While I don't think many dine in at Corinne's Place--looks like the dining room is used mostly for events, lured by its recent placement as #42/50 in Philadelphia Magazine and a recent James Beard award for regional food, we greatly enjoyed our dine-in experience.
We decided to go with the Family Value Platter (3 meats, 3 sides) for $110.00 and after indulging, each couple came away with a to-go container of delicious soul food. The platter comes with two desserts (individually packaged) and we had a pitcher of sweet tea. Upon our server's recommendation, we tried the (1) fried chicken, (2) fried whiting, and (3) barbecue pork ribs along with (a) baked mac & cheese, (b) collard greens, and (c) rice & gravy. We also had a side of fried chicken wings, which turned out to be much like the fried chicken--not bad leftover, though--and some okra, corn & tomatoes, which had great flavor! The whiting is a delicate white fish and was terrific with a hit of Corinne's hot sauce (definitely ask for some if you like your food spicy!). The fried chicken was perfectly juicy and crispy. But the barbecue pork ribs won the meat game with fall-off-the bone, delicious BBQ sauced meat. My favorite sides were the baked mac & cheese and the collard greens--the latter were so tender! And the apple cobbler was sweet and cinnamon-y.
I agree with Holly W., I did wish there was less plastic used, at least for those dining in, but I'm sure we'll reuse the platter for a potluck down the line!
