Cornelly - Review - Queen Anne - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Speaking of Queen Anne, the neighborhood's getting a second outpost of this popular pizzeria. Their fabulous pies and pastas draw long lines on Capitol Hill, and they’ll now have a location that’s three times bigger. That’ll give them enough space for a full bar, more entrees, and added brunch service. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Gabe Guarente

As long time fans of Cornelly Capitol Hill, checking out the newer, larger restaurant in Queen Anne had been on our to-do list for awhile. What a relief that they offer reservations here, removing the waiting games we’re familiar with at the smaller, original location. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and the service was incredible. Noah treated us so well and made excellent recommendations. Happy to report the pizza is just as good as the original location, and the Caesar salad was even better than I remembered. The Gemelli bolognese was cooked to the perfect texture, and the mint was a nice change. Highly recommend for a special celebration where you want great food at a fair price, and no pretension. We can’t wait to come back. Thank you Noah!

I came to leave a review of my own experience here (which was good) but removing one star after seeing the owner's response to another customer's review by speaking poorly about another pizza place also located on QA Ave. I don't think the right way to address a customer's concern is by comparing your food and prices to another nearby business and criticizing the way they do things. There are several pizza places on QA Ave, there is no need to tear down another business because you received one less-than-stellar review. I sure hope this is not how Cornelly plans to integrate into our community. As far as my own experience goes, food and service was solid. We ordered the Tagliatelle, the Fun Guys Only pizza, and the Hamachi Crudo. The pizza crust was nice and crispy, and the mushrooms were delicious. The restaurant is warm and inviting, and I appreciate the large bathrooms which we were able to do a diaper change for our baby in. I'm glad we were able to give this place a try.

A Queen Anne Gem with Unforgettable Pizza! Cornelly is an absolute must-visit for anyone in Seattle looking for exceptional pizza. Tucked away in Queen Anne, this spot delivers an experience that is both cozy and incredibly delicious. From the moment you walk in, the warm and inviting atmosphere makes you feel right at home, setting the stage for a fantastic meal. While the entire menu looked appealing, the pizza is unequivocally the star of the show. We ordered a pie and it was simply amazing. The sourdough crust was a masterpiece of texture and flavor—perfectly chewy with a delightful tangy finish and a beautiful char from the oven. It provided the ideal foundation for the high-quality toppings, which were fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. Each bite was better than the last, showcasing a clear passion for the craft of pizza making. The service was friendly and attentive, adding to the overall positive experience. Cornelly isn't just serving good food; they're creating a wonderful dining environment. It has instantly become my go-to recommendation for anyone craving truly top-tier pizza. If you're looking for a meal that will leave you smiling and planning your next visit before you've even left, this is the place. Highly recommended!

I was excited to try Cornelley but was so disappointed. We tried on a Friday but the quoted wait time was 90 mins, so we went back on Saturday and lined up 15 mins before opening. There were already about 20 people in line. They got everyone seated quickly and we got our order in right away. The restaurant was unbearably loud - music blasting at an absolutely ridiculous volume - you can't hear anyone next to you, etc. They send dishes whenever they are done so everyone has to be ready for chaos and family style dining. Our salad came out quickly but wasn't well done - it was full of grit and hadn't been properly washed or drained, so it was very wet, gritty and the dressing was watered down. Disappointing. We ordered two pizzas and a pasta. The first pizza came out quickly and was just barely cooked with no color on the crust. The pizza delivered to the next table was burnt- they are very inconsistent. About 20 minutes later our second pizza came out (fun guy) a lot more cooked. Both needed more sauce, and the mushrooms could use some salt or oil. The pasta didn't show up until after about an hour. The server asked if we wanted dessert, and we reminded them about the pasta which she had forgotten and had never checked on us. The pasta was tasty - I just wish it had come out while we were still eating. We ended up taking it home with us. In all, very disappointing. The food was like 3-4 out of 5, but the noise/music volume was excruciating, so we won't likely hurry back anytime soon.

Google
Even though they don’t serve the classic Caesar salad and the menu is on the smaller side, everything they do offer is fresh and well-prepared. The salad I tried was light and refreshing—perfectly balanced. The pizza was delicious and satisfying, with great flavor and a nice crust. Sometimes a focused menu means every item shines, and that’s definitely the case here.

Google
Surprisingly not good food. I was amazed with Capitol Hill location pizza a couple years ago, but due to parking issues I rarely visited. I was so happy to discover Queen Anne location with 2 parking lots near by. Pizza that we ordered had exceptionally dry crust (I even hurt my hard palate). Ginger lemonade was too gingery 😑 I barely made 4 sips my throat was burning. This was end of our dinner (photo), as you can see we only finished our salad out of things we ordered (drink, pizza, salad, pasta)

We visited Cornelly’s new Queen Anne location. Unfortunately, the scallops were over-charred and bitter. When I raised this, our server was very helpful and offered to remove the dish from our bill, but the chef insisted that this was “how it’s supposed to be.” This was especially disappointing since other recent reviews show the scallops prepared much more lightly and appealingly (see screenshot of a review posted a month ago). A good server experience, but the chef’s response left us feeling dismissed. The dining experience can be made more family friendly: there are high chairs but no booster seats; no kid craft/menu to engage little ones so it was difficult when it took 15min to even place an order - we had to take our kids out for a walk. Background music was very loud and its acoustically hard to have a conversation.

Google
I love Cornelly <3 the secret is you have to get there at 4:45 and just be one of the first tables. Service is quick and the restaurant interior is very calming and romantic, I really love the signature blue. Pizza dough is stretchy and tender, pasta has bite and holds to sauce nice, tiramisu with the cocoa nibs and salt instead of cocoa powder is such a hit. If the owner is reading this I am begging you to have warm chocolate chip cookies w/ ice cream on the dine in menu again. A Cornelly Pizzookie would go so hard.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday night, restaurant was busy but we were able to get seated in 30 mins. Food was absolutely delicious and server was attentive and checked in when needed. We ordered the gem lettuce salad, spaghetti and flying saucer pizza. Salad was seasoned perfectly and the pizza was AMAZING. The spaghetti first came out too salty. Our server graciously accepted the feedback and offered a re-fire (which was delicious and the pasta was cooked to perfection). Really appreciated that the owner made it a point to come and thank us for speaking up about the pasta being too salty because this is how you should be running a business! Will definitely be back!!

Yelp
The biggest difference between this Cornelly location and the one in Capitol Hill is how spacious the restaurant is. I am so glad it is not as cramped as the other restaurant. The menu here is also different. They have more pastas and cocktails here, along with different appetizers and pizzas. I liked that they had more and different options of food to choose from. I wish they had the Hornet Honey pizza (Cornelly's best pizza in my opinion!) but you honestly can't go wrong with anything on their menu. Everything is perfectly cooked and seasoned, and very delicious. I am a big fan of the pizza. I did go to this location on a weekday, so the food was brought out to us fairly quickly. The server was also very kind.

Yelp
I was a fan of this place on cap hill and I'm happy to see it open in Queen Anne. The neighborhood is clearly desperate for something new and fresh as we waited 80mins for a table. (They do not take reservations) The drinks were great - martinis. The service was quick and efficient but not overly fussy. We all agreed the food was good but not exactly perfect, would have liked more flavor on a few items in the form of acid or salt. Overall glad to have this in the area and will return.

Yelp
Let's start with the positive: The food is genuinely delicious. But it's not worth it because the service is terrible. Our waitress made us feel like we were bothering her while asking questions about the menu. But really it was just the pretentious nature of it all. This place is replacing a longstanding community diner. This is not community. Not a place you go if you live in the neighborhood and want a tasty meal with your family. This is something else. This is a place where a starter salad is $16, a small pepperoni pizza is $26, and there are no refills. Our five year old daughter loves a creamy pasta, to which they said no, "Cream sauce is only served with gnocchi". We asked if we could have that sauce with another noodle, and she said, "We don't allow guests to compromise the chefs integrity". Oh sorry for asking, we wouldn't want to upset the chef! We asked for another lemonade, she came back after the meal was almost done and said, "I can bring it to you but it won't be free." That's fine, but we were already done and ready to leave by the time she brought it. We ended up only ordering a few things because we didn't feel the vibe. We also had to ask three different people to bring us a high chair, which only arrived half way through the meal. Also, words for the young hostess: if you see a person with a baby in a baby carrier, don't sit them in a tiny booth that requires them to wake the baby up because they don't fit in the booth. Be mindful. Maybe hospitality is dead.

Yelp
What a cute spot!! It was a decent size where it was a cozy and intimate ambiance, yet large enough to not feel suffocating. Good service, no complaints! The classic pep pizza was AMAZING!!! And such a tasty casesar salad mmmmm! Our cocktails were also tasty, I loved the Negroni! More Campari- leaning so beware if that's not your palette. Loved my first time here!

Yelp
There are two Cornelly locations but I chose this one since it seemed like parking would be easier. Sure enough, I was able to easily find street parking about 2 blocks away. I saw reviews about long lines so I arrived about 10 minutes before opening and I was the first one in line. The restaurant itself is very inviting and clean. I like the choice of blue for the walls, which complements the white chairs and the wooden tables. However I did think the music was a bit too loud. I started off by ordering the spaghetti (cherry tomato sauce, basil, parm, stracciatella). It was so tasty and perfectly al dente. I also ordered the "fun guys only" pizza (seasonal mushrooms, fontina cream, confit garlic, fresh mozzarella). I thought the mushrooms were tasty but the crust was a little too chewy for my preference. I was pleasantly surprised to see how quickly the food was brought to my table. I started eating around 15 minutes after ordering. I am a fast eater so I was pretty much finished with my food in another 15 minutes. Soon after, the waiter asked if I wanted a box for the leftover pizza. I particularly didn't mind, but I could see how some might have felt a little rushed. I boxed up the pizza and asked for the menu again since I still wanted to order dessert. I chose the seasonal fruit tart with house vanilla ice cream. The tart had a nice crust, but it was a bit too sweet in my opinion. The ice cream was good. Overall, I recommend the pasta and coming in earlier in the evening to avoid long lines.

Yelp
Great service. Our waitress was very informative and the way she described the food made me want to order everything. No wait on a Sunday evening... we were seated immediately, but the place was pretty busy. I was happy with everything we ordered and plan to return. This place was actually better than expected. We had the gem lettuce salad, focaccia, perfectly al dente spaghetti, and the summer sweetie (corn) pizza. My only annoyance is that my non-alcoholic beverage was from a can. Had I known this I wouldn't have ordered it. I was expecting them to make it fresh like other restaurants since they have a full bar. Turns out it was a brand called Figlia, it was bitter with little to no sugar... wasn't great. Otherwise we had a great experience and plan to return in the future.

Yelp
This place has a very long line and is very busy! They do not take reservations so if you want to eat at a relatively normal dinner time expect to either come early to put your name in or know that they will be a pretty long wait. They do have a text message system that you can check your place in line but no time estimates like they have on Yelp. We waited about as long as was estimated- was sat 45 min after adding our name at 5:45pm (4 people). The space is all solid blue with some decor and plants - very loud inside but not so loud you couldn't hear your dining companions. We were greeted right away and given water and menus. We were also told that family style is recommended because dishes come out as they are ready and not all at once. I thought this was very important info to share with guests. We ordered three different pizzas, all yummy - we all liked the classic Margherita the best, followed by the Not so Classic Pep and the Sawyer. Crust was well cooked underneath on the bottom (which some places leave it a bit runny and it's harder to eat), ratios of cheese to toppings were right, and crust itself was quality. Overall we enjoyed our evening. This place is probably better suited for a date night or special evening out with friends, but I don't think I'd put it on my short list for take out pizza. I'm curious to know if they ever rotate their pizza menu, but I'd like to come back and maybe try some of the other items on the menu too.

Yelp
Love the cap hill location, so i was excited to see that there is a larger location now in queen anne! I noticed the menus slightly vary, but both are delicious. I came for the corn pizza, and it was perfectly seasoned and amazing, it's basically corn cheese on bread. The tagliatelle was confusing at first, i wasnt sure if i liked a citrusy cream sauce but it grew on me and the pork was very tender. It was pretty loud inside, very lively and good for 2-4 people groups. Came on a friday 8 pm, and they said it would be an hour and a half wait but was able to get seated in only 15 minutes! Street parking

Yelp
It was my 2nd time here and I really enjoyed their pasta and salad! The pizzas were also good but they weren't my favorite. The service here is great. Staff were very friendly. This location is a lot bigger than the one in Caphill so the wait time is significantly less. I'd come back for their pastas and maybe a different pizza next time.

Yelp
We were super excited to see Cornelly open in Queen Anne! This location is loads more spacious than the one in cap hill. We got the tagliatelle and the scallops. Both were fantastic. The tagliatelle had a slight citrus taste that balanced with the butter sauce to create a light refreshing taste. Most pastas feel heavy but this one was just the perfect balance. The scallops were amazing! Not sure what that sauce was but the perfect bite was definitely the scallop+ a big of the eggplant + the pesto (?) sauce. Highly recommend those two dishes! Our waitress was super friendly as well and said that the restaurant will have a dessert menu soon! Looking forward to that! 10/10 would come back! We will probably try the drinks as well since those also looked amazing!

Yelp
Great new addition to Queen Anne. even though the restaurant seemed completely full we were seated right away, of course it helps that we were a table of two. very friendly server was at our table immediately, drinks were delivered quickly. Solid little menu they've got there, and get the feeling it's rotating/changing but I'm not sure. I was worried about wait time for the food but I timed it and it only took EIGHT minutes from order to table even though they were very crowded. that was impressive! my salmon was delicious and I look forward to trying more of their food room for improvement... Music was very loud, the interior color is a bright blue and it's almost offputting because it doesn't feel like an Italian restaurant. And there's no dessert yet but I hear that might happen sometime soon. and personally I wish restaurants with hard benches would provide some kind of cushioning

Andrew O.

Yelp
The pizza here is legit good definitely the best part of the meal. The pasta and drinks were fine, not amazing but not terrible either. What disappointed me was the service. It was pretty slow, and it didn't feel like the staff really checked in or paid attention. Overall, decent food but the service kind of spoiled the experience.

Yelp
Ventured out to the new location of Cornelly in Queen Anne! We tasted a few of the new menu items and it was delicious! This location is huge! Only thing I was sad to not see on the menu was their Caesar Salad, the location in Capitol Hill has it, and it is fantastic!!
google avatar

Yelp
So excited Cornelly opened in Queen Anne! The location in Cap Hill was a huge pain to park at and it was tiny, so we only went once. The Queen Anne location is soo much bigger and much easier to get to. We got the grilled vegetables, pesto rigatoni, and the summer sweetie pizza bc I can't say no to corn pizza. The grilled veggies were cabbage, squash, and broccolini. It was good but I will say quite simple. The veggies were pretty grilled and there was a grilled lemon as well to squeeze on top and then there was a pile of flaky salt. The pesto rigatoni was hit and miss for me. I loved the texture of the rigatoni and it was cooked perfectly. The pasta itself felt a little underseasoned to me which was surprising esp because I remember the pasta we had at their cap hill location was really salty. And then they didn't put it on the menu, but the pesto definitely had mint in it, which was not for me. I hate mint, and if I had seen it listed on the menu, I definitely would've ordered a different pasta. Luckily it wasn't super overpowering, so I could still eat it but it wasn't my fav. The pizza was great! I loved the corn, and the cheese was so gooey stretchy. The pizza dough was sturdy enough so the pizza itself wasn't too floppy, and the crust was doughy and chewy which I love.

Yelp
Solid pizza. The pork was really juicy and flavorful, but there wasn't much pork or shallots. Service was great and ambience was lovely.

Yelp
Food is fantastic. Service pretty good. SO LOUD. We were out for date night and couldn't hear each other across the little table. I asked to be reseated and the other spot was pretty loud also. So loud we considered leaving. Please put some carpet or other sound absorbant material in. Also please please add places to put the purses under tables and in the bathroom. Who wants to put a purse on the ground. I won't be eating in again until it's quieter. Would be open to takeout. Eating out is about the whole experience, not just the food

Yelp
We've been anxiously waiting for this place to open for some time and we were very excited to try it. We went on a Friday night so we were expecting a wait. We waited for about 30 minutes which was fine. We had a friendly greeting from the hostess and didn't wait long for the waitstaff to take our order. Our waitress was well versed on the dishes. We started with the focaccia and seasonal butter. It was excellent. The seasonal butter was so good I could have eaten the butter as my main course. The next was the gem lettuce salad. Loved the candied walnuts and lettuce but the dressing stole the show. The dressing had a strong garlic taste but it didn't over power the salad and the walnuts provided a nice balance. We then ordered the Spaghetti which was in a red sauce and fontina cream. I was a little hesitant about the fontina cream but it really worked well with the sauce. The Spaghetti was fresh and obviously homemade. Our finale was the not so classic pep pizza. The pizza was a little smaller than expected but it really worked since we were already pretty full from the pasta, bread and all the seasonal butter I inhaled. The honey with the pepperoni was great. The crust was crisp and had the imperfections that I expect with great pizza. Overall it was a great experience and a great addition to the neighborhood. Only downside was it was a little loud but not overbearing. On a side note they do not offer delivery which I was a little suprised originally but after dining there I realized the special sauce with Cornelly may be the dining experience. I'm not sure if the food would be as enjoyable or translate well with takeout. We have our take out pizza places that we enjoy but it was the other dishes before the pizza that make this place special. There are plenty of other take out pizza places but I wouldn't expect this to be in that category.

Yelp
Wonderful experience. Friends and I go out once a month and dine family style somewhere. This month was Cornelly. We chose right! Started with the bread service, gnocco fritto, scallops, hamachi crudo, and some drinks (vodka martini, manhattan, (told the bartender something with mezcal but make it sweet and he delivered!!), and a glass of wine). The gnocco is a must! Salty, savory and amazing. Same with the scallops. The scallop with onion broth, pear and guanciale is unforgettable. The hamachi was a big pass for us all. Begging salt and acidity. The bread was fine but probably would skip it next time. We all agreed that the pizza was way more enjoyable and worth it than getting the bread service. The next round of food was a pasta special, caramelle shaped pasta filled with apple butter and in a Gorgonzola sauce. Three of us agreed it was fine but it almost tasted more of a dessert than an entree. While the other of us loved it. The second pasta we got was the gnocchetti. Cheesy, creamy, al dente and perfect. We also decided on one pizza, The delicate queen. She was a queen. The queen of the night for three of us. The one of us who didn't love it still liked it a lot. She just found she liked the apple butter pasta more. To each their own. We made sure to praise the bartender for coming up with some stellar, off the cuff drinks that honestly, made the meal. That alone elevated the experience. Ambience was great and while I had read some reviews that it's a bit loud inside, i felt it suited our group well. Will definitely be back and would absolutely recommend.

Yelp
Pleasant atmosphere and good service. Nice salad. But our pizza was both burnt and undercooked - seems as if the oven temperature was too high. Strange for a pizza restaurant to get this wrong. Feedback was graciously accepted by our server.

Yelp
This place is my favorite! Well, maybe tied with their Cap Hill location :) The pizza is top tier, but I actually like the pasta the best. So good! Great wine selection and also tried the Negroni, which was delicious. Highly recommend this spot!

Yelp
A huge disappointment and a pale imitation of the original. 2/5 Stars. The original Cornelly on Capitol Hill has long been a low-key Seattle gem turning out some of the city's best pizza and pasta. Even a humble bowl of spaghetti with red sauce there felt elevated--simple ingredients transformed into something unforgettable. So when I heard about Cornelly's shiny new Queen Anne location, I couldn't wait to try it. Unfortunately, this expansion bears little resemblance to the original. At Capitol Hill, dishes were greater than the sum of their parts. At Queen Anne, they were less. Menu descriptions had my mouth watering, but what landed on the table was bland, ordinary, and forgettable. The $27 pesto rigatoni was shockingly under-seasoned--no fresh basil punch, no vibrancy--just a faint green cream sauce that cried out for salt, pepper, and parmesan. The pizzas were ... fine - but nowhere near the bright, crave-worthy pies that defined the original Cornelly. Even dessert, which I couldn't resist trying based on the delectable chocolate chip cookies made at Cap Hill, was a letdown: a bone dry tiramisu completely devoid the dish's trademark indulgent moistness. Service didn't help. Our server seemed unfamiliar with the menu and offered little guidance. The pacing of dishes was baffling: salad, then pasta seconds later, a long wait for one pizza, another lag for the next. When almost everything was gone, we were asked how everything was, and we realized that the second pasta dish we ordered had been completely forgotten. I'd like to think Cornelly Queen Anne is just finding its footing, but it felt more like a cash-in on the reputation of the original. I left disappointed, and worse, with my appetite for even the Capitol Hill Cornelly diminished. Sometimes bigger isn't better--sometimes it's just blander.

Yelp
Quick service and the little gem salad was the BEST salad I've ever had. Pizza was great! We are grateful for Cornelly in the neighborhood

Yelp
Cornelly Queen Anne has my new favorite crust in Seattle. Perfect balance of char, chew, and bubbles. I went at 8 pm and on a week night and had no problem getting a seat at the bar (the place was buzzing, but there were table available, too). Service was friendly and efficient. One word of caution: the room is large and open, which I understand to be a nice distinction from the Cap Hill location because there are more seats. However, the sound level is loud. This is not a bad thing, per se, but be forewarned if you want a quiet meal. I can't wait to go back and try more pies and some of their pasta.

Yelp
Have been twice in the last week - first time went for pizza, and absolutely great food. Although service was a bit spotty/slow. Giving them the benefit of the doubt since they just opened. Went back tonight, for non-pizza dinner and it was tremendous. The heirloom/melon salad was succulent and juicy, absolutely nailed it with great produce at the height of the season. Also had the scallops and salmon, and was very impressed with both dishes, they can certainly cook in that kitchen. Sat at the bar and had lovely service this time around. We'll be coming back ... a lot.

Meara G.

Yelp
I LOVE it here! Chloe slayed and recommended the BEST food, we had an amazing experience. Cake was fabulous as well and brought alllll the vibes. Thank you

Yelp
My husband, my sister (in town visiting) & I went to the new Cornelly on Queen Anne & got there a but before opening at 5. 28 others were waiting as well. We sat at the bar & it was so great! Awesome bartender, Katie and manager, Noah were both so welcoming & had great recommendations. We had the focaccia bread & shared a little gem salad to start - all excellent! For dinner we had Salmon, Scallops & the Agnolotti pasta. All were great but the pasta was above & beyond!!! Good dessert & excellent drinks. We'll definitely be back!

Vicky W.

Yelp
Fantastic food and delightful staff. We had a great time with a friendly ambience. The ravioli was divine and the pizza of course was lovely and unique.
