local setting. Ruk generously shares her culinary secrets and insights into the ingredients and the stories behind the dishes. It was our second Cookery Magic class, and it won't be our last. We did the Indian one on our last visit. Highly recommend this experience to anyone interested in Singapore food, cooking or just seeking something fun and different to do in Singapore.

I attend Ruqxana’s cooking classes every time I visit Singapore. I am in love with the ambiance of the beautiful house and garden, craving the authentic and delicious meals, every time looking forward to meeting this amazing woman (and her friendly cats)! This time a friend of mine had a birthday party at Cookery magic. It was a wonderful evening! Great food and a really gorgeous birthday cake! Cookery magic would be the best chioce if you are in love with Asian food and look for an authentic experience in cooking! Ruqxana is a culinary encyclopedia, her instructions are simple and easy to follow and even if you haven’t ever cooked anything different from boiled eggs, you will manage to prepare few delicious dishes at a time. And in addition, the food is served in hand made ceramics created by Ruqxana! She is a pottery artist as well. You can see her atelier with a real pottery wheel in the garden!

My partner and I attended Ruqxana’s cooking class this weekend. She was absolutely lovely, and a great teacher. It was a very special class for us as we’ve just moved to Singapore and wanted to learn to cook more locally inspired food. We made Menu 6, and it was delicious. We learned a ton about spices, cooking order/timing, temperature, and types and quality of ingredients. We practiced new techniques we can replicate at home, while also trying out the authentic prata stretching and folding! We couldn’t have hoped for a more engaging and local experience.

Ruqxana was an amazing host and teacher. My partner and I attended the Malay cooking class. It was our first time learning about Malay dishes such as beef rendang and sayur lodeh. The lesson is very hands-on, conducted in an outdoor kitchen. It was an afternoon well-spent with new knowledge, good food and friendly company. I hope to attend another of her classes again. Highly recommended - 10 gold stars.

My second time coming here for cooking class, once today and once 10 years ago :)! I really love this place and it’s my favourite cooking class. Teacher provided recipe so we could bring but home, and her home itself is eclectic and zen, she has quite a few cats who are all surprisingly polite. teacher is pretty down to earth and to be honest her chicken rice recipe tasted better than my favourite chicken rice store’s. I felt comfortable asking questions when I didn’t understand some things and she is really so passionate about cooking and she is really knowledgeable. Definitely recommend and would come back again in future

Came with a friend for a cooking class. Ruqxana was very helpful, friendly and knowledgable, giving us tips and tricks to cooking beyond the scope of the lesson. She also taught us very patiently the different methods of chopping/slicing vegetables and ingredients for beginners like us :) Definitely recommend to give it a try!
