How Resy Won the Reservation Wars in New York City - Eater NY

"Those restrictions have mostly faded away, but reservation-heavy dining rooms, including the one at Cool World, have stuck around." - Luke Fortney

So I basically died and woke up in 80’s heaven 😍 This by far is one of the coolest concepts for a boutique and I am so glad to have stumbled upon it during my most recent visit to the Gordon Square Arts District! Unique vintage finds. Quirky, disco-centric accessories and overall a cool place to shop. The person working that day was polite and knowledgeable and I already know that this was not my last time shopping at cool world! 10/10 recommend stopping in if you’re in the area!

So I'm from NY visiting Cleveland, and I can safely say I've been to many cute stores in my time but Cool World is the best store I've ever been to. It felt like I was entering a store that I imagined in a dream. The selection of vintage clothes and accessories were ELITE. It was like walking through an art museum that just got better and better as I went through. You could probably spend several hours in here. Also, there is a slide inside so that speaks for itself. And most importantly PRICES WERE REASONABLE! That's something you never get in NY. Incredible store honestly a must if you're visiting Cleveland!!

One of my favourite places in the whole world! I moved to Cleveland last winter and felt at home immediately here. Everything is here, and it's like stepping into a work of art that slowly reveals itself, but you are able to take some of it home with you! I always find something here, not just for myself, but also for my five-year old daughter. There is always something fresh and more that I have to leave behind for next time, which is likely to be passed again as there will be something even newer and more exciting that next time ( have been known to come in on a weekly basis). It's all unique and it's all quality, and I cherish everything I own from Cool World. In all my travels, people are always asking where I got the items I've bought there and I'm proud to tell them where. I have seldom seen the kind of excitement that people show when they are gifted a Cool World original. It's worth the trip. Do not pass through Cleveland without a stop here!

I went down about a month or two ago. I chatted with the owner she was an absolute sweet heart. She shared her nostalgia and enthusiasm with a little tv playing VHS in the background. The entire sore was painted by the owner and the collection of vintage items is well picked. I am so grateful that a creative space like this opened up in Cleveland.

The store is basically a thrift store. It has a pretty neat setup but is not a Japanese stationery store, as it only has a single stand of notebooks and pens. Edit: I was expecting a stationery store as Google described it, but the section with the stationery was only a single stand compared to the rooms filled with used clothes and knick-knacks. There's no other stationery store in Cleveland because this is Ohio, and it has a minimal variety, so I'm not understanding why the comparison. I'm not sure what the purpose of being defensive with any reviewer who doesn't give you a 5-star is but that speaks more volume about the management than the reviews.

A genuinely unique perspective in Cleveland - exactly what this city's independent retail scene needed. It's clear they are passionate about their products. Who doesn't love an offering of gorgeous notebooks?

So much fun, unique, and kitschy stuff! A delightful experience of nostalgia and discovering something for the first time. Highly recommend stopping in!

This is the most aesthetically pleasing store I've ever been in! I love it so much. If you love '80s-'90s nostalgia and design you NEED to go, if only to look. Great place for selfies - check out all the neon and the giant Tears for Fears mural! A mix of new and used clothing, accessories, jewelry, home decor, and assorted trinkets. It also has a cool selection of stationery for you journalers and notebook fiends as well. Oh and the owner (I think - the lovely person who is usually working) is super kind and always compliments me on what I'm wearing.

Yelp
This is an amazing Japanese stationery store plus gift shop. You can find very unique items here from vintage clothing, funky and quirky things, tea cups, jewelry, etc. I finally visited in December 2023 where I met the owner, Haley Himiko (I forgot her last name). She was very nice and explained how her grandmother is Japanese; hence, why the store has some Japanese notebooks. She also told me about Kinokuniya bookstore in NYC and J-Avenue in Columbus, Ohio which sell Japanese stationery and books. I bought 2 Midori notebooks as a Christmas gift for my sister: the B6 Slim Blank for $13 and the larger notebook, the A5 Blank for $15. I also bought a pretty cool looking picture frame for my parents for Christmas - it is also a clock for $42 which is a great price for such a unique piece of art. I highly recommend that you visit Cool World store if you are looking for a Christmas gift, birthday gift, or you just want to browse and maybe purchase something for yourself. I can't wait to come back to buy some Japanese stationery for myself. **** - 98/150 total reviews in 2023 - 649 total overall Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 20 December 2023
