We've been huge fans of Copacabana for years, having visited most of their locations before the pandemic--even the ones that sadly closed during that time. This was our first visit to the Eglinton location, and we were excited to see how it compared to the others.
We went for the Date Night Dinner ($145 for two people, including a bottle of wine). We chose red and got a bottle of Shiraz, which paired perfectly with the red meat feast ahead.
The atmosphere was lively, with a live DJ setting the vibe for a fun evening. The food? Absolutely fantastic. The grilled meats were cooked to perfection--juicy, flavourful, and served medium rare, which we love. The servers were on top of their game, constantly bringing different cuts of meat to our table. For those who've been to Copa before, you might remember the little coasters you'd flip to signal if you wanted more or needed a break. That's gone now, so the meat just keeps coming! All you have to do is politely decline--but honestly, how do you say no to those hunks of meat? (Yes, I'm talking about the actual meat!)
We tried nearly everything on the rodizio menu, but some standouts were the parmesan filet mignon, the signature picanha, and this amazing cut stuffed with melty cheese (wish I remembered the name). On the side, we had the salmon tartare and the roasted broccoli and zucchini. The tartare was a little too fishy for our taste--stronger than the sushi-grade salmon we're used to--but the veggies had a nice smoky flavour, even though they were a bit over-grilled and leaned towards bitter.
Whenever we dine at Copa, we couldn't say no to the grilled pineapple--it's sweet, caramelized, and so addictive that I couldn't resist grabbing a couple of slices before finally putting my tongs down. I also had the cornbread, which was soft and pillowy, and ended with some vanilla gelato, a refreshing way to wrap up such a hearty meal.
The Eglinton location itself is beautiful--though a bit smaller than the Vaughan location, it's clean, and tastefully decorated. One thing we did miss was the Brazilian dance show, which for some reason wasn't happening on the Friday we visited. But honestly, the amazing food and lively energy made up for it.
Copacabana hasn't lost its touch, and we're so glad we finally made it to this location. If you're a fan of all-you-can-eat meat or just looking for a great night out, this place is definitely worth visiting.
