Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with Creative Cocktails at These Tampa Bay Hotspots | Eater

"Copa lets you taste a beautiful blend of flavors from Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean. Taco Tuesdays are always a hit, but if you want something more eclectic you can stop by any night for Argentine empanadas, croquetas, conch fritters, and creole shrimp. Copa encourages its guests to taste the heritage of its owners, and that extends to the bar menu too. Latin America never feels closer than when you’re drinking the ZapaGuava: Zacapa No. 23 rum, lime juice, guava juice, simple syrup, and citrus bitters." - Vox Creative

Here for breakfast, the drink menu is impressive. The food is good, except the croissant bun for the sandwich is a miss for me. It is dry and has no butter taste. The meat sandwich is generous. As for the drink, the latte is excellent, but the tea has no taste.

Great service and fun drinks! The bathrooms were clean and the restaurant had a great ambiance. The bartenders were nice and friendly. Definitely recommend stopping by! We had a mojito and Bombay Breeze

The food was exceptional. We started with the tostones with pork, which were perfectly crunchy and packed with flavor—I absolutely loved them. The steak was tender, well-seasoned, and cooked to perfection. To top it off, we had churros for dessert, and they were some of the best I’ve had in a long time—fresh, crispy, and simply delicious. Almost forgot, the espresso martini was perfectly blended and so delicious! I’ll definitely be back!

$4.50 lunch items: beef patties are consistently tasty. Chicken empanadas burnt and partially filled ( 2nd time). Should have checked before leaving this time but needed to head back to work. Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. Good luck with parking.

Nice spot for Caribbean bites with vibrate decor, inside & outside seating, & good music. Came here for very early dinner & a little pre-gaming on fair weather Saturday just before sunset, right on the strip. Great to sit outside & people watch but inside seating is loungy & nice too, even for a proper sit down dinner. Staff is friendly & attentive. Food was decent although overall everything needed a little salt to bring out the flavor & spices. Anything fried was a smidge overcooked but still tasty. Conch fritters were good, big portion. Tostones with pork topping were really good. Steak dish was good but definitely overpriced for the cut & portion of sides. I’m going to guess very few items are housemade but overall it offers a unique take on some comfort island food. Desserts were tasty too. Churros good; chocolate cake was a little ganache heavy & would’ve liked a scoop of ice cream but still hit the sweet tooth spot after dinner & drinks. Wine offerings are limited but surprisingly varied & prices are very reasonable, even for bottles, considering location & overall experience. They have a great sparking rosé. Signature cocktails are mixology level. Would maybe go back on another night with different music. Great place for girls nights & for sharing plates. Separate hookah room. Went early enough that the fact that they don’t take reservations wasn’t a big deal. We were sat straight away.

This was my first time here and honestly, the service wasn’t the best. When we asked our waiter what he recommended (since it was our first visit), he had no clue and just said, “It depends what you’re in the mood for.” The menu isn’t big, so I found that unhelpful. We ordered an appetizer that never came out, and when we asked about it, he said he’s been “running all over the place,” which is a wild excuse.. I did try their summer drink special, the lemon lychee, and it was actually really good. I wanted to try the Mai Tai as well, but by the time I was able to flag the waiter down, I no longer wanted it. What saved half the experience was my jerk chicken bc it was truly amazing and tasted authentic. However, the Cajun shrimp was just meh… nothing to rave about. Overall, the food was a mixed bag and the service left a lot to be desired.

Google
First time and definitely won’t be the last. What a fantastic place with great food and cocktails. The jerk chicken was fantastic, so good that everyone at our table had it! The croquettes were lovely as well. Great atmosphere and service wrapped up a wonderful night! Definitely recommend and we made the trip from Tampa, it’s worth the drive. We will be back!

Google
COPA is our new Sunday-Funday spot! I love this place! You can tell the bartenders take pride in the drinks they prepare, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is super cozy. They have Latin jazz every Sunday, and every band we’ve seen so far has been amazing. ❤️❤️❤️

Yelp
My boyfriend and I had an incredible time here -- from the moment we walked in, the ambiance was perfect. The drinks and hookah were top-tier, and the vibe was just right. The music, the people, and the energy all blended into such a fun and welcoming atmosphere. We didn't try the food this time, but we will definitely be back for it -- especially after seeing the menu! Huge shoutout to the staff too -- every single worker was kind, attentive, and made the night feel special. A true gem in downtown St. Pete. Highly recommend!

Yelp
The service at COPA was a 10/10, the waiter was super sweet, gave good suggestions and gave us refills before our cup ever got empty, very attentive. The seating is a little bit uncomfortable for big groups but for a party of 4 and less it's just right. Decoration is cute and ambiance is nice. The food personally i don't feel like it's worth the price. The steak is good but not crazy good for the price in my opinion. I'd give food a 7/10

Yelp
We were hoping to get into a restaurant down the block but it was packed. 45 minute wait if lucky. So, we walked away and spotted COPA. It was the restaurant of Caribbean foods from Jamaica and part of Cuba. The crowd was outside and a few tables inside. We went in and where shown a table to take. Sitting down were were handed the menus and fresh water. Making our selections, including the Red Stripe beer from Jamaica, we sat and waited. And waited. And waited. And waited. There was an event int he other room and the food was moving into it. So, we waited. 45 minutes later the waiter told us there was this event and the kitchen was slow, only a few minutes soon. We were ready to leave, but they told us it would be coming out. 10 minutes later it did. Part of it anyway. They forgot one entree. We were told they needed to re-cook the Conch Fritters. That took a few minutes and we could eat. The Conch Fritters was a nice portion. It was like eating a bread roll. Not much with the conch. It was hot in texture. There was a spice dip for it. Lots of bread crumbs. The other dishes was the special; Chicken Curry over rice. The curry was not spicy. It was dry. No moisture. There was no taste or flavor. I used some of the conch dip to add more flavor. The fried plantine was more bread crumbs and nothing else. After the meal we did have an order of Churros that were freshly made. This was the better part of the meal. It was topped with caramel and chocolate. Overall, the pricing was fine for this. The atmosphere for a Saturday night was typical on Central. The food was fair. Not like you would have in taste if in Jamaica. As for the service ---- No Comment. You can also have a Hookah here.....That is okay if you like pipe with hot air.

Yelp
Came here after discovering they also offer breakfast and coffee in the mornings. We were not disappointed. Excellent speciality coffee drinks and the sandwiches were fresh and flavorful as well. We also loved the decor and vibe. We'll be back soon!

Yelp
My friends and I were trying to find a brunch place on Central and walked into this beautiful artistic gem of a place. First we ordered cocktails, mine was a Crazy in love, very refreshing and another was an espresso martini. Then we had the El Barbacoa which was my favorite like a empanada and the chicken empanada. There was only one person serving and she served us so quickly. I loved all the art work in the restaurant, very eclectic.

Yelp
Heyyyyyyy you guys!! Stumbled up upon this place by complete accident and was not mad about it. This restaurant has two sides that appears to be connected one side you can get great eats. We opted for the jerk chicken and the arepas! We enjoyed both! The other side is more like a lounge vibe you can hookah over there. There was a DJ. The music was played at a perfect volume where you were still able to enjoy the sounds and have great conversation. The service was great as well! The spot is no secret to folks visiting Saint Pete. We enjoyed our time here.

Yelp
Nice and formative foreign lager beer section. Went on a double date here and we all tried each others food and the food rocked. Cocktails were nice, make sure to bring your fatter wallet bc it's pricey, but I'd say worth the shot. Cool too that they occasionally host dj's there to add to the vibe. Bonus: dimly lit restaurant with places to walk to afterwards! Expect this place to be busy!

Yelp
Perfect intimate setting for date Great happy hour selection, with well executed espresso martini.

Yelp
We popped in for happy hour and what a great place! The specials were $4 tacos and drink specials. The chicken empanadas were delish and crisp. I had the tuna, shrimp and tofu tacos. Hubby enjoyed the pork and beef tacos! All $4 each even the tuna and shrimp. There is patio dining too! I am sure all these restaurants and business are hurting with baseball season and the stadium closed. Please support those close to us. Thanks

Yelp
This is a pretty cool restaurant. The menu is kind of small and there are limited gluten-free options. I had the jerked chicken with beans. The jerked chicken was fantastic in seasoning and taste and it was well cooked. The beans not so much, there was more liquid then beans in the bowl. One of the women working there noticed how watered down the beans were though and she took them and brought back a new bowl without me even asking. The drinks are very great here as well as decor. There is indoor and outdoor seating as well and a bar. The vibe was pretty nice as well on a Friday night. We had the jerked chicken, tacos, fries, and cocktails and everything was good. I would return. I just wish they had a better rice option to go with the chicken and beans.

Yelp
On Saturday nights you cannot make a reservation. We called earlier on the day and the host said just stop in later. We had a high top for 4 near the bar. The appetizers were petite but full of flavor. Would love more fresh salsa to match the portion of tortillas. The tuna was dressed well with ponzu and sesame seeds. The restaurant is hip, plenty of art work , loud music dim lighting. I ordered a white wine but my friends loved the different tequila cockatils.

Yelp
I loved coming here it is small and intimate and has such a good vibe and great music and food the staff was super friendly and upbeat. I loved the food it was amazing words can't describe the taste of the food because everything was seasoned and cooked to perfection I look forward to coming back soon and enjoying some great drinks and food. Also try their espresso martinis they are delicious!

Yelp
Last Saturday, we went to celebrate my friend's birthday. They don't take reservation so we just walked in. We were a party of 8 and it seems like they were overwhelmed by such a large group. Our drinks came pretty fast and they were really good. The food took quite some time to be served but everyone was happy with their selection. Although we sat outside, I went inside to take pictures and I must say I love the decor, so many beautiful paintings. They have two sections one for hookah and one section for food and drinks. I really enjoyed their music selections. If I am in the Ste Pete area, I would definitely go back.
google avatar

Yelp
The food is delicious and the cocktails are just as tasty. Great ambiance too! We sat at the bar in this groovy looking restaurant and we consistently had great service throughout our time here. If you're ordering tapes then be sure to try the barbacoa as your protein. Absolutely delicious. As for drinks, I might have had my favourite espresso Martini in St Pete here although there were some tasty modified made to it. Yet to try out the hookahs they offer here but you can only use them outside so I guess I'll have to come back when the weather's cooler.

Yelp
Amazing jerk chicken. Gosh I come back here just for this. It is so juicy, flavorful and authentic. A tad bit spicy though! It comes with jasmine rice and a sweet coleslaw. Unfortunately, the rice came out a little bit, crunchy and hard to chew. 5/5 The chips and salsa are also exceptional. They make the chips in house so they come out nice and warm. The salsa is savory, well above average! 5/5 It has a really nice ambience. This is the place you come to relax with your friends and just lay back on the nice pillows.

Yelp
So I gave this place a shot on Taco Tuesday and although I liked the vibe of the place some of the food items were not so good. The drinks were absolutely amazing and I would definitely come back if I'm in the area but probably only for the drink specials. They had a happy hour with half price classic drinks and this included my spicy margarita and expresso martini. Both drinks with the special came to $6-7 which is amazing especially for how good they were! The expresso martini was one of the best I've had! For food we started with the chips and salsa and it's crazy because you can tell the chips were fresh and made in house but the salsa definitely tasted like it came from a jar, which was very disappointing! The yuca croquetas sounded very promising but they were just ok. I also had a barbacoa taco that was on special for $4 and this was amazing the barbacoa beef had amazing flavor! For the Taco Tuesday special you can mix and match tacos and tostones so I also had a Mojo pork tostone but unfortunately it missed the mark. The mojo pork didn't have much flavor and it was topped with a basic dry slaw that looked like it came from a bag. Service was going great until we ordered a few tacos after having apps and a drink. After about 20 mins we decided to ask if our tacos were almost up but he had a puzzled look on his face so we could tell they were never put in. He did bring them out rather quickly once we mentioned we had not received them. Overall the vibe is cool but they could definitely do better at this place.

Yelp
Second visit here with my uncle. Good vibes, nice decor, patient staff. They have vegetarian/ vegan options which is always a plus. I got the jerk tacos. Would definitely order them again. The menu is simple but I personally like it that way. Food arrived promptly. Will be visiting again in the future

Yelp
Had an amazing date night dinner. Fairly empty at 5pm on a Thursday, but the service was great. Wish we had some more salsa for 10 bucks but it was delicious regardless. The reef and beef was delicious as well. The steak was seasoned perfectly and the coconut shrimp was great. $8 espresso martini for happy hour was a plus. They have daily specials for each day of the week.
google avatar

Drake G.

Yelp
Quick service, server was very nice and accommodating, food was excellent. Got the reef and beef and it was amazing. Still thinking about it. 10/10
google avatar

Yelp
The vibe of this cafe is wonderful with the deco inviting you in to get cozy. Servers were friendly. Food was just ok, the barbacoa was a little dry and not super flavorful. The empanadas were ok. Maybe their dinner menu is better!
google avatar

Mara M.

Yelp
Wow I'm mad I didn't try this place sooner! Food is really solid and wide selection of drink options too! Really cool lounge vibe, music is at just the right volume. Servers and bartenders are really nice and helpful too. Also, the happy hour is an excellent deal! We came on Tuesday and they were doing Taco Tuesday. You could mix and match any of the proteins on three tacos or put them on a tostone which I did and it was SO good. The tofu, tuna and shrimp tacos were all really good. Will definitely come back!
google avatar

Kelly W.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing venue! Beautiful aesthetics, fantastic food, and wonderful Copa Team! Even met the owners (they're brothers!)--fantastic guys! I was so excited about the food I forgot to take pics lol but managed to snap a few of dessert the mozzarella arepas, shrimp tostones, and chocolate torte cake were out of this world! You won't be disappointed 15/10 recommend!

Yelp
Here for breakfast, the drink menu is impressive. The food is good, except the crossiant bun for the sandwich is a miss for me. It is dry and has no butter taste. The meat sandwich is generous. As for the drink, the latte is excellent, but the tea has no taste.

Yelp
Went around 5pm on a Saturday night and had no issues being seated. The establishment is very very small, however it provides intimate vibes. Our server was great although he talked at almost a whisper so it was a bit hard to hear sometimes (they are playing instrumental upbeat music). There were many smaller groups dining along with us and we didn't feel like it was too noisy. My friend and I ordered 3 plates to share and this was plenty of food! Too much food I would say as their portions are pretty big. The steak & maduros gets 5/5. The barbacoa beef bowl also 5/5. However the tostones with mojo pork were not our favorite. If we were to order the tostones again, I would opt for the barbacoa beef for sure! Overall this was a delicious dinner, very filling and prices were reasonable. I'd definitely come back. Side note: there is a notice at their hostess desk that says they will not sit groups of 8 or more

Yelp
COPA is our go-to spot any time we are in St Pete! We loveeee the atmosphere, the music, the staff, the owners- every part of the COPA experience makes you feel welcomed and there's always something new to try on the menu. No matter what, we will always ALWAYS get the empanadas! I've gone with business colleagues, my husband, my grandmother, my parents, my kids, we are welcomed regardless. Usually we go for dinner but recently tried lunch and the portions were huge. The nicest part was smelling the fresh basil being prepared right there for later. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Sunday I had the chance to try Copa Amazing ambiance and friendly staff. One thing you should never do is walk past this place without trying it out. Please don't get caught sleeping on this restaurant. The drinks were delicious and the the food Sweeeet Jesussss it's wonderfuullllll, omgggg just ridiculously amazing! I thought I had tasted the best empanadas in Tampa I was so wrong.. hands up to the sky and cross my own heart these empanadas were better then I could have ever imagined, to have the crust be made fresh so delicate light and crispy but flaky but just the right texture and the inside is like a warm hug from ya mama and the perfect cooking from granny's house all wrapped into one delicious pie. It tastes like a sweet love story. Whoever is cooking in this kitchen I pray I get to shake their hand and just give them a hug because this food made my complete soul happy. Denise was our server and was extremely sweet and attentive. First time here but omg after writing this I think I'll go back again tonight.
google avatar

Yelp
It just wasn't the vibe we were looking for. We were under the impression that a live dj is present. We never saw them lol. The music was a mood but pics and videos made us think it was a dance floor. So, once we arrived it was more mellow than planned. Weren't expecting a club vibe but more like a lounge and casual dancing. Tried the rosé wine and it was really good and a nice pour. Staff were amazing.
google avatar

Yelp
Came here on a Friday night and since they do not take reservations I was glad that we did not have to wait to get a table. They have now expanded to the building next door and put in a coffee shop, but we did not try out that side of the building. The lighting in the main room is a bit dim but gives it sort of a cozy feel. We were seated in the corner so both of us could sit in a booth. I ordered a Smoke Break and my wife ordered a Rosarita for our first drinks and then we split a Hibiscus Sour mocktail afterwards. All of them were fantastic and we will probably go back for a drink sometime in the future. For food we split an order of Barbacoa Beef Tacos and the Aunties Jerk Chicken. The tacos were good, but I would try something else next time. The jerk chicken however was incredible. You could cut the chicken with a fork and it was heavily seasoned to perfections. The service could have been a little better though considering that they were not that busy, it felt we were ignored or forgotten about. If you are coming here parking is probably going to be a pain in the butt. We fortunately were coming from somewhere close by and were able to walk to the restaurant.

Yelp
Writing this review really hurts. But Yelp is not just for writing about good experiences - but for growth and constructive criticism where it's needed. Let me start by saying that I have been coming to COPA for YEARS: Ever since they opened, through COVID hard times, through several price increases/inflation, etc. As a business owner myself, I understand certain unwelcomed changes are sometimes needed out of sheer necessity. But my experience when I brought a new client on his birthday last week was UNACCEPTABLE. COPA now has two completely different sections and if you're having hookah and drinks in one section, you cannot order from food menu at all. I thought that was bizarre, but we went with the flow (maybe it's due to zoning issues/ differences of the two segments?). But what really upset us was 1) The hookah took SO LONG to be served we asked for them to cancel it, but then all of a sudden "it is being prepared now, can't cancel" and 2) How the server just completely DISAPPEARED after saying that if we wanted water we could just serve ourselves from the tap at the end of that hookah room (and just came to check maybe twice if we wanted more hookah after it was FINALLY served or cocktails over more than an hour) -- then they had the AUDACITY to still charge us 20% gratuity for being Offline members!? The majority of Offline member restaurants do not charge required gratuity btw, and even the few occasions they do, you BET it is the most amazing service we have ever had and they really are deserving of the 20%. That 20% should have been given back to us as cashback for serving ourselves, for waiting so long for hookah and then being DENIED canceling it. Again: I've been going to COPA for YEARS (even during COVID) and have never been treated with such DISRESPECT. Now I don't even know if I want to go back, ever, after this terrible experience. I will also tell all my clients and colleagues I know to AVOID COPA and never give them any business. This was not only a disrespectful experience to a LOYAL COPA customer, but even worse: This was an EMBARRASSMENT for me in front of a business partner. What a SHAME :'(

Yelp
Copa was amazing! The food was so good we got the Caribbean shrimp with rice and had margaritas for their happy hour. I will absolutely be back. The service was amazing, even the host was so sweet and welcoming. The restaurant is beautiful

Yelp
Went here with my friend and we had a good time. We got there at 4 and around 6 it starts to get packed. I had pinot grigio and she had a white sangria which we loved our drinks. We split the croquetas de yuca and those were amazing. Great flavor and well fried. I had the surf and turf which was amazing. The steak was juicy and well marinated, the coconut shrimp was flavorful and crispy and the tostones were bomb. This is a great place to visit especially for a girls outing.
google avatar

Claudia S.

Yelp
We grab the Cuban as that appetizer in their new location while we waited for dinner to open up, the service was amazing friendly, and as soon as the dinner side open up and they took us and sat down. Then we order the Tostones and more drinks and the ambience was excellent. Will definitely go back soon.
google avatar

Bailey P.

Yelp
Went in with a party of 5 on a Thursday for happy hour & were seated immediately. Server was efficient even though it got very busy & she had a lot of tables. Happy hour gives you half off original cocktails - bringing them down to $6-$8/drink. Got a bit loud as the evening went on but that's expected. For drinks, we had espresso martinis (very good + avoid if you don't like cinnamon), margaritas (good), Moscow mule (average), & mojitos (very good - tried guava & original & liked both but the OG won by a slight margin). For food, we had yuca croquettas (highly recommend, so so good), conch fritters (pretty good), chips & salsa (chips were hot & salty & perfect, salsa was okay), & tacos (I didn't try these so can't speak to flavor, but was told they were good). Will be coming back for the croquettas & mojitos.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a hidden gem. They have excellent specials through the week, taco Tuesday, there's a wine night I believe. There are healthy options, but a wonderful Cuban flair. I'm pescatarian and a must have on the menu for me are the jerk tofu rolls, served with a sweet and spicy sauce. Love the hookah offerings on the outdoor patio, super friendly service and a great ambiance.
google avatar

Jared M.

Yelp
The vibe is here is very chill. They have a nice inside bar and outside seating. The tacos were a great deal on Taco Tuesday ($4) and they were above average. I got the pork, tuna, and shrimp. All were good.

Emma S.

Yelp
Always an amazing experience coming here! Fantastic food and drinks. Love the tostones and cocktails. I'm looking forward to trying it for breakfast soon.
google avatar

Aubrey E.

Yelp
Great small place. Full bar. Dark and quiet on a Wednesday night. The food was solid. They had a full bar and a good selection of beer (none on tap). The staff was engaging and seemed to like working there and interacting with goofy visitors to town like me. They had hooka (?) service which we didn't take advantage of but it seemed cool for a Spanish tapas place. I'd go back if I was in town.
google avatar

Brigitte P.

Yelp
Such a cute spot for tapas and drinks. I would say there specialty is drinks over food - not to discount the food, just it is a fairly small menu in terms of options. I came here with a girlfriend for a fun girls night and COPA did not disappoint. The atmosphere was very chill, and the drinks were perfect. We got a window seat and while not the most comfortable, it afforded us the best view. FOOD: 5/5 - get the croquettas now (no, seriously, EAT THEM!) DRINKS: 5/5 - the spicy coconut mojito was the best SERVICE: 4/5 - it wasn't that busy, but they were a tad understaffed - granted, it was a Monday night and the waitress was phenomenal considering PRICE: 5/5 - you're paying for the ambiance OVERALL: 5/5 would come again!

Yelp
This was one of the businesses that was open right after the hurricane Milton hit. All I wanted was a cup of coffee. I've been craving its delicious warm, familiar caffeine affects for a couple of days. We've had no power at home and so we vented out and found COPA delicious coffee all the essentials even plugged in our phones and electronics so that we could get a charge. Thanks for being there for the community. COPA We'll be back!

Yelp
The food and service with Joseph and Denise was a great experience! The food was good and the place was great

Yelp
We enjoyed our visit to Copa. We went for dinner on our 1st night & brunch the following day. Try the yucca croquettes and conch. For brunch the lox sandwich and hangover mock tail is exactly what you need to stem any queasiness from the night before lol. The food was delicious. The waitstaff were friendly, warm and attentive. Copa is a great place for a sexy date night. The lights are turned down low, the tables are furnished with real flowers and we enjoyed dinner by candlelight. The music is a mix of Caribbean genres and sets a chill vibe that is played low enough for you to enjoy a conversation. There is beautiful artwork throughout and we will definitely visit again when we're in St. Pete.

Olga V.

Yelp
Nice, lively atmosphere that wasn't overwhelming, paired with excellent service and delicious food. Our table enjoyed the ceviche, shrimp, tostones, and maduros--all flavorful and well-prepared. A great spot for a fun and satisfying dining experience.
google avatar

Kristen V.

Yelp
The pork taco appetizer was tasty, but it could've used a sauce to bring it to the next level. When we got our ahi tuna bowls, we had asked for more sauce to which the waiter brought a garlicky aioli and a cilantro based one. It would've been great on those tacos, but overall the food was delicious and fresh. The ambiance was awesome with the music of afrobeats, hip hop, r&b, and Latin including salsa and bachata, which are all on my playlists so we were dancing in our seats. We had a great time!
google avatar

Ann L.

Yelp
I've been here a number of times with friends. It's definitely a chill little nook if you care about conversation over ambiance and entertainment. It's a great spot for light bites and drinks. From the perfectly garnished glassware to the expertly balanced flavors, every drink we've had is a delight of taste and creativity. Nice place to unwind with friends or have an intimate date but the service tends to be a wait. I would suggest if you plan to drink, to order two drinks so you don't have to wait on your next drink, same with the appetizers/food. Great spot to begin or close your night!

Jason G.

Yelp
COPA has a great selection of wine and sangria along with a full bar. If you enjoy mixing it up then maybe a mimosa is your vibe, well they have that too! Food options were decent for a smaller kitchen, offering options for almost everyone. Never had bad service any time we have gone!

our first time here and it was fantastic. we went for Sunday smooth jazz and I highly recommend it. Hasan was our server and he definitely gets 5 stars. One of the owners, Sebastian, stopled by our table and I'm so glad he did so we could tell him what a great time we had.

Yelp
Incredible espresso martinis with secret spiced simple syrup-best in town! Lots of other good drinks too. Service is warm and friendly. The food is very good-not a big selection but everything offered is super. I especially like the barbacoa tacos.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped in on Valentine's Day for afternoon lunch. I've been looking forward to checking this establishment out especially once I heard it was black owned. The food was delicious and the drinks were great especially the Good Juju. The vibe is what drew me in. All of the Black and Afro Latino artwork gave me comfort of home (originally from NYC). My biggest gripe was the customer service. No one welcomed us in, twice because we left and come back within minutes. The lady at the bar taking orders never smiled, and just gave off cold robotic energy. The owner walked by us a few times and never once stopped to speak, ask how things were going or thank us for coming in. At one point we were the only customers seated inside so I can't really give them the benefit of the doubt with the excuse that things were simply busy. Another couple walked in after us and my husband and I noticed the interaction was very different from the lady behind the counter, she greeted them, complimented the woman's dress and even made suggestions on drinks. Quite different from our experience. I would be willing to give Copa another chance. Maybe things would be more friendly and welcoming during dinner. It was just disappointing as we came to all the way to DTSP specifically to check this place out as I've been talking about it for months.
