First time visiting here since we stayed one night in Abilene. Friday night is definitely busy. We got a couple of seats at the bar to wait on our table. It took about 10 minutes to get our drinks and 5 minutes later we were seated. We ordered an appetizer and waited. I noticed people that sat after us were already getting food. I flagged our server and he checked and admitted his submitted order was never received. They rushed it out and Jatin, not sure I spelled it right, brought out the appetizer 30 after we ordered it. Again, he apologized and said a manager would stop by to say something. We ordered our food and ate. For the next hour no manager came by. Now mind you, I didn't need a manager to come by. I didn't expect anything. We just wanted to eat, drink, and enjoy our dinner. Jatin gave us our check and dropped the appetizer from the bill. That was generous of him. He was fantastic and we took care of him. The food was good and the environment was cool but a bit loud. That's expected for a busy night. I gave it 4 stars but could have been 5. We won't be coming back if we ever stop in Abilene again.

Google
Seasonal cocktails and delicious food. Never had a bad meal here! One of our favorites for a night out and the old fashioned is easily in the top 5 in all of Abilene.

Google
Excellent experience. The wait staff were very friendly and prompt. The meal was cooked to order. The crusted cauliflower was excellent. Mashed potatoes were creamy with good flavor. Steak was cooked to order. Would definitely come again and recommend the establishment highly.

Google
Food and service was great! I was not sure about peanut coleslaw, but I was plesantly suprised, try it if you are not allergic (obviously). Kid pizza was like a full size pizza! It was fire-roasted so my daughter did not like the bottom of the crust. So, be advised. But I ate the pizza and the rest of the family loved the food.

Visited Thursday evening. Took way too long to be acknowledged let alone seated. Finally sat down. Ordered side of Mac and cheese, truffle fries, and cheesecake. Other folks seated and ordered after us a received their order. The $7 Mac and cheese was a joke. Did not even have four bites in the bowl. I was actually pretty sad, I love their pizza despite the lack of service we have received on numerous occasions

Came here for my anniversary and made a reservation. They ask on the reservation if you prefer a booth, a tabletop, or a table. We chose a table. When we arrived, it was a small wait, not long, but they ended up sitting us at a high-top table. We tried giving it a try, but the chairs were super uncomfortable and so tall! I'm pretty short, so it was hard climbing that tall mountain to sit. We had to eventually ask to move because we were very uncomfortable, plus so many flies at the window that it was disturbing us. We were moved to a table by the bar area, and our server changed to a bartender. She was nice, but the service was lacking because she was making drinks and attending to us. I ordered the roasted chicken with a side of mashed potatoes. I was very disappointed that the plate came with a smudge of mashed potatoes hidden under the chicken. It was frustrating because the menu says it's a side, but it was non-existent. However, the chicken was absolutely delicious! The sauce was so addictive as well. It would have been nice if I had mashed potatoes on the side so I could eat the sauce with the potatoes. My husband ordered The New Yorker, and he loved it! The only thing is he's not a fan of rye bread, but that's his preference; everything was good. I do have to mention that their chips were probably some of the best homemade chips I've tasted. I wanted to order a bag to go. I wouldn't go here for a romantic dinner and probably wouldn't return. The atmosphere is lacking for a quiet place to eat. It's very loud, and they kept breaking glasses nonstop. We couldn't enjoy our time there. So, the food was great, but the atmosphere was not so great.

Google
It took a good bit before getting seated. However, the food made up for it. Our server Jacob catered to our needs and provided excellent customer service. Will definitely visit again when in town.

Google
Went there twice for dinner with some work colleagues (first trip was that good). Service was friendly and attentive. Our waiter gave us some great recommendations. Had the pork chop the first time…good gravy that was good. Had the pork ribs the second time and, unlike most times when you get ribs, I was full after the meal. Definitely recommend this spot for a great atmosphere and terrific food!

Yelp
Love this place. Especially in Abilene. Food: Everything was amazing. You can see pictures. The sauce on the roasted chicken was fire! Service: Evette was the bomb. I'll definitely request her when we come back. She's the one who recommended our appetizer and dinners! She was super sweet. Ambiance: This place is insane for Abilene lol. It feels like a different country. Be back very soon!

Yelp
I have eaten at this tavern several times, and each time, the food was excellent. Cooked perfectly, presented well, and delicious going down. The drinks and service were also professional and polite. My one complaint is reservations. You can make reservations, but they don't always deliver. Better to check in early and confirm a few times. It's a small place, so they don't have many ways to accommodate you re: seating. Still, the food is worth the trouble.

Lanie A.

Yelp
Without a doubt one of our favorite restaurants. The atmosphere is so relaxing with mood lighting for dinner, and plenty of space to enjoy our food. We are always very nicely greeted at the door and sit down to dine very quickly. The service is very nice and speedy, we've had multiple waiters but they have all excelled finely. The food is always so delicious, it makes me want to try something new every time and they never disappoint! Can't wait to be back!

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place but I was disappointed with my meal. This place is very nice inside and the service is great! I had the pork ribs and unfortunately the flavor was there but It was very dry and kinda burnt on top so I didn't enjoy It but the mashed potatoes were really good .

Vonda S.

Yelp
Pricey but food was great! Staff was on top of it. Went for a lunch meeting, coworkers' food all looked delicious
google avatar

Zada S.

Yelp
What a little gem in Abilene, Texas everything we had on the menu was pretty delicious and there was definitely more I wanted to try unfortunately our server sucked and must've been having a bad day because she didn't know up and didn't tell us about the specials and was pretty much preoccupied the entire time, but the food was a shining star so next time we'll just order to go or sit at the bar

Yelp
Wow I was pleasantly surprised!! If you are in the Abilene area this place is definitely one not to miss ! I'm so happy something of this scale has put some roots here ,.. From the atmosphere to the plates ! To the taste of the food or to the beautiful open kitchen n bar Don't be turned off from some of these low stars (which I don't even understand why or if we ate at the same place ) Coming from Austin to visit family this now is sure to be new spot for us to come to ,... -The kitchen : stunning ! Love to see an open concept with chefs doing their thing n the passion put into every dish -The atmosphere: casual with a splash of class I feel u can easily make it a date night spot or enjoy being there with a causal vibe -Prices : reasonable for the amount of food , quality and presentation - food; I don't think there was a dish on the table someone didn't like ,.. chef has a seasoned hand n attention to detail -Cleanliness ; detailed clean and the bathrooms well kept with beautiful napkins for hand w/ a personalized candle -Parking: its a multipurpose building so parking I will say is difficult depending on time but there is a fair amount of it -Customer service calling : friendly n great with reservations n lenient with text to confirm. - customer service when dining nothing much to say,... didn't go above n beyond no introduction Meh In all we'll be back n hopefully this wasn't beginners luck ina restaurant

Yelp
Great experience. Wood fired pizza and great wine selection. Eat on the patio when the weather is favorable.

Yelp
Visited twice this week while working in Abilene. Once with a large group and once with a smaller bunch. Service was great both times. Beautiful spot in Abilene. The patio is so great, you would have no idea you were in West Texas. green space, water, room for kids to run around. The food is excellent and there are so many options, something for every taste. Their desserts are yum, best tres leches ever! Also recommend the coconut mojito, will be craving it till I'm back! What an awesome addition to Abilene.

Julie S.

Yelp
Traveling through Abilene and tried out Cork and Pig. We ate outside. View was great and service matched. The food and drinks were amazing

Yelp
I have gone for brunch three times and dinner once. The dinner was nothing special. However, the brunch was what initially brought me back the first two times. This most recent and last time has me thinking differently. Normally I would go soon after they opened and the food was great, this last time I went several hours after opening and the difference in quality was shocking. Some of my food was cold and certain items on the plate were clearly prepared differently than the last two times. The place was very busy so I understand trying to get things out from the kitchen but if you can only get food out by serving it cold then maybe a different approach is needed especially when they're charging the prices that they are. Picture is from the 2nd time I went and I can assure you the food looked NOTHING like how it did in the picture this most recent visit.
google avatar

Jennifer M.

Yelp
Place was somewhat busy, sat at the empty bar for brunch. Service was subpar and biscuits and gravy brunch was awful. Biscuits were clearly old, hard and took 30 minutes to get our order. Garden salad was lovely and devil eggs were good. Watching the bar staff makes drinks it was clear they are inexperienced. We were just passing through town but certainly would not make an effort to go again if the opportunity presented itself.

Yelp
The food is always great. The tres leche cake is decadent and a must. Order one piece and share with one or two others!
google avatar

Yelp
Great food :) The New Yorker was loaded with pastrami, Swiss cheese and a Cole slaw. I highly recommend this place. The service was exceptional and the ambiance is absolutely amazing.
google avatar

Yelp
Abilene has definitely upgraded In food choices !! Holy shit that was one of the best salads I've ever had !!!! I had the Zuni and KC had the steak. I would drive to Abilene just to eat here !!! Oh and that Tres Leches cake ... 10 stars !! Cool interiors. Big bar area. Service friendly and attentive.

Yelp
Came on a Saturday night so no surprise we had to sit at the bar, which was not busy at all for a place with a dining room wait. Everyone was super friendly especially the hostess. Smash burger was great, as were the deviled eggs and truffle fries. Only real complaint was the bartenders congregating at the other end of the bar to talk amongst themselves rather than serving customers sitting at the bar. If you end up at the bar, sit at the end farthest from the front door and you should be good
google avatar

Shiela A.

Yelp
Wow! The food was amazing and not run of the mill. Staff was great! I will definitely be going back.
google avatar

Yelp
We were visiting the area from LA and so far had not been impressed with the food UNTIL Cork and Pig Tavern. Thank goodness our sweet server made some recommendations. Food was amazing. We had fish tacos, Pig pizza, Roasted chicken with mushroom gravy and the French dip! Don't forget the Mac n cheese! We all tried everyone's dish and couldn't decide whose was the favorite! The cocktails were also top notch! And perfect modern stylish ambience. I almost forgot I was in Texas (until the gravy!) We will definitely be coming back.
google avatar

Leslie P.

Yelp
Great place! It smelled amazing when we walked in and the food was as good as it smelled. The service was excellent. They told us the wait was almost an hour and we were seated in about 10 minutes.
google avatar

Katy S.

Yelp
Omg! Absolutely the worst experience on every level. Party of 6 (big?) Host lost our group twice so after 45 minutes we finally were seated outside and had to put our own tables together. No wait staff until we flagged them down. All immediately place food and drink orders (staving!). Apparently they are out of Bud Light (don't judge it wasn't mine) on Friday night. Only water and soda were brought then 10 min later 1 cocktail and 15 after that the second finally appeared. Food... ahh... food finally appeared. 2 out of 3 pizzas. ‍. As 2/3 of the table is finishing our food arrived. We simply refused it. At this point we are over it. Lastly, they screwed up our check, we paid what we owed and left. We will never be back. Good luck.

Yelp
Go figure even on a Wednesday night, this place is hopping. With every table filled the mgr even helped out and took my order. He apologized that things were a bit slow. The grilled tuna tacos and spaghetti squash were divine accompanied with a beautiful glass of Austin Hope cab. I'll be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Great food, amazing service, fantastic ambiance and super friendly staff !! A great place to stop anytime you are close to Abilene, Texas.

Yelp
Best food service in Abilene!! Amazing food. Beautiful scenery! The waitress was very kind. Environment very clean.

Farland C.

Yelp
I visited while in town for a conference. The food and drinks were good. The service was outstanding.
google avatar

Jason C.

Yelp
Everything about this place was great. I had the roasted chicken, my son had the salmon and my daughter the pizza. All tasted great! My wife said her salad was really good as well. Service was prompt and friendly. We will be back!
google avatar

Joseph M.

Yelp
Oh my goodness, so many good things to say about this place. First, their food was to die for. I got the Wagyu Smash Burger, and it was less of a Smash Burger and more of Texan heaven. It took a little while to come out, but it was well worth the wait. Loved everything, 13/10, would inhale again.

Yelp
Abilene, home of 3 colleges so it's certainly a college town. With a kiddo here for college and football, we had to venture and find somewhere to eat. They Yelp reviews were pretty good, so after a football game at the stadium, Cork and Pig Tavern was the pick to try. It's located across from Abilene Christian University (ACU) Stadium. It is located in a newer retail area with other food establishments along with things like a Yoga studio and more. The ambience is nice. It overlooks the water on the back side. There is patio seating available as well. The service is pretty good. Must admit we've had REALLY, REALLY good and we've have mediocre. It can be a hit and miss. Everything I have eaten here thus far has been really good. My favorite is the salmon covered in crab with the lemon butter caper sauce. DELICIOUS! Their beef stroganoff and fish and chips also really good. They have the skinny shoestring fries seasoned just right. They get their ingredients fresh each day which explains the food quality. :) The kiddos like everything from the chicken parmesan to the burgers too. This was honestly our #1 go to spot this football season. We'll be back a few times in the spring too.

Yelp
I'm on a personal journey to try all the steakhouses in Abilene, Texas. I have very high expectations and everything is compared with a Texas Roadhouse as the food is decently priced and the service excellent. When the price is higher my first thought is, the food better be a much higher quality and taste. The good I found: nicer upscale restaurant sported a nice aesthetic. The bad: Way overpriced! My steak was $50+ and comes with only one side. No salad, no rolls, no soups. I feel also that a $7 Coors Light bottles is also a bit over priced. Also bad, the food. My steak was cold or cool actually. I noticed it was cooked correctly, so where was all the juice that should have been flowing out of it and all over the plate? The butter on top had not started to melt which also shows how cool/cold the steak was. Why was this served to me like this? My guess, it stayed in the window too long, got cold and instead of bringing it straight out to me, they decided to change out the plate for a clean one and all my steaks flavor sent to the dish washer. I question the quality of the meat as it was full of gristle and was hard to chew. Bad service, I like to sit at the bar, they were not busy on this Wednesday night. The young lady more or less ignored me for several minutes, finally came to take my order. Once my cold steak was delivered, no one else talked to me until I waved her down to get another beer. No one from the restaurant asked about my experience or if I was enjoying the food or if I needed anything. I couldn't finish the cold steak and waited patiently till I could catch my waitress' attention. I asked for a to go box and the check. $70+ dollars for a cold steak full of gristle and 2 beers. The fries came with the steak. I gave her a moderate tip. I'm leaving disappointed in this establishment. My review speaks for itself, if you are going to be upscale with fewer menu options and higher prices, the food and service also needs to be upscale. The only thing I found here that was upscale was the prices!
google avatar

Cooper R.

Yelp
Food was decent. I got a filet. Cooked just right. However, they put some nasty bbq sweet sauce on the steak. It ruined the flavor. The atmosphere is so-so. Definitely a trendy, lefty kinda joint. The bartender girls (4 of them) did the job of 1-2 normal bartenders. They are not very attentive unless their frat/sorority kinda friends buying $12 appetizers are around. They were always talking to them. I asked to pay my tab and they asked if I wanted to see the ticket before she took my card. Granted, they left my wine off the bill. I could've saved some money but damn, this place is a definite no-go for me coming back. Maybe those young kids behind the bar are new and it takes that many to do the job of a seasoned bartender. If that's the case, I'll try again one day. But not for a while.
google avatar

Linda P.

Yelp
Great spot to hang out on the patio and enjoy great food and drinks! The service was fantastic. It was my first visit, the waitress provided amazing suggestions on appetizers. Will definitely go again if in the area.
google avatar

Brenda R.

Yelp
Great food (pizza and salad) and awesome server! Glad they're opening in our area soon!

Jacob M.

Yelp
Don't waste your time. Try taylor county tap house. Boring menu . Don't waste a date night on this place. Salads way overdressed. Peanut sauce is gross. Pizza are soggy and mid, at best.

Yelp
10's all around! Ask for Leif for the best Old Fashioned in town!!! Super attentive and personable staff! && an in between vibe of chill and elegance, la crème de la creme

Yelp
So let's start with the positives... The aesthetics of this place are spot on! It's really clean, simple, and modern. I really thought it was visually attractive. Now let's get to the food... We started with the calamari, which was pretty good overall. I had a salad and just asked for grilled chicken and any fresh vegetables available... They put some pumpkin seeds in it, which I was not a fan of, plus there were apricots and avocados... (Which are not fresh vegetables...) so that was not exciting, but I've picked out the majority of those. The chicken that was used was very good. My husband had the fish and chips. The fish was NOT visually pleasing at all... It looked like deep fried logs, as you will see . The flavor was OK, but we aren't even sure what type of fish it was because it's not specified on the menu. The truffle fries were OK, but they were definitely heavily seasoned. Beware the menu is small, and the service can be slow... we may return ‍
google avatar

Jared K.

Yelp
The waitress was just an extremely awkward person and not very friendly at all. Maybe they should move her to back of house as she was very antisocial. The burger was so bad. It was extremely burnt. My wife loved her chicken and side salad though!
google avatar

Kevin L.

Yelp
This place was incredible!! Spinach and artichoke dip was a great start. The ribs fell off of the bone and had a great flavor and char. The Mac and cheese was some of the best I have ever had and the double cut pork chop was out this world. You could cut it with a butter knife. We topped it off with some beignets. Just incredible. We left talking about what we were going to order next time. On a side note, if you do want to melt your eyebrows, try the fish tacos. Spicy!!!

Yelp
Cork & Pig Tavern is a more upscale "New" American cuisine restaurant in Abilene. Atmosphere: Located in the Allen Ridge Center near ACU, the restaurant is a nicely outfitted space with both indoor and outdoor dining. Nice woods and well appointed table and chairs throughout. It has a very nice atmosphere. 1 Star Service: We had a reservation for the night (highly recommended) and were quickly seated at our table that was already prepped and ready for us. The waiter was stellar and on top of everything. Great experience. 2 Stars Food: I can't say a bad thing. From the Calamari to the Artichoke dip to the meals, everything was fantastic. The dipping sauce for the Calamari had a nice kick to it. The artichoke dip was also nice and garlicky. The wife got the Roasted Chicken and the cream sauce with it was really good ( I think I may have eaten half her meal). I had to go with the Ultimate Pepperoni pizza. Crispy crust, lots of spicy pepperoni, and dollops of mozzarella made for a very tasty experience. 2 Stars Overall: We will be back for more. Definitely should be a mainstay for Abilene for years to come. 5 Stars

Yelp
Glenda's best friend was in town, so we tried Cork and Pig for the first time. Good choice! If the weather is nice, the patio by the lake is the place to be. The girls tried fish tacos and the tomato bisque. I got the New Yorker, their version of a Rueben. Please admire my pic, because the New Yorker was delicious! Definitely worth trying. The girls really enjoyed the tacos and soup. Service was fast and friendly. They've got a great bar, if you happen to be thirsty. Allen Ridge is the hot spot in Abilene, and Cork and Pig Tavern is a great addition to the area. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Awesome spot north side of town! Great food and bar! Pizza are amazing with great service! Cool spot to hangout with friend on a summer afternoon outside
google avatar

AK M.

Yelp
Cork & Pig is our favorite place to eat when it's just my husband and I. The food and drinks are always superb and the service is excellent. We've even received free beignets the last two times we dined there and have never had to wait to be seated. It may be pricier than other places in town but the quality of the food is absolutely worth it.

Yelp
Concerning my disappointing review of our recent experience, I noted MARIAH's defense of "her" experience. Let me point out that this person was at the far end of the table far away from me and my wife. She wasn't even paying attention to us, nor did she witness my tasting experience. Also be aware that she is best friends of our hostess that evening, who is also is best friends with the manager! So - gauge her review retort "accordingly." Her comment that the rest of the group enjoyed the food is false. My wife also did not enjoy her food. It was not a 911 call, my wife though did consider it. And to my knowledge, the staff did not joke with me afterwards. Brittany was our server that night and she was not laughing. Let me explain that the cocktail sauce was for my wife. She wanted it for her too salty fish. The chef should've tasted it before it came out. It looked suspect when it came to the table, so I tasted it. I'm happy my wife did not eat it, because her reaction might've been much worse. As a stage 4 colon cancer survivor, I don't want her system stressed any further than necessary. However: I have been contacted by the Owner of the store, and we had a nice conversation. She first thanked me for my review, then apologised for my experience. And she also said she'd visit with the team to insure this never happens again. A few days later, I received a $75.00 gift certificate with the promise that our next visit would be stellar! We WILL try it again and I will post an updated comment, if warranted.

Yelp
6:40 December 23, 2022. We arrive as a party of 7 and had to wait for a table. About 25 minutes. We ordered drinks and appetizers. The appetizer arrived before the drinks. @ 7:25. Ordering drinks was a circus in itself. They were out of what I wanted so I chose a different drink. It arrived at 7:28. They were out of what my dad ordered so he ordered a different drink. 86 that too. 3rd try....... 86 that too. He finally got a beverage at 7:38. My brother ordered the 15 year old bourbon ($35) and feels pretty confident he was served the 5 year old bourbon. Idk. I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. About the food: Spinach and artichoke dip was delicious. And I really enjoyed the calamari. I didn't like the red sauce but the tartar was tasty. Meals arrived at 7:58. The burger was devoured. The French Dip was not. And the au jus was room temp. Both the folks that ordered the fish and chips complained about under seasoning/ over cooking. Picked at it but didn't take any home. I had the SoCal pizza and found it amazing. Shared with my sis n law and carried the rest home for leftovers. So yummy. Ticket dropped at 8:24. $211 2 apps- 5 entree & 6 cocktail. The best part of this experience was our server Duste. Didn't let any of the hiccups get to her attitude. All in all I suggest you make up your own mind if ya want to give it a shot.

K G.

Yelp
Wonderful chicken dish. A definite must in Abilene. We sat in the bar where the server had little to no life but the food was good.

Yelp
First of all, love the vibe in here. The lights are not too bright, but also not too dim. The service at the bar was spectacular. The bartender was right there when he sensed that I needed something, but didn't try to intrude on my meal with small talk. The food is very consistent, as this is the third time I've been here, but it's the first time I've gotten the salmon. It was cooked perfectly and had a generous portion of crab on top. It was well seasoned on both sides and the lemon butter and capers took it to the next level. The deviled eggs and potatoes were also well made, but the star of the show was the salmon. They didn't have it the last time I visited, so try it while you can!

Jody J.

Yelp
C&P used to be one of my favorites in Abilene, but this week was rough. I eat here once or twice a week. Service as bad yesterday and food was bad today. They are really slipping in both food and service quality

Yelp
We found this restaurant by using yelp and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere and the food were really good and reasonable. We had the pizza and calimari and both were outstanding. Ethan B was our waiter and he was fantastic and very detailed oriented. We will definitely go back if we are ever in this area again.

Yelp
The atmosphere is great! Very warm and cozy on the freezing night that we went. We sat at the bar and the bartender (guy with earrings) was phenomenal. He was very attentive, made drinks very well and quickly. The salmon was amazing!

Yelp
Pizza almost didn't have any topings on it and cost too much for what i got. We ordered the Pig Pizza. They should be ashamed for selling such a pizza with minimal toppings.
