The Best Asian Dessert Spots In SF - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Cookie Chachi is the only place in SF to find cookies made in South Asian flavors. The tiny Chinatown bakery has a tight lineup of chewy, soft-baked options, but the standout among them is the jalebi, packed with syrup-soaked shards of the crunchy Indian sweet. A fantastic backup is the cardamom and date that you'll smell long before it hits biting distance." - julia chen 1, patrick wong, ricky rodriguez

Pick any flavor—Cookie Chachi won't let you down - Review - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Since everything at Cookie Chachi is baked off-site, you won’t get that just-out-of-the-oven scent, but you will find a lineup of fantastic cookies—including flavors you won’t find anywhere else in the city. There’s the jalebi-cookie hybrid that’s flecked with shards of deep-fried and syrup-soaked dough. And the cardamom and date that you can smell a mile away with a bad head cold. With every flavor (there are seven), you’re guaranteed a cookie that’s chewy, not too sweet, and conveniently packaged in its own sleeve. The tiny Chinatown bakery is takeout only, but Portsmouth Square and its many benches are right across the street. photo credit: Patrick Wong" - Patrick Wong

Google
delicious cookies and nice staff. They have a wide variety of flavors, including the dubai chocolate, which was my favorite. Will buy them again for sure!

Google
Absolutely insane cookies!! The Dubai pistachio knafeh is unbelievable. I bought one to try a little bit after lunch and then gobbled down the entire thing, couldn't stop eating it. The crunchy knafeh added such an amazing texture. Immediately went back and bought 6 more! Highly highly recommend these insanely delicious cookies!

Love love loved my chocolate chip cookie. Perfectly buttery, balanced, and consistent texture. Tasted fresh and surpassed my expectations. Even though it’s in a plastic package, you can tell it’s made with love and not left sitting out. Perfect for someone who isn’t crazy about crispiness, chewiness, or thick type cookies. Got at SF First Thursday and will definitely check it out at the store My one critique: salespeople could be a bit more extroverted and enthusiastic - would help with the sales. The stand was super empty and out beat by another one but the price was about the same if not better, and the quality here is great. Idea for the owners: put out prices and one of each cookie outside the bag so you don’t hide the goodness!

Really nice owner. Their cookies are made from the night before and are individually sealed. Each cookie is $5.50 except for the Dubai inspired as that’s $7. If you’ve had Dubai chocolate before you will be disappointed by this cookie. I had to wonder if they packaged the wrong cookie because it just tasted like a salted chocolate chip cookie. There was no crunch from the kataifi and no taste of any pistachio cream. I also tried their cardamom and date cookie and that was good. I love cardamom and really enjoyed it.

Google
Best cookies in the bay!! The Cardamom Date Cookies are so delicious — truly a must-try. Cookie Chacchi is a must-visit, and I love how they do fun pop-ups around the Bay Area. I’ve also found their cookies at a few shops in the East Bay, which is such a treat! They’re always coming out with new flavors, and everything I’ve tried has been amazing. Highly recommended — and a huge plus is that the owners are super nice people!

Google
Don’t sleep on this cookie spot! Located at the corner of Kearny & Clay in Chinatown, Cookie Chachi has some of the best cookies I have had. Got the classic chocolate chip & Dubai pistachio Knafeh, both delicious in their own way. Love the crunchy outside & chewy inside. Service is friendly & it’s a fast casual spot that does take away orders. Planning to come back for their Jalebi & Cardamom/Date south Asian flavors!

Google
I love their Dubai chocolate cookie - it’s literally the best ever!!! Also the couple that owns this store are amazing! We ran into them at a food festival and they gave us samples of all their cookies. So happy to see an amazing cookie spot in sf (finally!)

Yelp
A Cookie Monster would definitely love the cookie brand opposite to Portsmouth Playground! But he has no idea that different ingredients Cookie Chachi made with love was clean and ecologically sourced. I been so crazy about Cookie Chachi when I got passed it as I rode a bus with my mom. So this time, I went to quickly both the Dubai Knafeh Pistachio and a can of Sinwise Farms masala chai. They perfectly pair well with each other like Middle Eastern buddies! This set of refreshments were never to disappoint and I highly likely to come back since Cookie Chachi is one of the special places near Chinatown.

Yelp
On a scale of: 1 chips ahoy 2 safeway bakery cookie 3 subway cookie 4 specialty's cafe cookie (RIP) 5 your absolute favorite local bakery cookie They are a solid 2. If you need a cookie and you are near them then they have a perfectly adequate cookie for you, for only two or three times what the safeway variety costs.

Yelp
they have south asian inspired cookies, we tried the cardamom date cookie--it was very strong in cardamom and the inside was soft but outside held up so not bad. wish they were baked fresh though

Yelp
This spot was a pain to get to in the middle of Chinatown, but my cookie did not disappoint! We got the toffee chocolate chip and it was super chewy and had the right amount of salt. They have a lot of other unique flavors as well. However, I do think 5.50 for one cookie is a little steep.

Yelp
Yummy!! My friend and I were stuck in a line getting into the Portsmouth garage across the street, I looked over and saw this cookie shop! I literally jumped out of the car and ran across the street. I got two Dubai Pistachio Knafeh cookies and omg they are so good! I'll be back for more. Bonus it's all organic ingredients and woman owned!

Yelp
This is an AMAZING cookie spot ! The nice thing about the cookies is they are individually wrapped so they will keep a bit longer and if you want a warm cookie you can pop in microwave for just 10 seconds and boom tastes like fresh from the oven ! The unique flavors are so so good .

Yelp
Definitely the best cookies in the city, specifically the Dubai pistachio one. Great service as well

Yelp
THE BEST COOKIES EVER! I tried every one of the cookies and love the unique flavors they offer, my favorites being jalebi and date & cardamom. Their chocolate chip cookie is such a classic and hits the spot whenever you need to get your cookie craving in. Love that the owner bakes in small batches to ensure freshness, which you can truly taste with every bite. The owner is so sweet and helped out with any questions we had, definitely going to be coming back for more!
