It’s Always Spooky Season at These Haunted Restaurants and Hotels Around Atlanta

"According to some reports by guests and the owners over the years, this cafe in downtown Lawrenceville features a few spirits residing within its walls. One such spirit, Bo, apparently likes to play tricks on employees, including conjuring up the sound of breaking dishes coming from the kitchen only to sit back and watch staff scurry in to find nothing there — and no broken dishes." - Beth McKibben

So at the Corner Stop Cafe, the atmosphere is very southern and cozy. Our server was Trish I believe her name was,and she was really sweet and charming. I absolutely loved there Mason jar glasses for drinking cups. And the fact that Trish, made sure my husband cup didn't go empty, was a huge PLUS for me. Now let's get to the food! My husband ordered the Country Steak and eggs with extra gravy and he LOVED his food. He said it was cooked perfectly for him. I ordered the on the farm omelet I think it's called. It comes with like 4 different kinds of meat, onions, bell peppers and you get a choice of 1 side. Which I got the cheesy grits.( being a southern belle in all) Well my omelet was WAY too greasy, that it has grease all on the plate and it was WAY OVER COOKED. BUT like a true lady, I didn't cause a big fuss. I just simply ate my OK tasting grits and left my omelet untouched. But the lady at the register (I'm guessing was the owner) Asked why I didn't eat my omelet and I told her. She was very apologelic. So even though my food & water tasted bad, I still give this wonderful MOM&POP place a 4 STAR rating. Because I'd rather support a local business than a franchise or Corporate company anyway. So thank you Corner Stop Cafe for the delightful Southern Experience.

I ordered the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans. The biscuit comes in some kind of honey liquid which was not that tasty. (Mine had an extra bug in it I found after two bites) The chicken peice was small and dry. The potatoes had some kind of flavor in them which I could not place (I couldn't tell if it was onion or garlic) The green beans were good. The sign says "Southern" but everyone inside sounded like they were from the north east. The price was low but I do not recommend eating here.

Omg, where do I start? The southern welcoming here is genuine. The sweet tea is definitely SOUTHERN STYLE. The food was fresh. The honey buttermilk biscuit IS A MUST HAVE; the mac n cheese lacked flavor. I would definitely go back for round 2, 3 , 4, 5, & 6.

Awesome southern cooking! Cozy atmosphere too. The honey butter biscuits are TO DIE FOR. Don’t pass them up. Shrimp was a little rubbery but still delicious.

Great basic breakfast at reasonable prices. French toast was good served with hot syrup which is a plus. Restaurant decor is dated back to the 70’s with an old country atmosphere but has a local favorite for decades. Ample parking available in the back.

Down home southern cooking in a homey atmosphere. You can’t call the Corner Stop fancy, but the food is authentic, down-home southern cooking. The biscuits and gravy is wonderful tasting comfort food. Pancakes are fabulous, also. The staff is friendly and engaging. The service is prompt and spot on. We’ve been here for both breakfast and lunch. Both were spot-on and worth the stop. Take my advice: if you like down-home southern fare Corner Stop Cafe is worth a trip!

Kinda what you think of when you think of small town lunch places. Complete authenticity. Everyone seems to know it at least be familiar with everyone. Daily specials locals food is really good. I had some fried green tomatoes and deviled eggs also a pot roast sandwich.
