I'm on a personal journey to try all the steakhouses in Abilene, Texas. I have very high expectations and everything is compared with a Texas Roadhouse as the food is decently priced and the service excellent. When the price is higher my first thought is, the food better be a much higher quality and taste. The good I found: nicer upscale restaurant sported a nice aesthetic. The bad: Way overpriced! My steak was $50+ and comes with only one side. No salad, no rolls, no soups. I feel also that a $7 Coors Light bottles is also a bit over priced. Also bad, the food. My steak was cold or cool actually. I noticed it was cooked correctly, so where was all the juice that should have been flowing out of it and all over the plate? The butter on top had not started to melt which also shows how cool/cold the steak was. Why was this served to me like this? My guess, it stayed in the window too long, got cold and instead of bringing it straight out to me, they decided to change out the plate for a clean one and all my steaks flavor sent to the dish washer. I question the quality of the meat as it was full of gristle and was hard to chew. Bad service, I like to sit at the bar, they were not busy on this Wednesday night. The young lady more or less ignored me for several minutes, finally came to take my order. Once my cold steak was delivered, no one else talked to me until I waved her down to get another beer. No one from the restaurant asked about my experience or if I was enjoying the food or if I needed anything. I couldn't finish the cold steak and waited patiently till I could catch my waitress' attention. I asked for a to go box and the check. $70+ dollars for a cold steak full of gristle and 2 beers. The fries came with the steak. I gave her a moderate tip. I'm leaving disappointed in this establishment. My review speaks for itself, if you are going to be upscale with fewer menu options and higher prices, the food and service also needs to be upscale. The only thing I found here that was upscale was the prices!
