The Cheese and Pear “Raviolino” was one of the best dishes I’ve ever eaten. If it wasn’t my last night in Florence I would be going back. My wife enjoyed the Spaghetti with fresh tomato sauce and basil, the basics done extremely well. We shared the eggplant parmigiana to start. Overall a 5 ⭐️ experience

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ So glad we found this place during our Florence stay! The atmosphere is warm and intimate, the service was friendly and attentive, and the food was fantastic. The pear ravioli was as delicious, and unique. The filletto was the best steak I ate while in Florence, and the seasonal mushrooms were a solid add-on.

Visited in March 2013 - I slipped in at the very tail end of Sunday lunch, a lucky seat on a coffee table in the corner while families lingered over their courses. The room buzzed with three generations sharing the ceremony of weekend dining - a joy to watch as much as to join. I went straight for their signature raviolini with pecorino and pear, a dish flagged in Frommers and Lonely Planet. It was almost perfect: pasta delicate, pear subtle, pecorino seasoning just shy of brilliance (9.5/10). Lamb chops with artichokes and rocket brought good quality meat and crisp coating, though it wanted more seasoning; the artichokes were spot-on (8/10). Dessert was Laura’s recommendation - raspberry cheesecake, creamy yet sharp, crumb with a hint of savoury, a lovely close with espresso (8.5/10). Coquinarius hits that balance of stylish but relaxed, where you can watch the rhythm of Florentine family life unfold around the food.

We came to here for dinner. The atmosphere was great 👍 The swordfish carpaccio, paired with salad greens, fresh fennel, and pink grapefruit, was exquisite — the peppercorns added a delightful burst of flavor with each bite. The main course, Millefoglie di Cecina, a refined tower of codfish layered with chickpeas, spinach, and a velvety purple cabbage purée, proved to be another remarkable surprise The beef tenderloin, paired with foie gras, created a perfect harmony of flavors on the palate

One of the best spots in Florence. Amazing natural wine list, delicious seasonal food, and the kindest, most knowledgeable staff ever. They really care about what they serve. Trust their wine recs — they nailed it. 🍷✨

While everything here was good, the pistachio ravioli was the strong standout dish for me. Great service too, and a charming interior

If you've read the reviews, then you know that the service is terrible....or that a handful of very strange people with no patience came to this absolute gem of a restaurant, managed to find a way to dislike the wonderful owners/staff and top notch food, and feel like they should spread their nonsense on the internet. More than anything, those fools gave us a hilarious way to start our meal by telling the owners that we read the silly reviews and, even better, read their even funnier responses, and that had sealed our interest in a visit. This was, quite simply, one of the best meals we have had in Italy. If we were slightly skeptical, it was because it is literally around the corner from the Duomo. But any hesitancy was gone as soon as we entered the door because vibe was relaxed and had a mix of locals and tourists, and the food smelled amazing. Clearly the two front-of-house staff (and maybe the owners?) were busy, but it felt like you entered someone's home and the hosts were tending to everyone like family. We walked up to them and said we had a reservation, and we had a table and drinks quickly. It's Europe, and Italy in particular, so the Americans complaining about bad service just don't understand dining in other places. We took our time, had great conversations with our hostess (flagging her down if needed) and the food....oh man, the food was just wonderful. We sampled our way across the menu, and I was only disappointed by my lack of capacity to eat 3 or 4 more dishes because each of them looked amazing. At the end of it all, our hostess smilingly brought us some celebratory limoncello to wrap up the meal, and we left very fat and very happy. I would make this our first meal of the trip on our next trip to Florence. Thank you, Coquinarius!

AMAZING! We got the pear and cheese ravioli and the braised boar. Both were incredible! Great service and atmosphere. Highly recommend!!!

Fire. I was fired tf up after this meal. Tuna tartare was insane, so fresh. The pear ravioli was insannne. The Steak and foie gras was wooooooooh, it was fire. Also for an appetizer we got the eggplant parm which was amazing. Also the ambience was great and on top of that, they had glass bricks!!! Amazing!! And service was great. The lighting was great. This place was just great!

Wifey got the tasting menu for 55 euros. She had it before and got it again. She shared a small taste of everything with me. She had chopped liver, eggplant ravioli, beef with potatoes and flourless chocolate cake. I got the pear and cheese ravioli which was very good. She had a taste as part of her order. I asked if they had spinach but they didn't. Server suggested a salad with veggies. Had it with olive oil and it was great. Reasonable at six euros. The coperti was three euros each. A charge that goes to the restaurant. They did bring a bread basket. Better than a chain restaurant in the states. It was cozy with nice soft music playing.

The pear ravioli was wonderful. So flavorful and different. This restaurant has a different, creative menu. My hubby had a hard time selecting a meal. He doesn't care for rabbit. And there were a couple of those dishes.

Try the pear and cheese raviolini. Our eyes rolled back in our heads from this exquisite dish! Next, we had the chicken and avocado mixed greens salad with fresh tomatoes and a balsamic reduction. Perfect, light and delicious. The atmosphere is cozy and unpretentious. Five stars are not enough for this wonderful establishment and the love with which the food was prepared. Martina cared for us like the restaurant was her home. Thank you for being a highlight in Florence dining for us!

Superb! My wife and I ate here on our last night in Florence, and it was a sensational experience. We both ordered the 6-course tasting menu with wine pairings and would highly, highly recommend. The courses were well thought out, and it was exceptional value considering all that we enjoyed over the nearly 2.5 hour experience (that is to say, it was paced very nicely for our tastes). Our waiter was friendly and quite accommodating. I would especially recommend to anyone who likes tasting menus. It is a rare treat to find one at this level at such a good value.

Nice ambiance. The food was delicious. I had the crepes with spinach and ricotta with bechamel sauce. Service was adequate.

I recommend the pear ravioli pasta and the chicken liver pate appetizer. The staff spoke English which was very helpful.

Good as very good. Felt bad for the staff as there was one server and one runner for a packed restaurant. How they managed, I will not know.

I accidentally made an RSVP on the wrong day but they were sweet enough to let us dine right then and there. We also got there right when they opened at 7pm and it wasn't completely full. I would recommend making an RSVP as they fill up quickly and seem to prefer it. They were good with my food allergies and I felt comfortable ordering. Servers we really nice and caring and food came very quickly. We started with the eggplant and it was so creamy and savory. Cleaned the whole plate up by finishing the sauce with bread. LOVED the pear and Parmesan tortellini. The aged Parmesan paired so well with the butter and the sweetness from the pears. The ravioli was savory and yummy but not outstanding when compared with the pear tortellini. We followed up with the pork which on its own was only ok. However, when paired with the jam it really came to life. Didn't love the mash that was on the side of the pork, sadly. Dessert was the strawberry tiramisu which tasted good but nothing like tiramisu. It was fresh cream with strawberries. Only the cake was slightly soaked but really couldn't taste it. It tasted much more like a strawberry shortcake. Lastly, we finished with a shot of limoncello which was included at the end. Overall, we really enjoyed our meal and the experience. Would love to be back.

Coquinarius is a nice dining option if you're in Florence. We were able to get in without a reservation, but probably because we got there early in the evening. hits: pear and cheese ravioli - really unique and flavorful. It was my first time having this combo in a ravioli and was pleasantly surprised. pistachio and onion ravioli - first time having this type of sauce was it was pretty amazing. The flavors are delicate but not boring and the pasta is really well made. Our server was really sweet. We decided to skip dessert but she brought the kids a small slice of chocolate cake anyway which was sweet. misses: gnocchi with tomato sauce - this was pretty bland and not the best we had in Italy. But we got it for our kids to share and they didn't mind the blandness.

Reservations required if you want a chance at getting a table! We wanted a glass of wine when we landed and popped in at 6pm which is very early for Italy. We couldn't get a proper table but they were gracious enough to let us get off our feet and put us at a small metal table by the door. It was fine by me. We ordered two glasses of wine (rose' and Chianti) and shared the charcuterie board. It contained cheese, meats, chicken liver, sausage, toast and bread. Quite delicious but so much food. Was offered a complimentary shot of limoncello once we got the bill. Very intimate, great service and wonderful wine.

Had dinner here a couple nights ago. Intimate spot. The staff speak English. The food was excellent. We had a zucchini salad which was very fresh and the octopus starter was also good. My friend had the pasta with pistachio pesto and said she loved it. Wine selection also good. And it's in a nice area to walk around after. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Florence.

Excellent food!! I chose to indulge with the tasting menu that included the wine pairing!! Every bite was fantastic!! I highly recommend this restaurant!

Excellent the vegetable crumble was amazing, richly decadent and delicious. Savory vegetable tart with perfect crumb topping. Cod was stacked and was also inventive and tasty, with meaty taste and the blue potatoes were a puréed side, after so much boar pasta it was a nice change. I also ordered a spritz drink and I really enjoyed that as well. I got squeezed in and the restaurant only has two servers I was thankful they were able to accommodate me and I was happy to be patient. Both parties seated next to me where great people, so that was added benefit. Will try again next time I visit Florence. Ciao!

I had the pear and cheese tortellini, which was delicious (though I wish the portion was bigger). I also tried my boyfriend's eggplant parm, which was good. The service, however, was friendly but very slow (it looked like only two servers were working in the whole restaurant).

The food was outstanding. The 6 of us had the wine pairing dinner and it rocked. Set in a very centuries-old building, with decor to match. Everyone who worked was so passionate about the place - felt lucky to have found it!

Definitely recommend this restaurant if you find yourself in Florence. We ordered the 6 course tasting menu and were very pleased with both the quality and the flavor of the food. Both the tasting menu and the wine pairing were well thought out. Our favorite was the pear and cheese ravioli, easily our favorite pasta of Florence. Only downside to the tasting menu was the lack of tiramisu as the desert. Service was adequate, with only two people covering the entire restaurant. However, never really felt that we were waiting around for our server. Ambiance was beautiful and felt very authentic. Great restaurant overall!

(4.5 stars) Dinner here on our first night in Florence was lovely. We had a late train into the city and walked in around 10:30pm. The restaurant was authentically charming and peaceful, and thankfully the kitchen was still open. The menu is surprisingly affordable too so sharing multiple (pasta) dishes is advisable. We shared a bunch of the pastas, all of which were different and worth getting for sure. The standout was the pear and cheese raviolini, which has such an interesting balance of flavors that it's an absolute must. The gnocchi was unbelievably soft and pillowy, and absorb the fresh and vibrantly red tomato sauce. The wild boar ragu was savory and tender, not overpowering the pasta but also somehow not heavy at all. Oh and the Tuscan red wines are lovely. The only thing that was disappointing was the bread to start the meal, but that seems to be a recurring theme throughout Italy.

This was our last evening in Florence. If we had gone our first night, I am certain we would have ate here again on this trip.

Coquinarius was one of our favorite restaurants in Florence and Rome. Ambiance is really nice and the staff was so kind and friendly. The two appetizers we had were to die for - a delicious eggplant with burrata cream and some sort of vegetable crepe dish with spinach and cheese that was insanely good. The cheese and pear raviolino was the perfect combo of sweet and savory. I recommend sharing dishes there since the portion sizes are nice and everything is just so good. They also recommended a great bottle of wine for us. Highly recommend!

A little difficult to find, walked past it a couple of times. Apparently reservations are recommended but we got lucky with a large party leaving a communal table. Starters: Cheese & Salami Plate had a lot of variety with 5 cheeses and 5 different types of salami. Great to share! Crostini with Chicken Liver Pate was 3 large crostini with an ample amount of Chicken Liver Pate smeared on it. It tasted slightly smoky and not as livery as I expected. Entree: Cheese and Black Pepper Ravioli with mushrooms and truffle sauce was absolutely delicious. The pasta was soft and silky and the cheese filling perfectly melted in your mouth. I love mushrooms and they were very earthy. The truffle sauce added a layer of depth and luxury to the dish. I asked for a half portion because I was already feeling a bit full from the starters. Service was just okay but I'd be interested in coming back if I'm in Florence again.

We wandered in by chance, as this restaurant is on the same street with some other favorite places - the bookshop Paperback Exchange and the Enoteca Alessi. Because we were early for dinner, we were able to get a table - reservations of course are recommended, you may not be so lucky. It filled up very quickly, and there was quite a line outside as we left. It deserves its popularity, as it's a really nice break from usual touristy places. The food was great. I especially liked the vintage posters on the walls, which gave it a nice connection with an older Italian period, since the decor otherwise was modern, and the menu generally updates more traditional items. Wine selection so impressive, with knowledgeable, passionate wine "sommelier" literally running from table to table. We found service very attentive, but with the typical long wait for the check. Will be back.

Decent spot for lunch. I heard dinner was nearly impossible to make reservations for. Check-in process was definitely awkward. They had us stand around while there were clearly open and set tables. Maybe it was a staffing issue. The cheese-pair ravioli was interesting, never had anything like that before. We also had another ravioli (shrimp/crab I think?) and a salad. Both items were very tasty.

I did a TON of research for where to dine during our 2 weeks in Italy. This place was at the top of the list from many sources. Amazing pasta, great wine. One of the highlights on our trip to Florence!!

This restaurant is my favorite in Florence. My party and I arrived before opening time at around 1745. We were asked by the waitress if we had a reservation but didn't and were told that they had to check and see if any tables were available. Luckily we were able to be seated but were told that we had to finish by 2030 since someone had a reservation which was no problem. I ordered the pear ravioli and a glass of rose wine. Both were very delicious. The other people in my party ordered ravioli, gnocchi, and some other types of pastas which were all very good. When we got our bill, we realized that they had try to charge us for a whole bottle of rose wine when we had only ordered different wines by the glass. Make sure you check your bill before paying. I'd recommend checking out this restaurant while visiting Florence.

Was really looking forward to dining here, but ultimately left a bit disappointed. Make no mistake, the quality of the food is really high, and their pear ravioli is one of the best pasta dishes I've ever tried. Service is non-personal and brisk, and the seating is pretty tight. That being said, even with a reservation it's a disaster of confusion at the door. There's no host/hostess and the three people that are running the entire restaurant are doing exactly that... bussing tables, bringing out orders, etc while a mass of humanity stands around in the middle of the dining room looking for any type of help. There's literally no place to hang out and wait for your table, no bar or anything... so you either stand around in the middle of people trying to enjoy their dinner or outside in the street. Bottom line is that while this place certainly is popular, there are lots of better options for you in the city.

The pear and parmesan ravioli was my favorite meal of my entire Italy trip! I almost ordered another one! The restaurant is also really pretty and they have good customer service. Highly recommend!

We liked them! Made a reservation for an early weeknight dinner. The pear and cheese ravioli was exquisite. Such amazing sauce for the ravioli, I would eat it on everything. Their crostini was also quite delicious. We need to remember to stop ordering beef tartare from restaurants. It sounds good on the menu but isn't fun to taste when it arrives at the table. It's plain alone, the salad is plain, and the sauce is way too strong so we couldn't use it sparingly on the tartare. Fantastic service - they didn't have that many staff, but one of them noticed that we hadn't finished the tartare and asked why we didn't like it. He then explained how Italians typically eat their beef tartare, and comped it. Thank you!

After hiking to the top of the Duomo on the evening of Valentines Day, our party of 8 walked by this charming restaurant without a reservation. They didn't think they could accommodate us, but really wanted to serve our party. They put our group front and center. It was a wonderful experience, fresh food and great service. We had the gnocchi, salmon salad, pasta and bread. Loved it! The chocolate cake was creamy and tasty.

We decided to make a reservation here after seeing it listed on Eater's best of list for Florence. We chose it because it offered a more friendly menu for people who don't eat red meat or pork (which is dominant in Tuscan cuisine). Perhaps that's where we went wrong, but the food here was just strange and underwhelming. The octopus dish came with only one overcooked tentacle but a large heap of mashed garbanzo beans (essentially hummus) and some overly lemony wilted greens. The burrata ravioli in pistachio pesto also contained a ton of pickled red onions, which gave the whole dish a sweet taste that completely overpowered everything else. The service was good (despite there being only one waitress for the entire restaurant), but you'd be better off going to one of the many other options in the city.

This place is divine, pasta was so fresh and tasty.. pistachio pasta and pear and ricotta pasta!!! Heaven in your mouth. Atmosphere is quiet and really perfect! A hidden gem. Went there last year in September and always recommend it to friends traveling to Florence!!

This place is absolutely amazing. Wonderful hospitality, and that goes a long ways in a place full of tourist traps. The food was fantastic. We had the Brie honey almond appetizer. I ordered the pear pasta and my wife had the seafood raviolis. Everything was perfect. The owner was super nice. They ended it with a complimentary dessert and they also gave us a free starter to taste. And that was on top of the starter we already ordered. Highly suggest coming here if you are in Florence.

delicious food, friendly service, and did not feel touristy in any way. we got the sacchetti with pear and burrata, pistachio pesto ravioli, beef tenderloin, and tiramisu. every dish was perfect (!) but i'll probably think about that pear sacchetti for the next few years...

We made a reservation and shortly after we arrived they had to start turning people away. There were only three people working so everything was a bit slow. We waited for every step from ordering the water, to the wine and finally the food. There was a gentleman that helped with the wine and his selection was quite good. The food was very good and worth the wait. For a wine the food was above average. If you do not mind waiting it is worth it.

Walked in when passing by. If you were looking for this place, I'm sure you'd miss it. Non-descript and easily missed. Very close to the Duomo so would be an easy stop on the tour. We had a few crostinis, the avocado cream and dried tomato with feta. Both were delicious. Served with arugula for topping and the peppery taste went perfect with the crostini. Also had a bottle of Ottomani, a local Tuscan white that was smooth as a baby's bottom. Dark chocolate cake for dessert had us ordering a second. A creamy delicious dark chocolate that doesn't kick you in the mouth with bitterness. Great place to chill and talk with friends. We were lucky to have walked in with no reservation. They had a cancellation and took us in. Would definitely recommend a reservation, easily made online at there website. We are already booked to come back in two days (our last night in Florence)! Do yourself a favor, make a Reservation and enjoy a delicious meal with great wine and a casual atmosphere!

Amazing!! This place is in a great spot! Close to the duomo but not right on it so it's less touristy! The ambience is great and feels like a nice Italian. The service is also great. We had to wait a bit even during the low season but it was worth it! We first tried all the appetizers and I would say the pate is delicious!! I would definitely say that was the best. The plates are also good. We tried all the pastas and those were also all good. I can't even select which one. Quality, cooking, seasoning, plating...everything is great ;) Bottom line...definitely come here for good Tuscan food!

LOVE THIS PLACE! I was debating to go back the next night and not try other restaurants even though we only have 4 nights in Florence this time. At first I wasn't quite sure about this place cuz this younger female staff just doesn't seem friendly and don't talk to us at all, but later we found out she just doesn't really speak English so probably not feeling comfortable to talk to us which is understandable. Our waiter, I think he might also be the manager, was very knowledgeable when it comes to wine! I wasn't sure which ones to pick from and he was talking to us about the selections and let us try couple of them, even let the open bottles sit on our table to let it breath before we pour it. Just kinda unusually trusting I guess. Anyway, and the food.... omg it's good! I had the pasta with deer and hubby had the beef pici! Goes so well with the wine it's insane! We decided to not get dessert there and go get gelato instead. But the staff sent over a slice of chocolate cake and man it was perfect! Not too big but great size for two people to share! Usually in Italy they would have cover charge so you don't give a lot of tip unless you like the service, here they don't have the cover charge so we tip them like we would in US, but it's by choice and not like you have to. I'm sure next time we come back to Florence, this would be on our itinerary! Oh and make reservation, I'm not sure they will seat you if you don't have one! Italians would rather have the seats reserved and sit there empty than just seat anybody walks in! :)

Hands down, the best pasta we had on our trip to Italy. The manager was also lovely and hand picked delicious wine for us to sample during our dining experience. The pear and cheese tortelini was THE BEST. Seriously, I'm still craving it a few weeks later. We also enjoyed the pistachio ravioli. sooooo yummy. The next time I'm in Florence, I will definitely return to Coquinarius.

Very good location if you go seeing Duomo in Florence. It has free wifi. I got boar, still water and red wine then it was 28 EUR with tax & service fee. I think the price is really reasonable. They have English menu and staff speak fluent English. No Amex. フィレンツェのカセドラル近くのイタリアン。Wi-Fi使える。イノシシと赤ワインと水でサービス料と税込で28ユーロ。食事に見合った金額だと思う。英語のメニューがあるし、店員さんも英語で対応してくれた。アメリカンエクスプレスは使えなかった。

Great wine, delicious pasta, fresh salads, amazing atmosphere, and unbeatable price for the quality. A definite must when you are in Florence. We didn't make a reservation but if you can, I would recommend doing so!

SO GOOD. I had the pici, which was by far the finest meal I've had in Florence. (And I've had some really good food here.) At the end of our meal, our server offered each of our party of 4 a shot of limoncello that she had made herself, which was the perfect end to a great dining experience. The bill, including tax, came to €108.50.

The food was incredible. You have to try the pear ravioli. One of my favorite dishes ever. Service was wonderful and atmosphere was great! Highly recommend.

Had a lovely evening here. Glad to escape he tourist trap type places you find near the Duomo. Trust the other yelpers and me - you have to try the pear ravioli. It is pretty amazing. I took several lactaids to share a bit from my husband's plate! We also enjoyed a simple artichoke salad and the gnocchi. They are known for great wine selection so we let the waiter advise and we were happy. We would definitely be back next time we come to Florence. Enjoyed the vibe and menu here better than most of the places we tried.

Terrible experience! It was a little too easy to get a reservation, and now I know why. This place was incredibly touristy (as many things in Florence are) but seemed to also cater to tourists' ideas of what Italian food is supposed to be. Not good. The first table we were seated at was broken. As it was quite far from where my chair was, I went to scoot the table in a bit and, lo and behold, the broken leg reveals itself, much to my surprise, as the entire contents of the table slide to the floor with an alarming crash. Not a great way to start the evening. It could've easily been salvaged, however, with good food and good service. Sadly, we had none of that. The menu was uninspiring, but, even had I been inspired, after we moved tables and got some wine (that took about 15 minutes), it was a good 30 minutes before anyone made any effort to come over to see if we needed anything. And this, of course, is after the trauma of the first table! By that time, we had decided to finish our wine, cut our losses, and go eat somewhere else. There's a lot of great food in Florence. Don't waste your time here.

WOW! This place is GREAT! First off, i would not have discovered this place had it not been for E. Minchelli's "eat Florence" App (I bought it on itunes)... turned out this wine bar/restaurant was right around the corner from the hotel my husband and I were staying at, so needless to say, we ended up here quite a lot and were never disappointed! For starters, the wine list is good and the servers are even better than the menu (as in, ASK THEM what you should drink), which makes for an ideal situation if you are not familiar with local Italian wines. As for the food, I loved everything I had! The rabbit pasta definitely earned the medal for the 2nd best tasting food I've had to date. Their boar carpaccio was quite tasty as well as the crostini mixto. I feel it safe to say that Coquinarius is quite the popular spot for food and drink because you DEFINITELY need a reservation for the evening (although I did notice the staff would do their best at seating tables--even if it meant "be gone in one hour"). Regardless, this is def not a place you want to miss due to the great wine menu, delicious food and EXCELLENT service. *should also mention it is very close to the cathedral so it can be a lunch spot as well!

Total tourist trap! The service was really slow and we were in no need to rush but it took us forever to get our wine. We ordered a couple items to snack on before dinner. First off they came on those cheesy Denny's / Sizzler clear plates and neither dish was good. The food was a bad interruption of what Americans think quality Italian food should be. We quickly shot gunned our wine and went to an old standby for dinner. Some times you just need to know when to get out and move on. At least you will have this warning.

No, no, no, no, no! My friend and I set out on a two week foodie adventure to Italy and Paris, and we were very excited to kick things off at Coquinarius, which was highly, highly recommended by my friend's friend. Ohhhhhh, what a shaaaameeee to have wasted a dinner at Coquinarius! The place itself is charming. It's near the hustle and bustle of town, close to the Duomo and other neighborhood eats. A lot of yelpers have complained about the service here, but we actually had no problems with the service. In fact, our waitress was very pleasant, and made sure that we were enjoying our meal. UNFORTUNATELY, she was so sweet that we couldn't break it to her that the food was TERRIBLE. I honestly believe that my meal at Coquinarius was one of the worst meals I have ever had to date. We ordered the charcuterie plate, which had some decent meats, but for the most part, it simply reminded me of cold cuts I could purchase at my local trader joe's. I didn't want to complain about it, especially so early on in our meal, so I pretended to enjoy the meats until the main dishes arrived. I ordered the highly recommended pear and ricotta ravioli, and my friend ordered the beef cheeks. Uf. Just thinking about these dishes just makes me gag. The ravioli was sooo rubbery, and it literally tasted like microwaveable pasta that had been under-nuked. And the beef cheeks... gawwwwwd, the beef cheeks! I am not even exaggerating when I say that it tasted like super bad airplane food. The flavor was like baaaad gravy.... And the texture of the meat was... something like... fully thawed meat that is not cooked at all, but left out for a day. I don't even know what that was. We took bite after bite, trying desperately to like the food. But, after forcing about a quarter of our dishes down our throats, we just gave up on trying to like Coquinarius. It was such a terrible start to our epic food adventure. Thankfully, there were a number of other restaurants that made up for it, but still... WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! I cannot recommend this place, and, in fact, this is one place I would go out of my way to tell people to avoid. So, YOU, find some other good eats on Firenze! WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT WASTE A MEAL HERE!

this place is slightly off the beaten path and we're so happy to have heard about it. The couple who was on our Vatican tour said this was one of their favorite places and that its a must try in Florence. I remembered their comment but put it on my mental back burner. But the next night while at Ad Hoc, another couple we were chatting with said they went here too and it was amazing. I honestly don't think we would have discovered it if it were not for those couples. I guess it doesn't hurt to chat with friendly folks. The staff here is amazingly friendly. We became buddies with the waitress and she kept giving us Eurocup semi final updates. We had a lighter meal here after eating way too much in Rome but it was YUM! We did their shared appetizer platter and had their tagilatel with rabbit ragu. I would say this was the best pasta of our stay. Highly rec!

Sooooo good that we had dinner there twice in 4 days!! The best dish was the Cheese and Pear Raviolini...unique flavor and very tasty. We also enjoyed the Burrata Raviolotti with Onions and Pistachio and Gnocchi with Tomato and Basil. The Crepe with Radish was so-so. Also good salads and wine. Try to make a reservation. Several walk-ins were turned away. The staff were very friendly and helpful. This place was definitely a highlight of our Italy vacation.
