Dead Poet is a Hidden Wine Cellar Speakeasy in Austin | Eater Austin
"A neighborhood pub that has opened a concealed speakeasy in its former wine cellar. The hidden bar is intentionally hard to find; access is initiated via a secret link on the pub's website (clicking the black-and-white door on the homepage leads to the reservations page), and after booking guests receive emailed instructions on how to enter. It's presented as a cozy, new weekend hotspot." - Courtney E. Smith
Cocktails were acclimate, wide variety of whiskey, knowledge behind the spirits. Mitch the owner is an awesome guy! I highly suggest giving this small business your attention! We live out of state but will definitely be back every time we visit!

Impressive collection (bourbon, rye, Port). Very knowledgeable. Offers great personal customer service, goes out of their way to make you feel at home. Low key quiet atmosphere w/soft tunes. Apparently, a fire pit out back. Looking to expand the collection into Irish & Scotch whiskey. We'll be back! Thanks Mitch!

The bartender was very nice and helpful. The drinks were delicious! My favorite was Quit Cha Mitchin'. They have good seasonal drinks as well.

Mitch was awesome! Came in with my brother and his wife who are locals and had a great time! My girlfriend and I are from the Nashville area and this place seems like something you would find Nashville. Definitely would recommend

Went here with some friends for an evening beverage. Atmosphere is spectacular. We had a couple manhattens and old fashions. They were both excellent. We also tried a top shelf whisky that was also wonderful. We plan to stop here a couple more times on our little vacation.

Very laid back bourbon bar (beer/wine available). Nice selection. Outside shaded deck seating. Live music sometimes. Very friendly, knowledgeable staff. Good times.

Yelp
Mitch is AMAZING! Great hospitality and amazing drinks! The atmosphere is really chill. Definitely stop by!
UPDATE: the next day of Aug 20th after visiting this place, I received the email of my receipt. I see that Mitch charged himself a tip of $12.25. I know for sure I did not tip Mitch myself. Plus that # to tip is very odd. Not only did he to that to my but he also tipped himself on my other friends tab who I went with. NOT COOL MITCH!

Yelp
Politics and business should not mix and is poor taste if you ask me no matter what party you are with or voting for. I enjoyed the times that I did go into the establishment but then I encountered the political rally that was promoted. Never again will I do business with this establishment.

Yelp
This place is something Sparta needed! A nice place to sit, relax, socialize, and enjoy a drink. Everyone is super nice and always has great recommendations for things to try!
They have live music events and add to the atmosphere and wine pairing events as well. Great place to go!

Yelp
Love this addition to Sparta's downtown. Relaxed atmosphere, great selection of wine, craft beer and more. Popular with the locals and visitors alike.

Yelp
Love this quaint little place. It's atmosphere is rich. The service was great and the owner, Kristen, has a great team. It's a nice place to pop into to a glass or two. Thinking about trying out their tasting club-which I didn't know they had til recently. Live music and now the outside patio-can't wait to see what else they bring to the night life for downtown!

Yelp
Been here a couple times. I'll give it 5 stars because I think this place is just what its trying to be. Its not insanely ritzy but its not 10 guys on bar stools drinking Busch Light either.
Its a small place, about 25 seats (some are couches) but its a great place for date night or just stopping after work for a drink or two if you like wine and whiskey. They also keep a few rotating craft beers on tap so there should be something for everyone. They do not serve food but when I was there another table had a pizza delivered so that seems to be an option if your'e hungry.
