"Yes, the flowers are the main event, but honestly, half the pleasure of visiting Hyde Park's Cornell Florist is the store itself. In the same location since 1939, the latest owners, Lindsay Levita and Steven Lucy, have retained all of the original features of the space, including the antique cash register. Known for their earthy, natural-looking arrangements of foliage and seasonal blooms, Levita and Lucy benefit from a Rolodex of regulars stretching back three decades. Nothing fazes these two, and both are especially skilled at walking through a venue and easily dreaming up an original vision—a godsend to indecisive couples. And should this be on your wish list: Cornell Florist also makes especially beautiful flower crowns. "

I had the best experience with Cornell Florist! The staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make sure the flowers were delivered to my friend. They were knowledgable and made suggestions based on what I was looking for. The arrangement they created was so beautiful! I'm blow away by the uniqueness. My friend was absolutely thrilled with it and I will definitely be back for all my future flower needs. Highly recommend supporting this small shop!

I came inside looking for a bouquet for my sister and a small little bouquet wrapped in brown paper was $45. It had about 6 stems. This shop seems way over priced since the stems they offer are also pretty common flowers with a small selection in comparison to other shops. The girls inside were very helpful and friendly, but in the end I ended up just going to Trader Joe’s to make my own bouquet. I got about 40 stems for $50 and just put together the bouquet myself and wrapped it in a Trader Joe’s bag. It had sunflowers, white spray roses, eucalyptus, etc. it wasn’t the ideal situation but it worked. I’d recommend this store to maybe increase the amount of stems in the bouquets, lower the prices, or improve the presentation to help justify the prices since I see a few people have made similar comments here. Thanks!

The easiest part of planning my wedding was trusting Lindsay at Cornell Florists with our flowers. I wanted an autumnal palette with drama and native flowers and she did an amazing job. Her flowers elevated our venue (promontory point) from a field house into a beautiful wedding hall. She nailed the vision perfectly. We had historically bad weather on our wedding day, but the flowers were perfect. Highly recommend working with her for your next occasion.

I learned about this shop when I was seeking a condolence bouquet. On its website, I saw signs of creativity and whimsy (and gorgeousness).  And what they designed and delivered was perfect for remembering my friends' loved one. It even included beautiful elements that appear rarely in bouquets.

I have gone into Cornell Florists on a number of occasions and always have the best experience. The shop itself is stunning! The original refrigerator is especially cool. The staff has always been so kind and helpful, and every arrangement I've received has been more beautiful, unique, and long lasting than the last.

This place sold my boyfriend an almost dead arrangement two days ago. The roses are bloomed beautifully. Everything else is dead because they were almost dead when he bought them home. You knew that when you sold them to him and he should’ve noticed as well. So basically paid $50 for 3 roses.

I am so grateful to have connected with Lindsay at Cornell Florist. We honestly couldn't have been happier with the beautiful, local wildflowers she sourced for our summer solstice wedding this June. From the very start Lindsay was super receptive to our vision and invited me down to their shop for a meeting to discuss ideas and inspiration. She did a great job analyzing my inspiration photos and got to the heart of the loose, effortless, and wild look we were going for. She made sure not to over-promise, in terms of specific flowers that might not be in bloom, but ensured great confidence with her knowledge and attention to detail. Unlike a few other floral shops we reached out to, Lindsay was totally open to us using our own glassware (a collection of vintage bottles and jars) at the reception and even constructed detailed floral recipes so we could build our arrangements the day before with the wedding party. It was also really important to me that my bouquet consisted of mainly local native prairie plants. Not your average request, but Lindsay went with it and helped me to feel like we were truly in good hands. Every detail Lindsay included exceeded my hopes and imaginings x 1000! It's rare to find such a caring, generous, and truly creative spirit, but in Lindsay at Cornell Florist- you've found it! We discovered the perfect match for our wedding day florals! Thank you thank you thank you for your consistently amazing work, Lindsay!

Google
I hired Cornell Florist to provide the arrangements, bouquets/boutonnieres, and flower crown for my wedding. I cannot praise Lindsay enough for all that she did to make my flower dreams come true. Not only is she incredibly responsive via email, but she was super accommodating to all my little tweaks and changes. Every single one of her arrangements; from my flower crown, to the bouquets, to the table arrangements was constructed with love and care. The table arrangements were so lush that my mother and mother-in-law could not stop raving about them. Lindsey really made my whimsical wedding vision a reality.

Yelp
Small, local store that has exceptionally beautiful and often very unusual flowers and plants for sale. I'm often here to pick a bloom or two for the week, and always want to get more. I've seen flowers you'd never find anywhere else, like bluebells -- who has bluebells, anywhere? -- that they source from individual people, for instance. I can't remember any of the names ("rose" is the depth of my knowledge), but they're all lovely, and definitely more unique than anything you'd find in a store like Whole Foods. They're also lovely people who will let you take your time over choosing a single bloom (I'm picky!). I've seen the arrangements they send out for special occasions, and they're spectacular; will definitely use them as and when I can for the same. I don't think local stores need any more support than bigger ones, but in this case the size and scale does seem to make a difference because of how unique the wares are and the attention given to customers. Do support them.

Yelp
Lindsay made a bouquet, a boutonniere, and cake flowers for our wedding, and they were so beautiful! I recommend this place to anyone.

Yelp
I wanted to order flowers for my wedding and assemble them together with my bridesmaids to be kind to our budget and because I've done this with some other friends for their weddings and think it's so fun! I contacted Lindsay at Cornell Florist because I wanted to work with a small business in my neighborhood if possible. I'm so glad that I did! I sent Lindsay some examples of what I wanted and we went back and forth to get the flowers right. The flowers were absolutely beautiful! They were grouped by bouquets/table settings/boutonnières/etc. and Lindsay gave me a sheet instructing what flower types went with what setting. The were beautiful, fresh, and smelled amazing. I had so much fun making the bouquets and table settings with my bridesmaids and loved that the flower arrangements and everything were something we created ourselves. She was even able to get us prairie grasses for our desired urban prairie feel! I highly recommend working with Lindsay for your wedding!

Yelp
I've only had one wedding so far, but if I have another I will definitely get the flower arrangements from Cornell again. Lindsay was so kind and responsive when I first contacted the store. When we met in person to talk about our aesthetic, she took extensive notes on everything that me and my wife threw at her and she was able to distill all of our abstract thoughts into exactly what we imagined. We couldn't have been more blown away by the result.

Yelp
Lovely shop without all the plastic that usually pervades flower shops. She usually has unique houseplants for sale too and I can hardly stop myself from grabbing one when I visit. Stop in the store when you have a chance to see for yourself!

Yelp
I reached out to Lindsay again to order a cascade bouquet in vivid colors and it turned out beautifully. She also said that the extra $3 charged for the corsage was a mistake and one-time order corsage is indeed $25. So she applied the $3 to my bouquet order. I appreciate her clarifying the situation and taking the $3 off my bouquet. I used the bouquet for a photo shoot and am excited to see how it looks in the photos!

Yelp
I ordered a graduation bouquet and when I picked it up the flowers appeared waning. I brought the bouquet back 20 minutes later and a sweetpea and a rose were replaced. The florist assured me that everything was fresh. The flowers have been in a vase of water and eight hours later, the lilac flowers and leaves are completely collapsed and all of the sweet peas have shrivelled up. When I present the bouquet tomorrow at the U Chicago graduation, I will have to snip off all of the dead lilacs and sweetpeas.

Yelp
Cornell Florist did the flowers for my wedding, and I couldn't have been more pleased. I found Cornell online when I saw a local event they had styled. The photos on their website and Instagram were beautiful, and the arrangements were the exact style I was looking for - they have a very wild and organic look to them - they don't look like cookie cutter floral arrangements. I also had priced out some other florists in the city, and I felt like Cornell was competitively priced for the area. They have a cute little shop in Hyde Park, and the girls that run it are so helpful and friendly. I worked with Lindsay from start to finish. She was very patient with me (and all of my changes to to the plan) over the month's leading up to the wedding. She really understood the look I was going for, and executed it perfectly. She went above and beyond. I thought delivery was just going to be a drop off / pick up - but not only did Lindsay deliver and install everything for the initial set up, she even returned for the room flip to make sure all the dinner tables looked perfect, and then came back again for tear down. She even hauled away all the table arrangements at the end of the night to donate them, we didn't have to worry about clean up at all. We received so many compliments on the flowers that day. They really made the venue come to life. I would highly recommend working with Cornell for your event.

Yelp
We worked with Cornell (and specifically Lindsay) for our recent July wedding. We knew of them through a friend and we're also looking to use a Hyde Park small business, as the groom's family has roots in that part of the city. We were delighted with the arrangements and couldn't have asked for a more lovely wedding day. Our venue did not have much to designate a front area, and Cornell designed and installed a greenery asymmetric arch on the wall that was perfect for the ceremony. We kept the flowers pretty minimal - just a couple bouquets, boutonnieres, greenery for the dinner tables, and some small bud vases. All was beautiful and organic and fit our wedding vibe perfectly. Would recommend Cornell - both as an every day florist and for special events like weddings! Easy to work with and competitively priced. And their shop is adorable if you're strolling by!

Yelp
Love this little shop! Got the most beautiful arrangement for my mothers birthday. Customer service was great and the arrangement was stunning. I live in Logan Square and drove to Hyde Park just to check it out. Definitely worth the drive.

Yelp
My fiancé who resides out of town wanted to send a flower arrangement to my favorite aunts funeral. He contacted this florist that was near the church and requested a nice arrangement and explained it was for a funeral. The arrangement that was sent was basically a centerpiece. I understand now they specialize in weddings which explains what was sent out. My fiancé felt because he called from out of town they beat him. I agree. Being a Hyde Park resident I called them highly upset and the manager could care less.

Yelp
This is a beautiful gem. The style is impeccable inside the shop, which directly reflects the head florists aesthetic. Excellent taste in flowers, plants, and cash registers. A neighborhood feel is nailed by regulars popping in coupled with the antique flower case. Flowers are a vocation at Cornell.

Yelp
I ordered a floral crown for my wedding (during Lollapalooza weekend- so they prob got a ton of orders) and also got a matching bouquet. They were simple and elegant and went so well with my traditional Korean hanbok dress. I received so many compliments around the city.

Yelp
Wonderful selections by Cornell Florist!! I recently had Cornell Florist prepare all of the arrangements for a wedding shower in March. The arrangements were for multiple spots around my condo. I showed the florist the invitation for the shower as we were sticking to the bride's flower selection on the invitation. The arrangements were artfully done, and I received a lot of compliments. And at the end of the shower I sent all of the flowers home with the bride's mother for another party she was having. Everyone was thrilled!!!

Yelp
I went a couple of years ago, new in town, to get a bouquet for a friend, and they did an absolutely gorgeous job with it -- above and beyond any expectations (I was just expecting maybe a bunch of tulips in a vase and ended up with a gorgeous arrangement!). So, when I got married a couple of weeks ago in a very small wedding at the Point, I knew where to go. They worked with my budget and created an absolutely gorgeous (and long-lasting!) bouquet; the corsages (2) and boutonnieres (3) were beautiful, and I bought a bunch of extra flowers to put in vases for our tables at Pizza Capri. Our grand total was $162 -- absolutely within budget, and I was so incredibly impressed. I am recommending Cornell Florist to everyone I know!

Today was my maternity photo shoot and I wanted to look, in one word whimsical. Thanks to Cornell Florist I nailed the look perfectly!!! Support local business.

Yelp
Great selection of flowers. I got some amazing orchids from here. Definitely worth paying a visit. It used to be my default flower shop when living in Hyde Park.

Yelp
They have the best store front in Hyde Park! They have really well done arrangements, and even some nice plants, though their plant prices are a little too high for me to be a regular. However, with them you know you're getting good quality! They also need to get an online ordering system!
google avatar

Yelp
When we first were looking for florists to use for our wedding we checked out a few and this place even though it will not blow you away upon entering the shop, is amazing. It is very affordable and that is not code for poor quality. This place does an amazing job and we would highly recommend it to anyone. My wife actually called the florist the day of the wedding to thank him for the quality and beauty of the arrangements!

Yelp
I've been here several times and I've run into the same issues each time. The people working there seem to have no idea what plants they're selling, suggest "googling" their anonymous plants to figure out their toxicity to pets, and always seem indifferent to me and my money. My most recent experience was during their annual plant sale and though I woke up early specifically to partake I walked out of that experience extremely disappointed. I love plants and love spending money on them, but not if the people ruin the whole transaction.
google avatar

Jahmae H.

Yelp
It looks great as the plants are potted not in terra cotta planters anymore. Affordable, the florist charges a reasonable price for repotting plants.

Yelp
Lindsay and the team at Cornell Florist hit it out of the park for our November wedding. I first saw their work at Indie Wed in Ravenswood and fell in love with their organic style. Lindsay was extremely easy to work with and met with me early in the process to talk through how to achieve what I wanted with the flowers available in November. She worked with me to make small revisions to our order leading up to the day, and was really flexible with a few minute requests. The flowers themselves were beautiful and captured the more unique/organic/gathered look I wanted, and overall styling of the event (with centerpieces, aisle decor, etc.) was perfect. Pricing was extremely fair as well, I'd recommend Cornell in a heartbeat!

Yelp
My husband and I could not have been more pleased with our wedding florals from Cornell Florist. Our guests raved about the beautiful florals. Cornell created the wedding bouquet of my dreams. My sister, my nieces, and I all wore beautiful flower crowns. Cornell was wonderful to work with. They were professional, responsive and heard the vision I had for my wedding perfectly. I highly recommend this lovely shop!

Elizabeth L.

Yelp
I share the same experience with one the posted reviews. Amanda was very impatient and rude when I called to inquire about an arrangement to be sent to someone recovering from surgery. Being from out of state I'm looking for some guidance as though I put effort into my gift. Again Amanda was thoughtless and she vocalized an indifference over the phone. I had to inform the manager if this is what's representing her store. Instead I used Christine Noelle Design on Oak St. They were extremely good and accommodating. They even sent me pics of the completed arrangement.
google avatar

Rebecca U.

Yelp
Cornell florist did our weddings. We were crazy and had two weddings that we needed floral for. Lindsay and her team were professional, creative, and just plain amazing. I'm really picky, and I felt like Lindsay knew exactly what I wanted. They even sent a really helpful survey to hone in on the exact style we wanted. I couldn't recommend Lindsay more. It was really a perfect experience!

Hannah D.

Yelp
AMAZING. Lindsay mentioned she would do a little something to decorate our arch for our ceremony but holy cow was I blown away!!! It was breath taking. The florals were PERFECT. I knew Lindsay/Cornell would do a great job with my little knowledge of flowers but I was insanely blown away with what they did. I wish these florals would stay alive forever I love them so much and can't wait to get my professional photos of them to show off to those who were not there.

Yelp
First and foremost Cornell florist was a complete rip off. I went to This particular florist shop because first, I wanted to support the local community, also I generally find the florist have a better selection and know more about floral arrangements, especially because it was Mother's Day weekend. I arrived only to be greeted at the door, because of "Covid" So I couldn't come in and see the selection at all, I asked if they had any prearranged arrangements, and I was told the different tiers of pricing. I selected the medium tier which was $75, only to be handed the spring mix which was a bunch of wilted flowers in wax paper. The transaction was so fast I was unable to look at what I was getting, also the flowers didn't come in water or a vase that was nine dollars extra, not only did I have to cut and prepare the flowers I had to buy the extra vase for an additional dollars. At that price point everything should be done for you, and you should be getting fresh flowers, do yourself a favor, for a lot less you could go to Marianos or Whole Foods and get a much better arrangement and much better service with flowers that have a vase included which I did. I went to Whole Foods and got an entirely different arrangement because the flowers worst of such poor quality. Cornell Florez must do better as a business if they want to survive.

Yelp
Cornell Florist has a unique and gorgeous style and we could not have been more excited about the flowers for our little wedding. They created two gorgeous arrangements in large antiqued urns that were organic, overflowing, and stunning. The flowers are locally sourced, and seasonal which really meant a lot to us when decided on arrangements and flowers. They also made an amazing floral crown for me to wear during our day that was the talk of the party. Everyone raved about the arrangements, and it was truly perfect. The shop itself is breathtaking and I personally hope it never changes! In the center of the artistic storefront, the original floral refrigerator still stands. The shop is beautiful and reminds me of a floral shop in Paris. The ceramics, simple jewelry, and homegoods are thoughtful and beautiful. Bravo Cornell Florist, you create magic!
google avatar

Reena L.

Yelp
The flowers are arranged very nicely but the girl working there has a horrible attitude. No advice given. Questions are answered in a yes/no fashion. Your intention to buy seems to be a big interruption and annoyance to her. Will not go back. The experience sucks.

Jessie B.

Yelp
My husband and I used Cornell Florist for our wedding on 9/26/15. We ordered a bouquet, boutineer, simple flower arrangements for the reception tables and place settings to be paired with the name cards. I do not know anything about flowers and changed my mind several times throughout the process. Amanda was patient, kind and receptive to my feedback. She was an absolute joy to work with. I trusted her to put together an arrangement, tables settings and everything was absolutely beautiful. When I walked into the reception I was blown away and so pleased with her work. Her style is very similar to the website pictures - not too contrived, gardeny, organic, elegant, natural. Highly, highly recommend Amanda and Cornell Florist. Their shop is incredible too!

Mark S.

Yelp
Lindsay did an amazing job with the flowers for our wedding. She took an image that was in my mind eye and translated it into a vision of beauty and elegance..truly helped make the night special!!!

Amera R.

Yelp
This place was terrible! First of all, it smelled like cat pee in here, but there was no cat in sight! I went here to get the flower for my prom date. And with all the flowers in the store this lady brings me this little vase of dead flowers and these where the only ones I got to choose from! They where small and shriveled!! And it was extremely over priced uggghhhhh. During prom the flowers where falling apart I felt terrible for giving that to my boyfriend! I hate this place, I could've just gone to jewel

Yelp
Lindsay Levita is a real artist, and we recommend her talents to everyone! This is not a generic florist -- this company has real talent for composition, and passion for flowers, greens, grasses, and more! We used Lindsay & Cornell Florist for our wedding flowers, and we had a fantastic experience from start to finish. Lindsay was professional and clearly loves her work. Her care and passion was clear in the arrangements. In multiple meetings, she built off of our own tastes, and added her own brilliant artistry to create the perfect mood for our tables. She expanded our flower knowledge by recommending different species, based on our tastes, and within the season and our budget. TRUST HER AS AN ARTIST! She has a real talent for working with not just flowers, but other greens and grasses as well. Her compositions are creative, and so tasteful. On top of this, she worked with us on prices again and again, reevaluating our choices so that we got everything we wanted, and all within our price range. She is a very caring business owner, and very responsive, with upfront contracts, and clear communication. She had great recommendations for vessel vendors, and helped us locate the collection of vases for our design. Our arrangements had a fresh and organic style - Lindsey definitely excels at asymmetry and natural compositions (you should see the beautiful decorations in her home!), but I know she works in a variety of styles, with a lot of experience in traditional wedding flowers. We had wreaths, bouquets, flower crowns, cake flowers, and a variety of different table arrangements for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. She nailed everything, and was extremely efficient in setting up and taking down. We loved our flowers so much that we saved as many as possible, dried them, and hung them in our home. We are still enjoying them today! Thanks so much Lindsay! We couldn't be happier with your business!

Yelp
A little pricey and the service was exceptionally slow the day I stopped in--friendly--but very slow. The place could use a kick in the pants -- the interior is charming but extremely sparse both with merchandise and fresh flowers. Or perhaps artfully spare? The business savvy fairy hasn't paid this place a call in the past 10ish years. I suspect it's either some kind of money laundering business trying to look 'legit' or just the most self-destructive small business.

Yelp
Looked up a florist in Hyde Park and this one was highly recommended. Great experience!!! I stopped in to get a sympathy bouquet. I don't know much about flowers but it looked great!! It was individually made because they don't have pre made arraignments. The young lady was pleasant, knowledgeable and only took 10minutes to make a mode size bouquet . Nice decor as well!!

Yelp
Cornell Florist did the flowers for our wedding this past weekend and they were incredible. I trust Amanda's taste completely and probably would have been happy with anything she put together, but she was the perfect person to listen to my long story about my family's relationship with flowers and carefully accommodate my desire to see some pretty specific types of blooms included. I showed her photographs of my grandparents and great-grandparents and their garden, and not only was Amanda receptive she was very enthusiastic, right down to re-creating a bouquet captured in a seventy-year-old Kodachrome slide to be my wedding bouquet. Amanda and her team were knowledgeable about what should be in season and what we would be able to work with, and when Chicago ended up having a bit of a severe spring, they deftly made some adjustments to the planned arrangements (while keeping the most important flowers even when it meant importing them). Everything was wonderful--beautiful and inviting but also a faithful reminder of home and family for me and for my relatives who picked up on the references.

Katy H.

Yelp
This place produces some really gorgeous arrangements. I don't know of quality arrangements elsewhere in Hyde Park and the young folks there recently have been really helpful and accommodating to me. They are very willing to make specific arrangements with enough advanced notice, but a simple three flower arrangement they made most recently was my favorite so far. They made it in a real pinch! Skip the plastic wrapped wilty bouquet at the grocery store. Cornell Florist is definitely the place I go for flowers in Hyde Park.

Linda L.

Yelp
Ordered my daughter's birthday flowers here- (she is a student at nearby university) They delivered the gorgeous peony bouquet right to her dorm building.... HIGHLY recommend this wonderful florist. I ordered via phone call from NY- the lady was delightful to deal with when ordering. A++++ addendum: "Just saw the peony bouquet - it is magnificent!!!!"( husband asked that I add his opinion!)

F R.

Yelp
I do not live in Chicago but wanted a unique, distinctive arrangement, not something canned from teleflora, so I ordered from Cornell based on these reviews and photos on their site. I hesitated only because some of the arrangements looked a bit spindly and overgrown but had a discussion when I placed the order and ultimately told them to do what they do best. The recipient told me they looked "funereal" and that some of the flowers were old, and that they thought I should get my money back. Hardly an enthusiastic response when you are trying to send flowers to congratulate someone. I haven't seen them, so I can't judge, I am just going by what was reported to me. I subsequently learned that the shop changed owners in the last year so perhaps that accounts for it, I don't know. In any case, I called the shop to report what I heard from the recipient--and ultimately it is the recipient that needs to be happy, not the sender--and we agreed to disagree as they stood behind what they sent. I think I am representing what happened fairly and accurately based on what was reported to me--because again, I haven't seen the flowers--but needless to say I am very disappointed.

Yelp
Cornell Florist was wonderful to work with as we planned our wedding. We went in with only a vague idea of what we wanted, and with Lindsay's thoughtful ideas and guidance we ended up with arrangements that evoked our style perfectly. The communication was great - it was super easy to tweak things or send over new thoughts as they came to us throughout the planning process. Working with Lindsay meant bringing our descriptions of the look we wanted to life and then enhancing them with great suggestions. The end result was wonderful and really added to the beauty of our day. Working with wedding vendors can sometimes be a challenge and it was so refreshing to work with a smart, down-to-earth person who clearly brought a lot of style and care to the whole process.

Yelp
Cornell Florist is exceptional. They make beautiful arragnements at great prices and have a very professional and attentive staff. I often show up with odd requests - IE needs to be super creative, can't recognize any of the flowers, or this big with very young flowers so it lasts a long time, etc. Each each time, my wife is totally blown away with the resulting flowers. I cannot recommend a florist more than this one.

Yelp
This flower shop is tucked away on 55th, the pickings are slim for flower options in Hyde Park. The flowers at the co-op don't look as healthy and fresh as the ones at Cornell Florist. The man working helped me make a beautiful bouquet for the amount I wanted to spend. No pushiness, no attitude, just straight up smiles from this florist.

Jerry C.

Yelp
I could not be happier, but more importantly, my girlfriend could not be happier. The arrangement of roses Cornell assembled and delivered was beautiful, fresh, and very large. FORGET FTD.COM!!! I don't remember when I stopped using neighborhood florists and went over to FTD.com, but the last couple of times I used ftd.com, I was a bit disappointed by the small size and lack of freshness in the bouquets. They were cute, but not vibrant. And FTD totally nickles and dimes you. Cornell tells you the price and doesn't play games. Also, I remember one year there was a storm before Valentine's Day, and so the FTD flowers came on the 15th. I think UPS delvers for FTD... nothing against UPS. For just a few dollars more, than FTD.COM, maybe 10-15%, we got twice the flowers and twice the freshness. Sure, you're buying local too, but in this case buying local is not just about warm fuzzies, but getting a superior product, and service. The roses also lasted better too, in fact they're looking pretty good a week later. Oh, and everyone at my GF's office was impressed too.

Yelp
Had to write a review after the flowers my husband ordered for me for Valentines Day arrived this evening! He was mortified to give them to me they were so poorly done! He was home sick the past two days recovering from surgery and couldn't go out to pick them himself. He ended up paying $100 (including delivery, which is only approx 7 mins from the florist) for 7 roses (none of which were special/long stem and really it was 6 since one was cut so short it looked ridiculous in the vase) a few red and white small flowers and a BUNCH of green filler. Unfortunately, he didn't know I used them a short time ago for a TROPICAL themed party we hosted at our house, where I received 6 arrangements with white roses, daffodils, and the favorite GREEN FILLER!!!!! Two of the small arrangements had one tropical flower each! It was so bad even my guests made comments on how off theme they were. Embarrassing! Please do not use these folks...you could do better yourself getting flowers from whole foods and arranging them yourself for a LOT cheaper! And if you wondering, I didn't write a review before because I knew I would NEVER use them again but had too when I saw my husbands face when he was giving them to me!

Yelp
I love Cornell Florist! I'm generally a bit intimidated by shopping for flowers because I'm quite ignorant of all things botanical - but the wonderful woman behind the counter gave me a great deal of help. She was patient with me and together we designed something beautiful that didn't break the bank.

Yelp
The owner of Open Produce was patient and that business succeeded. The opportunity arose to take over Cornell Florist. With their business philosophies I'm sure another success is in store for them! It's wonderful when the "little guy" succeeds. This florist badly needed a facelift. The store is inviting you in from the sidewalk now. No more dank storefront. Its light, bright, offering beautiful flowers and plants. The friendly and helpful individuals are a bonus. Same as Open Produce...I could go on and on with nothing but positive thing to say about this store.

Yelp
I recently worked with these folks to send my daughter a birthday present. I didn't like the idea of FTD's $$ delivery charges and substitution policies - so I found Cornell of the web. They did an excellent job guiding me through a long-distance decision making process - and moreover, their creative choices and artistic design were spot on.

Yelp
We used Cornell Florist for our wedding and could not have been happier. We had a lot of trouble envisioning what would look good for our venue, but Amanda walked us through all the details we needed to think about. The staff at Cornell was very attentive to our wishes but also had several creative suggestions about how to make the most of seasonal foliage. The flowers came out beautiful, we could not have been happier with them. We also appreciate that these guys gave us several options so we could tailor our package to our budget without skimping on the important stuff.
