Corner Review - New Cross - London - The Infatuation

"It's unsurprising to discover that Corner, a cafe in New Cross, is co-owned by an architect and interior designer. It's a super stylish place, with exposed wooden floorboards, an old-school shop counter, and possibly the chicest toilets in South East London. It’s a great spot for working on a laptop in the window, or meeting friends for a seriously good coffee from local Deptford roaster, Elsewhere Coffee. Their selection of delicious cakes are definitely worth a try—the lemon drizzle and carrot cake in particular get our vote. Check out the downstairs exhibition space too, which showcases up-and-coming local artists, and stay tuned to their Instagram to find out when their LGBTQ+ “Corner After Hours” cocktail nights are on. photo credit: David Christian" - Rachel Rumbol

My visit to Corner New Cross was a vibrant and enjoyable experience, defined by its lively atmosphere, creative menu, and welcoming service. From the moment you arrive, the café feels inviting, with its modern décor, relaxed vibe, and community‑oriented spirit making it an ideal spot for both casual meals and social gatherings. The menu offered a wide variety of fresh, wholesome dishes and drinks. The breakfasts were hearty and satisfying, the sandwiches and wraps showcased bold flavors, and the cakes and pastries added a sweet indulgence. The coffee was rich and aromatic, while the teas and smoothies provided refreshing alternatives. Each dish felt thoughtfully prepared, balancing comfort with creativity. Service was attentive, friendly, and efficient. The staff created a hospitable environment, ensuring that guests felt welcome and well looked after throughout the visit. What impressed me most was the combination of creative food, cozy ambiance, and genuine hospitality. A visit to Corner New Cross is not just about dining, but about enjoying the warmth and vibrancy of a neighborhood café that celebrates both flavor and community. Verdict: Corner New Cross is highly recommended for anyone who appreciates quality café fare, good coffee, and a welcoming, lively setting.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Corner Coffee Shop in New Cross is an absolute gem! As a local, I feel so lucky to have this fantastic spot right on my doorstep. The staff are incredibly friendly, and the owners always make you feel so welcome. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with beautifully designed interiors that make it a perfect place to relax or get some work done. On top of that, they host amazing exhibitions and classes that bring the community together and add a creative flair to the place. It’s more than just a coffee shop – it’s a true community hub. Couldn’t recommend it more!

This coffee shop definitely has a character and great atmosphere sitting there for some time. It constantly has customers visit but not busy to the degree that you can’t find a seat. However, it’s a bit pricey considering the area it locates. I ordered Cappuccino and the portion is smaller than I expected. I also don’t find it tastes extremely good, above the average though.

Crucially the coffee is good, staff friendly, atmosphere warm and it’s kid-friendly. Add to that some lovely cakes and all is good. It’s early days but a neighbour also had a positive experience today (low-key opening day). They need more plates, a few more chairs and perhaps a bit more light in places but those things will come. The owners are friendly and have worked hard to transform this tired hardware shop into a welcoming destination. I shall enjoy some coffee and cake, even had it considered as a place for a local meeting. Keep up the good work.

Excellent interior, creating such warm and cozy atmosphere. Toilet is spacious, clean and bright. One of the best in London cafe. However, I don't see there is any customer service, rather cold and distance, nor rude but probably too cool. It okay they take their time to make their coffee but I'd appreciate if they tell me to find a seat whilst waiting. Cos, it was quite a long wait for 1cup of coffee. My cappuccino was rather like a latte. Plenty of fluffy milky foam on top, which was quite thick, was a pain to stir. Unlikely I will revisit.
