Cordis Shanghai Hongqiao

We stayed here for one night before catching the high-speed train from Hongqiao Station to Hangzhou the next day.||The hotel is conveniently located near Hongqiao Railway Station, though be prepared for a bit of walking since the station itself is quite large. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. They greeted us warmly every time we passed by.||There’s also a small mall nearby where you can find daily necessities and some dining options. Overall, we had an enjoyable and pleasant stay.

I must say that my overall experience staying at Cordis Shanghai Hongqiao was truly wonderful. The hotel room was modern, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. The buffet breakfast was also a highlight, with an excellent variety of high-quality options that catered well to both oriental and western tastes. Although the concierge staff sometimes came across as a little loud, which may be perceived by some guests as less courteous, this was more than balanced by the exceptional service we received elsewhere. In particular, the manager Abby, along with Chloe and Amy from the Lobby Lounge, really stood out. Their professionalism, genuine warmth, and friendly manner made our very first visit to Shanghai and China feel especially welcoming and memorable. The location of the hotel is another strong advantage. It is within easy walking distance of the National Exhibition and Convention Centre (NECC) and Hongqiao Railway Station. From there, Metro Line 10 provides convenient connections to many of Shanghai’s well-known attractions, while Line 2 links directly to Pudong International Airport. The surrounding area also offers plenty of shopping and dining choices, adding to the convenience. Overall, I would wholeheartedly recommend Cordis Shanghai Hongqiao to anyone visiting Shanghai. It offers excellent service, comfort, and convenience, and I would gladly return on a future trip.

Perfect for Hongqiao transportation, rooms are comfortable and the staff at reception were very helpful and had good English. Lots of restaurants etc nearby. Two things to improve: my room smelt of cigarette smoke despite notices warning customers not to smoke. Breakfast was mostly Chinese, which is OK, but the western options like fried eggs, bacon and fried potato were sad and cold. They need to cook less of them at a time and replace them more often. The same is true for some Chinese options like fried buns. I would stay again though.

Rooms were clean. Front desk staff were ok. Just that after registering us, they just gave the room keys without further explanation on where to take the lift, WiFi password etc, so lacking in the finer points of service. Overall ok

we arrived very late in the night and stayed for a few hours to catch the train early morning. very convenient location. easy walking underground to train station. the receptionist meggie upgraded our room. wish we could stay longer.

My family was treated like royalty. Was brought to lvl 11 for express checkin when the wait at lobby got a bit long. Everything feels luxurious. Sorry I didn’t get the name of the guy that attended to us and made us feel so welcome. Staff are all very professional in attire and attitude Robot service for delivery and drinks is super convenientBest stay out of 5 accommodations I stayed this trip. Cordis is now our benchmark for a good hotelNothing much in vicinity.

This was our fifth time staying at the Cordis Hotel Shanghai Hongqiao, and we were extremely pleased again by the outstanding service and incredibly helpful staff!||A special shout-out to Karen and Kris at the front desk – they were exceptionally friendly and accommodating, making sure that all our requests were handled with care and efficiency. Their warm hospitality made us felt right at home!||Also, a BIG thank you to Harris, the breakfast chef. My mom is a vegetarian, and he went above and beyond ensure that she had options to eat every morning.
