This Amsterdam Hotel Has a Boeing 737 Airplane Inside - AFAR

"Centered on an actual Boeing 737-800 front section, this 1,200-square-foot top-floor suite recreates the ambience of a commercial cabin while functioning as a spacious hotel residence. Guests are greeted by an in-flight-style ding-dong intercom, can relax in five rows of three-three seating with working seat belts, tray tables, and overhead bins, and will find two empty food-and-beverage trolleys and a locked lavatory in the front galley. The cockpit—previously used as a pilot flight simulator—allows visitors to sit at the yoke and play with buttons and levers (the controls are not operational). A three-foot portion of the nose extends outside a large window to suggest being in flight, and a movie screen is planned to emulate classic pull-down in-flight entertainment. The aircraft bisects the suite, separating the bedroom from the living area; a recent renovation replaced a conference table with couches, added a full kitchen, and enables extra cots in the living room. The space also includes multiple toilets plus a separate bedroom bathroom with shower and tub. Installed in 2015 by lifting the plane into a built structure amid tricky permitting that limited how much of the cockpit could protrude, the suite is available to book with Marriott Bonvoy points since a 2022 franchise agreement and has rates starting around €294 for members (€299 for non-members)." - Blane Bachelor

Had a wonderful stay with smooth check-in, friendly staff, and a clean, comfortable room with all amenities. Breakfast had plenty of fresh options, and the restaurant/bar had a great evening vibe. The location was very convenient for exploring the city, and coming back to a cozy, quiet room after a busy day felt perfect. Service was warm and attentive, making the whole experience comfortable and memorable. Would definitely choose to stay here again.

I will most definitely be booking to come here again. The staff are absolute gems and the facilities here are lovely. From the moment you enter you are met with smiles ear to ear and very friendly attitude. The front of house staff are exceptional, however the most praise goes to the Spa/pool staff. Bayza was one of the most kindest soft spoken souls I have met. Extremely helpful and happy to explain any and everything. It is unfortunate the masseuse was off sick the entirety of my stay, I was looking forward to nice anti-stress birthday massage :( but beggers can't be choosers. I totally understand and hope they recover well. Transport links are great, about 30min metro ride to Central. But honestly, who needs central. You come here for the quietness and tranquility. 10/10 recommend to a friend. Thank you for a lovely stay Corendon.

Google
The rooms are exceptionally clean and comfortable. Sometimes you need to splurge a little and enjoy life. The price is well worth it. The service is fantastic, always ready to help. They’re environmentally conscious, offering you a small incentive to not have your rooms deep-cleaned every day. The location is very convenient, a couple minutes away from the tram and metro. Cannot say enough good things about it.

Staff were really friendly and attentive in the hotel, the spa and the bar/restaurant. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable and the amenities were great. ||We went to the bar a few times and the drinks were excellent as well as the food, they had some very exciting cocktails to choose from. ||The pool and spa areas were really clean and well managed, the experience was great overall. ||We had a really positive experience and would love to come back at some point. Thank you!

The room was great and the staff had a great welcoming and warm approach. The breakfast was a bit of concern for us as being a muslim we needed halal meat options which wasn’t provided by the hotel but the restaurants just nearby provides many halal food options (many restaurants nearby). Would have been great if they could add in a halal counter. Rest all was good as of the room service and the staff all well and good. Location of the hotel is 20 mins by tram to Amsterdam city which is also quite good.

I’m really glad I booked this hotel! It was walking distance to the trams & so easy to get around. Victor made our experience amazing, he is truly the one that made this property shine. He provided us some awesome recommendations in the city, fully explained the property amenities, and he genuinely wanted us to have a great time during our stay. This will always be my go-to from now on, thanks to him.

Google
All in all a nice hotel. Nice rooms and an over all cool vibe. Location is OK but not great. You're roughly 20-30 min from Amsterdam proper. As others have mentioned, despite being listed as an amenity on the website, pool access cost €19 extra. Really disappointing considering that was one of the selling points.

Google
Reception is great! Very helpful. The location is out of central, but you can get to local transportation easily. The room is okay, the rugs in general could have been way cleaner, and the mattress top was disgusting. It got changed fairly quickly, though. The restaurant attached is not worth it, and the booth seats were completely covered in crumbs. I wouldn't choose to stay here on my vacation again. Cleanliness should be a top priority.

Yelp
I'm very happy with my stay at this Hotel, they welcomed me with a smile as well as I booked the wrong dates coming from the USA and the mgr accommodated removing that date so that I wouldn't pay for a day I wasn't here. The restaurant onsite was great I enjoyed their dinner and amazing buffet breakfast that was complimentary bonus given for being a Platinum Marriot member. I will definitely stay here in the future.

Yelp
if I could leave negative stars, I would. We're only in hour 6 of our overnight stay at the Corendon Hotel Amsterdam, arranged by KLM after multiple flight cancellations. So far it is serving as an unfortunate conclusion to an already exhausting and frustrating travel ordeal. While check-in wasn't terrible, we were assigned a trainee who was clearly unprepared and unsupported by staff who didn't seem to care where we were placed. It felt like being shuffled off to an "out of sight, out of mind" building, as though our airline vouchers had relegated us to afterthought status. Things have only gone down from there. Despite being required to make a reservation for dinner, no one answered the phone to take reservations. After countless failed attempts, we gave up and stood in yet another line, a recurring theme. We were stranded without our luggage, so we asked for basic necessities like toothpaste and deodorant. To our disbelief, the staff informed us they had none to provide and had the audacity to claim that KLM hadn't sent them any supplies to distribute. To make matters worse, there was no deodorant available to purchase in their shop, and we were forced to buy toothpaste out of pocket. No support, no solutions--just excuse after excuse and blatant disregard for guests who were already stressed and stranded. The attention to detail is appalling. At least one window will crack bc we can't turn the heat down enough - as the thermostat is locked - bc the other window/door is broken. it won't open and is currently taped shut. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if we leave with bedbugs given the clear lack of care. This was a disgraceful way to treat guests, and the experience left an already terrible day ending on an even worse note. To KLM: Sending passengers to a hotel that lacks the resources, organization, or compassion to provide basic customer service is unacceptable. To Corendon: Four-star???? really???? What a disappointment - ESPECIALLY under Marriott's name. The service we have received is nowhere near a standard I THOUGHT Marriott prides themselves on having. Ignoring guests, providing no assistance, and failing to stock basics for stranded travelers is completely unacceptable. This experience was a failure. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Yelp
Our stay at Corendon Hotel was the best one we've had in all of Europe so far. When we walked in, we were greeted with friendly faces and able to check in to our room four hours early! The room was excellent; It was so spacious and had a very nice bathroom too. There was also complementary flavored water in the lobby and an optional all you can eat breakfast that was SO GOOD. The staff offered us options of things to do around Amsterdam and recommended their favorite local spots. We are definitely going to stay here again in the future!

Yelp
We stayed for 6 nights. If you're looking for a convenient location close to the tram and train system to get you to and from the heart of Amsterdam in ~30 minutes then this is the place for you. They also have a gym downstairs open 24/7 with well kept equipments. They also offer bike rentals for 18 euro/day but you can find cheaper options elsewhere. They offer breakfast for 17.5 to 19 euro/person/day but again, you can likely find cheaper options elsewhere depending on your needs. They claim to be a 4-star hotel (keeping in mind that the star rating system is different from North America) but their services and amenities available still make it feel more like a 3-star experience. They will not replace the complimentary water bottle from day 1 and they will not change the sheets (we know because it had a stain at a certain spot). In fact at this time the hotel may be undergoing renovations as well - while in the elevator, we somehow ended up on the 7th floor and found a worker with a largely unfinished floor. They also had a wifi issue which they at least announces to the guests that they acknowledge this, but then proceeded to share it'll maybe take a week to fix (so, our duration of stay) Keep in mind, the price is very reasonable and they are in an accessible location. The hotel star rating system is likely checklist-driven, so keep your expectations low.

Yelp
Fanatasic colour used through out the hotel. Am very sure everyone who visits will love to stay for a minimum of two weeks, they was a conference area which I had seen but didn't have time to visit as I had some other meetings in the area

Yelp
The hotel room is very nice. The Spa is eh, I went on a Thursday and we paid the extra for the spa because I was under the impression it was a clothed spa, sure woman had clothes on around their waste but I really wasn't in the mood for a bunch of half dressed women (I know, I know, stupid American Expat) it wouldn't have been so bad if I had expected people to be unclothed, or when I mentioned that and the level of noise to the attendant that something was done about it but nothing was done about either. I tried again the next morning as soon as it opened, however they weren't finished cleaning so the steam room and the sauna weren't hot, for awhile after being there, at least it was pretty much empty so I was able to relax a little.

Yelp
Party of two, stayed four nights. The rooms were clean; bed was very comfortable. They only offered a thick comforter and a thin sheet; would have liked a medium weight option. Breakfast buffet offered an assortment of hot and cold items; vegetarian options. Appreciated the 24/7 "store" in the lobby; offering snacks and essentials. Overall decor is modern -lobby and rooms. Location: Not much in the immediate area, but you can easily access public transportation to head to the hot spots. Front desk is helpful with directions.

Yelp
This brand new hotel just outside the city centre of Amsterdam is a very comfortable place to stay when you are looking for luxury for a good value. This March is the grand opening and I had the opportunity to test it. This hotel has four unique selling points. First, you can have your own airplane in your room. What?! Yes, you're reading it right. An AIRPLANE. On the seventh floor of the hotel they build in a real plane. In the cockpit room you can control a plane by yourself. With a simulator you can takeoff, fly to another destination and ofcourse you will be responsible for the landing also. In the business class they build in a conference room for sixteen people. So are you looking for a meeting room and you want to impress your client. GO HERE! There is also a luxurious bathroom and a very nice bed to crash on. Also the other rooms are very comfortabel en modern. The bed are very nice and soft (specially designed for the Corendon Hotels) and brand new bathrooms with a large shower cabin. There is soap and shampoo, a possibility to make tea, HD tv screen with international channels and a mini bar. Take a look at the pictures above the bed. If you know Istanbull and Amsterdam for a bit, you will notice something odd. Second, there is a very nice vitality spa. This is quit unique in Amsterdam and is open for everyone (so also if you are not staying in the hotel). There will be a pool with a four season theme. Chill on the beach with (fake) sunlight and (fake) sand. You will even smell the ocean! Besides the pool there is a hammam (a Turkisch bathouse) and several relaxing and therapeutic treatments. So if you're recovering from a surgery this is possible here. They even have botox treatments! The disadvantage is that you will have to pay for the entree of the spa. If you are a guest of the hotel it will cost you 15 euro per person, otherwise it's 19,50 euro. The reason is that the spa provides room for only fourty persons at the same time. Third, the breakfast is THA BOMB! If you like English breakfast (eggs and sausages), France (brie, croissaint or yoghurt), Dutch (bread with cheese or peanutbutter), American (bacon) or more mediterranean (Turkish bread, different kind of fish, olive, salami). It's ALL there! And last but not least, the service is excellent. De staff is very enthusiastic and helpfull. You will feel very welcome here. The only thing is, it's not in the city centre. Yes, there is a metro station nearby, but it will take more then 15 minutes to get in the centre of Amsterdam. But in Amsterdam and The Netherlands the bike is our dear friend. So rent one and then you can be within 15 minutes in the Vondelpark. AND you will see a lot more of Amsterdam to!

Yelp
Please do not stay at this hotel. My mother made a reservation at this hotel, which she had to cancel because of my father's health emergency. They obtained a note from their doctor, and she cancelled as soon she realized that she would not be able to travel, giving the hotel over a week's notice during their busy tourist season. The hotel has refuse to refund any of the $800.00 making a hard time for my family even more difficult. My mother is elderly, and I have tried repeatedly tried to contact the hotel on my mother's behalf. They have not been helpful, and they have stopped responding to my emails.

Yelp
I loved my stay here (10/2016). The hotel staff were very helpful. The hotel is new and clean. The complimentary daily breakfast was generous and delicious. The hotel was a bit far from Central, maybe 35 min tram ride. I didn't mind since rides offered a nice view through town. The tram and metro were a few minutes walk away. There were some grocery stores about a 10 minute walk away. Not much for restaurant options nearby. I would stay here again.

Yelp
I have traveled many sections of the world and booked in some of the finest hotels offered during my travels. I recently stayed ten days in the Corendon Vitality Hotel Amsterdam and it was the most pleasant experience yet. The staff were polite and very efficient in booking me in. Rooms were spotless and the room service was the best. I truly enjoyed the hot / buffet breakfast and the chefs were very knowledgeable. The evening menus were also very nice. In all , I must say that my stay was a highlight of my return to The Netherlands and I do recommend staying there. Thank to all the staff for a very welcomed and pleasant stay. Yelp
I like this place. I booked it on Hotels.com- because we wanted a long stay, and didn't mind being out of the city center. This is located in a semi-industrial area, and there is a lot of construction across the street- which we don't mind at all. A short walk away there is a shopping center with a Lindl market, an Albert Hein, and some other shops and restaurants. (Efem even has a Yelp review). We booked a Queen bed room, and were pleasantly surprised. It's clean, comfortable, has a tea maker, a fridge and a safe. Love the walk in shower- so tired of risking my neck trying to get out of high sided tubs. Love the quick elevator. Nice restaurant on site- not cheap, but good food and a good cappuccino. There's also a faster food stop which sells pastries, sandwiches and fruit- as well as drinks. Wifi is good, service is excellent, and everyone is very nice. I would definitely stay here again. Parking is expensive- I heard a sad German trying to get a discount. He did NOT want to pay 20 Euros a night for his car (can't blame him.) There is free parking if you don't mind a small walk to the hotel- but I'm not sure how safe it is. Lots of business people seem to meet here at the restaurant (Ay) at lunch. It's a pretty restaurant with some interesting menu choices.

Yelp
Terrific find in Amsterdam. Modern, clean hotel very close to metro and also to tram (about a 7 min walk). AY restaurant is surprisingly good, at least the Bittergarnituur (an assortment of fried delicacies - cheese, chicken etc for 10 euros). We like it so much we went back twice and we're interested to see good sized crowds in the restaurant both times.

Yelp
Great place. AMAZING SPA and super economical. The only down side is that it's little bit far from the center city--but it is down the street from a train station that will get you there in about 10 minutes.

Yelp
staff in dinning room very rude ! will not let you have room service for prepaid breakfast ! dinning room manager rude ! will not let you sit near windows ! front desk staff not happy to receive guests will not be help full to any request for services management of dinning room and front desk very very bad
