The 20 Best Dishes Eater Austin Editors Ate in 2022, Mapped

"I had a rough week, and one of the things that kept me going through it was knowing I had delicious treats from Cookie Rich in my fridge. The sweet, petite cookie sandwiches are a nice indulgence — chocolate chip with fudge icing is a comforting favorite, but I really loved the new seasonal flavors, pink chip with strawberry whip and a green cookie with Irish cream-tinged frosting. Everything about them — from the packaging to the velvety frosting — feels luxurious. —ER" - Nadia Chaudhury, Erin Russell

I am an AVID cookie lover and when I saw how unique these cookies were I knew I needed to try them. My ideal cookie is soft and a little chewy. I was a little skeptical about the texture before I tried Cookie Rich for the first time because I couldn’t fathom a cookie in this shape and form to be soft- but I was PLEASANTLY surprised! I’m dying to go back and try all of the flavors. The icing in the middle truly elevated the flavor and overall experience too. Love you cookie rich, thanks for being in Austin!

A little disappointed. It’s cute packaging, but I think that’s exactly what you are paying for. The idea of luxury cookies. They were okay. Red velvet was dry. Frosting is rich. The chocolate chip and dark chocolate fudge was very good. The birthday and sprinkle cream cheese was enjoyable, but nothing to wow about. The carrot cake tasted more like cookie dough, than cake. Overall, it was enjoyable but not worth the price. Would make a cute gift.

Google
One word: YUM! These cute little cookies are absolutely delicious without being overly sweet! Every cookie flavor I had: Red Velvet, Cookies & Cream, Oatmeal, and Turtle, were all so enjoyable. Each filling flavor perfectly compliments the cookie. My husband who rarely eats sweets said I should’ve gotten more. The lady working there was very sweet and provided professional customer service. Thank you; we will be back!

Wow, these cookies are so bad. I saw an influencer post about cookie rich and then accidentally stumbled across this cute little truck when dining at Veracruz. Don’t let the menu (and influencers) fool you. These cookies are shockingly small for the price but also so, so bad. They are clearly a frozen product and were hard as a rock and still cold in the middle of the cookie when we received them. Don’t come here. Order from Veracruz and then go anywhere else for dessert. Anywhere.

Received the red velvet cookies from Cookie Rich for my birthday! My mom lives long distance and couldn’t be here for my birthday yet wanted me to have some sort of sweets from her. She purchased these on GoldBelly and they were shipped to my door step in Corpus Christi. I was satisfied with their fast shipping and awesome packaging! Those cookies were very secure in their box, topped with thick and tight foam padding and ice packs. The cookies had no way to slide around and get damaged in the box as everything was tight fitting. Cookies arrived cold although they were shipped through this blistering summer heat in Texas. We are very impressed. I can’t wait to go back up to Austin because I’ll give this shop a visit in person. The cookies were delicious, by the way. The shapes are super cute and unique. The cream cheese middle was very creamy and sweet. The cookies are very chewy. I can’t wait to try other flavors next time

I received an assorted dozen for my birthday and WOW they are so good. Some might say the size is too small but straight up is the perfect amount for someone who isn’t needing too much for desert. The flavors are delicious and they offer such a good variety. Will highly recommend to friends, coworkers, and family!

First time I tried these cookies and I chose to try the variety pack! Definitely lots of flavors and richness into the cookies! My favorite was the apple pie! Worth the try of the new flavors!

Yelp
Cookie Rich and Goldy's are twin enterprises in the same trailer run by the same people. Cookie Rich is the cookie operation. Goldy's is the coffee and breakfast operation. Goldy's is great. Cookie Rich not so much. * * * Cookie Rich does one kind of cookie - with many variations on flavor but not format. They take a French Macaron and put a giant load of creme between the two halves. The cookie looks like it will be a mess to eat because there is way more creme than cookie. But the creme is firm and it stays where it belongs. The cookie has a tiny footprint but is very high ... So you have to open your jaw wide to fit it in. The tall narrow format makes the cookie not at all fun to eat. You have to work to get the cookie in and down. If you actually like the cookie, there is not much, so it is a fleeting pleasure. If you don't like the cookie, that is good ... because there is not much cookie to dislike. * * * I had a carrot cake and cream cheese version. I love carrot cake and cream cheese in general. This particular version did not taste like much. Worse - there was some sort of ingredient that left a bad taste in my mouth a few minutes later? Artificial flavor? Maybe. And did I mention that they charge a lot for these macarons? * * * So my Cookie Rich cookie was hard to eat, small, expensive and didn't taste good. Everything else about the cookie was great!

Yelp
I don't eat too many sweets normally, but am always willing to try anything unique. We came here for some breakfast and coffee, but I decided to order some cookies as well. I got a 4-pack of a variety of flavors. These are a bit pricey for their size, and have the flavor of cookies but is more really like a cake ball sandwiched with frosting in the middle. Very dense, only requires 2 bites to finish each one. Very tasty, the red velvet flavor stood out to me, but I always enjoy red velvet anything. These were very unique and would be great as a present, but I can't imagine myself regularly eating these due to the dense sweetness of these and also the cost.

Yelp
This place was jammin for a Sunday mid morning...the wait was around 30 minutes and we were there for one thing....cookies. Over all the set up is cool...great place to bring the kiddos since they have a small play are, covered seating (for shade, not rain)....The cookies themselves are really cool looking, and pretty dang good...they seam more cakey then cookie, still made for a great bite...but the price is tuff to swallow...12 cookies for $39 is pretty far fetched...I personally bake cookies 2-3 times a month to keep coworkers diets in check, so I know the cost of ingredients...they definitely have money tied up in packaging as its the most unique we will probably ever see...of course the GD loved them. They would make for a excellent special occasion gift for that special someone/event. We are glad we tried them, and will be back to try the coffee and settle for a 4 pack as a personal treat.

Yelp
SO CUTE!!! Like little cookie robots! Fudgey goodness with my Hazelnut almond milk cappuccino while it RAINS for the first time in ages. Don't worry, they have cute little umbrellas for that! And all the pumpkin spice to warm your soul!

Yelp
Great location at Littlefields in Tarrytown. Coffee is wonderful, cookies even better! A neighborhood go-to

Yelp
We stopped by after a walk along shoal creek, because why not undo all our exercise with some cookies! We tried a key lime pie cookie, birthday cookie, and a snicker doodle milkshake. While the cookies were very good and made in a unique shape, I'm not sure it's worth the price to me unless maybe as a gift. The milkshake, however, was delicious. Even though the size was rather small it was a perfect amount and really hit the spot on a hot day! Definitely would come back to try different flavors.

Yelp
Maybe I caught them on an off day, but service wasn't that great. I think the cookies are quite pricy for a tiny little cookie sandwich and didn't feel like the cookie itself blew me away in anyway. Perhaps it's because I got a seasonal cookie and not one that is standard tried and true. The coffee however was quite good, but again very pricy for the tiny cup that I was given. I would probably get coffee again if I needed it and was there for other reasons (like Veracruz next door), but I wouldn't actively seek it.

Yelp
The only thing that is keeping this place from getting 5 stars is the price of the cookies. $36 for 12 minute cookie sandwiches?! A bit ridiculous in my book, especially since they don't have a storefront and are run out of essentially a trailer. I think a lot of the money must go into the presentation and boxes because that was one of the nicest boxes that I've ever seen cookies packaged in. Now, that being said, I find the products here both visually and culinarily pleasing. It's such a fun concept and they are completely adorable. My nieces both loved how they were their size and loved the flavors as well. For me (a large man) each cookie was about three small bites, if only to savor them and slow myself down from devouring the entire box in one sitting. The cookies are fluffy and seem more like cakes but that does not do any harm. My favorite flavors were the Turtle and Bourbon Buttercream, Toasted Coconut and Salted Caramel, and Chocolate and Chocolate Cherry, though the be honest, there was not a bad sandwich in the bunch! Definitely give Cookie Rich a try!

Yelp
I've been ordering cookies from here since the beginning of pandemic. They now have a food truck off Lamar (opposite of pease park) where you can pick up these rich cookies or via the delivery apps. These are not your traditional cookies They are very rich and soft and I eat them like Oreo cookies eating each half separately and the eating the delicious filling in the center. If you want to try these cookies out get the 4 pack sampler. Then go big with a dozen. The packaging is also very nice.

Yelp
Get Cookie Rich or die trying. Y'all. Never have I ever. The iced coffee from @getcookierich has COOKIE MILK. It's like a liquid version of a chocolate chip cookie. I ordered a box of cookies too that I haven't opened yet but can't wait to dig into. This cute trailer also has umbrellas and mini fans to use while waiting in the Texas Heat. Go give them a try, you won't regret it!

Yelp
I was excited to try this new coffee/food truck at Littlefield's. I ordered the cookie milk iced coffee and wasn't very impressed. The coffee was too acidic for my liking. I have not tried their food yet so I'm willing to give them another shot. If you're a coffee connoisseur, this may not be the place to come.

Yelp
My friend got the cookie milk coffee and it literally almost killed her. It was quite disgusting to say the least. All this girl wanted was an afternoon pick me up, and instead she got a rotten cup of coffee. Would not recommend coming here unless you have a kink for gagging.

Yelp
My friends and I had the opportunity to sample Cookie Rich's amazing cookies at a fundraising event for Urban Roots. These are lush dessert bites that are compact with flavor. The packaging is perfect for gift giving, for parties and an every day indulgence. The dark chocolate flavor reigned supreme!

Michelle L.

Yelp
Very slow, with chatty attendants... chatting with each other while customers wait. Espresso machine was down and it still took 10 minutes for receive two small drip coffees. Sheesh. Not worth the atmosphere.

Yelp
Amazing customer service! I ordered a few large boxes for my husband to bring to work and they went above and beyond to deliver them before store hours. Thank you!! I also heard they were delicious.

Grace K.

Yelp
I ordered the 4 best seller cookies, each flavor tasted like it had freezer burn. We didn't even finish the cookies. Very disappointing for the price.

Emilyn L.

Yelp
I received a box of these little cookie sandwiches as a gift and it definitely was memorable. These are worth the price each little cookie is heaven. With a delicate and flavor bomb in each but but not too sweet it will give you a headache. I don't regret eating a whole box in one sitting.

Q K.

Yelp
Heads up to my Gluten Free friends, they are no longer offering gluten free cookies and don't know if they will again. :(

Lauren K.

Yelp
Best mini milkshakes in town!! My kids love them and i love the lattes! Everyone is happy when you come here!

Yelp
Came on a Saturday and was prepared to wait a while in line to try the famous tiktok cookies, which we did. When we got to the window the cashier seemed visibly stressed and behind her in the building I saw the owner (recognized her from social media) reprimanding one of the baristas while my partner was ordering for us. You could tell it was an uncomfortable place to work, which really rubbed us the wrong way. Coffee was nothing special and the cinnamon roll was underwhelming.

Gina G.

Yelp
I highly recommend these little morsels of deliciousness. I have been meaning to try them after seeing an article that highlighted their unique way of serving cookies. Yesterday was the day as I got a 12 pack of cookies and a 4 pack of cinnamon rolls for my mom for her birthday and this will be my go-to now for sweet gifts. They are the perfect size to indulge without committing to too much. Please go some, you won't be disappointed.
