Google
The atmosphere was great and not crowded. The food was excellent, and all of the hosts were great people, including the butcher Jason! I had the 18 oz ribeye medium well, and it was very tasty!! Melt in my mouth, well seasoned steak, and to top it off, Jason served us smoked peach cobbler. Now I'm from Southern Georgia, and I've never heard of it before. It most certainly was a treat it was creamy, smokey, hot, and very delicious! Dallas, Texas, I love yall and will be back in the future. Kevin T.

Google
This place is beautiful, good is decadent, and service immaculate! Karen, our waitress, was like a family member to us. This was a great pre-mother day dinner.

Google
Stop what you’re doing and RUN to this place for dinner. Stephanie and Melissa were top notch when it comes to service and made us feel so welcomed. Completely casual here - no dress code! The concept of a butcher market and steakhouse make so much sense. We met Jason, the butcher and head chef, and he explained to us the care he takes with selecting the meat they process. And it shows! This was one of the best meals we ever had and we can’t wait to come back.

Google
We had a fabulous dinner at Coopers Meat Market in Dallas. Our ribeye and filets were some of the best quality steaks in this quait neighborhood gem. The service, atmosphere and cuisine were top notch, I will be back soon!

James Warner

Google
One of the best meals I’ve ever had. Stephanie and Melissa took great care of us and Jason came out to meet us and explain the care he takes in selecting the meat they process and serve. From apps to steak, this places is incredible. We can’t wait to come back!

First time coming to this business, and will not do it again. First we were greeted like we were a disturbance. We even shared with them it was our first time there. We ordered a point of their hamburger Pattie’s and one of their spicy twice baked potatoes. We got home, opened it so we can cook our dinner. We saw there was some spoilage on the potato, and the hamburger Pattie’s smelled sour and a nasty odor once we inspected it closely. Never going again.

Google
What an absolutely amazing steakhouse. Spent my birthday there tonight. Our server was Karen. She was wonderful. Made suggestions and hit the mark. We started with the bbq deviled eggs with brisket and also the steak tartare. Presentations and taste were a 10. For dinner I had the Ribeye and was cooked a perfect medium rare and the char made it the best steak I ever had. My husband had the ribs and were very tender and had the prefect amount of smoke. For sides we had the brussel sprouts - amazing and fries. For me only, they only offer beer and a great wine list. I’m a bourbon drinker. They offer a wide selection of prepared foods to go also. We will definitely be back. Thank you Coopers

Bruce Bailey

Google
Coopers was excellent. I wanted a steak and didn't want to pay 100 for it. They had a high end meat counter that made me wish they were in Myrtle Beach. I had filet asparagus cheese cake and a bottle of Toppo Chico (odd thought, when you go to Mexico they said don't drink the water, but here I can enjoy an excellent mineral fizzy water from Mexico...) The waiter was fantastic and even charged my phone (which was dieing). Food was 75 so with 25 tip I got my whole meal for price google was indicating was for just the steak at other eateries.

Yelp
Has a sign saying it is closed until further notice. Waste of time trying to find it.

Ken P.

Yelp
I would recommend the business to put up a sign or song or yell or a notice on your website saying that you had a buy out or reservations only. To arrive and be told you can't be waited on or it's best to go somewhere else is a little off putting.

Carpe D.

Yelp
Dinner reservations and area is quite nice but still the Worst service EVER!. We used to live in the area a year ago and I think they changed staff because it's not the same place at all. Meat market area is nice but we will not be back.

Lara B.

Yelp
When someone places an order for the meat market, there is a reasonable expectation that the order would be ready at the agreed to date and time. Or we would be contacted if they cannot fulfill the order We placed an order for a dinner party we were hosting a few weeks ago. Pickup on that Friday Arrived and the place was closed with just a little sign on the door They had our info from when we placed the order but didn't bother to contact us. Really poor customer service imo. Will not use them again

Susan S.

Yelp
I enjoyed the burger with a side salad for our business lunch. The burger was excellent quality, although I would have enjoyed more condiments, such as some ketchup, salt & pepper. Everything was great, but this would help me tweak things to my tastes. Because of our meeting, I didn't have the chance to ask for them and they weren't readily available. The side salad was super tasty and I plan to return, for a full serving of that! We added the starter of deviled eggs that were amazing with a tiny taste of bbq and also a pickled onion. I definitely plan to return and next time may purchase some of the casseroles or meats from the butcher for home!

Mark J.

Yelp
One of my new favorites. This place is not big but the food and service are great. I loved the truffle fries, pimento cheese, and the akaushi filet. I will be back again and again.

Amy W.

Yelp
Have been wanting to try this place. It is a meat market that also serves high end (meaty) meals. It was pouring down rain and we met some friends for lunch on a Friday - we were the only ones in the restaurant the entire time.  Our server was a doll.  My man & I split the steak sandwich and some mac and cheese. Our friend got the burger - which we were gonna order and changed our minds last minute - should have gone for the burger. The steak sandwich was fine, but made with filet slices - so not super meaty tasting. The mac and cheese was super creamy and delish, a nice portion too. Want to go back for dinner and order the pork chop.

Deb B.

Yelp
Today wanted to go to CiboDivino for late lunch, but they were closed for the Fourth of July. So we found that Coopers was open. We had the best experience! I had the French Dip Sandwich and my date had the Grilled Chicken Sandwich. The French Dip was the best I've ever eaten, and I've had a few! Our server, Paula, was by herself and busted butt taking care of all tables by herself! She was pleasant and engaging even though she was very busy! There was so much food, we had two to-go boxes to take home! Highly recommend for casual dining! Paula will take good care of you!

Jose S.

Yelp
Started with the devil eggs which were very delicious, came out in a very timely manner. The akaushi ribeye was good however a lil bit on the heavy side with the salt. Bbq ribs were good , but really expected more out of the steak . Will give it another try soon .

Rue N.

Yelp
Went to Coopers last night for dinner because I've been in the mood for a ribeye for a couple weeks. It was Monday early evening, so quiet with only one other diner besides myself. I ordered the BBQ deviled eggs starter, a 20 oz choice ribeye and side of garlicky spinach and tomatoes. Deviled eggs were yum, and the spinach side was the best side I've had at Coopers! I'd come back just for that. My steak was a little disappointing because it was misfired and brought out rare when I asked for medium. My server Brionna was great, once I showed her the interior she took it back to cook some more but it was still closer to medium rare than medium when it came out again. That said, steak was well seasoned and had good sear just to bloody for me.

Raycham B.

Yelp
I almost didn't want to write a review because I don't want it to get too busy, but it was just so amazing! Chef Nealy has perfected his craft! The food was 10/10 with an intimate seating arrangement. Definitely recommend!

Taylor G.

Yelp
A client of mine recommended me to try Coopers. Had it for lunch today absolutely amazing. I got the western burger . One of the best burgers I've ever had.

don j.

Yelp
Came in for dinner and couldn't be more disappointed. We got the filet and the Akaushi filet to compare the difference and I am %100 certain that it's the EXACT same cut of meat. Crab cake was so salty I couldn't even finish it. They used to have really great service and staff not sure what happened but it's gone downhill.

E. Y.

Yelp
We came in for dinner. This place is so neat and cool. The butcher is very knowledgeable. We had stakes, the smoked chicken and mahi mahi. Everything was top notch! Service is friendly and fast. The smoked cobbler for dessert is a must!!

Becky D.

Yelp
It's always food and love that is most important. I ordered steak tartar. Super impressed

Torri H.

Yelp
I went here for my birthday and I had a good time. The ambiance is lowkey and unpretentious, yet you can tell that a lot of thought went into making the space a top notch butcher shop and good restaurant. To be honest, it wasn't the best steak I've had but I enjoyed the steak for what it was. The wait staff was good as well and he made me and my gf laugh on multiple occasions.

Larry P.

Yelp
Went in for a suitable cut for a pot roadt. Sold me a cut of meat that they SAID would make a good pot roast... WRONG! It was terrible. Cooper's, if you dont have the "right" cut of meat, just say that! You're doing no one a favor here! L~

Lucy L.

Yelp
Enjoyed a late lunch here with my wife. Steak cooked to perfection, macaroni, Brussels sprouts are a must try!

DiAndra H.

Yelp
First time at this hidden gem and I really enjoyed myself. We were greeted by Jonathan who was so kinda and energetic. He broke down both menus ( holiday and regular ) and let us know we had any questions he definitely had answers. After a few minutes Ms.Paula came from the back ( sweetheart) we decided to stay for lunch and relax a little. Ms.Paula was prompt, entertaining and had a smile on her face the entire time . We will be back to see you Ms.Paula. I had the Coopers Steakhouse Burger medium well with sweet potato fries. Would recommend and I will be back to explore the rest of the menu. They also have a market side which is a must try. You will not be disappointed!!!

Amy L.

Yelp
Wow! Where to begin! We are visiting from Washington State & my husband picked this restaurant randomly from Yelp! Great choice! Stephanie was our server and she was wonderful, friendly and just fabulous! The food was stellar. I had the Akaushi Filet w/grilled shrimp and garlic whipped potatoes. My husband had the Akaushi ribeye w/ loaded baked potato. Oh & our appetizer was the bbq brisket deviled eggs. I didn't get pictures because we couldn't stop eating! We left very full & very happy

Adam A.

Yelp
Great service and excellent cuts of meat. They also have a good selection of wine to compliment your meal

Anthony A.

Yelp
The only reason I am not giving this restaurant 5 stars was the time it took to get one of the Best steaks I have ever had. This is my second time patronizing this spot and I had reservations that put me outside but it was well over 100 degrees so I choose to sit at the bar. The bartender was Very nice and very attentive. He recommended a great wine wine and we drink ate deviled eggs, ceasear salad and watched MMA on TV. An hour passed when I realized by steak had not come out and it when it finally did come out it was the wrong cut and wrong cooking temp but the taste of the NY Strip was so good that I purchased a few steaks to go home and the seasoning. Also my sides came out late but hey when someone cooks a steak 10 stars you can forgive them for some of the other issues that occurred. Definitely will return.

Dashea F.

Yelp
Couldn't say enough amazing things about the place. It's just ALL AMAZING!!! Cute ambiance. Owner is very nice and accommodating. The technique they use to cook their steaks is well worth the wait! My husband is VEEY picky about his steaks and Al Biernats is is favorite. But, he did say is is very comparable if not better.

Elle L.

Yelp
Went for a birthday steak and had a great Experience! Waitstaff was sweet, efficient, and friendly. We tried the deviled eggs for an appetizer (definitely reccomend them). I ordered the crispy airline chicken breast with spinach and carrot ribbons - the flavors were delicious together and went even better with a scoop of the mashed potatoes. Husband got the Akaushi Ribeye - he loved it!!! It was beautifully cooked - seared on the outside and melty on the inside. We tried the family style asparagus and the mashed potatoes for sides - big fan of the mash, asparagus was a little underdone but the flavor was nice. Only sad thing is the chairs! Hard hard wood seats for the bench too. Both of our bottoms were a lot our numb after dinner

Cole W.

Yelp
I really like the smoke bacon they have a great selection of meats. I just had a horrible experience customer service wise. I along with another lady walked into the store. I walked in first and held the door open for her to come in as well. The employee ask can I help you ? Considering I was first in the door I ask for a 1lb of bacon. He then says who was first ? As if I did not place an order. The lady says she was first. I then said that's interesting considering I was in the middle of placing an order. I will not be returning to Coopers. Just to note I am a black female the other lady was of English decent.

Jennifer Y.

Yelp
WOW - have I been hiding under a rock?!? To all meat lovers as myself out there, Cooper's is the place to be. Cut to order to-go or while dining there. Beef, Pork, and, you name it, the highest quality of seasonal meat is all that they carry and sell. They also have wine, seafood, and condiments available for purchase. With me, it's all about the red meat that I limit myself to once a week. This is where I'll shop from now on. Oh, I found Wagyu and Black Angus Beef Dogs here also - yea, so happy! CHEERS!

Krystle K.

Yelp
What an experience!! We went for dinner tonight and had a fantastic dinner! Deviled eggs, followed by a wedge salad that was so fresh and delicious, a filet that was so flavorful and garlic mash, Mac and cheese and Brussels that were perfectly cooked and crispy. Our server Paula was excellent and everything about this meal was delicious!!! Highly recommend!

Just_Julia O.

Yelp
For my bday my turn to pick a dinner place. I've wanted to come here for so long and never got around to it... let me start off by saying OMG!!! it's was absolutely wonderful. We started off with ceasar salad each. The Mr. got his New York Steak, and I picked the Ribeye steak. Our server, Stefanie, was an incredibly perfectly beautiful lady with the most welcoming vibes. All the staff are awesome, Joel, Julio as well. Thank you all for a wonderful bday evening. And the Mr. likes it so much, he said right off that's the best steak I've ever had, and we are definitely coming back. yummy yummy. If you haven't been, you need to and let Stefanie show you how incredible your visit will be we had to take leftovers bcuz we couldn't finish our food

Jeremy W.

Yelp
Had an amazing time! Amazing staff and food at a great price. Will definitely come back for their ribeye.

Jason L.

Yelp
Was here in Dallas from NY for a business trip and the first thing I did was hop on Eater and start looking up Steak Houses. Ended up spinning off into a full on steak tour being able to dine at houses like Bob's, Al Biernat's, Pappas Bros. Despite their steaks being top notch and blowing away NY steakhouses out of the water, Coopers was by far my most memorable dining experience here. For my final night I was looking for a casual steak house with good vibes after a slew of client dinners. I stumbled upon Coopers and decided to take the leap. Walked into Coopers and immediately was greeted with a warm smile and they sat me at the bar promptly on a bustling Saturday night. My server for the night Naim was very attentive and had great banter. Being out of town I was slightly hooded eating alone, however he was quick to break the ice and opened up the friendly atmosphere of the restaurant. Top level service and best i've had in Dallas. NY servers take notes. I ordered a classic Akaushi Ribeye and a side of mashed potatoes. I was confident I would be jaded by the steak dinners from the previous nights, however the combination of surreal marbling while still having a meaty flavor made this the best steak I've had in Dallas. The combination of amazing service and memorable food made Coopers a dining destination worth a trip. Looking forward to coming back soon to try some other cuts and catch up with Naim.

Eden S.

Yelp
One of the best casual dining experiences ever! After trying to find a spot to eat while in town, I stumbled across this place and so glad I did! THIS IS A HIDDEN GEM! Service was 5 star which matched the 5 star cuisine! There was a deli style Counter to get stellar cuts of meat with an intimate style seating. Love the experience from Start to finish! When back in town, I'll definitely be back! The steak...... phenomenal cut. Not one part of the experience was disappointing! Please do yourself a service and check it out!

Jordan F.

Yelp
Some of the best food we have ever eaten and reasonably priced! Nice atmosphere and service! Celebrated several of the most important moments of my life so far here.

Tenaya J.

Yelp
It took 10 min to get a menu (which ended up being a QR code so I basically could've googled the menu to begin with). Waiter came 2 min after wards so I was not ready. Took him another 30 min to come back! No offer of bread, appetizer, or drink. Did I mention he came near my table multiple times but just never made it over to me . I finally order but still do not have silverware. My filet comes out undercooked. Asparagus were very heavily peppered. And still no bread. Waiter said they were busy but I saw many empty tables. And again, you made your way to my neighborhood but just not to me.

Christine L.

Yelp
We went to celebrate my birthday, first time trying this spot and it was a hit! Fun vibe, informal but nice. The food was amazing, the filet was perfection and the Mac and cheese was heavenly. Our waiter Julio was incredibly friendly and welcoming, he suggested a wonderful wine to pair with the meal. He was extremely attentive throughout the night, had great suggestions without trying to upsell. We will be back for sure!

Jen D.

Yelp
Came here for a Christmas dinner for my fellow co-workers and we were not disappointed. The dinner was amazing. The service was amazing. We had drinks (pointsettias-cranberry mimosas), wine, and family style sides with our entrees. The food was very tasty and satisfying. The desserts were amazing too. The bread pudding was to die for. And I ain't gonna lie, I split the bread pudding with friends and had my own key lime pie. It was all so delicious!! Will come back again for sure.

David J.

Yelp
Cooper's is not a regular steakhouse. No valet out front, no white table cloths, no $10,000 chandeliers, and no white gloved posh waiters... but don't let that fool you. Hiding behind this humble facade is a very serious gourmet steakhouse/restaurant with maybe (no actually) the best steaks in town. Seriously. My early Saturday evening experience was casual and relaxed. As I was seated customers were still placing orders at the Cooper's butcher counter 20 feet away, and a twenty something was finishing his burger, with fries drenched in ketchup. (Yeah, it's def a down-home, no jacket required, rustic kind of place). But for myself? ... I went to the bottom of the menu and ordered their Akaushi American 8oz. Kobe, a side of grilled mushrooms, and a glass of South American red wine. The steak and mushrooms were perfectly cooked, nicely presented, and tasted... well... amazing! The service was prompt, very professional, and non-intrusive. Don't miss this little jewel of a restaurant. Best steaks in Dallas. No really.

Katie G.

Yelp
The staff was very personable and the food was delicious! The B.B.Q. deviled eggs were unbelievably good. I'm already excited to go back!

Brian B.

Yelp
Way too swanky for out of towners. When I went in all the socialites weren't even eating food. Maybe 2 waiting staff wandering around. We apparently smelled like no money so were sat near the entrance. Maybe we just aren't the type to "dine" there.

Demi N.

Yelp
Great causal spot! I ordered a ribeye & my gf got a New York strip, along with Mac n cheese & garlic whipped potatoes for our sides. The sides are served family style. I wish my steak would have been a little more rare but I still enjoyed it! Don't miss out on the Mac & cheese, it is bomb! Upon arriving all the staff were polite and our waiter was great! I like that they offer you a giant topo Chico as a water option. The place is smaller than I anticipated with only a small amount of indoor tables, some outdoor tables & a bar area but understandable with it being combo with their meat market. If going during the weekend, with the limited seating you should probably make reservations.

Mercedes G.

Yelp
We got stuck in traffic and the restaurant said if we were going to be more than 15 mins late to give them a call. We called the restaurant and they said it was totally fine and for us it wouldn't had been a problem if they said no they couldn't because we had a back up plan Incase. So we get get there and had to speak to 3 different people because they said since we were late they could not sit us until 10 mins later someone else came out and said "sorry miscommunication, but we are running behind schedule on all reservations so it will be 20 minutes to be seated" which with that I don't know why they gave us a hard time about our reservation anyway. 40 mins passed and we finally got seated. It took about 30 mins after each course for them to bring out the next one. People that showed up maybe 20-30 mins after us had already gotten their 3rd course as we were still waiting on our second one. I asked for a refill on my coke during my main meal (which my potatoes were still hard I couldn't cut it with a fork)and got it right before we were leaving and he opened it so I still had to pay for it. We finally got our 4th course which was dessert and I ordered the chocolate cake with strawberry purée, and all I got was a dried chocolate cake no purée on top by the way and it tasted dry, stale and left out. I took two bites and made my boyfriend try it so that I knew it wasn't just me. we got there at 7:25pm and left at 11pm. I was really disappointed and the price was not worth the experience $275 plus a tip.

Ka M.

Yelp
We came for dinner on a Monday night. Food was fantastic. We had the tartare, deviled eggs, 10 oz prime filet and then another steak. We also had two sides - mashed potatoes and mac n cheese. I loved the deviled eggs! Topped with brisket, they were so delicious!! My steak (the 10 oz prime) was perfectly cooked and so tender. My fiancees steak was also good. The side of mashed potatoes was not my favorite, they were kind of runny. The mac n cheese was great though! We also took home a bread pudding for dessert (too full to eat dessert there but wanted to try it later). So glad we did! Definitely will come back here and highly recommend it.

Joe T.

Yelp
The butcher seemed pretty good, but the front of the house could use some work. They were out of some things and yet they didn't erase or cross them out on their chalkboard. It appeared that they gave/rang me up for the wrong meat (look at the weight / price on the receipt ‍). Ordering was frustrating and took a lot longer than expected. Go to Rudolph's or Central Market if you're looking for good meat and great service

Susan B.

Yelp
I don't give 5 stars to many restaurants, but Cooper's Steakhouse really deserves them! Why hasn't anyone told me about this place?? It was our anniversary and we like to go for a late lunch/early dinner to celebrate. DH found this steakhouse not really that far from us on Sylvan and Fort Worth Avenue, down the street from Trinity Groves. There were very few people in the restaurant when we got there; a few people enjoying the patio. Our waitperson was a nice lady who was very attentive and friendly without being intrusive. We decided to go with the steaks since it's a meat market, too, and the cuts in the display case look great. DH had the tenderloin, I diverted from my usual type of steak choice and chose the ribeye. We also ordered a side of brussels sprouts. We expected very good and got great! The meat was perfectly, I mean perfectly cooked to our preference. I asked for medium, maybe between medium and medium-rare and it came out smack dab between the two. DH's was a perfect medium-rare. Delicious. The potatoes were good and the brussels sprouts were good - a bit over-the-top charred, a minute less would have been better, but had a good flavor. The sweet tea was good ole' sweet sweet tea and the wait person talked us into (didn't have to twist our arm too much) having the chocolate coffee creme brule. Oh my, my, my it's outstanding. I shared with DH, but wished I had one of my own. Maybe next time. Or maybe I'll go for the bananas foster bread pudding. Maybe both. We are so glad to have discovered this place. We'll definitely be back and I recommend it highly!

Laura H.

Yelp
Was skeptical about this place due to the location & size...inside surprised me, seemed way more spacious than I originally thought. Julio was able to get us sat & taken care of fairly quickly compared to the volume in the building. He was very informative about the menu & special's they had going on! Shout out to Joel for recommending us trying this place 10/10. My husband & I will be back!

Keithley P.

Yelp
My husband and I are mostly vegetarian, but we stopped by this restaurant when we were in town. We shared the filet mignon with Bernaise sauce, a baked potato and salad along with some nice red wine. We also ordered a creme brûlée for dessert. We had a pretty much perfect experience. This was the best meal we've had in a long time and we've had some good meals. We ate on the outdoor patio and our server was so helpful with a delightful personality.

Timothy G.

Yelp
Hidden gem. Fantastic steaks, good wine list. Love the brisket deviled eggs. Good happy hour specials

Stephanie M.

Yelp
Love this market so much, all the highest quality. The steakhouse is amazing, the vibe is everything. The best steak I have ever had, I highly recommend the the Akaushi ribeye or filet. My server was very knowledgeable and friendly, I left the steakhouse stopping at the market and took home the breakfast sausage. I will be returning and recommending this place. Thank you

T J.

Yelp
This is a must stop off from now on. We are a house divided. Our elder daughter goes to TCU, her sister recently enrolled at BU. We were heading back to DFW and pulled off the road for a quick bite. To our surprise, we found this gem. Steaks are fresh, great vino selection and service was incredible. New customer for life! We live in So CA. We will be back in 2 weeks for parents weekend! Looking forward to our dinner and visit!

Ben L.

Yelp
I found Cooper's online when looking for a steakhouse in Dallas for a casual business dinner. I was looking for something relaxed with a cool atmosphere but with serious steak options. It turns out that Cooper's was just right! The service was top notch as Paula and her peeps took great care of all five of us. The food was fantastic, fresh and served right off the grill. The steaks were perfect, from medium rare to medium well, which can be a challenge for many lesser kitchens. The sides were a delight in their own right; asparagus, brussell sprouts, whipped potatoes, and wedge salads, all very tasty. If you're in the Dallas area, check 'em out. Don't be fooled by the modest appearance, they know what they're doing. Seating is somewhat limited, so I suggest you make reservations. This place is going to go 'viral' once people find out about it. Just remember "Cooper's!"
