My stay at Corinthia Bucharest was absolutely world-class – a clear 10/10 and without doubt the best hotel experience in Bucharest. I know all the other leading hotels in the city, but none reach the level of Corinthia.
The front office and concierge team were beyond outstanding. This was truly boutique luxury, with service on a level I usually only find at Four Seasons, St. Regis or the Ritz (Paris & London) – but here with even more personal touch and warmth.
Cristina (concierge) was exceptional: she not only gave us a spontaneous bilingual tour of the hotel, taking time to explain everything, but she also handled my check-in when my Amex didn’t work and immediately found a smooth solution – professional, calm, and very kind.
Alexandru (head fo) was a sensational host – he personally took my booking and everything he promised was delivered exactly as stated. Extremely professional, experienced and at the same time very approachable. We even bonded when he noticed my festival wristbands – such a human and authentic connection.
Alexandru (concierge) was equally remarkable: always attentive, friendly and very professional. He managed my late check-out perfectly, even though I was a bit late myself – staying calm and polite at all times.
On top of that, I received an extraordinary upgrade – many thanks to the management and the front office. Small but meaningful touches made the experience unforgettable: a bottle of Romanian wine with a handwritten turndown note – the wine even came from the region of my mother, which made it extra special. I don't know if it was planned or coincidental, but the gift was a hit and I gave the wine to my mother.
The hotel itself is stunning: the high-quality flower décor, the sense of heritage and history, the beautiful paintings, statues, and preserved architectural details all create a truly grand atmosphere. The Heritage Bar was a highlight – with its private rooms, elegant design, fantastic cakes and warm service, it felt like stepping into another world.
Housekeeping was invisible but perfect – everything spotless, even details like dust-free frames high up on the wall. And one young blonde staff member of the spa (around 30) even remembered me just from a previous visit to Sass months ago – that kind of memory and personal recognition is simply world-class.
If I had to mention one improvement for management: Amex acceptance should be standard in a hotel of this category. Many luxury travelers prefer American Express, and it was surprising that neither the hotel nor Sass accepted it.
I have been staying in the world’s top luxury hotels for over 15 years and know how to compare at the very highest level. In Bucharest I know virtually all relevant houses – and Corinthia is the new superstar on the horizon, raising the bar significantly in terms of service quality.
Absolutely recommended – and I have already shared my experience with many followers and friends. Several of them are now planning trips to Bucharest just to stay at the Corinthia, which makes me happy to see. Corinthia is the clear winner in the city, and I cannot wait to return.
