I had an amazing CORNED BEEF SANDWICH here @ Corky & Lenny's! They gave me the option of splitting the sandwich where half was corned beef (5-stars) and the other was pastrami. The pastrami was good, but I must say I preferred the corned beef hands down. My wife ordered a veggie filled poppyseed bagel sandwich, a custard eclair, and we split a bowl of MATZAH BALL SOUP. We shared one half of the soup at the restaurant and the other at our hotel. It was decent, but I enjoy my wife's recipe far more and apparently she did too since she thought the soup was "just okay". I will say, somehow it tasted better the following day after reheating it on our hotel room stove in a small pot. The guys at the meat counter had a surly yet fun sort of take it or leave it attitude that sparked witty dialog between us. We also met the wife of Corky and let me tell you, she is a pistol. She's liable to say anything so be ready! She's a tiny little elderly lady and I'm pretty sure she ain't changing her words for nobody, so just embrace it! Our server was super sweet and many of the older staff seem as if they have been here for years! I'm sure I'd be a regular if we lived in the area. FINAL THOUGHTS Without a doubt the CORNED BEEF SANDWICH here is the star, and its HUGE! I only wish it had been close enough to our Canton hotel to have come for a second visit during our brief stay. Oh well, we will definitely return when we are back in the area visiting our friend (who is currently battling cancer). I've wanted to come to Corky and Lenny's for many years but I don't live in Cleveland. Well, a wedding for great friends drew us to town and I wasn't leaving without getting some tasty deli eats. The place was out of a time warp deli food dream. I even met Mrs Corky, a 92 year old pistol of the Corn beef queen generation. Her sour humor and nature made the experience more memorable and enjoyable. Keep it up! Oh, how's the food you ask, delicious. Potato latkes were excellent. Corned beef was not too fatty and tasty. Pastrami was good, not Katz's good, but solid. Slaw was nice. Potato salad was good. Pickles on table were a plus and new as I like 'em. Two choices of mustard. Nice! Great deli experience and once again Cleveland food does not disappoint. When in town, don't miss Corky and Lenny's. Oh, both namesakes have passed on to the the deli in heaven but they left a slice on earth for us.

I drive up from Columbus once or twice a year just to come here to get a corned beef sandwich, well actually I get two. They are so big that I can eat half and save the rest for my next meal! In addition to a full deli counter this place is also a sit down restaurant. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. With a nice selection of entrees. The staff is always so friendly and efficient. On your way out don't forget to check out their selection of fresh pastries.

I stopped here for lunch at 1:00 pm and I was seated right away and given a menu. My server came right over and took my drink order, and I also placed my order. I ordered a Hot Turkey Sandwich with Mashed Potatoes and gravy. After a couple of minutes, he brought me my lunch. I looked so good. The turkey was sliced thin and there was a lot of meat. The turkey was super tender and moist. Everything was smothered in warm brown gravy. The mashed potatoes were creamy, but you could tell it was homemade, because of very small lumps, it was very good. This is my favorite place to eat when I am in town, and I was so happy to be able to eat here before I left. I would say this is the best hot turkey sandwich I have ever had, everything about it was good and filling. If you like open faced sandwiches, please try this one and let me know what you think. I will definitely be back.

We had a great experience here for Saturday lunch. The wait was short and our server was friendly and attentive. The lakes were amazing and my husband said the blintzes tasted like how his more used to make them! We grabbed a couple pastries to take home and the chocolate eclair was incredible! We'll definitely be back.

Average lunch. We believe the soups were over priced for only chicken broth & noodles. The server was extremely slow and gruff. The ladies bathroom could use a cleaning. The bakery in the showcase looked delicious but we waited so long for our server to bring our soup we didn't want to waste more time with bakery takeout. Ample parking. Hostess gruff too. (Sad).

One of Cleveland's most iconic Jewish deli's. This place was a huge part of my childhood and I am very sad that it is closing after a remarkable 67 year run. They had the best Rueben sandwiches and my personal favorite the mish mash soup which had a matza ball, kreplach served over chicken broth. Corkey & Lenny's you will be missed thank you for all the fond memories.

Quality has gone way downhill. The pickles taste like pure salt with absolutely no other discernible flavor. They were so salty that they were inedible. The pastrami and corned beef was dry, fatty, and stringy. None of us wanted to eat it. The veggie sandwich had 1/2 a brink of cream cheese and thick cut vegetables. My daughter said it tasted like cream cheese and onion. What a waste of money. The hostess is downright surly and needs to retire as of 10 years ago. Waitress was not pleasant at all.The latkes aren't latkes, they are deep fried mashed potato patties. There is nothing I can say to recommend this business anymore. It's sad, because it was such a Cleveland fixture and we were looking forward to it. I will never go back again.

A great warm tongue sandwich! I know many are turned off by the idea of beef tongue, but it is very good, esp. when prepared, sliced thin and served in a deli that knows how to cook it. The king sized sandwich was close to 3 inches high on warm, very fresh rye bread. There are no extras (tomato, lettuce)on the sandwich. There were 2 mustard choices and a regular catsup on the table. A dish with two "new" dill pickles was also brought to the table. My husband and I shared the huge sandwich. He ate the pickles! Our waitress was attentive without hovering. It was a delicious lunch

Corky and Lenny's is a good definition of a neighborhood gem - very good at what they do you will find tasty corned beef and pastrami sandwiches, nova lox bagels and a multitude of other delicacies. Pastries are very good as well, and the service is always nice and attentive. Recommended a visit if you're in the area.

Visited last Sunday for the first time in some years and was disappointed because I really hyped Corky's up to my husband and our entire experience just fell short. The ambiance was lacking - the restaurant was mostly empty. Service was slow and drinks didn't get refilled. Food was eh. Sorry to say the visit was my last.

Food was good , we had 3 corn beef sandwiches and 1veggie burger . All very good ... great pickles . Service was good .

Had a fantastic experience at Corky and Lenny's. I have been coming here since I was little and it has always been the same which is great. When you walk in there is a deli where you can take food to go, or you can sit and eat. There is normally a giant line to get seated but it goes by pretty quickly but on Saturday there was not. I ordered a Reuben but I highly suggest the Beef and Latkes. The Beef and Latkes comes with Corned Beef or Pastrami or Brisket on Potato Pancakes with Applesauce or Sour Cream. I'm kicking myself for not getting this. You can get a Reuben anywhere but not Beef and Latkes. Can't wait until my next trip to Cleveland.

Love going to Corky and Lenny's! No matter what we order we enjoy the deliciousness. This visit I had the Challah French toast with turkey sausage and hot tea. So good, the turkey sausage cut the sweetness perfectly. The order was more than I could eat so I took three slices home and had it the following day for breakfast. My partner had the meat and veggie omelette with hash browns and rye toast. Plus plenty of hot black coffee. Half of his omelette went home for the next day's breakfast too. Service was better than usual due to the snow that morning on the east side of Cleveland, not the normal morning rush of customers, only three tables were being used. Always a good place to stop and eat, no matter when or for which meal.

This is a very busy, yet efficient deli with great food and just an overall hearty experience. I keep coming back. Prices are reasonable and of great value.

Stopped for lunch and the owner was so rude to us that we left before even sitting down. As much as I enjoy a good deli I will not be back.

This place has a full deli and restaurant similar to Jack's Deli. The chopped liver here is much more expensive than Tibor's or Boris's at $15 or $16 per lb (Boris and Tibor's charge about 10 bucks a pound) but still tasty. The barbecue sauced brisket was delicious- not dry, not too fatty or lean either. The egg salad was mostly egg and really thick and creamy. The tuna salad was just bad. It was more fishy than it should be and had a ton of big chunks of hardboiled egg, a lot of creamy mayo, and not much else. I couldn't identify anything else in the mix- no onion, spices, pepper, nothing. It was really lacking in flavor and just tasted of hard boiled egg and tuna. The staff here are always willing to help and have been consistently friendly even though they are often packed to the gills with patrons.

Corn beef. Love it. They even had gluten free bread options. Really enjoyed the pickles they place on your table to nibble on while waiting for your lunch. Looks like a great place for breakfast too!!

Okay food but just not our kind of place and expensive for what you get. We were initially very excited to try Corky and Lenny's after hearing about it from some friends. The menu has a lot of choices and because it was our first time, we really wanted to try the blintzes and latkes. Our fiery enthusiasm was efficiently extinguished over the course of our visit as both were a bit disappointing. I like Denny's blintzes more and the pancakes were extremely bland. They are, just a mashed potato mix that is smooth and homogeneous and fried into a pancake. I am used to ground potatoes mixed with onions and seasonings...but with a warmth and flavor that comforts. We also tried their corned beef Reuben, a Challah melt and a turkey Reuben. The sandwiches were okay, but I do not think we shall ever return and cannot recommend them. Bon chance!

I have not ordered from here in 18yrs because it's not close to me. I recently drove 25m 2x for this sandwich . The first time they were closed due to holiday a few weeks ago. I came back Monday but they're not open. ( w forgot about that) But my corned beef was sliced way too thick and a bit tough plus loaded with fat. It was not a neatly cut sandwich I may add. I was disappointed for $18.95

I like most things on the menu, but when I asked about the chopped chicken liver I was told it is beef liver. That fact is not mentioned on the menu. I thought chicken liver was a must in a deli. Jack's deli also offers beef liver, not chicken.

Made another stop here and my parents were like little kids in a candy store. We ordered from the deli and they ordered Rueben balls, chocolate eclairs, salmon spreads, cheese squares, Reuben sandwiches, soup, 1 enormous rib.... Did I get everything??? Not sure, but they loved it. The restaurant wasn't open due to not having enough help, but we did do take out. Glad we stopped by!

The food and the service was amazing! I am a native new Yorker and used to great deli's. The corned beef was flavorful and abundant. The bread and pickles were fresh. The potato latkes were great!!! We took home bread, cookies, pastries, and other delights. The service and atmosphere was perfect.

So I came here with my husband and toddler, The staff is so friendly and I really appreciated how they brought my babies food before our food (I didn't even ask) lol the food was so good, my husband had the corned beef and I have one of their special sandwiches that I can't remember the name but it started with a C and a H. Everything was very fresh, and I really enjoyed the restaurant. Can't wait to go back

ordered for pickup and the service was very fast. obviously didn't get to really enjoy the ambience of sitting inside the restaurant, but it looked very quaint. That's for my corn beef sandwich. It was delicious.!

In the post-pandemic aftermath, restaurants have gotten expensive. For some reason, I notice this more with deli places than other types of restaurants. Corky & Lenny's has been around forever, I first at there in the late 90's, and they'd been around forever back then. Kind of like how infinity minus 25 years is still infinity. The eternal deli. The restaurant at the end of the universe. I remember one time in 1997 or 98, it was winter, I'd been sick with a pretty bad sore throat, and a lot of congestion. I don't know if it was a cold or the flu or what, but I didn't feel good for about a week. There was a three day stretch when I didn't eat anything at all. God I was skinny back then. I probably weighed a buck-twenty back then. Anyway, I was starving, but it was the weekend and I was starting to feel better. I drove out to the east side to hang out with my best friend, he'd moved out there because it was close to where he worked. Which is where I work, now, but that's a different story. Anyway, I drove out to I-271N and got off at the Chagrin Rd. exit, and we were hungry so we went to Corky & Lenny's for a bite. I got a corned beef sandwich on rye. I really like a good corned beef sandwich. Cleveland had a lot of good places you could go for a really great corned beef sandwich, for about $7-8. Man, as dreary and depressing as the 90s seemed at the time, what I wouldn't give to be able to go back there again. Anyhow, it might not have had anything to do with the restaurant itself, and it probably had more to do with the fact that I hadn't eaten in 3 days. But the corned beef sandwich that I had that night was easily among the top 2 corned beef on rye sandwiches that I've had in my entire life, and the memory of it stays with me to this day. I was out that way again today, and I was hungry, it was lunch time and I decided to pop in. I had another corned beef on rye. It was OK. Pretty good, really, but not mind blowing. For $14.95, it seems like a premium to pay for a simple corned beef. But the killer was the $5.95 they charge for a side of fries, and the $2.95 for a coke. I'd rate them a whole star higher, if the fries were $2 and the coke was $1. I did like the sandwich, but I only wanted to pay for half of it. Good lord, I paid $28 for one guy to have a sandwich that consists of two ingredients, three if you count the condiments. It's just a reminder that we are living in different times. It's post-apocalypse lite, with comforts and good food still available, but everything's so expensive you can afford to eat out maybe once a month.

This was my first time visiting and I'm not a frequenter of deli shops so keep that in mind when reading this review. 3 stars to means "it's okay" and four means "I'm a fan." I'd say my sandwich made me sort of a fan but the everything else made it okay. Okay is not bad. I visited on a Saturday during a late lunch hour and ordered the Beef and Latkes with pastrami and applesauce. I loved the potato pancakes! Crispy and buttery in the outside and soft on the inside. The inside was like mashed and cut potatoes mixed. Their taste made me think of the taste of hash browns. I loved the latkes. The pastrami was thinly sliced, brittle, dry, but slightly moist with a hint of smoky and sweet flavor. It was stacked in a curved pile on the pancake about 2.5 inches, guessing, in the center. I wondered if the pancake would break apart due to the curved shape of the pastrami so for the first half of the sandwich I scrapped of some of the pastrami from the top to make it level as possible. Amazingly the pancake buns didn't break and actually molded themselves to the shape of the pastrami and stayed together. So for the second half of the sandwich I didn't take off any of the pastrami and the two slices of pancakes stayed together despite the curvature of the pastrami. The applesauce was a cool and refreshing addition to the sandwich but I think it disguised the flavor of the pastrami so I didn't put a lot on. The sandwich was served with two quarter pickle slices that where okay. $15.95 for the sandwich seemed like a lot for that sandwich. I won't get again for that price but I'd recommend it for anyone who is going to try it for the first time. The service was excellent. The waitress kept my water supplied and was attentive and pleasant. The dining area was okay. The floors were slippery, probably permanently. Sitting in my booth I could easily slide my feet back and forth on the floor that felt greasy. All I could think of was my years working at Burger King and my feet sliding on the kitchen floors because of the grease.

All I can say is the photos on yelp look much better than the food tasted. Our sandwiches one corn beef Ruben and one pastrami Reuben were sort of bland and barely warm. Light years from Slyman's. The saving grace was our waitress was very nice. Wish I could remember her name. And for entertainment a fight broke out between some patrons and someone on the kitchen staff the cops were called. Haven't been to Corky and Lenny's in about 40 years. Won't be going back anytime soon.

Staying true to it roots, being Cleveland original and one of the best delis in town. When nothing changes - nothing changes. And its a good thing!

Excellent food, great service today, eyes bigger than the stomachs, food for another meal and pastries to go!!!! Rueben's, soups, pickles the best. Old school charm with some "spice" added to the event of eating lunch! Try the angry lean corn beef, it's a show behind the counter!

Made a nostalgic trip to this place for lunch, so a friend could experience their corned beef or pastrami (he enjoyed the latter, with potato salad.) didn't expect much in vegan fare for me, but they took the chicken off an Oprah salad, & gave me plain balsamic vinegar for dressing, as I requested. Only open until 6PM, & not on Mondays.

Best Jewish deli outside of New York City! C&L's brisket sandwich may have been better than those I had in NYC in 11/2022. Juice literally rolled out of the sandwich after we got our takeout order home. I prefer dill pickles over garlic, but the pickle was good too. A must have every time I'm in the greater Cleveland area.

Good breakfast. Tables and place overall was clean. Quick service. Eggs, toast, and has browns was a nice portion size and had great flavor. The French toast appeared to be freshly cooked and good.

Nostalgic deli with big portions and well prepared food. Sandwiches are large with quality meats and cheeses. Sides are good too. Going to try the soups and salads soon.

This place is located in a strip mall, so you wouldn't think it's going to be as large as it is. When you first walk in it offers a traditional deli setting, but once you walk past the counter it opens up into a large space with plenty of tables and booths. I brought my team here for lunch and we all commented on the large menu with many options. I went with a classic, a grilled cheese sandwich, but I was given the option of numerous different breads, and a long list of cheeses. Another member of the team ordered the "famous" Ruben, and it was stacked with meat that was freshly sliced. Everyone enjoyed their meal, and the service was fantastic. Two of our out-of-town guests made the comment "this place is so Cleveland!" I suppose you can take that many different ways, but I chose to take it in a positive light!We will definitely be back for another visit

The hostess will point to a table and tell you to sit. She'll literally throw down some utensils with a loud clang and walk away without saying a word. It's pretty hilarious. The rest of the staff is really attentive, brings out awesome pickles, and will helpfully suggest some Matzah Ball soup. The Reubans are spot on and i will come here everytime I'm back in town!

Great food kind staff quick service will definitely go back one day make sure you try their grilled cheese it was great

The corned beef was tough and fatty. The elderly lady was rude and just mean. The service as ok nothing exceptional. The only pleasant workers were the two young men that had wiped off the table for us. Will not return.

We had been sad that Corky's changed their hours since covid. Those 7pm dinners were no longer. After today's experience we probably won't be back unless they get some decent cooks. Not to mention the price. (40 bucks today for 2 matzoh Breis, 2 hash-browns, 1 coffee and 1 iced tea. No pickles offered). The eggs and hash browns were wet and uncooked. Honestly a bad experience and I feel for the waiter who had to apologize for Poor cooking and bad management! Maybe sandwiches are safer but who knows??? Very sad. We need good deli (we only have Jack's which is also solid) but miss the old Corky's.

Yuck. My sandwich was as cold and salty as the woman who took my order. Literally huffing and puffing. That should have been enough for me to cancel the order. But I figured I would still give them a chance. Plus I had a simple order. 2 Hot Corned Beef and Swiss. My sandwich was salty, dry and simply not what I would have expected from such an established restaurant. The quality of the corned beef is definitely nothing to brag about. I've had better from my local grocery store deli counter. I didn't even have a full slice of cheese. Looks like they cut a piece in half. I asked for my condiments to placed on my sandwich. For a reason, I had a meeting and no time to mess with packets. Overall waste of $27.00. I'll stick with the cream puffs, they're cheaper and at least fill you up!

One of my favorites for sure- have been going here for 30 years at least- a must stop when I'm in Cleveland.

This is a tough one. I love a good deli experience, but I was a bit underwhelmed. The ambiance was great. Classic deli look and staff. That was a plus. As for the food, I was the best orderer of the table. I got a tuna sandwich on an everything bagel with onions and Muenster. It hit the spot. My husband and his friend ordered poorly. They got the lox and egg breakfast with a bagel. Overall, their orders just looked sad. The eggs looked weak. Kind of dry and looked like they'd been out for a while. I'd go back, but I'd likely stick to more of the deli items including the sandwich and lox on bagel as those items all looked awesome!

I loved the MishMash soup and the corned beef was good. I did find it a bit pricey but I'm out of touch on what good deli food costs

This classic Jewish Deli has had its ups and downs over the 60+ years of its existence. The doors have closed and re-opened and generations have noshed on the piled high corned beef sandwiches and crunchy, garlicy pickles. I am not ordinarily a Deli Delightful girl, but I love a juicy deli Reuben sandwich, dripping with melted swiss and classic, chaotic noise that comes with dining at the retro counter bar. We came in on a Friday at noon expecting a wait, but were surprised at the immediate seating...pleasantly surprised. Our poor server seemed to be one of only three and he did the best he could with the circumstances. The Owner, she is a little short of a mustard jar when it comes to professionalism or personality. I suppose she has been doing this so long, that couth does not come into play. Take a seat Mom. Deli food is salty and makes you thirsty. It is just a fact, right? Fried Sauerkraut Balls are gonna fall right in line with that thought. Every salty ingredient is justification for a dry mouth. Can I get a water refill? My server was too busy so the Hostess (Owner) standing next to our table.. I asked Her... what did she do? YELL across the room for my Server to get me water? She was doing absolutely nothing! When he handed her my water, she did not even put it down on the table, but handed to my hand. Incredible. My Zucchini sticks were nice and crunchy on the outside, not too greasy, but the Zuch itself was slimy and over ripe. Eeks, those sat on the table. My friend had the Corned Beef and Cabbage lunch and yes the meat was piled high, but not enough fat too be flavorful. Just sliced meat. The 1/2 a head of cabbage was way overcooked and the carrots and potatoes were soft enough to feed to someone with no teeth. Hey, I am just telling the truth. I remember why I don't frequent this place.

Neighborhood staple and gem. So yummy and very kind and sweet service! It is great for kids and such reasonable prices and big portions. Best reubens ever especially with the turkey brisket. I loved it and the portion was amazing I had it for lunch and dinner. Great pickles, too. Best peanut butter cookies, perfectly peanut taste, chewy, sweet, and salty. And very big!!

Great deli! Had a delicious hot pastrami sandwich and brought half of it home, as I also tried the kreplach soup. After eating, bought some potato pancakes to bring home. Those were really good just warmed in a pan. Super filling, super yummy deli food! Will be back if I'm on that side of town again!

They were some nice young men's that helped me out. I got my corned beef brisket and kartoffel. And rye toast so thick yet! I have taken a Kodak moment and posted it to here. So delicious! But no pickled herring! Why no pickled herring? I love some herring on rye with shmaltz and a little thin onion yet. But all in all, so nice! Reminds me of my babka!

The food was awesome but if your not Jewish don't go! I was asked by the owners if my teenage grandsons were Jewish. They went to seat themselves because they weren't busy, and didn't know to wait. The boys were very respectful, where the grown up elderly owner was not! They were asked right out if they were Jewish and answered yes on their mothers side. The owner responded I could tell. I didn't want to cause a scene so I stayed. But I'd never go back again!!
