Corner Cafe Review - Broadway - Newport - The Infatuation

"You’ll know you’ve found the Corner Cafe by the crowd milling about on the sidewalk from 7am onward. In addition to the influx of tourists, this is where you’ll find locals meeting with friends for a weekday brunch over fresh-squeezed BYOB mimosas, chatting at the counter about a recent article in Newport This Week , or fueling visiting relatives for the 3.5-mile cliff walk. Everything here is going to be good, like ovos acores, a Portuguese twist on eggs benedict, french toast stuffed with Canadian bacon, apples, raisins, and swiss, and blue corn breakfast tacos. They don’t take reservations, so if you pass by and don’t see a line, take it as a sign to get some brunch. " - Danielle Rose

Google
Best breakfast on Cape cod. These people are amazing! is absolutely epic. Love this place recommended for anybody passing through or local. I live in Falmouth and this is the place I choose to enjoy my breakfast

Google
Sweet little local place we went for breakfast like everyone else. It wasn’t amazing but decent and good prices. The young waitress there was very sweet and friendly. The food we had wasn’t cooked right and it was fixed with no problems. Pancakes were fluffy and delish 🥞 but hash browns undercooked. The chocolate chip cookie was very tasty. They use biodegradable straws which was nice and the cold brew was decent too. Overall not bad.

Google
This local breakfast place has a lot of style and heart. The food was amazing and the only thing better was the service. I will definitely return when I am in the area again! You need to check it out.

Amazing!! Good prices, good service, good food! It can get crowded (30+ minute wait during peak hours on the weekends) but it’s worth it, and you can always wake up a bit earlier or come on weekdays for almost no line. Thank you corner cafe, you have a happy return customer (:

Cape Cod Star Reviews

Google
Very good prices. Great little place. Varied menu with a lot of choices. They do their own baking, though many things are commercial mixes. Loaded fries were good, but could be better. Inside needed more crunch. I could have ordered better. I should have ordered the home fries. I love the vibe here. The smallest bathroom in the world is actually a toilet room.

Google
Best Diner on Cape Cod. Their specials are the best thing on the menu and change often so you never get bored. The vibe is homie like a well-dressed living room, feeling very inviting. The staff were absurdly friendly, and the place also serves as a bakery with a variety of different delicious goods. The loaded hashbrowns was the best I've had outside the deep south. I could not recommend this place or their food enough.

Google
A local staple, we've enjoyed the food and service for years. Quick and easy, they turn tables really fast. Hot coffee and good food with a smile, they have their service dialed in.

Rosemary Friend

Google
Ir was okay. Very homey and the menu was reasonable in choices and price. Our waitress could have been more attentive, being Mother's Day it wasn't very busy and she only checked in with us once. Got refill coffee from another server.

Yelp
Need to offer smoked salmon for edds Benedict and serve lox and bagels. Other than that eggs Benedict was good but needs more options.

Yelp
The skillets are not skillets... they become just an open face omelet.. service was great and the food was very good just misleading, confused when my food did not come in a skillet.

Yelp

Yelp
Visiting Cape Cod and we wanted to find a diner for breakfast. This place had good reviews, so we stopped in. It was fairly busy, but it was a Saturday morning, so it was not unusual. The restaurant and the bathrooms were relatively clean. The food was decent at a decent price. The reason that I gave it 4 stars is that the service was not great. Honestly, the staff was not very friendly. One of the servers made a nasty comment to an older couple that sat at a table near us. I am going to help that this was an isolated incident and maybe they were just having a difficult day.

Yelp
The Corner Cafe is a great breakfast place. We stop in here often on weekend mornings. The food is very good, I like the breakfast sandwiches, but have also had omelettes. I wish the menu was a bit larger and the sausage was links and not patties, but overall this is a great place to eat.

Yelp
Seems like a great local place. Cozy vibe, packed tables of military men, there's a base nearby, couples and families. It had delicious homemade cooking and even a bakery case. The service was a bit salty but whatever, food was good and coffee was hot. I tried a Portuguese sausage, lingcuica I never had before.

Yelp
Excellent breakfast solution over the bridge for contractors coffee rocks! Oh, and food is great too.

Yelp
Food is great, service is wonderful with a great atmosphere. love this place for breakfast or lunch, they make wonderful eggs Benedict and all types of breakfasts. For lunch I recommend the cafe BLT and the fresh made chips Yummy yummy yummy

Yelp
Everything was good and the portions are ample. The service was quite good too. And it's only a short drive to the ocean afterward.

Yelp
This local establishment is a great breakfast diner that greats you with friendly staff and the smell of fresh baked pastries. Unlike everything else on the cape, the prices are reasonable and the food is amazing. My family and I enjoy coming over for Sunday brunch or when I just don't feel like cooking. So if your trying to find a nice diner during your visit to the cape, this place won't disappoint with their amazing eggs Benedict and free coffee refills. See ya there!

Yelp
Have ventured out here twice from East Falmouth for breakfast and was delighted each time! The food is delicious, the waitstaff friendly, the portions hearty and the ambiance adorable! First time out hubby had special apple fritter french toast and he RAVED about it. I had a whole grain banana pancake and it was delicious! Second time there my friend ordered the traditional eggs Benedict and she said it was wonderful! I had the daily scramble with ham and cheese, homemade raisin toast and fresh fruit- yum! Coffee and orange juice rounded out our meal, and we WILL return!

Yelp
Outstanding food, service with a great local atmosphere. Very accessible to the elderly and really friendly staff.

Yelp
Great food and service here. I have only got take out but everything is fresh and delicious. Onion strings are probably the best I have ever had and that's saying a lot considering I get them to go. Fresh fry oil is the key so you know when the quality is this good they pay attention to ALL the details! Keep up the great work.

Yelp
Great little breakfast spot off the beaten path in Pocasset. I've never had a bad meal here, and the food is delicious. Prices are very reasonable. Why 3 stars? The service ranges from average to terrible. No one greeted me when I walked in and I watched 3 employees walk by me. The waitress forgot my drink 3 times, never came to check on us to see if we needed a coffee refill or if the food was OK, and clearly wasn't trained. I get that it's summer high school/college staff, but it's not hard to teach people good customer service skills.

Yelp
The food here was very good. We got 3 orders of the eggs Benedict(plus 3 other items) and everyone thought it was delicious. But the service didn't match the quality of the food. There are picnic tables outside to eat at and we had 2 dogs with us so this was perfect. We told this to the server that greeted us and she said to place our order at the counter and the food would be packed to go so we could take it outside. It took a few minutes for someone to take our order and we were told we couldn't get any coffees at that time because they were too busy. But we place our food order, which was for 6 people and almost $100. After almost 10 minutes someone took our coffee order. We also asked if we could have some waters for the table and once again we're told they were too busy to get us waters. But we're told we could go to the convenience store next door and buy waters. I didn't even know how to respond! If we were sitting inside we could get waters, all other customers had them, but because we sat outside we had to buy water at the store next door. This person was so rude and if we hadn't already paid for our order, we would have left. I would not recommend this restaurant even though the food was very good.

John D.

Yelp
Great place for a breakfast! The coffee is hot, food is plentiful an tasty. Staff is sassy an fun!! Blueberry Pancake Concoction,French Toast pick your eggs ( no chickens were harmed) . But their unborn are delicious!

Rob C.

Yelp
Great place for breakfast, very busy but they get you in and out quickly. Local neighborhood establishment. Never tried lunch so can't comment on that.

Yelp
We were heading back home from Falmouth and were looking for a cozy breakfast place.. Sunday morning, a little off season. Seated right away and very reasonable amount of time to take and receive our order. I wish I could have tried it all, but I went with the loaded hash browns, and it was exactly what I was looking for. If we are back in the area, I'll be back!

Yelp
Stopped by here for some breakfast and was pretty disappointed in most of the food. The breakfast potatoes were sadly the most bland I've ever tasted (my group agreed as well) although they looked like they should have some sort of seasoning on them. The breakfast sandwich and hash browns were the only good items we ordered; but it's a bit hard to mess up a breakfast sandwich. The French toast and breakfast burrito were both bland and underwhelming.

Yelp
Great food for a good price!! Meals are so big it's good for 3 people or just really bad for my diet! Also can't stop eating because it tastes so good. Good and fast service. My minor that there's no variations on coffee.

Michael M.

Yelp
Decent breakfast joint. The have a loyal customer following, but for an occasional user not so great. Not enough staff to service all the tables causes needless delays. Food is OK and the coffee is not good. Overall, not many options
google avatar

Chelsea M.

Yelp
This is the best breakfast spot on this side of Cape! Food is excellent and staff is even better -- Caroline is so sweet and always goes the extra mile. Love living in this neighborhood :)

Yelp
Great stop while driving by or after church. Even though small its never a long wait to be seated. The breakfasts are huge and very filling. Looks beautiful on the plate. Great variety of items to choose from for every type and food preference. Like your meat lover, vegartrian etc. Also their donuts r to die for. Large and lots of filling. Good variety. But get there early as they go fast. Just a bit off rt 28 but definetly worth it.

Yelp
When you travel to a less populated summer vacation/weekend type of spot, you typically don't go nuts looking for the best spot in town. You ask what is close and good enough to stop my stomach from growling. It just so happened, The Corner Cafe, a diamond in the rough, was a five minute drive from the house we were staying at in Cape Cod. Mind you, I only had their breakfast, so I can hardly speak about what else they serve. But hot damn, I would be happy to have this as my go to breakfast joint in any town. I got the eggs Benedict and some bacon. It was out of this world good. The potatoes were done well. The coffee was free flowing and good. My wife got some blueberry pancake concoction and that too was real tasty. The vibe and service at this joint was real cool too. Great spot.

Andrew S.

Yelp
Visited on Father's Day so expected a long wait (avoid the Church crowd if you can). They should have a hostess station out front- we stood awkwardly at the door waiting for someone to acknowledge us. After seeing someone else do it, we walked to the wait staff station towards the back and put our name on a list. Had to wait outside for about a half hour, which was fine. That said the food was very good. Started w grilled corn muffin which is always a hit. I usually have the Cafe Scrambler (always excellent) but opted for the Loaded Hashbrown special (very good as well). As always, the Toast with the meal was not very toasted. My son had chocolate covered waffles which he said were more like waffle covered chocolates. A bit much even for his sweet tooth. French toast is solid and the home fries are great.

Yelp
The food is awesome, as is the staff. They are quick and efficient, and all your hot food is served hot. Prices are great - even compared to off-Cape, and they serve very generous portions. The atmosphere is relaxed, and you get a nice amount of elbow room due to the number and setup of tables. More specifically, they poach an egg like no one else! No vinegar taste, no needing to soak up water with a paper towel, and no hardening of the yolk. Pure golden goodness.

Don L.

Yelp
I'm hesitant to leave a five-star review, even though it's my honest opinion. While I want the hard working and friendly staff of The Corner Cafe to have all the success they deserve, I don't want to have to wait for a table at Cape Cod's best breakfast restaurant.

Jen A.

Yelp
This is my favorite breakfast spot on the Cape. The eggs Benedict is my favorite. The hollandaise sauce is wonderful! It's a small, busy place with excellent food and a homey atmosphere. If you're an early riser, grab the paper and cozy up at the bar with your coffee. I'll be back again and again!

Yelp
We have had breakfast at the Corner Cafe as a family for more than 20 years, but this year things have a changed. Longer wait times and lower quality food have sent us (22 of us) to Talk of the Town. What was a family tradition is now a sad tale.
google avatar

Maureen F.

Yelp
Cute little breakfast place. Fresh food and baked goods. Good service too. I'll be back.

Amanda C.

Yelp
First time here. Sunday morning and they have one or maybe two waitresses on. One bus kid and a coffee girl. Bus kid looks like he hates his job, his body language sells it. Waited a little for the waitress to come up but it looked like she was serving every single table with no help. Food was pretty good though. What absolutely blew me away was when a party of nine came in and waited a little while. They had to sit them at different tables obviously. Right before they sat, they sat a mother and her daughter at a table. The father of the 9.. made a scene and yelled across the dinning room "they're not with us!!" And made the waitress go up to them and told them (after they already got coffee) they had to get up and wait for another table. I'm mad the father made a scene but I'm disappointed the waitress did that. It will probably make those ladies not want to come back and after seeing that today, I'll probably go elsewhere. We'll see. But overall it was good food and they said they were renovating it soon

Yelp
Our favorite spot. We love The Corner Cafe! Always fresh food, fast service. The women who work there are fabulous and friendly!
google avatar

Yelp
Very good food for the price in an area that caters to tourists (as well as locals). Arrive just as it opens at 7 a.m. and it feels as if this is a hangout for local people, then it fills later in the morning with summer people and weekenders. The food was quite good. However, we ate at Corner Cafe the day after breakfast at Moonakis Cafe 15 minutes away and in this comparison, good suffers compared to very good-to-excellent. Staff was friendly and we were served quickly. Large portions, maybe more than you need for your health.
google avatar

Susan L.

Yelp
Great pancakes, reasonable prices, but not the best service. We do, though, always have a tasty brunch here:) would recommend
google avatar

Saud A.

Yelp
The food was barely adequate and the staff were rude. They make you wait outside even though there is an empty table and the waitresses keep looking at you.

Megan D.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing food, and the prices can't be beat. They also offer baked goods and coffee to go, which was a welcome addition. All the staff we interacted with where awesome. Would go again in a heartbeat!

Yelp
Ah, good ol' Corner Cafe. The food here is generally good but there are two things to look out for. 1: The omelettes are "meh", not bad, not good, just average. 2: The bagels are a notch above the rest. I always substitute my toast for a bagel. Mmm, soft, crispy bagels with a light fluffy cream cheese. Price is very reasonable, particularly for the cape. Not a whole lot of seating here and they're only open for breakfast/lunch, so get in early.

Yelp
If zero stars was an option it is what I would have given. This review was from my experience this morning. When we walked in the door with my family of five We was sat a a table for four, when i asked for a fifth chair I was ignored and needed to find it myself. The table we sat at was so close to the door it touched me when it opened so I asked to be moved. That should have been I sign to leave as it only went downhill. Then menu is fine but how about having an egg option on the kids menu, when you claim a bottomless cup of coffee, do not roll your eyes at your customer when they ask for a refill. When taking an order, do not walk away before you get the whole order and when you get called back to complete the order don't give your customers an attitude. Lastly I am sorry I asked for a fork, I didn't know silverware was to much to ask for.

Yelp
i tried this place for breakfast and it was packed on a Sunday morning! I had the skillet special- omlet with spinach avocado and cheddar cheese. yummy! it was delicious,. Very large dish, comes with hash brown or home fries. I finished every bit of it and was stuffed! All this for $6.99. Great deal! The staff was dressed in ordinary clothes which was a bit odd, t shirt and jeans, one girl even had a see thru shirt. I couldnt distinguish between the staff and customers. With that said, our waitress was great and food took about 10 minutes.

Bill S.

Yelp
Nice little breakfast place. Good food good service. Can get very busy on the weekends.

C Q.

Yelp
So sad. Used to be one of my favorite breakfast places. Yesterday however they lost me for good. Not very clean, good food but shitty service. Waited 2o minutes for a to go box and check while servers were chatting amongst each other and cooing over young children. I like kids too, but efficiency is important as well.
google avatar

Matt L.

Yelp
Nice spot. Crowded on Saturday morning. Egg sandwich good, but hash with eggs looked much better. Service cheerful and quick. As a guy who used to own a restaurant, only dig is was old coffee, slightly burnt.
google avatar

Pamela B.

Yelp
We came back again during our short visit to the area because our whole family loved their food. We had French toast, skillet special, and pineapple upside down pancakes. That last one was to die for! Highly recommend!
google avatar

Joey Y.

Yelp
Food is always delicious. Portions are plenty. Great neighborhood feel. Never have to wait for a table. Well, if you know the right time to go that is. Enjoy.
google avatar

Josh A.

Yelp
This place has some delicious food. Definitely worth a stop in if you're hungry and looking for a good breakfast meal. Atmosphere was a little plain, but the wait staff were kind and efficient and the food came out quickly. It's a little expensive for my tastes, but it's a local business on Cape Cod, and the cost comes with the territory. Their skillets and omelets are delicious. My friend got the pancakes and said they too were very good.
google avatar

Dana D.

Yelp
Been coming here for years when visiting my parents. Everyone is always friendly and the food is exactly what you want from a local breakfast place. They do great take out a well!

Martin H.

Yelp
Excellent breakfast! Very large servings. Was very busy and was initially understaffed the morning we went but server worked very hard to serve us in a timely manner.
google avatar

Donna C.

Yelp
I have had the opportunity to have breakfast and lunch here. The breakfasts are plentiful in size and delicious. I had the Cafe Scrambler which I recommend. I also ate lunch here more than a few times but only ordered a sandwich once. The breakfast ate that good. Being a resident of the area the summer time is harder to get into because of the tourist. So I usually go during off seasons.
