"Copal Tree Lodge Formerly Belcampo. Each of the 16 rooms at Copal Tree Lodge is a spacious villa-style suite set on the edge of the jungle, which gives a sense of privacy and peacefulness. Guests shouldn't be surprised to see coatimundi, agouti, and other wildlife while showering in the spa-style bathrooms with their floor-to-ceiling windows. Tile floors, comfortable beds wrapped with gauzy mosquito nets, and private verandas are standard in every suite, as is Wi-Fi and complimentary laundry service, and the hotel has a pool and a restaurant/bar. The numerous outdoor activities include exploring Copal Tree Lodge's chocolate trail and kayaking or canoeing on the Rio Grande River at the base of the property; various trips can be organized off-site, too. The hotel is closed from mid-September to late October."

Fabulous experience all around. I was very impressed by the service and the cleanliness of the lodge. I enjoyed fly fishing, swimming in a cave, learning how chocolate is made, and the jungle tour from a very knowledgeable guide. The views from our porch were beyond expectation. The food is outstanding - fresh and delicious. Blackened snapper was a favorite. I enjoyed an incredible massage and a facial with chocolate! Highly recommend. I look forward to going back.

We love that the rooms are right in the smack of the forest. I love laying down on the hammock on the deck and enjoy the jungle noises. The trails are very interesting. The visit to the riverside was also incredible. The resort is excelente. The staff were friendly and helpful. We loved our stay. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The location was great and the atmosphere was a little humid but the pool helped with that.

We had a great five-day stay at Copal Tree Lodge in late May. The staff are amazingly friendly and helpful; the jungle suite was perfect (including the very private screened in porch/deck and the air-conditioned interior). We went on some wildly productive birding tours, and a slightly disappointing snorkeling trip (although that was due to the weather, not the guide). Their homegrown coffee and rum are both delicious. And, we admired how well integrated they are into the local community. Hope to return someday.

This was my family's first stay at Copal Tree Lodge. The Family Villa was perfect for traveling with teenagers. The Lodge location is gorgeous and the food and drinks were excellent. What made the Lodge stand out was the hospitality of ALL the employees! Special thanks to Elon for all his help and kindness, to Desmond for an amazing day of birding, and to Martin for a fun and educational trip to the Mayan ruins and village. The bean to bar class was also a highlight of the trip. Thank you to all the staff! We would love to return one day.

Bartender Ducky and Chef Yvette were the highlight of the trip for my party of 8. Ducky always had us laughing while serving us amazing drinks, especially during the dope mixology class. Chef Yvette took a break from the kitchen to come introduce herself and it was really nice to put a face to the amazing food! The lamb and plantain fries are certainly must-try items! It took some adjusting to the regular creatures visiting in common areas of the resort but it comes with the jungle territory. Nonetheless, Copal Tree was the perfect escape and exactly what I needed to unwind for a couple of days. Would definitely recommend!

Our stay was amazing. We love it here, best shower ever!! So relaxing, felt like you’re in the jungle. Howler monkeys greeted us in the morning. This is our fav resort in all of Belize!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Copal Tree Lodge! What an incredible atmosphere, great accommodations, tasty food, and wonderful staff. The scenery can't be beat, and we enjoyed both self-guided hikes through the jungle and guided tours off and on the property, and we highly recommend the sunset river cruise (huge thanks to Elon, Nate, and Shepherd, who were excellent tour guides during our stay). We would happily come back for additional adventuring here in Belize.

Our stay at Copal Tree Lodge was perfect. We stayed in the 3-bedroom villa and it was a dream. Plenty of room, comfy beds, screened porches, and our own private small pool. The property was beautiful, combining luxury lodging with connection to nature and the jungles that surround it. We saw coatimundi, howler monkeys, toucans, parrots, and more right on the property. The service was incredible, too. We loved everyone we interacted with, had delicious meals (ours were vegan and tasty), so many wonderful rum cocktails (made with the rum from their own distillery!), and never went wanting more. We hiked on the property, did a sunset boat ride, visited a nearby village, and spent a lot of time soaking in the pool. I highly recommend it!
