"Why we love it: A luxury resort with top-notch amenities in the heart of Malta The Highlights: - A variety of room types to accommodate all travelers - Five on-site bars and restaurants, including the historic Villa Corinthia - A regal pool surrounded by loungers and gardens The Review: In 1959, the Pisani family patriarch bought the historic Villa Refalo, intending for it to be a home for him, his wife, and their six children, as well as a restaurant. When he died unexpectedly, his children took over the property, first turning it into a wedding hall, and then a luxury hotel called Corinthia Palace. Even though the Pisanis have since expanded the Corinthia brand to 14 hotels around the world, they still own and operate the Malta original, running it with all the amenities required of a five-star stay. Here, guests find five bars and restaurants, a swanky outdoor pool and garden area, tennis courts, a deluxe spa and fitness center, and friendly, attentive service. The afternoon tea, served in your choice of British or Maltese style in the Orange Grove Brasserie, is a must, while the daily breakfast spread is generous and tasty. Ranging from superior rooms to executive suites, accommodations feature comfy beds and private balconies or terraces. All come with complimentary access to the Athenaeum Spa, but higher category options also include entry to the Executive Lounge, where guests can enjoy a daily breakfast buffet and complimentary wine, spirits, and canapés each evening. Speaking of the spa, it's currently being renovated and will be unveiled in April 2020 with a new design byGoddard Littlefair, a new parternship with ESPA for treatments, and new facilities includingseven treatment rooms, a relaxation lounge, and a thermal area."
Corinthia Palace Malta (Attard, San Anton) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels
"Across from San Anton Palace in Attard’s leafy residential quarter, Corinthia Palace began as a 19th-century villa, once home to Edward de Bono, later host to Queen Elizabeth. Today, it remains Malta’s original grande dame, refreshed with care but still unmistakably classic. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, with a mix of styles and balconies that overlook the gardens or quiet surrounding streets. The spa is expansive, the pools generous, and the shuttle to Valletta makes exploring easy. This isn’t the version of Malta you see on a postcard, and that’s exactly why it works." - Tablet Hotels
Lovely hotel, clean rooms and excellent staff. Everyone is helpful.
Breakfast is one of the best I have had, includes buffet and you can order pancakes, eggs and so on off the menu.
Would recommend everyone to come here!

Firstly, I have to acknowledge the consistently friendly and excellent service.
The location is great, in regards access to all areas of the island, but also means there isn't much that is walkable. But we obviously knew that before arriving!
The disappointment is the dated feel of the rooms and bathrooms. The room was very large, but the bathroom very small. And both felt very dated and not what I would consider 5 star. Instant coffee in sachets in the room was quite disappointing, for example. The pool area is lovely, but with the usual 'reservation' of loungers with towels, which meant loungers went apparently unused for several hours when people were looking. Also, clearly a lot of people booking from outside the hotel to spend time by the pool, which in peak season can make it difficult to find a spot if you're not there early!
The communal rooms, such as the dining room are beautiful, but breakfast is expensive for what you get, with some options being an additional charge and it being exactly the same every day making it somewhat tedious by day 5. Ordering off the menu and being told those items are on the buffet so just help yourself, also felt less than premium for the price! Service was very friendly though.
To summarise, it is a very friendly, very lovely hotel, butm for me, it falls a little short of feeling 5 star luxury.

A most welcoming hotel with excellent service from checkin to checkout. Every member of staff we had contact with were friendly and helpful. Our room was kept exceptionally clean and we were always asked by housekeeping if we had everything we needed. The breakfast team were cheerful in the mornings and the pool bar staff, with a special mention to Ayush and Edward, were great. The shuttle bus to Valletta was an added bonus We will definitely return as the hotel was a peaceful oasis in Malta

Stayed for 7 days recently and loved our time at the hotel. Lovely welcome when we arrived with concierge parking our car and helping with bags as well as restaurants and live music events being explained to us.
Room is quite old fashioned but it’s in keeping with the hotel, furniture is big and heavy and the bed is amazing, so comfortable. The roll out bed for my 14 year old was also really comfortable and there was plenty of room even with this additional bed.
The pool area is really nice, well looked after and the gardens beautiful. Pool drink are quite expensive especially water so we went to local supermarket.
The gym is as good as any hotel gym I’ve used and had ample weight even for someone who lifts quite regularly.
Josephine’s cafe is lovely and weekend menu is nice, the secret garden has very high standard food, unfortunately we didn’t eat in the other two restaurants as my daughter eats quite plain so we have to keep it safe but it’s a regret as they are lovely spaces. Maybe we will have a chance if we ever return.
So happy with my choice for the week and would highly recommend. Thank You corinthia.

We enjoyed our weekend at the Corinthia Hotel Attard. All the staff were so helpful and always with a smile on their faces. The hotel was very clean and the room service was exceptional. We used the Spa and they offered professional service. The restaurants were also great and the staff attending our breakfast were great. Thank you for your attention to detail during our stay.

A beautiful hotel, deserving of its 5 stars.|We had a wonderful week here for our first stay in Malta. From our welcome on arrival, to our departure, we found the food, service, and ambiance of the hotel to be just what we were looking for.|Breakfast was outstanding. A great selection of freshly made to order hot, and a cold selection of cheeses, meats, pastries and fruits. Everything we could ask for, and it set us up for the day.|We dined in the restaurants on three evenings, and the food was outstanding. The menu was not huge, and we would perhaps have liked to have more choice, but what we had was amazing, and the maître d and servers were discreet and very personable. All staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble.|We had lunch at the poolside restaurant a couple of times. Nice menu and good ice cream. We had been there for a few days before we realised that there are buzzers on the parasols to press for service. One we knew this, we found the service to be great.||If dining elsewhere, there a a couple of very good restaurants within easy walking distance of the hotel. One is an Italian. Nice Pizzas and pasta.||Our room was nice, with a balcony to the front of the property. It was a little bit noisy as there is a busy road there, but it didn't bother us much. The room could do with updating, especially the bathroom, but it was fine.||The shuttle bus to Valetta leaves from the front door in the morning and returns you to the hotel at 4pm. This was great, and meant we didn't have to rely on taxis all the time. If we didn't want to return in the afternoon, we let the driver know not to wait for us. You must book the return trip at Reception. We saw people being disappointed because they thought they just had to turn up. There were no seats for them, which was a shame. Book it the night before.||We loved this hotel, and only had one problem with it. Dogs! Why does such a lovely hotel allow dogs in their bars and restaurants? There were quite a few during our stay. Not great for people with allergies.

We had the pleasure of spending the evening at the Corrinthia Palace Hotel on Wednesday 23rd July. We had and amazing evening. Firstly its a beautiful location. The service, food and drinks were all top notch. But above all, the vibe of the evening was fantastic. The local singer, Kevin Paul Calleja, was excellent he played a very long set which was a mixture of well known covers, some Maltese favourites and he was able to engage the audience, and there was lots of singing along with him. I would definitely return as soon as we are back in the Malta. They have regular events all with different forms of entertainment. I hear the Friday night Veuve Clicquot night is also an excellent event.

The Restaurant was an amazing experience with a wonderful view of the pool and gardens. Food was really good. We were served by Rahul who is very polite, kind and helpful. I was even given a gadget to hang my handbag at the table. Would definitely recommend the The Secret Garden, truly a magical place with an amazing staff.
