Stopped at Corinne’s this past Saturday with my daughter and Gal Pal after throwing out the suggestion cause they wanted soul food out of choices given. Me, I’m no stranger to this gem. First time was over 30 yrs ago on a date! Well….these women with me put a hurting on the food you see pictured here. Everything was fresh, delicious, comforting! Service was fantastic. Best part? Seeing Corinne herself! Looking ‘fly’ as ever, chatting up memories of ‘back in the day’, Holmes Lounge memories, dancing to wee hours in the morning. This place remains a historic gem and significant to memories black patrons (particularly) can trace their own memories of food they GrandMama, Mama, Aunties, Uncles prepared with loving hands. Thank you Corinne and staff for a great afternoon, may the history and legacy live on🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️❤️

Google
This is Absolutely, The Best Soul Food Anywhere in the USA!! They give you a very healthy serving of you entree. The portions of the sides, are so much, that you would never be able to eat it all in one sitting. The service is Awesome, and the atmosphere is very warm and inviting.

Review for Corrine’s Place in Camden, New Jersey I made sure to visit Corrine’s Place three times before writing this review to truly gauge the consistency in service and quality—and I’m so glad I did. Each visit was a heartwarming experience, thanks to the owner, Ms. Corrine, who made my guests and me feel like part of her family. Her genuine spirituality and passion for hospitality shine through from the moment you walk in the door. The food is nothing short of exceptional. After three visits and sampling a wide variety of dishes with seven different guests, I can confidently say that Corrine’s Place is a gem for soul food lovers. My personal favorite is the whiting paired with candy yams and black-eyed peas—it’s a perfect harmony of flavors. I’ve also tried the green beans, collard greens, cabbage, and macaroni and cheese, all of which are outstanding examples of classic soul food. Every guest who joined me left thoroughly satisfied and eager to return. If I had to offer one critique, it would be the iced tea. I’m not sure what brand is used, but it doesn’t quite match the high standard of the rest of the meal. Lipton’s or freshly brewed tea with lemon would elevate the experience, especially when paired with such authentic Southern dishes. Despite this small note, Corrine’s Place has earned my loyalty. The food is delicious, the service is warm and welcoming, and the overall atmosphere feels like home. I’ll definitely be returning and bringing more friends and family to support this wonderful business. If you’re in Camden and craving soul food made with love, Corrine’s Place is a must-visit!

Google
Found Corrine's out the blue after being in Camden for a baseball tournament this past Sunday. My family of 8 and I called and they were able to seat us all within 5 mins. Waitress, service, food and hospitality was amazing. We did the Sunday buffet ( 5 meats and sides for $35) and they pile on the food. Everything was delicious. The manager Vincent came out and introduced himself, gave us the history of the place and then introduced us to the owner, Mrs. Corrine. She talk with us for awhile and even gave my 6 year old son, presents from under their summer time tree. We will definitely be visiting again very soon. Worth the ride over the bridge.

Google
EXTREMELY SMALL PORTION FOR $25. TINY SIDES IN SMALL CONTAINERS...AVOID THIS PLACE. Its been a while so, I tried again and CANT BELIEVE THEY HAVE EVEN SMALLER PORTIONS AND HIGHER PRICE THAN BEFORE!! UNBELIEVABLE - AND THE FOID O MOT THAT GOOD... AVOID.. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!! They change the amount of food that they give you. I was told that the new small portion policy started today. (See pictures). See the review left by By someone right before my post. Notice the drastic difference in the size in the containers of mine and theirs. Notice all the room left in the space for the sides in mine. There's a thin layer of rice and mac and cheese at the bottom of the food used to be filled to the top of the container and even a little more. The prices are still the same for the food, but the portions are drastically, drastically different. I won't be buying any more food from this place. I just want to put a warning out there. You're spending $20 plus dollars for the food, and need to make your own sides at home. Used to Three pork chops, now it's two small ones. The prices aren't bad for the amount of food they USED to give you. GREED is something else.

Google
The quality and taste of the food here is not what it used to be. I used to rave about this place so much that 4 people ate here based off my recommendation and they said the food was average at best and definitely not worth the hype I gave it. So I went to eat here again since my last visit which was years ago. I was surprised how the taste, quality and portion of the food dropped. The greens had no flavor and were terrible. The once delicious Turkey wings were a huge disappointment. Dry and just not the same. I asked questions and found out that one of their best cooks her name was Omega left and opened her own place. Seems like the taste and quality left with her. With the high cost of food I prefer to spend my money elsewhere. Sad because used to be a favorite. Get better cooks!!!!

Google
All the meats were salty except for the fish. The collard greens were off the chain. The macaroni and cheese was delicious. The yams were good too. I enjoyed all my sides I just didn't enjoy the meats.

Google
This place came highly recommended and did not disappoint. The service was great from the time you walked in. I opted for the buffet. The buffet was five sides and five meats. Everything was hot and fresh. The potatoes salad was a small portion but was really great five stars. The other portion sides were enough for two people. The collard greens were seasoned to profection as well. I highly recommend the fried chicken. We sat outside in the adjacent area to the restaurant. I would have to say it was comfortable and warm

Yelp
The food is incredible. I tell all my friends looking for Soul food to go there. The service is great when you dine in or outdoors at the restaurant. The staff is always friendly. Kevin W.

Yelp
The place is not in the best neighborhood, but it was ok did. It did not feel unsafe. The service was great, staff helped be carry catering order to my car in very convenient boxes. The food is so good ! Smothered Pork chops were tender and gravy was succulent The cabbage and greens combo was really good. Yams were yummy and fried catfish was crisp and flavorful. The mac and cheese was just ok. If you're looking for real soul food go !!

Yelp
I ordered the smothered Chicken collard greens and baked Mac and cheese. Everything was simply amazing. The chicken was seasoned to profection it was a bite of delight to the very last bite. The baked Mac and cheese took me back to when I was a little kid it was on the level of my grandmother Mac and cheese. The collard greens were made perfectly i enjoyed the meal and the portion size was amazing differently can't eat that I 1 setting. I got my meal from grubhub

Yelp
So if anyone has read one of my reviews you know I normally reserve 5 stars for a second visit. However I'm not sure when I will be back in the area so I have to give flowers when they are due! I was working in the area and ordered through DoorDash. Listen the food arrived in a timely manner and it was piping hot! I had the turkey wings, Mac and cheese, collard greens and the peach cobbler. It was soooo much food! The turkey wings fell off the bone literally! The Mac and cheese was so creamy and cheesy and the collards had just the right amount of zest. I'll be honest I tried a bite of the cobbler but I was so full I couldn't enjoy it. And the portions! I have enough for another full meal! If you're in the area you gotta check them out!

Yelp
To my mind, this is the only valid soul food place in Philly... and it's in Jersey. But I tried and tried and tried to find someplace in the city and nothing met the standards. So over the bridge I had to go. Corinne's is basically a "meat and two" type place. All of the mains that I've had have been great, except for the salmon croquettes, which were just okay. All of the sides are delicious. Standouts include the greens, yams, and mac. Cornbread used to be included, but now it's an add on (maybe $1.50). The cake slices are most definitely made from box mix, but they put that jello pudding in there, so they're moist and delicious. The peach cobbler is just alright. Closed on Mondays. And closed a little to early almost every day. Definitely call before you come if you're taking out -- the wait can be up to 45 minutes if they're busy.

Yelp
While I don't think many dine in at Corinne's Place--looks like the dining room is used mostly for events, lured by its recent placement as #42/50 in Philadelphia Magazine and a recent James Beard award for regional food, we greatly enjoyed our dine-in experience. We decided to go with the Family Value Platter (3 meats, 3 sides) for $110.00 and after indulging, each couple came away with a to-go container of delicious soul food. The platter comes with two desserts (individually packaged) and we had a pitcher of sweet tea. Upon our server's recommendation, we tried the (1) fried chicken, (2) fried whiting, and (3) barbecue pork ribs along with (a) baked mac & cheese, (b) collard greens, and (c) rice & gravy. We also had a side of fried chicken wings, which turned out to be much like the fried chicken--not bad leftover, though--and some okra, corn & tomatoes, which had great flavor! The whiting is a delicate white fish and was terrific with a hit of Corinne's hot sauce (definitely ask for some if you like your food spicy!). The fried chicken was perfectly juicy and crispy. But the barbecue pork ribs won the meat game with fall-off-the bone, delicious BBQ sauced meat. My favorite sides were the baked mac & cheese and the collard greens--the latter were so tender! And the apple cobbler was sweet and cinnamon-y. I agree with Holly W., I did wish there was less plastic used, at least for those dining in, but I'm sure we'll reuse the platter for a potluck down the line!

Yelp
Food is always delicious and great portions. There is only a few things I'll drive over the bridge from Philly for and Corrine's one of them.

Yelp
The weekends are insanely busy. Food is consistent and platters are full. This is my Mom's favorite place.

Yelp
I was looking for some place to eat that's delicious and that's really going to satisfy those Ramadan cravings. I ordered a fried chicken wing platter with cabbage/greens and yams. My old man got beef ribs with Mac n cheese and rice and gravy. The ribs were fall off of the bone good. The sides were delectable and they give you great size portions. The only thing I regret is not asking for them to fry my wings harder. Other than that, the food was good.

Yelp
Really wonderful soul food with gigantic portions. Came here after reading that it won James Beard award for regional food. Pleasant patio tent or eat inside. Staff very nice. BYOB. I had BBQ pork ribs, collards and Mac and cheese. All delicious. Mac and cheese authentic and very cheesy. Husband had fried chicken and okra/tomatoes/corn. My only beef is they use a LOT of plastic. Even eating in we were served with big plastic trays, utensils, and bottled water. That being said, we couldn't possibly eat it all and would have needed take home trays anyway.

Yelp
This joint is a Camden staple, and for good reason. The food is amazing and they actually have a really great vegan platter (salisbury steak with choice of sides). My carnivorous coworkers have had everything else on the menu and always leave full and happy. Great service and atmosphere as well.

Yelp
I was unaware Corrines was undergoing renovations when we decided to go. We were ushered to a large tent , equipped with heat lamps , and seated . It was a cold windy day. The tent was warm initially but it got pretty cold out there pretty quickly. Now for the good part .... The food was excellent . The portions were generous . The server was very friendly. I ordered fried chicken, collard greens and sweet potatoes (they are not candied , it's a tender sweet potato) ... and a side of catfish. My entree was very good but the catfish was EXCEPTIONAL. My husband ordered fried whiting , Mac and cheese and okra . He enjoyed his meal as well. I will definitely be back ... after the renovations

Yelp
Finally was able to taste the food at Corinne's Place and it was worth it!! Catfish & chickens wings were fried to perfection. Macaroni & cheese, potato salad & sweet potatoes were great. My only disappointment were the black eye peas...little seasoning and undercooked. We visited on a Sunday afternoon but did not get the buffet selections which was very popular!! A stream of regular customers assured us we made a good choice. Staff was EXTREMELY helpful and service was wonderful.

Yelp
My hubby and I dined here on a Sunday evening, which is open buffet day... I am not a fan of buffet style eating because I don't like the idea of random people picking over food that I may be eating BUT Corinne's buffet is staffed and only her team handles the food AND they keep it covered when they are not serving, also a huge plus is that the pans of food get refreshed periodically... The buffet is all you can eat. The offerings on the night that we came were: fried chicken, sliced ham, cabbage, string beans, baked Mac n cheese, candied yams, yellow rice, turkey legs or wings, curry chicken, beef ribs and something else (maybe ettouffè - I forgot to ask) - of this I tried the fried chicken, the curry chicken, Mac n cheese, cabbage, candies yams and string beans. I cleaned my plate the first round; the second round was too much for me to handle - lol. The staff here was awesome and very welcoming - I felt like I was visiting with my family. My hubby and I sat outdoors under a covered patio tent and listened to good music playing while we ate. I can't count how many times the staff came over and checked on us; the customer service was stellar!!! And the highlight - Corinne greeted us and checked in to make sure we were being taken care of. I regret that I did not get to take a pic with her because I was too busy stuffing my face and then dashed because a storm was looming. But when I come back - I'm going to take a pic with Corinne first - before I eat! ;-) The atmosphere is very laid back and the are very reasonable too. My hubby and I did push ourselves (hand to forehead) to eat dessert but it was just OK however, that wasn't what we came for - we came specifically for a good (home cooked tasting) southern style meal and that is exactly what we got! Looking forward to another visit :-)

Yelp
7/10/22 First time here so was excited! Nice man asks me what if like and after telling him what I may like he was like alright I got you since I told him I wanted to try everything lol. I don't think they had wings but got the fish forget what kind think it was catfish which was slightly dry, chicken curry was ok, but the ribs are real good with the Cajun turkey wing, meatloaf, rice with gravy, Mac n cheese, collard greens, yams, oxtail all good! I was going to get a sandwich but turns out Sandwich just means the meat on its own I could be biased as former Boston market worker but I think theirs is better that here tho maybe I needed butter Spent $86 lol which was more than expected but I just kept adding on This is great comfort food that I'll have to come back for since I believe they rotate their weekend menu and forgot dessert!

Yelp
I REALLY wanted fried chicken and potato salad tonight, and decided to check DoorDash for this place, since I'd heard so much positive comments over the last many months. My food was even better than I expected, perfectly seasoned with the right amount of kick. The chicken was crispy outside, not over breaded, and juicy inside. The sides of cabbage and greens, and the potato salad didn't even need a pinch of salt. My husband's smothered pork chop was well-seasoned, with the right amount of "smother". His rice with gravy was just right, not mushy. If I could give more than 5 stars for this dinner, I would! Well done, Corinne's!

Yelp
These soul food devours are from @corinnesplace in Camden New Jersey. This soul food spot is very aesthetically pleasing with a lot of pink decor. The staff is really nice and helpful. This establishment offers both indoor and outdoor dining. The also offer takeout. It's also BYOB. The bathrooms were really clean. The service was not so good. We had a party of 7 with reservations. It took way too long to get our orders to our table. It was too the point where others with huge parties would come in after us and still receive their food before our party. They were getting out the take out orders before our table order, which was bad service. Took too long to get water and juice drinks. However, the food was worth the wait. The food was super good but by time it got in front of me, i wasn't really hungry anymore. However, they did take some money off only the orders that were considered "late" to the table. While here I ordered the fried porgie with rice and gravely and okra, tomatoes, with corn. The platter was fire! Super flavorful and delicious and fresh. I also ordered a side of fried whiting fish. It was super fresh and fried to perfection. The food is amazing here at @corinnesplace . Please check them out. #fish #okra #corn #rice #whiting #water #icedtea #bathroom #food #foodie #foodblogger #jersey #newjersey #graduation #family service is everything.

Yelp
One of your catering vans noticed us keeping pace looking up your place and he held a pamphlet up to the window for advertising. Haven't even been and that's amazing customer service. Can't wait to try!!

Great food but just do take out. The service and ambiance are not that great. The portions are also excellent

Yelp
Sundays, $18 for a buffet (that Corinne's Place staff serves; while being masked up -- might I add) is unbeatable! Had to get that out the way. I was very impressed with this spot. Parked, walked up and waited in a line briefly (on a Sunday afternoon - 12ish). The older gentleman that was standing outside -- was so kind and talked with me about the establishment. We were both masked, which I appreciated. Customers seemed to be welcomed in by the groups that were together. One at a time. Thumbs up! Apparently, I stopped by before the crowd. When I left -- the church crowd was lined up and ready to come in chile! Now to the food. Two and a half days worth of food! For my order, I tried the delicious: fried fish, fried chicken (drumstick), mac & cheese, greens, candied yams, potato salad, cornbread and lemon cake. Everything was great! I did not try the turkey wing yet but I'm sure it's good too. Both customer service and food was great quality!

Sal D.

Yelp
On our way to Philly and decided to try it. This was the best decision we've ever made. I can't even attempt to describe in words how amazing the food and the staff was. Everyone was kind, welcoming and warm. But the highlight was the food. We had some classic soul food which included: fried chicken and fried pork chops. There so many more delicious options to choose from. You'll never find better. The sides were delicious and abundant. The Collard greens were tender and delicious, but the candied yams stole the show. Not to mention the corn bread. If you are ever in the Philly area, I strongly recommend a stop here! You can eat in( it's BYOB) or take out.

Lisa S.

Yelp
Absolutely HORRENDOUS!!! Waited over 4 hours for thanksgiving dinner. What a waste of time and money. Yall should be ashamed of yourselves!!! GET A BETTER SYSTEM!!! You have wasted so many folks precious time with their families and money on this nonsense. And they turned the phones off and won't answer. I hope none of these folks come back next year and spend their money elsewhere!!!! YOU ARE NOT PREPARED!!!!!!!! WHY would you ask for names and continuously call names who ARENT here!!!!! A complete cluster F****!!!! You want us to support black business but you don't know how to run it! NEVER AGAIN. UPDATE! Turkey wasn't cooked all the way through, the HAM was all fat. No stuffing or gravy was given AND we had to ask for rolls! Im going to file a complaint with the BBB!!! Absolutely unacceptable!!!!

Yelp
We ordered the family platter to feed four of us and it last two full suppers plus leftovers. The food was so good and the service was amazing! Cooked fresh and presented with care, our meal consisted of fried catfish, BBQ pork ribs, BBQ chicken, green beans, mac & cheese, candied sweet potatoes, black-eyed peas, 4 mini corn bread loaves, and 2 quarters of sweet potato pie--our favorites were the catfish, mac & cheese, green beans, and black-eyed peas. The staff were friendly, accommodating, and very generous. It's no wonder Corinne's Place has been successful for so long! All the best to this restaurant and its employees. The dining room was closed for renovation but I peeked in and it looked very nice.

Yelp
Great food, I had Mac and cheese, cabbage mixed with greens, rice, beef rib, fish, chicken, to drink iced tea. Slice of cake for dessert. Hospitality great.

Yelp
Tried for years to get here. I kept needing to be in NJ on a day they weren't open, or was in the area too late, etc. FINALLY, I planned a whole trip around making it to Corinne's for my birthday! In Feb 2022 with COVID still around, I had to do takeout. Grabbed it and headed to the Pennsauken Forman Mills parking lot 6min away. Lol, did shopping at FM too! Wow! This food was worth the planning! I'm just sad I didn't eat it sooner! Tried Donkey's years ago, and I wish I'd made it to Corinne's instead. Everything was just right for me. Each component outdid the next. I was STUFFED and couldn't finish, but I sooo wanted to because it was so good! I think the candied sweet potatoes are sweeter than the sweet potato dessert pie! My toddler was a fiend eating them. He was happy with the mac n cheese and chicken until he tasted those sweet potatoes, and then he turned into the Incredibles baby (when he's a monster) demanding more. Mac n cheese here is exactly how I like it; casserole-y not soupey, with globs of cheese that melted in the oven after it was grated into the dish, rather than a wiz-style dressing noodle bath. It was perfect! Chicken was fresh, good quality. Tender inside, crispy out. No weird spices or useless seasoning; just classic flavor you crave. Sweet potato pie and peach cobbler were good, but weakest compared to the main meal contenders. They had all the right tastes, and I'd probably appreciate them more if I hadn't stuffed myself with dinner. They are exactly the right soul food selections, but I had sweet potato overload by the end, so another option like berry crumble or key lime pie would've been a knockout flavor complement. All in all the best choice in Camden and surrounding areas for delicious food!

Yelp
First time customer . Ordered ox tails for the first time. Received beef and rice. Looks like the meat from one oxtail was cut up over my rice and beans. Called and complained about the menus indicating $27 and I paid $30 for beef stew. Told to ask for manager was told with next order i would given something extra. Stay tuned. The Mac and cheese and greens (spicy) were good. Surprised it didn't come with a dinner roll, catfish was excellent. May try the smorgasbord on Sunday. That's what i thought i was going for. Anyway do not order the Ox tails it's a rip off. One worker was kind unfortunately she was the one that talked me into the expensive oxtail platter, anyway i think i was given a full oxtail platter and one of the workers took it back and cut one of them up over my rice and took back the rest lol, Pork Ribs and Beef Ribs were just okay.

Jacqueline H.

Yelp
The food is excellent. I always get takeout. I ordered over the phone. I couldn't understand why I placed on hold while she took another order instead of taking my credit card number and letting me go.

Yelp
I haven't had such good fried chicken and sides in years. My boyfriend and I went for lunch and ordered a huge amount of food. I ordered Fried Chicken he ordered the vegetable platter. We got collard greens, cabbage and collards, mac and cheese, black eyed peas, okra corn tomato, green beans, candy sweet potatoes and cornbread. We also picked out on dessert and ordered and peach crisp. While there were little tweaks I would have loved to make to many of the items, taken as a whole lunch was terrific. Surprisingly, the okra, corn, tomato side was the best. The candied sweet potatoes and green beans and the mac and cheese all were wonderful too. I prefer my collards a little spicier and the cornbread crispier. The fried chicken I ordered was the dark meat and I got three leg thigh combinations. They were small legs but I could still only eat one and a half with everything else. And even at that, we have dinner for the next night. Seating is outdoors under a tent with heaters. Meals are conveniently served in takeout containers do I didn't have to ask for one. And yes you will need one!

Yelp
I love the food it's delicious! The service is excellent! The Ambiance is enjoyful! This soulfood restaurant is my top pick!

Yelp
I've been to Corrine's possibly 10 times in my life. Two times dining in. The rest was Sunday buffet takeout... The full menu is served everyday except Sunday. With the Sunday buffet, I received a round takeout container with 5-6 sides an 5-6 different meats, a roll, potato salad, and a piece of cake. All for $19.00. This meal is large enough to share with 3 people, or it will take two days for one person to finish it. Call ahead for takeout on Sunday. There's usually a line to get in.

Yelp
Ordered via DoorDash smothered chicken w/ white rice & gravy, Mac & cheese, and a side of cabbage. Received smothered pork chop dinner when I got it. I contacted DoorDash and was given a $5 refund only. I then reached out to the restaurant because I really wanted to try the food. I spoke to a very helpful young lady who took my address and phone number and within 10 minute sent a young man with my food and gave me extra corn bread! I don't eat pork for religious beliefs so it wasn't something I could just take instead, otherwise I would've just ate it. Both dinners came piping hot and was amazing. The cabbage is the best. 10/10 would recommend!

Yelp
We went here for an early dinner. We were looking forward to eating here we have heard so much about it. We were seated got our sodas and cornbread and then the wait began. We were the only ones dining in but I did see several people coming for take out. Our waitress never came back.We waited an hour and then I went to ask where was our food. Another waiter went to see, he immediately bought our food apologizing for the wait and said dessert would be on him. Then our waitress showed up apologizing with some excuse which I knew wasn't true because we were the only ones dining in. The waiter was great( I should have gotten his name) The saving Grace was that the food was very good. Those collared greens, delicious! The chicken wings, meatloaf and pork ribs were great. The yams were to stringy for but had a good taste.

Yelp
""Camden. A female-owned black business. You think about it," Bradley/Powers says proudly. "You hear so many negative things about Camden, but people have been coming here for 31 years from all around because I'm hands-on and I stick to the script. "Owner Corinne Bradley-Powers opened the restaurant 31 years ago and is known for her home cooked meals with generous portion sizes. Corinne Bradley/Powers' namesake restaurant has for three decades been one of the region's most enduring touchstones for home-style soul food. Corinnes Place is one of the best soul food restaurant in New Jersey. We are committed to serving the community. The atmosphere feels like you're eating at someone's home -- not at a restaurant." This is why I came. My mom lived here in the early 40s. Camden was much different back then. I was in the area doing ancestry research and am so glad I stopped here. Local relatives told me "Watch yourself in Camden". It'll be a definite culture shock for some folks. But go anyway. Park on the main drag and walk over. This was the BEST meal I had during my NJ - Philly visit. Please support Ms. Corrine. The soul food business is a hard go. She's made it for over 30 years and she's an asset to the community. Let's chip in to keep her able to serve her community.

Yelp
3/10/23. We've been going here for over 25 years on Sundays for the take out buffet. Today is the 1st time I was disappointed. The fried chicken, mac & cheese, and yellow rice, all tasted like salt. I sent my husband and there was no cornbread. Smh.

Yelp
AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING!!! Certainly worth the travel from PA. Portions are more than enough and very affordable. Incredible hospitality and the owner is very present, beautiful, and AWESOME!! Her employees are a reflection of her. Oh and the DJ is fire. He brings a nice vibe. Thank you for helping me celebrate my husband. Blessings and Favor!

Yelp
3.5 A solid rating for a combo dish that included a small breast and leg (fried chicken), a generous scoop of mac and cheese, yams, and of course, white bread and packaged butter. Did not like the iced tea - too processed and overly sweet. My dining partner ordered oxtails and had rice and green beans. I tried the beans - too salty for me. Maybe they were just off today. She wasn't as fond of her food as I was of mine. This little hole in the wall restaurant is a favorite among locals. Hard to find great food like this in what otherwise is a neighborhood that may have seen better days. Very basic but friendly atmosphere. They had a big TV on and while I normally am not a fan of a TV on while I'm eating, it was fun to have a small room of people really getting into Jeopardy! - LOL. Service was OK. Admittedly the server was very new and had to be shadowed a bit by one of regulars. She hadn't learned yet to check in with us while we waited or while we ate to see if we needed anything. At the end of the night, she was short $5 on change.

Yelp
We ordered take out and everything was delicious. I had the fried chicken wings with potato salad and macaroni and cheese and my friend had the smothered pork chops with collard greens and rice with gravy. I didn't try the pork chops but I'm told it was good. I wasn't a fan of the rice with gravy but everything else was divine. It is always a risk to eat someone else's potato salad and mac'n cheese, but both were excellent. You can tell Corinne's knows how to throw down. The chicken and collards were A+ and I don't eat mac'n cheese from just anybody. The food here is a slam dunk.

Yelp
I tried their Sunday buffet platter , which came with 5 meats and 5 sides and on top of that it also came with corn bread, potato salad AND a dessert! Let me just say ..... it was amazing!!!! The amount of food I was given was enough for 2-3 people I wasn't expecting that much food. Will definitely be returning and recommending to others!

Yelp
I got the salmon cakes and it had all the bones in it. Just like they pulled it out the can and fried it. Very disappointed.

Yelp
This James Beard award winning establishment keeps a tradition of great homemade cooking alive and well on the eastern seaboard. The matriarch Corinne is cordial, accommodating, gracious and displays quiet, engaging, and confident leadership. Now to the food ...innovation is seen in the side meat capabilities of catfish / porgy to meatloaf to pig feet. This gives the dinner options without the dinner entree sides. Genius. Details: yams are candied without over using sugar so the yam flavor rings through. Greens and cabbage mix is seasoned with red chili flake and no meat to promote a delightful vegan style. Cornbread is lightly sweet and offered in a mini loaf configuration. Fried chicken, offered is dark or white, is an ample serving along with oxtail and rice.

Yelp
I was in Camden for an event related to the great poet Walt Whitman's upcoming 200th birthday. As a friend told me, you don't go to Camden without getting something to eat at Corrine's. You see as Sylvia's is to Harlem, Corrine's Place is to Camden. Conveniently located on Haddon Avenue in the Parkside section of Camden, I'm glad I followed my friend's advice. I had a terrific meal and experience at Corrine's Place! This is soul food cooking at its very best ... and I might add tastiest! The first thing you will notice when you walk in is the pink décor. This is Miss Corrine's favorite color. I was warmly greeted and then sat down for a feast beginning with the delectable oven-hot cornbread. I'm not usually a huge cornbread fan ... but I loved this corn bread which was so light and flavorful. My main course was good old smothered chicken. The smothering gravy here was very tasty. It gloriously covered the chicken breasts. The black-eyed peas I selected were the best I have ever eaten. There was some seasoning in the peas that I couldn't identify which turned this side dish into truly delicious. Only the macaroni and cheese was not quite as excellent as I would have expected. I guess I like mine a little crisper with perhaps a few stronger cheeses. Saying that I easily ate it all! I had the privilege of meeting Miss Corrine - chef and owner of this wonderful establishment. She is as delightful as the food she cooks up. Her warm personality was radiant. Of course slipping me an extra slice of cornbread to take home helped inform my positive impression. Now I don't even have to think about this decision - five stars for Corrine's Place in Camden, NJ!

Yelp
Love that it's Black owned. Unfortunately, none of our orders were particularly good. Hoping we just caught them on a bad night or something, so I'm being generous with the stars, because I had been so excited to try this spot. The fried fish wasn't crispy, Mac and cheese was too mushy, green beans flavorless. Yams and potato salad just okay. Cornbread and cake were the only things I enjoyed. Wait time was longer than booked, but that wasn't surprising.

Yelp
All I can say is, "what are you waiting for?!?" The food is sooo good! It is well seasoned, generous portions, and priced right! Yes, I can cook my own delicious soul food, but when I don't feel like it, here's Corrine's Place, just waiting for me to order! I suggest looking at the menu before you get there, so that you have an idea of what you might want to order.

Yelp
I placed a catering order for my grand pops memorial service. I ordered the fried chicken, roast beef, salmon and rice, yams, string beans, collard greens and cornbread. The food was delicious and all the guests loved the food. We had so much food everyone was able to take platters home. The only issue was I didn't get the cornbread. This is the second time I placed a catering order with cornbread that they were unable to fulfill. How hard is it to make cornbread? Ms. Corrine I just would really love to try your cornbread lol. If I would've gotten the cornbread the review would've had 5 stars!
