The Best Spots for Rum Cocktails in Tampa | Eater

"Usually, bars that specialize in creative drinks made with grand theatrics have food as an afterthought. Not the case at this downtown St. Pete mainstay, where you’ll find nearly as many people drawn by the bang bang cauliflower, filet mignon, and sriracha hollandaise sandwich as they are the drinks. Whether you’re in for dinner or a nightcap, the bar at Copper Shaker will make you feel like a longtime regular, whether it’s your first visit or your hundredth. The jovial, friendly staff will happily walk you through the menu, though save them some effort and just go with the Lost in Palms, made with Zacapa Rum, coconut, tamarind, pineapple juice, and orange juice." - Matthew Meltzer

Rick was the most amazing bartender I’ve ever had. The word “amazing” doesn’t even serve it justice. The selection of liquor here is absolutely insane. We had a Smith and Cross custom cocktail alongside a craft cocktail off their house menu and both were phenomenal. We ended our night with an ultra rare bottle of Del Maguey Pechora Mezcal and it brought a tear to my eye. We were here for one night out of the whole year and this place absolutely solidified to us that it’s the best bar in the area, with the best bartender to host the occasion. If I could give it ten stars! Phenomenal bar!

I love stopping in here and got a burger, which was nice. The cheese was not very well melted, but I was starving and the 2020 is always a go to. Don’t be weirded out that it has orange juice in it. It’s incredibly delectable, you won’t be disappointed.

Google
Super swanky, cocktail bar with uniquely crafted dishes that make for a perfect date night out, celebration, or just to enjoy an evening drink out with a classy atmosphere. Loved the cheese foudu board, as I was not expecting it to be that huge with such fun ingredients. The service is top notch, but the drinks are thr star here. My Espresso Martini was amazing!

I just tried the steak, and I was pleasantly surprised. It turned out that I ended up in a fine dining restaurant. It was absolutely delicious. I will definitely try more dishes here and recommend this place to my friends and acquaintances. Well done!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Copper Shaker is hands-down one of the best spots in downtown Saint Pete! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm, upbeat atmosphere that strikes the perfect balance between trendy and comfortable. Their specialty crafted cocktails are nothing short of extraordinary—truly made with passion and creativity. Each drink feels like an experience on its own, with flavors that stand out and presentation that’s spot on. Pair that with their mouthwatering food, and you’ve got an unbeatable combination. Every dish I’ve tried is bursting with flavor and beautifully prepared, making it clear the kitchen takes real pride in what they serve. On top of that, the service is exceptional. The staff is knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely friendly, which makes the entire visit even more enjoyable. Whether you’re stopping in for cocktails, dinner, or just to soak in the lively atmosphere, The Copper Shaker delivers an experience that keeps you coming back. Easily a 5-star gem in Saint Petersburg! Satisfied Customer, Richard Naraine

Google
The food, drinks and service were all fantastic. We decided to pop by for a quick happy hour drink and some food. The bartenders are super knowledgeable and very friendly. The food was reasonably priced and delicious. I would highly recommend 👍 Edit: we have returned many times over the past few years and man this place always delivers! They have fantastic drinks and their menu has evolved over the years but is always top notch. They make a great smoked old fashioned. This is my go to spot for some delicious bites and quality crafted drinks.

Google
Wasn't sure what to think of this place online or even walking by but my wife and I decided to give it a try. It was our best decision ever! Amazing atmosphere, waitress, and the food was the best. Ordered the steak and was large, flavorful, and even came precut. The brussel sprouts were just as good and the Mashed potatoes were great too. Very reasonable pricing for what you get too. Highly recommend! Look to have amazing cocktails too but this trip I just had a beer. Not a real large menu. Have a great menu for lunch too

Google
Really loved this place! First time visiting with a friend. The bartender was very kind and accommodating. We tried a variety of their craft cocktails and they were all very well made. Average prices for downtown. I am not sure if they have a happy hour, but if so I'd return and bring my coworkers. Added to my list of favorite DTSP bars ✔️

Yelp
Half size fondue please!!!! Every time my wife gets it she says "it's sooooo big, not as big as you..... but I'd get it all the time if it were smaller!" Everything else is already perfect, best bar and craft drinks in town! By far the best bar staff in DTSP.

Yelp
Stopped in to meet up with some friends for dinner on Saturday night. The dining and bar area were both busy. 3 of my friends and I ordered 5 skewers to split and I love that they gave us 6 skewers. My favorite skewers were the chicken and the shrimp. Service was good and appreciated that she could split the skewers 4 ways. Seems to be a great spot for groups and birthdays. I found street parking nearby.

Yelp
The energy in this bar was hoppin'! There was a bartender event that night serving free drinks for everyone in the back event room. We did not order food however we will next time.

Yelp
Awesome drinks. Almost exactly like my fav drink that I've had before and been searching for again... Honey Hab - spicy, fruity, eggy. Everything I'm looking for. Service was great bc he tasted my drink and adjusted to make sure it was just right. I appreciated that perfectionist behavior and don't mind the wait. Music and decor was what I like

Yelp
The Copper Shaker is a nicely appointed establishment with cozy, upscale decor in the heart of St Pete. The staff is friendly and took the time to discuss origins of the business and offered drink selections. We rolled into the joint with our "Cowboy" attire for a nearby event and no one batted an eye. We then belly'd up to the barstool and enjoyed Old Fashioned's; one from the "Happy Hour" option and the other from their menu selections. Their happy hour bourbon option was Horse Soldier and not bad. The menu selection bourbon was a "Whistle Pig - Piggyback" and was smoked from a piece of oak barrel. This was the added touch that I had not yet witnessed and was needless to say, pleased. I would enjoy returning, although not likely in my cowboy attire, and having another "Sippy-Sip" from the well. Quite Recommended!

Yelp
Copper Shaker is your D'yer Maker for cocktail satisfaction, having drinkie drinks made from mixologists in a butcher's smock like they're going to slaughter their enemies in the back behind the bathroom with the handicapable friendly ramp that leads to it. We went here two nights in a row for after-dinner drinks because we loved their cocktails and spirit selection, which is stacked from spirit shelving that needs to be accessed with a ladder to reach all of them. Their drinks and experience at the bar allowed us to embrace synergy. I have to say that again... Synergy. The 20/20 comprised tanteo jalapeño tequila, Salerno blood orange, carrot, lime, orange, and agave. The Bee Sneeze was made with Ford's gin, lemon, honey, rosemary, and apricot preserves. The Bon Vivant with Russell's Reserve, Cinzano 1757, and Averna bitters certainly gave me joy, while the Honey Hab with honey habanero Michters Rye, lemon, blackberry, and egg whites made me want to gyrate across the dining area while yearning for bacon and mac 'n cheese despite being full from dinner. Additionally, I enjoyed the last of an older bottle of Hedonism blended scotch by Compass Box that had a nice vanilla finish despite the water woodiness of the initial sip. We enjoyed the ambiance and energy as we imbibed our cocktails. We were surrounded by cool speakeasy accessories, such as the copper distilling tank next to barrels in the front corner of the bar at the storefront windows. The main dining area comprised high-top tables and booth seating, with black-painted ceilings that held glitzy chandeliers, dark wooden paneling and floors, and gray walls.

Yelp
Copper Shaker Crushes It! Killer cocktails, amazing food, and top-tier service--Copper Shaker nails it across the board. The drinks are creative, balanced, and seriously delicious. The food? Next-level. Every bite was packed with flavor and perfectly paired with our cocktails. The staff is awesome, especially Chrissy and Tony!! --super friendly, quick, and really know their stuff. You can tell they love what they do, and it makes the whole vibe even better. Whether you're out for a date night or just grabbing drinks with friends, Copper Shaker is a must. Can't wait to go back!
google avatar

Yelp
In my opinion, probably some of the best craft cocktails in Downtown St Pete ! Bartenders are very talented
google avatar

Kate S.

Yelp
Went to Copper Shaker for a night out, and even though it was extremely crowded, we had the best food, the best drinks, and the best time. It can be hard to get waited on when it's that busy, but they made it happen, and everything was worth it. You have to try the tacos, truffle fries, and street corn tostada--some of the best food I've ever had. Can't wait to go back!
google avatar

Yelp
We were in town for business and stopped in here on a rainy Monday night. So glad we did! The food was outstanding, you have to try the fondue...SO much food! It's not a big place, very moody and exactly what I look for in a good bar. A co-worker let is slip out it was her birthday- and the server brought out sparklers and champagne. It made her day so special despite being on a work trip!
google avatar

Maria M.

Yelp
I frequently stop into copper because it's pretty amazing. Most nights I come in late night. Recently had the opportunity to stop in early enough for happy hour....more like sad hour. Can we please use a big rock for our old fashioned? Happy hour kinda sucks. Everything else is pretty awesome.
google avatar

Yelp
Moody, industrial, speakeasy vibes and good drinks. DJ was keeping the beats going and does take requests. I would give 5 stars, but a waitress (not even ours) approached our table and started yelling at us. She was such a snot. It was probably 10pm and so we weren't eating, only drinking, but we were drinking a lot! It was my friend's birthday and I was the lightweight of the group and only had two drinks. Everyone else had several drinks, some specialty, very expensive drinks! She came over and said she had people that wanted to sit at our table and unless we gave her $200 more (our table was full of drinks, both currently being consumed and empty as well as multiple framed pictures we also bought from the restaurant) so we asked if there was a table minimum. She said there wasn't, but that we had been hogging the table for almost 2 hours and other people wanted to sit. I'm the meek friend that was about to get up and leave, but my tiny, loud friend defended our right to be at the table and then spoke to our actual waitress, who was actually apologizing for the other rude waitress. It was so odd and rude. My husband alone spent $100 on drinks there so I'm sure we weren't being even unintentionally thoughtless guests. It really left a bad taste in our mouths, but thankfully didn't ruin my friend's birthday.

Yelp
Not a local, but this place was recommended to us to try. The place was packed due to a concert that was going on near by, so service was super slow. Our waitress was very friendly though and apologetic on the slow drinks and food service. We sat outside and was not able to to the bar for service even though our waitress was slammed. This was too bad because I would have been able to get more drinks without this restriction. I ordered the Older Fashioned - nothing special. It was Tuesday, so I got their chicken quesadilla from their special menu. I don't know if it was good because I was so hungry by the time I got it (took over 45 min to receive), or if it really was good. But there definitely wasn't enough pico or sauce given to compliment the quesadilla itself. I did ask for more, but never got it.
google avatar

Jared M.

Yelp
The vibe here is quite upscale but still gets packed on Friday and Saturday nights. They have great cocktails with quality ingredients, like Russell's Reserve 10 year bourbon and Whistle Pig rye whiskey. I'm usually getting the Mr. Tea cocktail with their black tea infused Michter's bourbon. This time, I tried their tacos for Taco Tuesday. I also wasn't expecting much, but these blew me away. These are the best tacos I've had in quite a while. They've got a special on taco Tuesday; 3 tacos for $14, and you can pick whichever combination of tacos you want. I got the shrimp, pork, and chicken.  Each fantastic. Will definitely be back again for tacos.

Yelp
I was in fl visiting a friend and we went here. Drinks were okay. This random girl named amber walked by us on the street, then when my friends and I went inside to pay our tab the security guy told us that this random girl got us kicked out of the bar because her husband runs lights next door at a club called the estate and she doesn't like us personally. It was sad to see the only black girl in the entire place getting kicked from the property and humiliated for trying to pay for her drink. Copper shaker; this came off as extremely racist and weird, especially when you consider the girl calling the shots doesn't even work on the property. Was one of the most memorable experiences on my vacation. (Which is a bad thing, maybe try harder to be better)

Andy K.

Yelp
The food was terrible. The mussels had more sand than St Pete's beach - Gritty. The chicken tenders were woody and fatty. Other food was overdone. I would go there first drinks only and pass on any food. I heard the food was good in the past.

Yelp
Ask for their happy hour old fashioneds until 7pm! The loaded truffle waffle fries are phenomenal...and a HUGE shareable portion!
google avatar

Nicole M.

Yelp
My friends and I stopped in for a drink after dinner. The service was fast and for a mid week night it was actually quite packed. The drink was a good drink and I loved their inventive cocktails. We would likely come back for a night out as it had a pub feel with a mixology spirit to the place. Very conveniently located by restaurants in the area.

Nick S.

Yelp
Asked a bartender for a water last night and he rudely told me to go over to the water station and get it myself. When I turned around and asked the other nice bartender for a water who had previously gotten me one the rude bartender took my not even half drunken alcoholic beverage and dumped it out. A. I'm in the service industry, and I know it takes 5 seconds to use the soda gun and fill me up a water, B. It takes nothing at all to be nice, the bartender was rude off the bat and dumping out my drink that I paid for was totally uncalled for. I asked for a manager last night and the bartender told me one wasn't available. I am extremely disappointed.
google avatar

Yelp
They make a mean dirty martini. This is one of my boss' favorite places for a drink and I can see why. The bartenders seem to really know their drinks. Apparently there are like a million types of old fashioneds you can order. My boss got a smoked old fashioned and my husband got just a regular old fashioned and both seemed to really enjoy it. I ordered a dirty martini and the bartender asked how dirty I wanted it. I actually haven't been asked this in a long time. I got it medium and I found it both strong and delicious. I'm glad that the bar isn't so loud that you can't hear the people you are with. It was also surprisingly busy on a Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. We got the last two seats at the bar. This is definitely a fun place to check out if you're in the area. It's right next to the Sundial parking so you can easily park there, walk downstairs and grab a drink.

Yelp
Came here to have happy hour with a group of people. This bar/restaurant has been good at accommodating for larger groups. They had a decent amount of seating inside and the bathroom quality was average. The bar service was decent. I started off with a wine and their White Castle croquettes. It didn't taste like white castle, burgers, but was delicious regardless. That burratini salad was excellent! Overall, I had a pretty good experience here.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a legit high end cocktail bar with a little bit of finger food. Definitely a great place to start or end an evening. If I lived here I'd be here very very often. Check it out for a drink (or two...)!
google avatar

Yelp
Great to see Tony! Go Noles! Good menu and great vibes... fun place to meet friends and walk DT after.

Yelp
The 20/20 was one of the best drinks I have EVER had. It was so fresh, smooth, a little spicy - everything I love in a drink and more. I have never seen carrot juice in a drink before but it just took the drink to the next level. I MUST learn to recreate it ASAP! There are tooooons of cocktail options here. If you are a unique cocktail lover like myself, I couldn't recommend this spot more. Drinks are between $13-$16 dollars (give or take) which honestly is fair for the quality of cocktails they serve. I've been charged $13 for a shitty tequila soda at many other places. This location right across from Jannus Live, a small concert venue for more indie artists, so this is a great place to grab a couple drinks before a show. My only complaint is that I wish they had more tequila options - there seemed to be a lot more dark liquor drinks which I'm meh about. But that's just me being selfish :)

Yelp
I've been here before for appetizers and cocktails and it was always good but today we had a full dinner and were pretty disappointed. We had the spicy tuna Bowl as an appetizer. There were four good-sized slices of seared ahi tuna which was a good portion, but the Japanese pickles were strange and overall the dish was flavorless. It was missing sweetness and the tanginess of pickled cucumbers or onions. There were shishito peppers but nothing was spicy in the dish so I'm not sure where the name even came from. The prime rib double dip was ok. It was full of fatty, chewy pieces of meat and was topped with very crunchy, salty pickled carrots and celery. A very strange choice to put in a sandwich. The bo ssam pork shoulder dish was deconstructed lettuce wraps. I love pork shoulder, but this was tough and extra fatty because they didn't cook it long enough. Again it came with the same strange overly salty pickled carrots and celery. We would not get any of our dishes again and I would wait until the next menu change before we return. On the positive side, our server was very friendly and they have a great daily happy hour which includes horse soldier old fashioneds for $8.

Yelp
Hit this place pre and post Janus show. We picked it randomly and it happened to be Happy Hour. Two people got takes on an old fashioned, which they really liked. I got a Guinness for $4, which.. nice. Service was great during Happy Hour. Not so great later. In fairness, it was past 10pm on a weeknight. Ambience was super chill and everything was clean and inviting.

Steve M.

Yelp
Service and food was great. I highly recommend this place. Made for an awesome evening. Will be back!

Yelp
Did some say amazing food at a cocktail bar? Not only can you order your old fashion or bees knees. This place has amazing food. A friend ordered the mkt steak for $65. And let me tell you, it was 3lb Tomahawk, side of roasted potatoes, and whole street corn. I don't think you can get a tomahawk steak at the butcher shop for that price. Let alone cooked by an executive chef and with delicious sides. Let's just say he shared and it was amazing! And of course you have to order the truffle fries, they are mouth watering! Not only do they serve the usual bar food like burgers and wings. They have a great dinner options like: Lamb, Chicken, Fish, etc. If you have a large party 6-10, they have special for only $249. They only need 72hrs notice. See attached photo of their billboard. Come'on! You get appetizer, sides and you can pick a protein like Tomahawk steak, 1/4 Pig, Peking duck, whole fish, etc. That's an amazing spread. You can add a 2nd protein for another 100. We are planning our next group dinner here for sure!

Yelp
The only reason for a missing star is because I did not try the food-YET! Atmosphere & Drinks were fantastic, Bartenders friendly with plenty of craft cocktails to choose from. Will be back to try the food next week!

Yelp
One of my favorite bars in downtown st.pete. Good music, food, service, and ambiance.

Yelp
Fantastic experience. we chose this place at random as out of towners and were so happy we did. the drinks were fantastic and the server was incredibly nice and helpful. Cool atmosphere and overall a great place for us to relax at on our last night in town.

Yelp
We spent the afternoon in St Pete as we had an appointment at specialty shop in Bay Walk. After that we walked around and sat outside at the 201 Club for a drink and then onto the Copper Shaker. Not having any expectations but we heard their cocktails are supposed to be very good. We got there during happy hour about 40 minutes before they would serve dinner. Ordered 2 items off the happy hour food menu; the smoked fish board and the flat bread margarita. Both were amazing and took us by surprise on how good it was. The smoke fish board had smoked tuna, smoked salmon and smoked Mahi fish spread. Also included various crackers and peppers. The flat bread had a Smokey taste to it that really made the flavor stand out. Living 30 miles away we don't make it to St Pete that often but for sure 100% we will be back. Now to the liquor. I don't recall what my wife had and I didn't partake in any cocktails but the liquor selection is unparalleled in west Florida. I am a Whistle Pig Rye fan and they had every Whistle Pig available including Boss Hog which is $495 a bottle at Total Wine. It was $120 for a 1.5 oz pour, but I have never seen it or any Whistle Pig above the 12 year at a bar. Super impressive.

Claudia A.

Yelp
Love this place so muchhhh! The service (Lauren),cocktails and food are 10/10. Highly recommend it but I will say I miss getting hibachi and ramen on Thursdays.
google avatar

Christopher R.

Yelp
My review is based on one drink. One drink, that was recommended by our server, different and had ingredients I was looking for to begin with. Scotch and gin? The same drink? Never seen that before and it was delicious! Way to go for a place to get creative with their cocktails in a time where everyone is a home bartender!
google avatar

Thomas H.

Yelp
This is a nice, comfortable, laid back establishment. I had the Big Ass Steak. Wow, so on point quality, presentation, preparation, service. Man, everything was so good. Definitely recommend for the solo traveler - give this place a go. It did not disappoint.
google avatar

Latese H.

Yelp
Vibe Music Food Drinks Service When I say everything about this is perfect I mean it. I had the best truffle fries that I have ever had today! They are layered perfectly. My boyfriend had the peach bourbon wings he ate them so fast I couldn't get a picture. This is a must check out spot in Saint Pete!
google avatar

Lara T.

Yelp
Great bar in downtown St. Pete but they are always busy on a weekend night. Not necessarily a bad thing but difficult time getting a drink if you are waiting at the bar. I do love the vibe and decor. It's attached to the Estate, the dance club next door. Drinks are very delicious, nice craft cocktails they offer. Parking is available on the street or in nearby paid garages.

Josh B.

Yelp
Great food. Great service. Great ambiance! Looking forward to going back on our next visit to St Pete!
google avatar

Cindy R.

Yelp
OMG we had a great time here! Bartender was A1, superb Old Fashioned cocktails and food too was fantastic! We loved it so much we had the chef some out so we could thank and tip him directly!
google avatar

Brigitte P.

Yelp
My sister and I came here on a whim (on a Monday night no less). It was relatively early in the evening, and we had no idea how long we would be staying. That brief "let's go grab a cocktail" turned into a fabulous evening meeting new friends and drinking some fine beverages. The cocktail menu alone is a reason to come here, but I gotta say, the bartenders are the reason to keep coming back. They are knowledgable, fun and friendly, and will try to concoct anything your heart desires even if it's not on the menu. The price is pretty good considering the quality of the drinks. I cannot wait to bring my husband here. Aesthetic Experience: 5/5 Bartenders: 5/5 Drinks: 5/5 Location: 5/5 Price: 4/5 - sometimes I'm a little cheap lol - though NEVER in tipping!

Yelp
Copper Shaker is a must stop for those in search of strong creative cocktails & a roomy bar decorated with some low key glamor flare! The other huge bonus point is that CS offers plant based options on the menu! When you are bored and over it with plain well drinks, upgrade your game by having a drink at CS. This is the perfect spot for cocktails that is near the beach drive strip but slightly off the beaten path. you have over a dozen (?) bar stools so it is a great spot for solo drinkers or travelers. it has large comfy booths that sit 6 comfortably. it also has a few long community tables too. Thanks to CS for offering several plant based options and roomy enough for groups (unlike Mandarin Hide) which is why we chose this place for drinks before our event. When a restaurant offers many different dietary options including vegan options it makes it easier to choose a place for groups and i dont think some places get that. CS gets it! our first round of cocktails were so good we all ordered another round. the service was attentive but not overbearing. our server was very knowledgable about the drinks and how they taste so that made ordering easier. omg, okay, Copper Shaker has not only succeeded in mixology it also created a bacon taste-a-like! oh yes, my plant based and veg curious friends - bacon taste without the whole animal slaughter thing. it was fried(?) shittake. And CS even offers vegan dipping sauces! No way! Yes, i know! Even if youre omni these things are like bacon flavored popcorn, you just want to cram the whole bowl down your mouth! Delicious! try it, if you think im wrong pm me and i will come down and eat what you dont want. X-D

Yelp
We love everything about this place. Food and drinks are on point. service is good too!

Yelp
Today I visited this bar for the first time, and we had a great time. The burgers and fries were delicious. Thanks to the beautiful and friendly waitresses and the photographer!

Yelp
This was one of the best combination dining/cocktail experiences I have ever had. I stumbled upon this location on vacation in St. Pete and I am so glad I did. Steak was incredible and the cocktails were well curated to my specific tastes. Talented staff who know what they're doing.
google avatar

Yelp
Great place to chill with friends and catch up, it's super casual and an easy place to just chill out, it gets super packed on the weekends but they have a outside space to sit at too if you feel too claustrophobic inside.
google avatar

Yelp
Good food, wonderful staff, yummy drinks consistently. I love the ambience and usually the people that go are a good crowd, social, but not rowdy.

Yelp
Amazing drinks! Talented bartenders! Excellent venue! We ended up here on a Friday night around 9pm and it was VERY busy. We were so lucky though because the minute we walked in, a couple sitting on the far left corner of the bar was just getting up to leave. Yay! I love sitting right at a bar and engaging with the bartenders! (If they're not too busy, of course) My first drink was the 20/20 - Tequila based drink with jalapeño tequila, blood orange, carrot, and lime. It was surprisingly delicious! The rim had some saltiness and spice to it as well...halfway through the drink I was done with the jalapeño - so I chugged it because can't let a great drink go to waste - but I was just ready for a different flavor profile. My husband wasn't sure what he wanted, but he was in the mood for dessert after a lovely dinner at The Mill, so he asked for something "creamy and fruity"...lol Without hesitation, Jason went to work. I wish I remembered exactly what was in the drink, but it was complex concoction that met all his needs - it was creamy/frothy (surely an egg white was shaken in), it was fruity as it had blackberries muddled and whole, and I know it had Old Scout bourbon. Hubs was def happy! Our second drink (and 3rd, 4th, and 5th...) was their Smoke Stack - a smoked old fashioned. My husband and I are Old Fashioned connoisseurs. We order it everywhere, we have them often, and we make them at home all the time. THIS was the absolute best smoked old fashioned (and probably just regular old fashioned) we have both had...probably ever! The balance between the bourbon bite, the maple sweetness, and the hint of smoke was PERFECTION. Needless to say, we drank those for the rest of the night - thank God for Uber... Will definitely be back!!!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I came in for date night a few months ago and Chef Berto really took care of us! Everything we had was absolutely delicious! The service was top notch. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. I accidentally spilled my wine and they were more than happy to bring me a replacement. I would highly recommend this place even if just stopping by for a drink and some quick bites. We will definitely be coming back over and over again! Thank you for the great food and personable hospitality.

Yelp
My husband and I have been here once before- late night, after a comedy show at The Mahaffey Theater in October of 2023. That time, bc we came and it was late, the kitchen was closed- which was understandable. But it can be a little misleading bc Yelp says they are open until 3am- but that is bar/drinks only which should be clarified somewhere in case you're looking for food. Again, that is a little annoying and misleading, but also understandable so I understood and wasn't upset. And I will say the drinks we had at that time were good. Service was ehh, not bad or good either way. Now fast forward to May of 2024, and we tried to go in around 9pm. This is a full bar and restaurant fyi. I asked at the door and was told the kitchen is open until midnight. A man stopped me as I walked in to ask if I wanted a table (or at least I assumed he was asking that) I was like "hey my husband and I are gonna try to sit at the bar, but it looks a little full so we will see, maybe we will need to get a table instead." I continued and said "my husband is paying the parking at the moment, but he will be right in, I need to use the restroom so I'm gonna go do that and when he comes in/I come out of the bathroom then we will decide where to sit." This man gave me the hardest time. He would not let me in and said I had to show ID and mind you this is a RESTAURANT, not just a bar and it was 9pm and the kitchen was fully open, per what I was told. Also, let me mention, I'm almost 33 and maybe (hopefully) I look a little young for my age, but I'm also clearly over 21. This isn't a case of truly thinking I'm underage, this is a case of "I hold the power and so I'll be a jerk just to be one 100%." I had no purse on me, nothing. And this was clear. My husband had my ID in his wallet, which I told this man and again I wasn't trying to order a drink (which I would understand asking for ID), I was only trying to go to the bathroom while my husband was paying for the parking and then meeting me inside where we planned to order DINNER and also drinks (with my ID once he came inside). I am shocked this place acted like this. Idk if this is standard policy or what, but for a RESTAURANT to not let people in and require ID is so strange. This is not a bar only place and these were not late night bar hours. I guess you can't bring kids/teens to eat dinner here- bc again this was just barely 9pm. This particular employee was so extremely rude, I was so turned off and at this point my husband walked up and I explained to him how this guy was acting and what he was saying. How he wouldn't let me in to get FOOD or use the bathroom, so we left and went elsewhere. Not once did he try to fix the situation or act like there was a misunderstanding, even once my even older than me husband walked up and had his wallet in hand. And let me make it clear I was dressed nicely. I wasn't dressed "questionably" etc- not that it would excuse the behavior either way, but just to paint a clear picture here. They need new staff for sure and I won't ever try this particular location again. I will say the Ybor location- which we have been to many times- has AMAZING, friendly staff/bartenders and great food and drinks!! We normally sit at the bar and love it. Try that location instead of this one, unless you want to be harassed for no reason. I think they should brush up on Florida Law as well bc if you have a full menu like they do, they can't turn people away like that and I truly don't even get the reasoning. It was very disappointing and honestly disrespectful.
