"As of the end of March the chef has left the Lower East Side hotel — a move that’s been in the works for some time — but his restaurant Corner Bar will remain as-is and continue to use his recipes." - Emma Orlow

Love this little local bar. We usually go on Sundays where our bartender friend makes the BEST Yellow Hammer drink outside of Alabama!

Love this place , extremely diverse clientele, it’s positioned right by the downtown liberty Square and by the courthouse, also there is a fantastic college William Jewell College nearby and you get a good mix up professionals, college students, teachers, coaches, locals, fantastic place!

I didn't try the food so I can't comment on that. The crowd was eclectic. If you're into wide range of ages and a comfort level type place then this is your kind of bar. The bartender is personable and everyone else is nice. The bathrooms are clean. What else do you want in a dive bar? Got a pool table if that's your thing too. Try it, it's great!

Awesome little bar. Got to meet the owner, Brian. His story and hospitality are terrific! A very welcoming place. The bartender, Shannon has a wonderful sense of humor and is beautiful. My friends and I enjoyed our time there and met two amazing people/employees. Good for Brian and good luck to him, Shannon, and The Corner Bar! We're from Minnesota and will be back soon!

I would give zero stars if I could but 5 was the only reasonable option. First of all… this place is NOT a strip club. 🙄 and the bartenders (b words) would not even pretend for an extra tip. Very annoying. They even over served my dog who I had to literally walk home. Disgusting. I demanded Karaoke on demand and they threatened to kick me out. I had no choice but to fight the bartender. I lost. So embarrassing. 10/10 would not recommend. Better off staying home and watching fox new while crying.

Yelp
Best damn dive bar around. My parents drank here in the late 60"s & early 70's. Good service, good prices and great friendship. Nothing fancy here just a good time. all of the bartenders are top notch and Patty's food on Saturday's is excellent.

Yelp
My very 1st memory of the Corner Bar is from the early 70's and my Mom would pull up in front and tell me to go in and get your father. My father was usually annoyed at having to leave his shuffleboard game, loaded jukebox or conversation with the equally loaded good ole boys. The bartender would often threaten to throw me down the heating vent behind the bar; which I believed to be a portal to the Underworld; unless I went and told my mother to come back in a while. Just like my mother leaving for a while and returning, so did I. I left Liberty and the Corner Bar before I could legally drink and then in the early 2000's I ended up back in Liberty for a decade. I remember going back the first time as an adult and being a little trepidatious about entering since I had heard plenty of stories about it attracting the "wrong crowd" - mostly from judgmental Country Club types. I now understand that I am "the wrong crowd" because some of the most fun I've ever had at a bar has been here. I've reconnected with long lost friends, made lots of new friends, "owned" the shuffleboard table, played a lot of great and obscure stuff on the juke box and have had some of the best conversations ever- all in this perfectly classic Dive Bar. It's been a decade since I have lived in the neighborhood and now I only am able to get back for a fun night about once a year. My visit last weekend offered a lot of newer and younger clientele, but still a few older regulars but most importantly the same welcoming spirit of comradery. I hope The Corner Bar can hold out for a few more future generations.

Yelp
New to Liberty-10years. Wednesday at the Corner Bar is Taco WEDNESDAY. $2 tacos-fresh fixins.100% better than any fast food.I miss very few Wednesdays at the Corner Bar. Patty is a great bartender, server etc.She is not a story teller, just takes care of business. Ambience:What ambience ? Go there for food ,beer, friends, pool, Sports on TV.

Yelp
It's a dive bar. No more, no less so if you're walking in expecting a nice wine list then you are in the wrong place. If you want a cold beer and watch the game on TV then you've come to the right place

Yelp
I tried to stop by on a Saturday night but it looked closed so we did not go in. The site said it should have been open.

Yelp
A classic, down-to-earth dive bar in downtown Liberty. It was moderately busy inside. We got some Coors Light cans and decided to chill for a while, playing some shuffleboard and then some Silver Strike. Liberty's most well-known homeless guy came in and said hello to everyone while we played. The men's room here is the epitome of a dive bar restroom. It has enough fixtures that theoretically three people could be in here at once, but there's barely room enough for even 1 person to get in and still be able to close the door. As far as dives go, this is a good one. Good bar games, good food, and nice people.

Yelp
A true local bar right off the Square in liberty. What was once a little hole in the wall place where you could get a cold beer has now turned into a cozy little place where you can get truly home cooked food as well as a cold beer. Plenty of TVs to watch the game, Shuffle board, pool table, and a jukebox that plays anything from classic country to Motown.

Yelp
Great find. Stopped in while attending a car show. It was a Saturday & Patty was serving a pork chop dinner. The atmosphere is perfectly divey. Food was amazing. People friendly & welcoming. Definitely will be back.

Yelp
The Corner Bar is The Dive of all dives: Bud. Shuffleboard. Locals. And vodka-soaked gummy bear shots. It's not complicated, folks. Nor should it be - that's the appeal of a dive, isn't it?

Yelp
This is such a cute little dive bar! We stopped in after dinner on a Wednesday, and were really charmed by this place. It's small, but has a really long bar with lots of seats. There were about 20 people inside the bar, but it wasn't busy or overly loud at all. They had the Royals game on the TVs, which was great, and the beer was cheap and cold. The bartender was really talkative and nice and talked us into getting the shot of the day. What I look for in a great dive bar is a clean bathroom (check), cheap beer (check), and friendly patrons and bartenders (check!).

Yelp
This is such a great little hole in the wall. Cozy and comfortable, and Mary behind the bar is fantastic. Great personality, good knowledge, and incredibly personable. Two thumbs up.

Yelp
Well... Did go to this place quite often but recently moved back to the area so me and a buddy went there. We ordered some beer and start to chat with a fella and loaded to juke box full of music when the music was done I went back to find a note saying don't play and a piece of tape over it and a guy telling me to only play 80s music! What the hell if I'm a paying customer does it matter? I was only play good music that people were enjoying besides for the lady behind the bar. I got kicked out for playing what I wanted on the joke box.

Yelp
This is THE dive bar of Liberty. Pretty small place but an okay atmosphere. Beer tasted a little funny...maybe old. They had a neat shuffleboard game that kept people busy. I'm sure the bathroom adventure would've been a real trip, but I didn't go because my mind was just racing with horror scenes. I might go back once in a while...or if I have some out of town visitors and we want a laugh. I think they had the last tube-style TV known in existence. The old guy bar tender was nice.
