"Tucked into Saint-Henri’s bustling restaurant row you’ll find Cordova: an all-purpose café-bar serving up top tier lattes by day, and alcohol (think creative cocktails, natural wine, and beer) by night. The luminous space touts tons of natural light, Mediterranian-inspired decor, and just about twenty seats, making it a great spot for a first date or a catch-up with old pals." - Kaitlyn McInnis

"A fairly new addition to St-Henri, Cordova experiments with classic ingredients to make creative open sandwiches, croquettes, and other small plates. Its menu also sports quite a range of conservas — high quality canned, preserved seafood that will make you rethink any aversion to tinned fish. The cocktails are equally playful; it’s also a café by day, and comes with a dog-friendly terrasse." - Karin Murray-Bergquist

"Although it’s relatively new to the neighbourhood, Cordova has quickly become a well-loved mainstay for St-Henri locals and their dogs. Cordova is a great place to just come and relax, study, and enjoy a drink, coffee, or light food. The front door does have a sign for 18+ as well, so a fair warning for those who want to enjoy coffee younger than that. The barista was very bubbly and nice, and knew English and French. She was helpful in answering questions about the menu - I can see that she was friendly as well, conversing with various customers and things of the like. I got a Vanilla Iced Latte and a Cortada - both of which were lovely! Strong espresso. I found myself very comfortable here, would come again.

We weren’t sure at first about coming here for a quick coffee at around lunchtime on Saturday, but it’s a great thing we followed the neon “espresso” sign in their window. Staff is super friendly and welcoming and the butter croissant…extremely buttery! After speaking with the friendly people here, I’ll likely try to come back again but later in the day for a cocktail, because if they’re anything close to the great coffees we’ll be well-served. Take a look at the attached picture of their menu for a preview. Cheers,

I stopped by after a run and got an iced latte. The coffee tastes amazing! (Btw no pastries if you are looking for sweets) there’s a large terrace where you can chill with your furry friend🤍

Google
fabulous coffee, and a great study spot. I got the americano with some oat milk and it was rich, creamy, not over roasted, smooth and wasn’t too watery. the atmosphere is that of tour friend who owns a cabin on the lake - very relaxed and perfect for studying in a calm atmosphere. i’d love to go back for happy hour on a friday!

I wanted to try a Tapas restaurant and after seeing pictures of the food on Instagram i knew I had to try Cordova. The place unfortunately was not what i expected. I was expected a more cozy, bigger place with actual tables but there was only a couple tiny tables and a couple high stools. The food was amazing (everything is on the salty side). You need to try the cured meats, cheeses, tomato bread and you definitely have to try the shishito peppers. I ordered a couple cocktails that were delicious as well. Only thing that bothered me is that everything came out extremely fast. I would suggest you go there for lunch more than to have a romantic date on a Saturday night. The bill was higher than expected (160$). It was a bit of a shock considering that we barely stayed half hour. The place has a lot of potential but should definitely move to a bigger location. It would make a bigger killing if it was more comfortable and less rushed. Overall, you should try to joint if you wanna have a light lunch or if you’re in a rush. The tapas are top. This Spanish all-day breakfast is such a refreshing addition to this neighborhood. We tried four dishes which were perfect for sharing, and a style that I dont think I’ve ever eaten before in Montreal. The soft boiled eggs and the toast with garlic butter and anchovies were my favorites. You can also pick up a can of high quality canned seafood here. Great service as well!

Google
Delicious coffee and London fog. The gentleman who made them seems like a passionate coffee nerd. You can see it watching him pour the milk over the espresso, he’s skilled. Good cafe, will return.

Yelp
Grabbed one double espresso and one cortado. The roast blend that they use is well balanced and the machine have enough pressure to create a beautiful crema on top. Service was courteous and the barista made the coffees quite fast. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
Great coffee and interior, really pleasant staff and they also serve alcohol if you want to come with your friends and play board games for the afternoon/evening. Plenty of seating inside and the bathrooms are clean.

Yelp
This is a great local coffee shop with friendly people! We came here early morning Sunday and it was already busy. I had a latte and my boyfriend had a cold brew and it was excellent. We also ordered a croissant and a cheese danish it was mouth watering !!! Must check out this local coffee shop if you're in the area. You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Café/ Bar in Saint Henri area and nearby some amazing restaurants. It's a small but adorable. It also has a terrace part. Service is good. We just went for a caffeinated beverage. Since it's super hot; we a cold brew and iced cappuccino. Both delicious. Slightly overpriced but the place runs quality products.

Yelp
Atmosphere: It had a cosy and calm vibe for sitting down for a coffee or small bite. Beautiful table tops covered with tiles. I was able to get some work done on my laptop. There was free wifi yet there are no plugs so to charge devices there. Staff: The girl who served me coffee was super sweet! Coffee and food: I had two cups of coffee and a sandwich to-go. The coffee was good and the sandwich was yummy.

Yelp
I watched the Barista -- Jeff -- kick the family with a child on the spectrum out of the coffee shop on the basis that their license "doesn't allow children". Not five minutes later, another family with children entered and was served without issue. It was unsettling and I wish I had said something.

Yelp
We came here to have some coffee while in queue for brunch across the street at Arthurs Nosh Bar which, by the way, I do not recommend (you can read my original and updated reviews on Yelp). When we entered, it felt like we escaped the cold winter weather and took refuge here, a peaceful place safe from danger. The menu prices are inclusive of taxes which I always appreciate. We ordered a latte and an espresso, which was brought to our table by a friendly and hip looking barista. Overall, I would recommend Cordova to anyone who enjoys a good cup of java.

Yelp
A thousand percent my favourite coffee shop in the area. Great, great coffee from a variety of roasters, including local, a very cool machine & a chill vibe. Nowhere to sit inside post covid, but a park across the street to enjoy your coffee if you've got the time.

Yelp
I was in the area for work over the last two weeks and each morning I found myself at Cordova for their coffee because it was excellent ! My favourite is their cappuccino with almond milk , silky smooth with great coffee flavour ,AND they make their own almond milk ! Prices are fair as well. The staff is always so friendly and welcoming and make you feel at home , exceptional customer service. The location isn't huge but there is space for seating with very pretty yet cozy decor and great atmosphere (always good music in the background as well !). I also went by with a friend and we tried their Madeline's ... beyond perfect ! (Not overly sweet perfect fluffy texture and such nice subtle flavour). I have yet to go there for their food and cocktails but Ive heard such rave reviews that i'll make a point to give them a try ! Great little place in st -Henri I highly recommend it :)

Yelp
It is a new cafe right across Arthur Nosh Bar, located in St-Henri and on Notre-Dame street. The interior decor of the café is really nice, with the lining of green plants next to the window and marble tables with little vases of flower, the counter is also really nice and neat. Cordova is a Spanish-style cafe and bar (when they will get their alcohol license), so they serve a variety of food that is inspired from Spanish cuisine or imported from Spain. We tried several exotic tapas style dishes, including Jamon Serrano, Chorizo Iberico Bellota, tomato bread, Hof Kelstein bread with parsley butter and soft boiled egg and anchovies. The Chorizo was the best of our choices, but the other ones are also very unique and flavourful. If you want to try some food out of the ordinary, come to Cordova and taste a few dishes of their menu, you will be happily surprised!

Yelp
Anywhere you can get a Labatt 50 or a homemade almond milk latte at the same location is a favourite in my books. Super friendly staff. Great place for a 5 à 7, to get some work done or grab a coffee on the go! Don't skip out on the Serrano and Iberico croissant - it's delicious!

Yelp
When this place opened, I was too excited -- it's cute and right next to my place, it seemed perfect. Yet ... I have tried their coffee upwards of six times now, and each time I've found it to be sharp enough on the tongue to be undrinkable past the first half. Also unhelpful towards their likeability factor is the fact that this cafe seems wildly out of place for the neighborhood. Incredibly trendy with a menu that seems built more for Air BnB tourists than the average person from St. Hen. Just get a latte at Rustique or a cocktail at Cho, honestly, and save yourself the performance. Great if you need to show your instagram friends that you like to drink coffee. Great if you need to work on some laptop business while visiting the city. Not great if you just want a nice cup of coffee and an inconspicuous morning/ whenever. Also really, really, really not great if you're hungry. Two stars for decent decor and usually-attentive baristas. Then I subtracted one star because two was too generous.

Yelp
First day in Montreal, and the staff was super helpful. The guy with the stash is a G and gave me directions on how to get to where I needed to go. A more posh cafe, the place itself is pretty contemporary, and the drinks they serve there are good. The cold brew isn't too strong like some other places, and the food there is right on. Definitely would recommend this place if you want to study, chill, or relax with some friends.

Yelp
Charming place! Cafe by day, restaurant/cozy bar by night! Great service and location

Yelp
Love this place. Great coffee and cocktails. Turns from coffee shop during the day to cocktail bar at night. Great staff, always welcoming and helpful. Very fun vibe. A St-Henri gem!

Yelp
A hidden gem... for now...This place seems to be a cafe by day and cocktail bar by night. We went for drinks on a Saturday night and the atmosphere was great. Music was perfect and not too loud to chat. This is a true cocktail bar with a wide selection of really unique and delicious drinks, NOT the sugary watered down nonsense like many overpriced bars. The food selection was small but of great quality. We shared the 3 cheese plate and the tomato bread, very tasty and portions were perfect. The waitress was knowledgable of the menu and gave good pointers. Would definitely recommend!

Yelp
I would rate the coffee bar side as a 4. When Cordova transitions to a cocktail bar I find it disappointing. Living nearby, we've been here 3 or 4 times, and found the cocktails to be average (mocktails especially would have benefitted from being properly mixed). The wine list is minimalist, and that's fine. The tomato bread, ham and conservas are a definite standout. On most of our visits, we had indifferent service - long wait times before being asked to place an order, no acknowledgment when waiting at the bar for a long time, waiting a long time to get the bill (or never receiving it) etc. It seems dependent on who is there, because we've also had quite normal and friendly service. Recently we even witnessed a condescending and belligerent "debate" on cocktails between the owner (just guessing based on her comments) and one of the customers. It was awkward, and we'll just grab a drink elsewhere next time!
