Copeland's of New Orleans

I haven't been to Copeland's in a long time, so I was really looking forward to going. It used to be our favorite place to go. Today, I hardly have the words to describe just how awful our experience was. For starters, there weren't any condiments or salt and pepper on the tables. The appetizer portion was not enough to serve the 4 of us. They didn't serve a spoon with my husband's soup, and his "club sandwich" had combined fillings that were thinner than a cracker, and the 2" piece of bacon he did have, was raw. We used to frequently order the club sandwiches, so shrinkflation has obviously hit, and hard. My son ordered the smashburger, which comes with a fried egg. Only, there was no egg on it, nor was he offered a substitute, when we learned they were out of eggs. My side of creamed spinach was ice-cold, and the plate lukewarm. The Chicken Monty, which I ordered, is normally served with diced bacon but - you guessed it - there was none. The almost $30 seafood "platter" that my daughter-in-law ordered was served on a plate; we used to order that often, and it used to be, indeed, served on a platter. To sum it up, we were given a bill for $104.00 for very little food, and what food that was served, was subpar. Needless to say, we will NEVER return to Copeland's.

After a couple bites of the jambalaya pasta, realized texture was off and spat out the piece that is circled in picture. Realized it was a RAW piece of chicken. Our table instantly stopped eating. You would think they would’ve at least cooked it and not just throw it in the dish. Be aware and hope you don’t get salmonella poisoning from eating here. 10/10 would not recommend. I won’t be coming back

Dined in during Happy Hour today with coworkers. Our table remained inferred for at least 15 minutes. It took another 20 minutes for our drinks and water to come and another 30 for food. Leslie approached the table , politely our orders mentally, and our table turned to eat other and said, @if she gets this order right we gotta tip as extra well”. Thought the food took long, everything we ordered arrived to the table. The apps were cold, the entrees “fried redfish with crawfish pasta” arrived with a pleasing amount of fish but literally 2 ounces or less of angel hair. Disappointing to say the least ! The visit went sour when Leslie came back to her table with the toast, quoted the price of $180.02 which seemed high, so I requested the print out. The actual printed receipt price was $150.02….. Leslie, you were serving industry people. We were patient with everything until you attempted to force the tip on us.We naturally tip better than 20 percent. Since you forced the minimum it’s what you got, but now I wish we hadn’t tipped. You come across as a thief and no longer as the girl that doesn’t have to write or enter the guest order table side. (Written from the restaurant parking lot) This doesn’t sit well with me.

Ashonté was such a great server, she made sure our experience was special. Food was amazing and came out at a great time! Definitely asking for Ashonté for our next visit.

Myla was our server is an MVP! She was outstanding! Her and Walter were kind, friendly, courteous and professional. We were celebrating with our family.🥳 Thank you for making our dinner and cocktails phenomenal! We live on the northshore but will definitely be back because of Myla🤩

We went to Copelands for a late lunch on Tuesday, Nov.11. The service was very good, although it took a long time for our food to come. The main complaint is the large Caesar salad with grilled shrimp. There a a tiny sprinkling of grated Parmesan cheese. The salad dressing was served in two cups on the side. I have never seen a Caesar Salad presented like this; usually the dressed is tossed in the salad. The cups of dressing didn't resemble any Caesar dressing that I have had before. The worst part of this salad was that there were only 5 med-small shrimp. The server confirmed that that is all the shrimp that comes with the salad. The salad was $14 and the addition of shrimp was $5.99. This means that each shrimp was $1.20 !!!!!!!!! This is not typical of a New Orleans restaurant. It is DISGRACEFUL.

Our server Dixon was amazing. Very professional, fun, Courteous and attentive. Great atmosphere and the food is absolutely delicious. As always.

Myla was amazing. She knew the menu, made great recommendations and was very cheerful!!!! She was the best server ever!!!! Myla wishing you nothing but the best!!!!

Samantha was very attentive and made sure our meal was perfect. Ask for her at the hostess stand!

The waitress was attentive. Let's begin with the room temperature corn and crab bisque. Unfortunately, I was hoping to at least have steam or to be told to be careful. With the temperature drop... I was very hopeful this would be the perfect opening to my entree. Epic fail #1

Wonderful service by Paula! Food was delicious. We had steak, chicken and waffles and spinach dip and all was delicious!

Tried the new Garlic shrimp pasta and it was amazing! If you're looking to switch things up, give that dish a try! Samantha the server was great, very pleasant and attentive to my wants and needs during my short visit! The renovations are already looking and giving a feel of a new atmosphere.

My family was in ICU. I wanted something tasty for lunch. I was so happy to dine here because the establishment in Lake Charles, La closed down. The location was located near a very busy mall. The entrees were perfect. The dessert popped into my mouth with such a pleasant after taste. Our server was one of the finest, upbeat. The chef's skills were pretty good. I encourage you to look at my photos.

I celebrate my 27th birthday here. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. I made and rsvp for 10 people. But i had 5 extra to show up. Ok i understand what i rsvp for but the manager did not want to accommodate my guess by giving them their own table. Told them it would be an hour wait. Bc they only have 4 servers working. They couldn't sit at the bar. Basically he didn't want them there. Never had to deal with this before. The waiter brought out three of my guest drinks wrong out three times. I don't know what was going on Monday 10/28/24 but they would never get my money again

I hadn't been to Copelands in years and I recently went for lunch and I had a good experience. I sat in the bar area. The server was nice and attentive. The pasta dish was very good! I plan to be back more often.

The food was great! I had the crab claws with the catfish dinner and everything was well seasoned. There is nothing that I could complain about. The waitress did a good job and recommending dishes. I was extremely full by the time I left because I couldn't stop eating!

Copelands is beautifully decorated and the service was amazing. I went at a very calm time with a group of 4 and we all got the correct order with no issues. I ordered the catfish strips with red beans and rice and loved the side more than the actual dish! The inside is great for families with a clean layout and no super busy or distracting decor. The catfish was lightly seasoned but still absolutely had a kick. I also tried the jazzy wings a friend of mine ordered and those definitely had a bit of a punch as well.

Food is always delicious. Service was good even though they were a little busy. Comfortable tables & lighting was not too low, but not too bright.

I ordered food for delivery. It was awful. The crab claws were in so much sauce you had to hunt for the claws. So messy. The toast was so soft I just couldn't eat any. The Bayou Broccoli was not good. I didn't see any broccoli or very little. I saw no bacon and most of the dish was stuffing of some kind. Nothing like it used to be. They have lost me as a customer. What has happened to some of the most basic of foods at Copelands

Food was amazing as always! Our server, Samantha, went above and beyond. She always does! I would put the Chicken Parmesan up against anything in the city, but the Shrimp Ducky will always be my favorite!

Looking at the reviews, I almost passed on Copeland's. We were visiting some friends who were local to the area, and they suggested we grab a bite at Copeland's since it was convenient to where we were meeting. When we pulled up, it looked like they had moved into a fast-food building, but this is not a fast-food experience. All of us enjoyed our meals and the service was good. None of the problems others cited on our visit.

This is a solid place for brunch, with bottomless champagne or mimosas and have great brunch items that aren't on their regular menu. This last visit I had the crab cake benedict, which was good - perfectly poached eggs and good crab cake with a delicious biscuit. We split the crawfish bread; one of my favorite things on their brunch menu. Other entrée ordered was grits & grillades, which were just OK because the tomato didn't taste fully cooked down. The grits were perfect though (and I stole a lot of them - should've ordered a side of grits for myself!). Whether I eat here for brunch, lunch or dinner - I always order something with seafood. They treat seafood dishes the best. I've been here not for brunch plenty of times, but it's not usually one of my first options in the evenings because the wait can get long sometimes. Very much appreciate though how well they handle small or large groups, so you can have a great meal by yourself, on a date, or with the whole family. There's a lot of seating in multiple dinning room areas and great seating options in the bar area with usually sports on the TVs. Bonus is that the drinks are always great no matter what you order, and the service is always good, too.

This most recent visit here, both times with a group from work. Keeping in mind that this is a local chain, my expectations were middle of the road. Both visits, the interior was neat and clean. The parking lot seems a bit on the small side. Service the first visit a few years ago was good. I can't remember what I ordered, nor that there were any issues. This time around, the service was slow. The food did not come out all out at once. Refills were not given at all. The crawfish ravioli was good enough. The waitress seemed to be extremely overwhelmed even though I did not see her at any other tables.

Stopped by the Copeland's in Elmwood for lunch. Super nice staff. We had a party of 4 and were seated immediately. Leslie was our server and she was awesome. Food was fantastic.

The last of our restaurants before we headed home, Copelands looks like a chain restaurant. Service was good and the food was typical Cajun/Creole. We were pressed for time so the quick service was apprieciated. There are so many food choices in New Orleans, so Copelands wouldn't be the restaurant I would recommend you entertain. It's a quick-bite type of establishment.

We've been going to Copelands for years, only had one or two disappointments. Service is great, drinks are amazing. Appetizers turn into meals . Definitely a top 10.

I hadn't been to Copeland's in YEARS but decided to go with some friends a few weeks ago to reminisce about college. Wow! Copeland's has aged WELL. A lot of chains look run down or dated. The place, the food, the drinks. It was all so nice! We were all very pleased. So last night I ordered food to go for my husband and I. Again, the food was great.

Once again Catering order was perfect! I couldn't ask for a better manager to handle all of my lunches than catering manager Staci Perez! Couldn't do my job as efficiently without her! Food was amazing, delivered on-time, and tasted amazing!!! Would definitely use again!

I recently picked up food from this location, starting pulling out the parking lot & a car blocked it so I honked the horn. The manger (a Spanish guy) was outside telling me to shut up multiple times. I'm a paying customer & I refuse to be treated disrespectful. No longer giving my money to this company & I will tell everyone I know.

Worst restaurant in town. When u can ruin a steak u got to be bad. Stingy with biscuits, did NOT want to give us one more. Had to run to bathroom several times, must use msg because food not cooked fresh. Just an awful place. Am surprized it is still there. Holiday means are like mush. Service is terrible. Pitiful place. Not what anyone would expect.

Stopped at Copeland's on the way out of town. The crawfish bread was awesome! Don't miss it. I ordered a small gumbo and the Seafood Louis salad. Gumbo was sub par. There was not much in the gumbo but the serving was large. The Seafood Louis Salad was great! The dressing was like a remoulade sauce. It paired well with the salad. Coworkers had crawfish ravioli and said it was delicious. (Not pictures below) . Service was good.

I ordered delivery from here one weeknight. I had the Crab Stuffed Beignets $11.99 as an appetizer which were good, the sauce it comes with makes them but kind of small for the price. For my entrée I got the Crab Cakes $ Shrimp Alfredo $19.99. I thought this was okay, the sauce was kind of bland and there wasn't much of it. What bugged me the most was the pasta was not tossed in the sauce, simply put on top of it. Not sure if that is normal or not though but pretty disappointing. The biscuit it came with was good for mopping up. They have a lot of different things to try so I will probably order again sometime though and try something else.

I was so happy I could order a thanksgiving platter somewhere. Copeland's to the rescue! The plate was perfect for one person (I was not cooking), and it hit all the tasty spots. There was cajun turkey, mashed sweet potatoes, green beans, oyster stuffing, corn bread, and delicious gravy. Ohh, it hit the spot. Thank you fro having this, because it's a great idea! No cooking, no mess, and no dishes to deal with. Also, ummmm - check out the desserts!!!!!!

Food and service is great . Host was very friendly. Place is always nice vibes and very clean.

It's my birthday month so I'm celebrating everyday! Decided to come to one of my faves Started it with one of my favorite drinks, the Crash & Burn Will be drinking this all day! My faves are the Smoked Tuna Dip & Jazzy Wings! Always a nice vibe and amazing food! You must try!

Came here spur of the moment with a large party. Unfortunately I don't remember the server's name. She was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. She was great! My food was ok. Wasn't a big fan of the pasta but it wasn't bad at all. If I return I'll order something else. Overall I had a good experience and good food.

Awesome food, very friendly service. Like the gumbo, buffalo rolls and turtle cheese cake.

Service was astounding , food was great , truly a New Orleans gem. The hot crab claws were the best appetizer I have had in years . There specialty drinks were top notch and packed a punch as you would expect from a naturally nawlin's restaurant. Truly a must visit . The ambiance will force you to have a good time . Great place

This is my first negative review ever: The outside looks nice. I saw the desserts when I first walked in and thought it was going to be great. Then we were greeted by the hostess who was neither welcoming nor hygienic. She sat us quickly (there was only two other tables occupied). We weren't greeted for quite some time, had to ask the hostess if we were assigned waitstaff. Then we saw the hostess tell the waitress about us and the waitress scoffed and shook her head with a bit of attitude saying we had only been waiting three minutes (which is plenty long enough to give us a Hello) but it was definitely longer than three minutes! While seated, another family came in, looked around, and left, saying the place was dirty. Then a group of three ladies came in, told the hostess they were going to be loud and wanted to be seated where they wouldn't bother other diners. The hostess said "I'll seat you where I have room"...again, TWO other tables were occupied. We ordered a few appetizers. Our cups were dirty, plates were dirty, AND silverware was dirty. We finally got up and left. No idea how the food tasted, we didn't want to eat in a restaurant that didn't take ANY pride in their facility. We ended up walking two buildings over to Jaeger's and it was GREAT! Save your time, don't bother with Copelands.

Poor customer service . I ordered the sweet potato casserole. I ate some of it and planned on bringing the rest home. When I scraped it into the to go container they had roasted potatoes in the bottom of the casserole dish that the sweet potato casserole was in. Totally gross because someone should've seen that the dish was dirty before putting the food in it. When I bought it to the server attention she got an attitude. That was not even half of the issues. Definitely won't be returning

Recently had lunch at the Copelands in Slidell La and was entirely disappointed in the quality of the shrimp platter. I actually received a pop corn sized plate and thought it was a kids meal. When I questioned the waitress I was told that this was a corporate cost cutting measure than was recently started. Louisiana is known for its seafood and advertising these pop corn shrimp on the menu a Louisiana Gulf shrimp is a joke

My family decided to order our Thanksgiving feast from Copelands this year. Everything was amazing. The entire process, from ordering online to picking up the food Thanksgiving morning, went flawlessly. Everything was so organized and extremely convenient. The staff was absolutely outstanding. Everyone was very helpful. When we arrived home and unpacked the food, everything was boxed and organized perfectly. The food was out of this world. Absolutely delicious!! We are already planning on placing another order for our food for Christmas. Thank you Copleands and keep up the good work.

I had time to spare so I didn't mind the 25 minute wait to be seated. Initially there was a strange sour smell throughout the dining area but it kinda faded away as time went on. I started with a peach sweet tea and the Crab Stuffed Beignets which had too much batter for my liking. Then I ordered the Herb Crusted Salmon. The edges around the salmon was extra salty but I just ate around it. Unfortunately the lump crabmeat had too many pieces of shell in it so I ended up scraping all off. It was too much of a nuisance. The roasted potatoes were perfect. I also had a side of Creamed Spinach but it tasted awful...like it had been cooked in blue cheese. My sweet waitress allowed me to swap it out for the Steamed Broccoli Florets. I usually don't indulge in dessert but since I still had time to kill I got the Peach Cobbler. It was actually pretty good. I wouldn't mind giving this place another try...I just know what NOT to order the next time!

We waited an hr and a half for food we ordered advanced to they kept coming out telling is that was almost ready time after time. As I'm writing this I still have no food

I do not recommend eating at this location especially when Trinidad is the manager. He is very disrespectful and unprofessional. I will never eat at this location again. This was the worst restaurant experience I have encountered by a manager!

Worst service ever. Took over 1.5hrs to get seated because they "assigned" a table for us when we walked in. Had at least 10 other tables get seated before us that arrived after us because their "assigned" table opened before ours. Crab claws were fishy. Catfish platter was soggy. And to top it off, when they sat us at our "assigned table", we were surrounded by EMPTY TABLES. STUPIDEST SYSTEM EVER. WILL NEVER GO BACK.

A steady staple for burgers and corn chowder. Also the curbside is the best way to get in and out. Thank you, Haylie.

Sat for 30 minutes before getting served water. Food was cold. Waitress then committed fraud by adding a tip for herself. Called the manager and his response was "what do you want me to do about it." He did call back after the first phone call saying he would refund my whole order...still never got the refund though. Do not recommend.

DELISH NEW ORLEANS FOOD Copeland on Clearview is amazing. There so nice and friendly. There Food is fantastic. Seasoning is to perfection. I would high recommend you go. My husband and I had a date night for spouse's day and completely enjoyed everything we had. Corn & Crab Bisque Steak Labouchere Fried porkchop Broccoli bites Appletini King cake cheesecake

Our waitress was great! The atmosphere was clean and pleasant. The food was good and hot. I do not recommend the smoked tuna appetizer. It is dry! The mashed sweet potatoes weren't that great. I enjoyed my catfish po'boy and the peach lemonade.

Giving another chance,I must say that the best option is to go to the happy hour,get some wells drinks or the Mardi gras punch,wine (the martinis were like an olive broth) and appetizers, cant miss the beignets and the fried pasta in the spinach dip,the onion of course. Our waiter (and most of them) I think are going through hard times cause really,the attitude was sad. Had to wait a lot for everything but he managed to excuse (wasnt his fault) . The croissant on the Copeland's burger was hard,stick with the bun and yes..we got a bottle of ketchup sealed,that was curious Haha. We saw maybe the manager doing rounds and actually in a "let's solve this" attitude,hope he gets to fix this. Tips: Happy hour,appetizers half price. You are welcome .

Oh for gods sake put this place out of its misery. Horrible, unprofessional management. Bad food. Worse drinks. Just awful on all levels.

Love the Bayou Broccoli and Spinach and Artichoke Dip with Fried Bowtie Pasta. Consistently good food, authentically New Orleans and twists on traditional dishes. Some good Italian options as well.
