"Why we love it: A luxury resort with top-notch amenities in the heart of Malta The Highlights: - A variety of room types to accommodate all travelers - Five on-site bars and restaurants, including the historic Villa Corinthia - A regal pool surrounded by loungers and gardens The Review: In 1959, the Pisani family patriarch bought the historic Villa Refalo, intending for it to be a home for him, his wife, and their six children, as well as a restaurant. When he died unexpectedly, his children took over the property, first turning it into a wedding hall, and then a luxury hotel called Corinthia Palace. Even though the Pisanis have since expanded the Corinthia brand to 14 hotels around the world, they still own and operate the Malta original, running it with all the amenities required of a five-star stay. Here, guests find five bars and restaurants, a swanky outdoor pool and garden area, tennis courts, a deluxe spa and fitness center, and friendly, attentive service. The afternoon tea, served in your choice of British or Maltese style in the Orange Grove Brasserie, is a must, while the daily breakfast spread is generous and tasty. Ranging from superior rooms to executive suites, accommodations feature comfy beds and private balconies or terraces. All come with complimentary access to the Athenaeum Spa, but higher category options also include entry to the Executive Lounge, where guests can enjoy a daily breakfast buffet and complimentary wine, spirits, and canapés each evening. Speaking of the spa, it's currently being renovated and will be unveiled in April 2020 with a new design byGoddard Littlefair, a new parternship with ESPA for treatments, and new facilities includingseven treatment rooms, a relaxation lounge, and a thermal area."
Corinthia Palace Malta (Attard, San Anton) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels
"Across from San Anton Palace in Attard’s leafy residential quarter, Corinthia Palace began as a 19th-century villa, once home to Edward de Bono, later host to Queen Elizabeth. Today, it remains Malta’s original grande dame, refreshed with care but still unmistakably classic. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, with a mix of styles and balconies that overlook the gardens or quiet surrounding streets. The spa is expansive, the pools generous, and the shuttle to Valletta makes exploring easy. This isn’t the version of Malta you see on a postcard, and that’s exactly why it works." - Tablet Hotels

My wife and I booked a short break at the beginning of September 2025.|We were delighted with the choice of the hotel Corinthia Palace.|This is definitely a five star hotel a short distance from the centre of Valletta.Set in a delightful area next to the San Anton gardens the hotel provides a peaceful and thoroughly enjoyable experience.|The concierge team cannot do enough for you. Both Kevin and Ramesh helped us with anything we needed. Both booked excursions for us and arranged for us to be collected from the hotel at no extra charge. They helped us with taxi bookings and recommended the best places to visit as well as giving us water to take with us free of charge and with no limits.||Our seven night booking qas for the half board package. You could swap dinner for lunch if you wanted. Meals were served either in the main dining room or outside in the Secret Garden restaurant. The food quality was excellent in both restaurants and the food was beautifully presented and served by very pleasant staff. Our only comment is that we felt the hotel could have offered a little more variety of food. The half board package menu alternates on a daily basis in both restaurants|but does not change. Therefore you can be choosing off the same menu on several occasions. You can choose off the a la carte menu in both restaurants using a €45 per person allowance for your half board but this menu does not change in either restaurant even though there are some daily special items offered.|Breakfast is served in the main dining room. Very helpful and attentive serving staff will provide you with anything that you want. The selection on the breakfast buffet is superb and should suit all tastes.|Our large room was very clean, quiet and comfortable. The room attendants kept everything very tidy and provided us with a plentiful supply of water at all times. Our bathroom was small and possibly a bit dated but everything worked well and the shower was powerful and very hot if you wanted.||The hotel pool area is compact but very pleasant. There was no problems in finding sunbeds and it never felt overcrowded.|We did not use the spa but we know from talking to other guests that it is a fantastic facility that includes a very large indoor swimming pool.||We cannot fault the Corinthia Palace at all and we recommend this hotel for a five star relaxing and very enjoyable holiday experience in Malta.

Corinthia Palace Malta is a truly magical retreat nestled in a serene suburban setting beside the stunning Sant’ Anton Gardens. Every detail felt effortlessly perfect. Kiel at the spa was exceptional (and dealt with my sassy playfulness perfectly). Juan and Renuka delivered massages that were nothing short of extraordinary. Gemma and Sita at breakfast greeted us with warmth and genuine care, making each morning a delight. Housekeeping was impeccable, folding and organizing our suite daily with remarkable attention to detail. The hotel’s location is perfect for exploring Mdina and Rabat, easily accessible by bus or cab. Staff consistently welcomed us throughout the property, and our suite was replenished with water and coffee multiple times a day. The only small areas for improvement were hotel front entrance doors not being automated solely for ease of entry with luggage and the occasional pool lounge chair cleanliness. Otherwise, this was one of the most nearly perfect hotel experiences we’ve ever had.|Thank you Corinthia for a phenomenal stay!

Thoroughly enjoyed my visit here. The staff were friendly, courteous and helpful. The bed was very comfortable and enjoyed a restful night. The food was great quality, well prepared and presented and absolutely delicious! The facilities were popular but did not feel crowded. All in all, my favourite hotel stay of the year. I'd love to find an excuse to come back!

We had a lovely time at the Corinthia Palace. It’s a lovely hotel with great friendly staff. The Italian restaurant was exceptional. They took good care of us, booked reservations at nice restaurants and helped booked us a boating excursion. Ramesh at the front desk was especially helpful like when we needed to make last minute changes in our plans, he went above and beyond to help us. |Look forward to being back!

A very clean and extremely well run hotel in a quiet residential area of Malta. A great base for getting about and enjoying the sights and a peaceful retreat to return to each evening. Comfortable beds, good food but in our opinion don’t go for the half board package as much better options available at reasonable prices within the hotel on the a la carte menus. |Friendly and professional staff who know their jobs, helpful but not intrusive. |Will definitely return and recommend to others.
