The 24 Best Restaurants in Ottawa, Ontario, and Gatineau, Quebec | Eater

"In a former South Asian grocery with exposed brick, Corner peach is a restaurant and corner store selling craft brews and locally roasted coffee; it’s also about as hip as dining in Ottawa gets. Co-owners and co-chefs Caroline Murphy (formerly at Edgar) and Emma Campbell (Supply and Demand and Oz Kafe) dish up comfort food on small vintage plates reminiscent of your grandmother’s kitchen. The menu changes regularly, but expect options like French onion soup, fried Brussels sprouts, and braised pork belly." - Joel Balsam

Corner Peach is a hidden gem in Ottawa that really nails comfort food with an elevated twist. The space itself is super cute and welcoming, with a vibe that makes it great for a casual lunch or dinner. They also run a seasonal menu, which keeps things fresh and exciting. The smash burger was the star — perfectly seared with crispy edges, layered with fried onions, and I added bacon for that extra kick. Every bite was juicy and full of flavor. The fries were some of the best I’ve had in the city: crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and well seasoned. The surprise highlight was their fridge chocolate cake — rich, decadent, and the perfect way to end the meal. Service was friendly, and the overall experience left me already planning my next visit. If you’re in Ottawa and craving a smash burger that delivers, this spot deserves to be on your list.

What a hidden gem in Ottawa! Small restaurant with a small, unique menu. They use local produce and the food is just delicious! The service is also super good! You might have to wait a bit for your dish depending on the number of customers but its definitely worth it! Highly recommended!

Very cute spot! Service was exceptional and the food was so tasty! I highly recommend making a reservation! We were a group of 4 and ordered several items to share, the bill was very reasonable!

Hands down the best fried fish sammy I’ve had in Ottawa!! Service was super friendly and I loved the vibe. The strawberry-rhubarb and sour cream soft serve sundae was the perfect way to end the meal on a hot summer day :)

Corner Peach is a true Ottawa gem, serving up comfort food with a creative twist. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, ideal for a relaxed lunch or dinner. Their seasonal menu adds a nice touch of variety and keeps each visit exciting. The smash burger stole the show — beautifully seared with crispy edges, topped with fried onions, and bacon for an extra punch. Each bite was juicy and full of flavor. The fries were equally impressive: golden, crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, and perfectly seasoned. Definitely worth a visit!

Corner Peach is a cozy, welcoming spot with a delicious menu. The in-house made ricotta was AMAZING. Everything tastes fresh and intentional, with a real sense of care behind it. The fried fish Sammy OMG. Beef tartare is so good. I keep coming back!

We had such a special celebration at Corner Peach. They gave us a private dining area. Food was excellent - very yummy desserts and pasta. Their wine and cocktails selection was great too - and love the attentive and sweet service!

Stopped by this adorable lunch spot in the city with my husband while we were out working on real estate, and it was such a great find! We had the poutine and the whipped zucchini on sourdough.. both were absolutely delicious. The food was fresh and full of flavour, and the service was so friendly. You can tell from his big smile in the photo how much we enjoyed it! :D

Yelp
Games that interesting neighbourhood casual spot, it is well named because it's right on the corner of the street The restaurant is interesting because they have a store beside the restaurant that serves different unique food items such as pickle vegetables, fresh bread, and some wines The food was very enjoyable , despite the menu, being a little bit limited. They have some interesting rotational food items. They have a good selection of items such as beef tartare, some nicely made pasta dishes. The staff are super friendly , and very accommodating. I have no they don't have a doesnt a cocktail menu, but they're willing to make you any classic cocktail. I will definitely come back. You just need to make sure that you have a reservation because the seating is limited

Yelp
I love corner peach!!! My friend and I had such a lovely dinner recently, everything was delicious and they were super accommodating when we showed up for our reservation an hour early lol we had all vegetarian dishes and each was exciting and very memorable, I love trying new places and I really appreciated experiencing flavours I had never tasted before! The inside is super cute and the staff were awesome. I will definitely go back! The carrot dish was unreal

Yelp
Went there for a girls night. Took a bit to be greeted by staff and then took a bit to be helped, and only 2 other people in the place.. but after the waitress came over she was professional . We had whiskey sours and margaritas, both were spirit forward with way too much ice but still yummy and enjoyable. We ordered the sourdough and butter, then the sourdough appetizer with goat cheese, beet and a cured meat and honey..very very good! My favourite dish of the night. Kale salad was next, kind of underwhelming - needed more cheese and it was a bit dry. Topped it off with a pasta and it was yummy, simple and Al dente. Small pieces of meat were awesome, wish there were more. Overall, it was a one time spot for me. The location was eclectic / hipster with good ambience and overall good food. Worth trying once of you live near by but you could get more for much less with better service elsewhere. Also, the washrooms were very nice which I always appreciate. Points for those because that matters!

Yelp
It was A-OK. But not more. The cheeseburger with bacon got rave reviews from Hubs. My salad was under-whelming with brown edges on the lettuce and not much of interest on top. The donut was pretty good. The poutine was ok, but the fries had a weird texture, almost ...I dunno...crumbly? I can't think of a better word. Service was ok but not enthusiastic. Bottom line, if you want a burger or a baked good, worth going to. Otherwise, not. Would I recommend? Depends. Would I return...maybe.

Yelp
I was in Ottawa in January when I visited Corner Peach. First of all: What a darling spot. It's charming and eclectic. They have a nice light lunch menu (think a few sandwiches, salads, and soups), a nice and varied wine list, and coffees (cappuccino, espresso, macchiato). I ordered a macchiato. The espresso had a rich, clean flavor which paired well with the perfectly frothed milk. As we all stay safe at home, I noticed that Corner Peach is reporting that they are temporarily closed. But once this crisis has passed and they're back open, I'd very much recommend for a nice lunch or an enjoyable cup of coffee.

Yelp
Awesome place for a date night. The menu has a rich coverage of spirits, beers, wines and artfully made cocktails of your choice. We shared a scallop based dish and a smoked salmon dish. Garnish for both dishes was well thought out in terms of flavors and presentation. We ordered a side of homemade sourdough bread that came with a generous offering of butter to collect all the mouth watering juices from our dishes. The staff were very friendly, prompt, professional, and kept the place spotless. The decor in this place is rustic and very well thought out. I know this place is a cafe however in the evening it certainly feels a little more upclassy. Very much reminds me of my favourite gems in Montreal. Some caveats to ensure you have a good experience here: don't expect massive plates with stacked up food, it's not that kind of place. It is more about the flavors, good vibes and atmosphere. Especially if you are going out on a date. A little bit of luck: they don't take reservations and this place is small. Easier for two, but not impossible for a group of four. Certainly going back and hopefully luck will be on our side again!

Yelp
WOW! What CAN'T Corner Peach do well!?!? Everything I've tried there from ice cream, donuts, sandwiches, pizza and focaccia is amazing! The atmosphere and staff are super great. Can't wait for this spot to operate as a full restaurant again.

Yelp
A quick stop for a coffee date. Pretty small/intimate/limited seating. Cappuccino was fab! Also had a cup of tomato dill soup. Super tasty and pipping hot, which warms my heart and my belly. Service was friendly. Parking was touch and go. No reservations for lunch, so although it seems to be pretty yum, you definitely take your chances getting a seat when you venture off the beaten track for this place. Next time I might be inclined to try dinner since they do take reservations for this. Overall, thumbs up!

Yelp
Bright corner location with a cozy feel. Some baked goods and coffee along with a small menu. Pretty good overall, will have to come back for another visit to try again.

Yelp
A terrible business concept that failed. Corner Peach is trying to be both a full service restaurant and a coffee shop. People will just want to hang out there all day with their java and laptops while the restaurant won't seat customers because there are no tables available! #badbusinessideas

Yelp
The food was sadly below average and the service even more so. Won't be going back and wouldn't recommend this restaurant. Honestly, the best thing about the beef tartare was the mayo.

Wendy B.

Yelp
I recently had dinner at Corner Peach with some friends and while the food was interesting and tasty I was very disappointed in the size of the meal. The menu is a bit misleading in that there are starters, smalls and bigs. I ordered the mushroom tart from the "big" portion and was shocked to see a barely 4" square of tart (and for the price indicated!), on a small plate being served to me. If I had known the sizing of the menu item I would have ordered a starter instead of just one dish. I had the lemon pie for dessert which was tasty but I still went home hungry. It would be a good idea if the wait staff informed new diners about the relatively small plates being served for each category. The distressed tin ceiling is to die for but it makes for a very noisy environment. We had difficulty hearing each other with a packed room of customers. Would not go back. Wendy B.

Yelp
Loved this great little neighbourhood spot. They put pickles on my breakfast sandwich, and the whole thing was fantastic, albeit a little messy with the spicy mayo. Fries were perfectly cooked and seasoned, and I could t get enough of the garlic mayo. Service was attentive and friendly with the owners onsite. I do see one of the other reviewer's concerns about people lingering in the cafe like vibe while other patrons look for a sit down meal, but it's that quality that makes it a neighbourhood place... Go for a coffee, stay for lunch.

Yelp
This is a wonderful local establishment. The service is consistently excellent (we essentially show up on a weekly basis) and the food is approachable but well executed and delicious. The servers are interesting, personable and knowledgeable. The bartender Cameron makes us feel welcome and has come to know us by name. If you are in for a meal I would also recommend indulging in their incredible desserts. It is also worthwhile stopping by for a drink and taking in the great atmosphere on any given night.
