I don’t even know how i found this place, i think it probably was a recommendation off reddit, but i’m really glad that I did. I celebrated my anniversary here and surprisingly it was just my wife and I at the counter. It felt intimate and meaningful. We have eaten at many sushi restaurants from varying price points, and i’ve got to say this is probably the best place in New York that i’ve tried. When i say that every dish was delicious, it was an understatement. Everything was perfect and Robby Cook is just a great chef without question. If you care spare the money, love sushi and sashimi, rest assured this place checks all the boxes. You get thrills, frills, and a plethora of flavors and textures. Could not stop thinking about this meal, even as I write this review at 5 in the morning the day after.

My partner and I dined on a Thursday night. This restaurant is hidden inside Point Seven. It felt very exclusive and intimate. The space was beautifully decorated and spacious for a 10-seater Omakase bar. I've travelled to many parts of Japan and I will have to say, the ingredients they use are comparable, if not, closest to what you'll find in Japan. I'm more of a traditional sushi gal and so for me, the latter part of the fixed menu were my favourite. On the other hand, my partner enjoyed the first part of the menu. He appreciated the complexity of the sauces mixed together with the sashimi. We don't drink alcohol so we ordered 2 non-alcoholic beverages. My favourite one tasted like a pina colada. It was so good we ordered it twice. Overall, for the price point and the freshness of the ingredients used in each dish is well worth it. I would come back again for a special occasion, or, if I somehow win the lottery and can dine like a queen/king everyday. The only comment I have is I wish it had one or two more courses of hot food to offset the room temperature dishes. Nonetheless, I left very full and happy. Chef Robby was great. He interacted with all the guests and explained each course to you which I enjoyed. Give this place a try before it gets way too popular!

Google
One if the best omakases I've been to in the last year, Coral is tucked away in a beautiful dining room hidden behind Point Seven restaurant at the Met Life building. Chef Robby Cook uses premium quality seafood for his dishes and it's a nice mix of sashimi / crudo starters and sushi nigiri pieces. Each of the 17 courses is thoughtful, even the miso soup which had wild caught shrimp from Montauk. This meal was truly fantastic and felt personable.

Google
Beautiful experience. Truly an exquisite meal 5 stars all around. The chef took my gluten allergy very seriously and checked in with me when I arrived, and made thoughtful alternatives for me when necessary. Thank you, Chef 🙏

Google
They seated our many guests without wait time and provided excellent service. The people working here are notably friendly. This place delivers on atmosphere, on food and on everything else. The food quality contributes to overall enjoyment. This restaurant fills a void in local options.

This restaurant defies simple explanation. The food keeps getting better. I trust the restaurant won't change its approach. The entire staff maintains exceptional standards. My time at this restaurant was memorable.

Google
Amazing experience. Went for Valentine’s Day. Robby was an amazing chef. Super nice to talk to. Every course was better than the last - best sushi I had outside of Japan! They were also very accommodating to my dietary restrictions. Highly recommended for a special occasion.

Yelp
Top notch omakase experience by Robby Cook. The private chef's counter is housed in a room in the Point 7 seafood restaurant attached to Grand Central. The service is friendly and polished. The variety of courses is wonderful. Chef starts with a few cold plated appetizers followed by the sushi pieces which are presented to you on a simple plate to be grabbed with your fingers. Feels very authentic in this way. And yet, Chef Robby has his own personal touches with dessert and chocolates to go, which are packaged with a print out of the menu enjoyed that night. I really loved this experience. Best to go soon before the secret gets out.

Yelp
Speakeasy Japanese omakase place situated inside point seven restaurant. Currently only one seating at 6pm for like 10 ppl sitting sushi bar. Nice service by chef sommelier and one other staff. Arrived 5:30pm went to bar area at point seven for cocktails. Very busy on Thursday. Proceed to sushi room at 6 and chef starts serving soon after. Premier ingredients beyond normal omakase. Chef engaging explaining every dishes. Other staffs very attentive. Wine/sake pairing 180/person. Very good pairing This is a very nice experience

Yelp
We came here for a friend's birthday. And it was a absolutely beautiful experience we had the best time with Chef Robby Cook and his sous chef (forgive me - we did not catch his name ) but they were the best. The atmosphere was great and everyone was so attentive. With me having some food allergies -- Chef Robby was sooo accommodating ... love him for that. We had the best time & the omakase was superb. A MUST try.

Yelp
This is a great place Robbie was at Morimoto when I first met him and my friend Tiana loved him . Now another friend Steve got me a seat at his new place and it's 17 courses for $300 and worth it
