I love the ice-cream flavours and textures - particularly the Hong Kong milk tea and Ube. My family also enjoyed the Coconut pineapple and Mango sticky pudding. It’s also a great gift to bring a pint or 4 of different flavours to someone’s home.

Google
As a long time patron, Cookiebar Scoop Shop offers a wide and rotating variety of flavors, particularly excelling at their Asian flavors. A couple of my favorites include the Pandan Coconut and Jasmine Milk Tea. I love having the opportunity to get split scoops, allowing me to try even more incredible flavors.

10/10 🔥 New flavors every time we come! Small shop, best to take to go, friendly staff. Never disappointed to drive from Walnut Creek for this ice cream. Creamy, filling, absolutely refreshing & delicious. 🍦

Google
If you’re in the East Bay and have a thing for ice cream, this is your spot. It’s where I find the most unique flavors, like Filipino Calamansi and the standout Dan Tat, which is essentially Chinese egg custard turned into ice cream. It’s perfectly buttery without being overly sweet – so good that I often treat myself to a whole pint. The Avocado flavor is another winner, reminding me of a lush avocado milkshake. Sure, there’s usually a line, but the wait is a small price to pay for these generous, well-priced scoops. With outdoor seating available, it’s a great place to unwind with a treat. Whether you’re a fellow local or just visiting, I highly recommend giving this place a try. You’ll thank me later!

There were fun flavors to try. My friend could not decide. I got lychee black tea and durian. Then she settled on Milo, like a chocolate malt. We sat outside and just watched cars go by. Service was nice and efficient.

Google
Wow! What delicious and intriguing flavors! I got the Samoas flavor with a scoop of Thin Mint. Both were savory and smooth with a great cream to milk ratio! Also, the attendant Ibrahim (I think it was) was very friendly and helped me make the right choices. He also asked if I wanted a second scoop. What a salesman! Give him a raise!

Google
Had their dan tat and milo flavor and both were incredible. It was my first time having dan tat flavored ice cream and I was impressed by how the ice cream tasted so close to an actually egg tart! There were also chunks of the crust incorporated throughout the ice cream. Look forward to stopping by the next time I'm in the area!

Google
I’m so happy they’re back on the island. Their flavors are wonderful and unique. I got the their sundae on my first visit with Match Oreo and Animal Crackers ice cream flavors. Topped with white chocolate, whipped cream, sprinkles, and a cherry. It was delicious.

Yelp
Amazing ice cream and I don't even like ice cream that much so thats saying something. I know what kind of monster doesn't like ice cream. Anyways, their flavors are amazing!! The dan tat blew my mind and is a must get. Their jasmine milk tea was very strong in the best way possible. The mango sticky rice tasted EXACTLY like mango sticky rice. They take their flavoring very seriously, a big pet peeve of mine is getting asian flavored things that taste nothing like what they are suppose to taste like or are too mild in flavor. Not here the banana oreo tasted intensely like banana in the best way possible. They have a sign that says free samples, which is very thoughtful, its nice to be able to sample all of the interesting flavors before committing. Def a favorite!

Yelp
Rarely seen flavors - many of them Asian inspired - at this cute local scoop shop. I ordered lychee black tea, Dan Tat (egg tart with flaky crust pieces) and pandan coconut (with coconut shreds). $9 for a double scoop (up to 3 flavors).

Yelp
While visiting my friend in Alameda, we were craving some dessert after dinner. She recommended Cookiebar Scoop Shop because they have unique asian inspired flavors. The shop is quite small but the line moved fast. When we got there it was pretty cold outside but when I saw all the flavors I knew it was going to be worth it even if I was freezing. I wanted to try everything on the menu because some of the flavors I've never seen before. Egg tart (one of my fav dessert!). The workers were so nice and patients to let me try whatever I wanted. Ultimately ended up going with a small scoop split flavor of pandan coconut and mango sticky rice. I love that the ice cream was not too sweet (iykyk). The mango sticky rice had chunks of sticky rice in it which made it so good and interesting. So good I had to get a pint to go. $12 for a pint or if you get 3 it's only $10. My friend got the durian, and thought it was perfect since it had a strong durian flavor. Such a gem! Can't wait to go back and try other flavors

Yelp
Our go to spot for ice cream lately. When we came in a couple of folks ahead of us but the ladies working there worked quickly. We all ordered the single cup which comes with two flavors. Ice cream is very good and their menu here is extensive. Very good options and the staff here are so friendly. The ambiance inside is very chill. Small but it works out.

Yelp
Overview: A gem in small town Alameda, unique ice cream with a focus on Asian flavors, a nice treat on Webster Street ---- Single Scoop ($6.50) - can choose 2 flavors! - I got Dan Tat (egg tart) and Durian - I really liked the Dan Tat bc I've never had it before - nice durian flavor, tastes like the ones in-stores - I chose the sugar cone (free of charge) and they also gave me a cup and a spoon so that it is easier to eat - cake cones and gluten-free sugar cones are also available ---- Notes: - service was friendly, the worker was sweet :) - gluten-free options, but no vegan options - able to try different flavors to see if you like it before you buy it - parking is a bit difficult, park in the residential areas then walk over - outside seating only - cute little shop, green themed color scheme ---- Overall: Glad to have found this local ice cream shop, reminds me how much I love Alameda for it's small businesses. Unique flavors and a must try once if you are in the area, can't wait to come back

Yelp
A very unique ice cream shop in Alameda focusing on Asian flavors! I was grabbing dinner nearby with friends, and we decided to pop by Cookiebar for some ice cream afterwards. Parking is all street parking, but it was easy to find half a block away. When we came Friday night around 8:30 pm, it wasn't crowded at all and we were able to order quickly. There were so many flavors that looked interesting, like lychee black tea or pandan coconut, but I didn't want to ask for samples of everything so I limited myself. I did sample the dan tat (egg tart) flavor because I was super curious about it. It tasted very similar to the custard filling of an egg tart, but I didn't think I'd want a whole scoop of it, so I passed. I ended up getting a single cup with 2 scoops - one of Hong Kong milk tea and one of the mango sticky rice - for $6.50. The HK milk tea flavor tasted spot on, and the mango sticky rice was super mango-y as well. The only thing I didn't like was that the mango sticky rice had some annoyingly large chunks of rice in it. But otherwise both flavors were delicious! There is no indoor seating here, though there are a couple tables outside. It's not a place to sit and slowly chat with friends but rather a place to quickly eat some ice cream and go.

Yelp
This was just one of those accidental finds that may not have been so accidental when it came to calorie consumption. Jamie W and I were having tiki libations at Forbidden Island and decided to take a walk over to Webster since we don't venture that much on this side of Alameda. We even played pinball at the Pacific Pinball Museum. All that thumb wrestling with those vintage pinball machines must've made me peckish for ice cream. I managed to finagle Jamie to enter the compact shop, and I was immediately impressed by the Asian twang of some of the flavors like Hong Kong Milk Tea, Durian, and Mango Sticky Rice. I surprised even myself and ordered the $4 Kid's Cup of Rocky Road (photo: https://yelp.to/Mh0fd59F-o). It was quite rich and creamy, so the size worked fine for me. The Asian flavors would be worth a return visit. Good to know there's ice cream beyond Tucker's and Loard's. ICE CREAM - 4 stars...pretty yummy, on the thicker side AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...compact spot with bench seating on the outside SERVICE - 4 stars...friendly TOTAL - 4 stars...nice option for your sweet tooth on Webster RELATED - Exploring Alameda? Here's my collection of places I've visited and reviewed: https://bit.ly/2Ik8mky

Yelp
They allowed me to do unlimited samples, so I tried these flavors: Mango sticky rice Dan tat (egg tart) Pandan coconut Lychee black tea Matcha oreo All were quite good and had fun textures, I like the lychee black tea since it had a strong fruity taste. In general, I've really liked the tea flavors at Cookiebar. I ultimately went for the mango sticky rice and lychee black teas as a double. Prices are pretty average for ice cream nowadays. They continue to frequently offer flavors involving ingredients that are more common in east Asian and southeast Asian cuisines.

Yelp
a cute little ice cream shop in alameda with fun, unique flavors! i love that the workers are so patient with sampling,, all the flavors sounded so good; it was hard to decide which scoops to do,, i ended up doing a single scoop on the dan tat and the jasmine milk tea. ive never seen dan tat as a flavor before, so i was really excited to try this one. it was a little bit more of a firmer/icier texture than the jasmine mt one, but i enjoyed the eggy custard taste + the little tart fixings! the jasmine mt was soft and so strong in jasmine - it was my favorite of the two. im excited to return when they have their soft serve available!

Yelp
Came to Cookiebar Scoop Shop because their ice cream menu intrigued me and we were in the area. The main flavor that pulled me in was the Dan Tat (egg tart) flavor. Located in Alameda off Lincoln and Webster, Cookiebar Scoop Shop doesn't actually serve cookies as its name might infer. Instead they serve ice cream with Asian and classic flavors. The inside is small, but cute with hints of mint green and classic black and white checkerboard flooring. My sister and I were able to sample a bunch of flavors, and the ones that stood out to us that we ended up ordering were: - Dan Tat (egg tart) - so custardy with bits of flakey pastry - Pandan Coconut - great pandan flavor and the coconut gave good texture - Cookies n Creme - this one was like an intense version of a classic cookies and cream ice cream you'd get at any other ice cream shop. It was creamy delicious, Oreo x1000. The girl who helped us was super nice and helpful too. She explained the intensity of the cookies and creme, which convinced my sister to order it. Overall great flavors, and I would definitely come back! I want to try the Banana Oreo!

Yelp
This is one of my friend's favorite ice cream places, so per her recommendation, our group of five came by after lunch on Saturday a little before 4pm (found metered parking across the street). There were only a couple of people in the shop when we arrived, and we took our time looking over their options. They had so many Asian flavors, and I ended up trying a good number of them (durian, dan tat/Chinese egg tart, Hong Kong milk tea, London fog, ube, and pandan coconut). There wasn't a single flavor I didn't enjoy, which made the process of choosing quite difficult HAHA. I finally settled on a single with durian and Hong Kong milk tea. I really appreciated how patient and helpful the lady at the counter was when I was feeling indecisive, so huge shoutout to her for providing great customer service. I would come back more often if I lived in the area, but if you're in the area, I would HIGHLY recommend trying this shop out!!

Yelp
Was in the area for the weekend and wanted to grab dessert with my friends after dinner. They suggested this spot for its Asian inspired flavors, especially the Dan Tat. I highly recommend trying it as it actually reminded me of a real egg tart, especially with the chunks of crust mixed in. They also offer other delicious flavors like Mango Sticky Rice, Pandan Coconut, and Matcha Oreo. I already know I'll be stopping by every time I'm in the area again.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday afternoon to satisfy my post-lunch sweet tooth craving. I like the variety of flavors, especially those that have an Asian spin to them (I.e. Hong Kong milk tea, dan tat, ube, etc.). My post-lunch sweet tooth craving clearly got the best of me because I took photos inside the shop, but totally blanked as soon as I got my ice cream and didn't take any photos. I ordered a single cup with matcha Oreo and ube. I wish the ube was a little less coconutty (I have found some places make ube treats with a strong coconut taste and some do with no coconut taste). The matcha Oreo was also kind of grainy, which was weird. There were two staff members working. They were nice, but not super engaged with customers from what I saw. I wish they offered a sample to try a flavor when they saw someone struggling to decide between flavors. The shop is small with no seating, so we took advantage of this and walked around the neighborhood with our ice cream. Parking is available via street parking.

Yelp
Small shop with no seats inside. Ordering was easy and able to sample the flavors. The Dan tat one was really good! Good custard flavor and not overly sweet, and there are also bits of crust mixed in with the ice cream. They didn't have pandan when I went, or Hong Kong milk tea which were the other flavors I've seen and would like to try.
google avatar

Kaelin N.

Yelp
I loved that their London Fog actually tasted like earl grey! It is on the sweeter side, though. I sampled some other flavors as well. Delightful! I love that Cookiebar spotlights on Asian flavors. Service was ok. We were the only ones there, but the worker wasn't really friendly nor rude. Just existing and doing her job.
google avatar

Kim L.

Yelp
This store is the only store I will drive 40 mins for just to get ice cream. All of the ice cream flavors are spot on! Each time I go, I HAVE to bring at least a pint home for myself and another for a friend. I know they are known for the "dan tat" flavor, which is really good but daaang the banana oreo has my heart. Unfortunately, that isn't a permanent flavor so if you see it, TRY IT!
google avatar

Sophie F.

Yelp
Stopped by Cookiebar for a sweet treat, and was not disappointed! Really awesome flavors, ended up getting the strawberry matcha and circus animal cookie (my personal favorite ice cream!!) Loved that there were very few nut options as someone with a nut allergy, made me feel safer eating ice cream here. Really great price as well. Service is the reason for the 4 star review, the scooper was not very friendly and made the experience somewhat awkward. Definitely will try this place again soon!
google avatar

Alyssa D.

Yelp
Really cute ice cream shop with unique flavors. The staffs were really nice! Came in after mini golf at SubPar on a Monday afternoon. We sampled a couple of flavors and ended up getting the London Fog & the Birthday Cake. Definitely recommend!
google avatar

Tiffany H.

Yelp
The ice cream here is creamy and the flavors are fun and robust! I was eager to sample all of their signature (South)East Asian flavors (dan tat, pandan coconut, mango sticky rice, etc) but as a durian lover, I felt all of those paled in comparison. The durian flavor was fragrant but not overpowering to the point where my husband didn't want to be near me anymore lol. Since one of our favorite places to eat dim sum in the East Bay is East Ocean across the street, this shop is our go-to dessert spot afterward!
google avatar

Hanh T.

Yelp
I'm sad they don't have cookies but the options were really delish ! Came here after dinner for dessert and I love how we can sample the flavors . The prices are reasonable as well . Now if we can only get cookies too ! I loved my biscoff option !
google avatar

Arron P.

Yelp
Came here for dessert. They are friendly and there were a variety of flavors. The ambiance is casual. I will come back to try more ice cream!
google avatar

Valentin S.

Yelp
To be honest, I wish this place could mail me pints of ice cream. Came here twice during my short stay in alameda and both times got the egg tart ice cream. It literally taste like an egg tart and even has pieces of the pastry in it. It was so good, I'm still thinking about it! We even came here near closing time and the staff was still so nice and let us try the flavors we wanted and didn't try to rush us out.
google avatar

Emily P.

Yelp
This is a late review but I love coming here for ice cream whenever I'm in Alameda, since they have some really unique flavors. They have egg tart flavored ice cream, which is a must-try since I've never seen that in other ice cream shops. Last time I came here I got the HK milk tea and egg tart ice cream, which paired together very nicely. You can ask for samples if you're having a hard time deciding which flavor to get. There's some seating outside and they have street parking since the shop is on Webster St.
google avatar

Andrew H.

Yelp
Came here on the recommendation of a friend because we love Asian-inspired flavors. I've been to many other ice cream joints that also do Asian flavors, but I think the flavors here were much more unique! I did a split scoop with the Dan Tat (Chinese Egg Tart) which had the creaminess of an egg tart with pieces of the pastry crust in the ice cream itself, and the Mango Sticky Rice. Compared to other attempts at mango sticky rice elsewhere, this one had a much deeper mango sticky rice flavor--you wouldn't even guess it was non-dairy! Overall the ice creams felt a little on the sweeter side but were still good. They also have plenty of more American-oriented flavors like Fruity Pebbles or Cotton Candy. Regardless, you won't find basic chocolate or vanilla ice cream here--all the flavors looked super interesting! I'd definitely be back to try other flavors. They do have gluten free and non-dairy options as well. The inside was pretty cute and simple, there's a decent amount of seating outside if needed--good to sit at on a cool, sunny day. Service was pretty nice as well and they let us sample plenty of flavors! Will definitely be back when in Alameda.
google avatar

Yelp
I've been coming here the last few times and the ice cream flavors have been so yummy each time! I appreciate that the flavors are mainly Asian based, ranging from Thai iced tea to Milo (a childhood favorite malt drink) to Dan tat (egg tarts). Even oolong milk tea was available too! I looove the dan tat as it has little bite sized chunks of the crusts! I loved it so much that I purchased 2 pints to bring home; one to drop off and share with a friend. The other flavors were super tasty, too. The interior is a bit small, so the line can wrap around outside when it gets busy! But the service is great and things move quick. The workers are also really nice, patient, and friendly. This ice cream shop is a must stop whenever I am in the area.
google avatar

Felinn A.

Yelp
It's been awhile since I've had an Asian inspired ice cream shop taste this good! Others are good in flavor but this one was very creamy and not icy! I was surprised to learn how many Filipino flavors there were milo and calamansi! Also not too sweet! I was bummed there weren't any cookies at the time but I'm looking forward to them serving soft serve in the future. Staff were very nice, allowed us all the free samples with our group of 6, and overall atmosphere and exterior looks colorful and fun. I still crave this flavor of egg tart, and was very happy to experience matcha Oreo for the first time as well. Hope to hit this place up again next time I'm in alameda.
google avatar

Yelp
Asian flavored ice cream... wow this place is amazing! Mango sticky rice Jasmine milk tea Dan Tat Hong Kong milk tea Lychee black tea All really solid flavors. Their more traditional ones like vanilla bean and cotton candy were a hit with the kids. Glad I don't live that close by or I'm gaining 50 lbs!
google avatar

Yelp
Finally! It only took nearly a year, but I finally got to try the Don Tat Ice Cream and I LOVE it! Usually when I'm in the area, I'm in a hurry and can't find quick parking. That's my problem. Today I got lucky and got a space right in front. And that's where I ate my two scoop cone. sitting in the parking space. Yum! She got herself a "Creamsicle" with Orange Soda and Calamasi Ice Cream, which she thoroughly enjoyed. I couldn't taste the Calamasi myself but if she's happy, I'm happy! She said that service was excellent. We'll try to get back again soon!

Yelp
Overall rating: 5/5 This ice cream shop has been raved about by good friends, so it has always been a place I wanted to try if I'm in the Alameda area. Boy, did it blow my mind! Situated near downtown, there's decent amount of street parking which can mean the walk to Cookiebar depends on how many blocks away you've parked. The interior is cute and simple and you can find some outdoor seating right out front too. Cookiebar offers many flavors of unique ice cream. Of the ones I tried, the texture was very creamy and smooth. I ordered: 1. Dan tat (5/5): WOAH! If you've ever grown up eating egg tarts, it tastes exactly just like that! Very eggy and I loved the bits of buttery crust distributed throughout the ice cream. There was also a lingering buttery aftertaste that was quite pleasant. 2. Pandan coconut (5/5): also really really good and accurate in flavor! I loved the coconut bits in the ice cream. The workers are friendly, patient, and gave samples. Overall, a highly must try! If you had to do a blind taste test to guess the flavors, I feel like Cookiebar nailed it. At least for the ones I've tried, the flavors are spot on. Now I'm looking forward to trying the other flavors!

Yelp
We were looking for a sweet treat while we were in Alameda. We checked Yelp and came across the little ice cream spot. The service was amazing, Jas (or Jaz) was so friendly. It was our 1st time there. We were able to sample different flavors along with some of her recommendations. We ended up ordering Milo, Cookies 'n Cream and Circus Animal Cookie. They were all delish! The place had some out side seating and the inside was cute. Next tine I think I'm going to get the Mango Sticky rice. We will be back!

Yelp
So happy they opened a location again the scoop shop was always hopping from one location to another. With very cool flavors that changes often it is always worth a visit to get some great ice cream.
google avatar

Michelle B.

Yelp
The dan tat ice cream is worth the drive from the peninsula! There's flaky Dan tat crust churned into the ice cream and the ice cream tastes exactly like an egg tart. Lines can get long and the shop is fairly small. There's a bunch of unique flavors so make sure to sample a few before deciding. We also got the Milo toffee flavor which I thought was good.
google avatar

Ashley S.

Yelp
this little ice cream shop has a great variety of asian inspired ice cream flavors!! the dan tat flavor really stood out to me, so i got this and the strawberry oreo flavor. i like how you can do two flavors with a single, and they also let you sample the flavors! while parking can be a little difficult to find since it's all street parking, i think it's worth the trip for the fun and novel flavors!
google avatar

KC C.

Yelp
Great local ice cream shop with unique flavors like animal cookie ice cream. You won't find your traditional ice cream flavor like cookies and cream here. I tried the animal cookie ice cream flavor and it was delicious. One scoop was on the higher end in my opinion. But if you like the flavors then the price is worth it. The customer service experience wasn't so great and perhaps it wasn't a good day for them. Cute decor inside and great location!
google avatar

Karen T.

Yelp
I went for Dan tat and mango sticky rice. I loved the mango sticky rice so much I went back the next day to buy a pint to bring back home to sf. To the manager, you guys should really have pre packaged pints, making your employees scoop multiple pints at a time is horrible! I felt bad for the kid the whole time he was struggling to scoop two pints! And it holds up your line. They can injure their wrists doing that, hope you have good worker's compensation insurance Then I found a surprise hair in my pint

Yelp
1608 Webster St Alameda, CA 94501 (Alameda West End) It was Wednesday evening around 8pm. It was about 50*F, with a chilly breeze along Alameda's Webster Street. What's this all mean? It means there's a good chance there's no line at the Cookiebar Ice Cream Shop! So I step inside the small shop, and I'm greeted immediately. There's two young ladies ahead of me, and I have no problem waiting. This location used to be a donut shop. I look over the flavors, and decided I want to try their fruity flavors. I ask for two scoops in a cup of Strawberry Oreo and Coconut Pineapple. The posted price is $7.50. That price is fair for premium custom made ice cream. It's about the same at Baskin-Robbins. The difference is the scoop size and quality of the ice cream. Also, how was your experience here? That's why we write Yelp reviews! The ice cream is good and delicious. It's has a creamy texture with no after taste. It retains its cold consistency. Ice cream is a comfort food, it makes you feel good. The shop is small with no indoor seating. There's some seats outside. It's a takeout type place for premium ice cream. Street parking. There's a public lot 1 block away behind the Pinball Museum.

Yelp
I'm always in this neighborhood when I bring our fur baby to the groomer. I was in the mood for ice cream and with the help of Yelp found Cookiebar just a block away. They had exotic flavors like durian but I chose ube. The nice person working there told me it's been a month since they had this flavor back and I'm sure glad I got it. I'll definitely be back:)
google avatar

Brandon W.

Yelp
Great ice cream. In the past I tried the black sesame and Thai tea. Thai tea was more like a decadent version of the drink, and the black sesame was fantastic. The flavor you expected andn the right sweetness. Presently tried the Pandan coconut and strawberry oreo. The scooper was also nice enought to ask which flavor should be on the bottom of a double scoop. This was the stronger strawberry oreo. Because if you left the pandan coconut, it would easily be overpowered by the stronger strawberry flavor. When I arrived after 8:30, the Don Tat flavor was all out. So I will have to return for Don tat, durian and banana oreo!
google avatar

Felicia L.

Yelp
Love the delicious and unique flavors here! My favorite is definitely either the mango sticky rice or egg tart ice cream. They taste just like the real thing and I love that there are actual mango bits and egg tart in the ice cream. We love getting pints here to share and keep in our freezer. The staff is friendly and the prices are fair for the Bay Area in my opinion. The store itself is also decorated beautifully and the vibes are great.
google avatar

Lauren C.

Yelp
Favorite ice cream shop in Alameda. Good variety of Asian flavors-the black sesame and daan tat are my favorite. The black sesame is rich with a bold sesame flavor while the daan tat has an eggy flavor with flaky crust chunks. They also serve split scoops. I only wish they had waffle cones as their only cone options are cake and sugar cone. There isn't much seating-only a small bench infront, but it's easy to grab as to-go and walk along Webster.
google avatar

Karena K.

Yelp
Solid ice cream place with Asian flavors! The flavors are very prominent (in a good way). The worker was very patient with me as there were so many good flavors I wanted to try. Loved the lychee black tea and London fog! Highly recommend :)
google avatar

Michelle Z.

Yelp
Amazing staff with cool flavors to choose from. I need more blueberry pancake please this flavor is so good.
google avatar

Bella F.

Yelp
Got the strawberry matcha flavor, the strawberry is fresh and natural tasting, the matcha has a light flavor that tastes also just like matcha. I also got some samples and the highlights of that were the biscoff ice cream and egg tart ice cream. Portion sizes are on the large side, and prices were good (two single scoops and a double scoop for $20). Would go back
google avatar

Melissa L.

Yelp
I was surprised the dan tat had the crust in it! Loved that there was texture. Also tried the Milo .. it was spot on!
google avatar

Yelp
Love the unique flavors. I went in with Biscoff in mind. It's not on the current menu. I opted for strawberry Oreo, Luna & Bowie enjoyed whipped cream pup cups.

Yelp
My husband and I are huge fans of cookiebar scoop shop ice cream, ever since we first heard about them at Yelp event years and years ago. So when it came to choosing a local ice cream vendor to cater for our wedding day, we knew to go to cookiebar first. Placing our order was super easy. From their website, we were able to inquire via email. We gave them our date, our flavor choices (minimum 25 pcs per flavor), and decided on which catering style worked best for us. We could choose for them to be there onsite with the catering cart, for them to drop off the cart, or for them to just drop off the ice cream. We opted to just have them drop off the ice cream. You can even choose to have them create personalized labels for you if you want to go the extra mile! The only minor inconvenience was that they don't have a phone number for the public. We could only contact them via email, which wasn't super helpful for talking through questions or for giving to our coordinators. Outside of catering, I also wish they had a phone number available so we could call in to the check what flavors are available in the store that day since they often rotate flavors. Besides the catering, we love visiting cookiebar scoop shop whenever we're craving ice cream while in alameda. Even on rainy days! The shop is small so it's definitely more of a grab and go space. We typically go later in the evening as an after dinner dessert so we hardly encounter long lines. But when we have, the line moves quickly and their staff is so patient, even if there are many flavors that you want to try. Some favorite flavors I recommend: banana oreo, strawberry oreo, mango sticky rice, and circus animal cookie - all winning choices!

Yelp
Jaz helped us today! She's super helpful and friendly! I love how Cookiebar hires local students! The don tot which is egg tart is my favorite flavor. I stopped by after the farmer's market today and it was such a treat! I'm always pleased to meet the young students who are supporting their educational endeavors working here. The shop feels like an ice cream shop and they cater too! The flavors vary from egg tart to tea milk tea and everything in between!! Definitely my favorite ice cream shop in Alameda for its unique flavors where I can't get anywhere else!! It's a small shop but with lots of character!! Thanks Cookiebar for always supporting the community by hiring local kids and serving the best scoops!

Yelp
Cookiebar Scoop Shop is cute and dainty ice cream parlor with some absolutely incredible and unique ice cream flavors! We loved that they had very Asian-forward flavors, so unlike any other ice cream place we've been to. Everything sounded so good, we couldn't decide on what to get! So you know we had to sample pretty much almost every flavor lol. We ended up getting these three: + Dan Tat (egg tart) -- Probably one of the best ice creams I have ever eaten, 10/10. + Matcha Oreo -- That classic oreo flavor with the creaminess and kick of caffeine from the match, 8.5/10. + Banana Oreo -- The hubby got this one and he enjoyed it a lot! 8/10. Honorable mentions include: Mango sticky rice (10/10), and Hong Kong Milk Tea (8/10). We appreciated the service from the young men working that day. We asked to try a lot of the flavors, and they were so patient with us. Not much seating area besides a bench right outside the shop and a few barstools along the sidewalk. Still, such a cute place to get yummy ice cream and snap a few pics! Will be returning here soon for my dan tat and mango sticky rice fix!

Yelp
Amazing! A party member brought four different Asian-inspired flavors from here to a party, and they were so good and spot on. Four flavors we tried: dan tat, lychee black tea, durian, and ube. Aside from the ube, I tried all the other ones, and oh my goodness, they were all so good. It was hard to pick a favorite. I think it would really come down to what you're in the mood for. The tea flavor came through the lychee black tea; the durian flavor was subtle, yet creamy without the notorious smell it's known for; and the dan tat had bits of tart mixed into it's egg custardy goodness. I am most definitely a fan!
