"What started as a small taco stand is now one of Jacksonville’s top taco places, Corner Taco. Located in the Five Points neighborhood, tucked behind the main strip of restaurants, this small locale is dishing out some of the most creative tacos in the city with fillings like sour cherry tenderloin Asada, General Tso’s chicken, and Southern fried catfish. The Wednesday specials change weekly and are entirely up to the chef, which keeps locals returning frequently. A recent favorite has been the Smashburger taco, which is precisely what it sounds like, made with a thin burger patty and cheese loaded into a taco shell." - Megan duBois

Came here with some family from out of town. Service was fast but I did find it to be quite expensive as a meal for three came out to be over $75. I ordered Carnitas tacos but they tasted more like BBQ to me. I thought the blackened Mahi taco was pretty decent. My fiancé liked his burrito & we thought the chips with queso were not bad. Not sure if we’ll be back but I’m glad we tried it!

We found this place waiting for a table at hawkers. TLDR should have waited. We decided to eat at Corner Taco since who doesn't love tacos and the whimsy of going somewhere you don't know at the last second. It was intoxicating! We were confused about the ordering since there was a touch screen at the door bur menus at the cash register. People saw us but never welcomed us. We had to figure it out for ourselves. We decided to go up to the counter and order. We waited and waited and waited some more. We asked if we could order from the counter, and she said yes, then went back to work. Then we waited and waited and waited. Finally, when we were helped, we ordered the brisket taco, sour cherry tenderloin taco, surf and turf taco, fried chicken taco, and the nachos. When we got the order, most of the items were cold. Nothing was great. The surf and turf taco i had to ask which one of my tacos was surf and turf because the shrimp was so small. They only used one corn tortilla for their tacos. That is a newbie construct that guarantees a messy experience for the customer. Wet toilet paper comes to mind. The fried chicken taco was the favorite, but we all agreed we probably won't be back. Doesn't compare to osprey tacos or casa la reina in st augustine. I wanted to like this place really I did since it helps me on my quest for great tacos everywhere.

While visiting the Riverside area, wifey wanted to grab some tacos so after reading a couple of reviews she settled on Corner Taco. All of their tacos are served with shredded cabbage, cilantro & lime on 6” corn or house-cooked flour tortillas. They did not disappoint, the tacos were good. She had the General Tso's Chicken taco and she lucked up and got a Chorizo taco for free (it was a mistake but they let her keep it). We dined in because the ambiance was nice and customer service was on point. We'll be back. Also, you can order ahead for curbside pickup.

Very small & attractive & attentive restaurant. I loved the way everything is set in here. Parking is available outside but limited spots. Their tempeh taco is good for vegetarians. Three way dip 😍 was just delicious. Chips are very nice too. Rosemary lemonade was also something interesting & new to try. Flowers are real. Small details are good.

Went somewhere else first, but I couldn't have anything there. Workers here are very friendly and the lady at the counter was very knowledgeable! They have vegetarian and vegan options, a plus! Also, craft beers on draught for $4! They even have a Michigan beer, bonus points! Oh and I'm a succulent lover, they have cute little arrangements on the tables!!! The General Tso tempeh was amazing! Get the corn shell, it's better than the flour!

We came super close to closing. We were so apologetic but they said we were fine and let us stay after while they cleaned so we could actually enjoy our food. The cherry limeade was sooo good with the simple syrup. I had carnita taco, brisket and jerk chicken taco. My favorite was the carnita! The staff was very friendly! I even gave them a tip for their troubles.

I recently had my birthday at the restaurant and they were so amazing! Everyone was very accommodating and they made it feel like we really weren’t bothering them. The food is always great and I’m happy I chose to have my bday party here.

Yelp
The server/ front desk employee/ cashier/ food runner/ busser and one other employee whos name escapes me was in the kitchen. A total of two employees for a busy Monday Lunch!! Wow!!! The food/ service/ambience EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING!!! Every customer was greeted as they walked in the door. For lunch they stayed steady and busy. Most were togo orders and or people sitting outside. theuI asked "Mikelle?" If there was anything I could bring her amd her colleague, aka Starbucks/Food/Water bc they were working incredibly hard. Personally working in the food and beverage industry for 10 years I understand how it can be. Ive been on a taco kick for about a month now trying to find the best tacos in downtown. I finally found it!!! They have great prices, a diverse and quirky menu and fabulous service. After getting my first vaccine I wanted to celebrate! I've walked buy this place a hand ful of times before but never stopped in due to the line being out the door. Wow. 12:00 on a sunny Monday seemed like the perfect time to stop it! I had 3 tacos shrimp spicy ...jerk chicken...and tempe with spicy salsa and chips with the New Belgium IPA. I definitely will be back!!! Please support this amazing small business that is killing it amist a world wide pandemic.

Yelp
Love being able to order on our phone and no rush! Server was great, yummy Sangria and the Sour Cherry Tenderloin Asada taco was amazing.

Ridge S.

Yelp
Outstanding tacos worthy of a 5 rating. Dropped one star due to being out of several items including queso. The chips and salsa were good but salsa is extremely hot. For me, that's great... but tread softly if you don't want the heat. Nice cold Dos Equis draft was excellent. Now these tacos were incredibly flavorful: West Coast (white fish), brisket, and Jerk chicken... wide range of genres which I found to be above average offerings. I love hole in the wall places where the people are busting it to get it right... they qualify!

Yelp
My wife and I drove to Riverside for some ice cream and a walk through Memorial Park. Out of the blue, she said she was hungry and suggested tacos. Naturally, as a taco lover, I agreed and off to Corner Taco we went since she'd been wanting to try it for some time. When we entered at 5 p.m. on a Saturday, there were no other diners. What greeted us when we walked in was not a person, but rather an ordering screen with the menu and a credit card reader. There are some restaurants where I can live with an ordering screen (e.g. fast food), but it seems like a cold, impersonal way to greet customers at a local stop. Maybe there are labor issues? Regardless, my wife and I ordered two tacos apiece and then sat down and waited for our orders. A staff member brought out our tacos after a bit, and they were all right, albeit they were kind of cold. I had a brisket taco without cabbage and a chipotle chicken taco served with cabbage. Had the menu listed that the chicken taco had cabbage, I would have ordered without, but alas, that item had no description. Neither one of my tacos were bursting with flavor. My wife ordered a carnitas and a shrimp taco, both also on the cold side, but ok in terms of flavor. The overall vibe was a bit glum due to a lack of customers and the dark interior. Personally, I think ditching the ordering screen, or at least moving it closer to the counter, would be an improvement to allow the staff to better connect with customers. Hopefully Corner Taco can turn it around and recapture the days when they were bursting with positive reviews.

Yelp
After a few hours in to our road trip back home we decided to stop in Jacksonville to check out Corner Taco (this involved thorough research through Yelp). We were able to speak with the chef and friendly staff member and received some recommendations on what to order. It was highly suggested to order the Brisket Burrito and so we did. At first I had my reservations on the idea of BBQ meat in a burrito but that idea was tossed out the window once I took my first bite. DELICIOUS. It paired so well with the Brie Queso, and the side of pickled onion was a nice addition to the flavor. This burrito is so jam packed that its serving will leave you with a full belly. We were able to order, eat, and hit the road again in less than 30 minutes. SO WORTH the stop.

Yelp
Order: chips and queso, blackened mahi fillet taco, grilled local shrimp taco, yucca fries, Dijon buttermilk fried chicken taco, southern fried catfish taco, and fried local shrimp taco, Mexican coke, Jarritos Lime soda. It's a cute little shop in the shopping center on Post Street by Riverside. My husband found them on Google and wanted to try them out for lunch. It's not a formal sit down restaurant; you order at the counter then sit down at one of their quaint set tables. We decided to sit outside at one of their high tops because the weather was lovely. The food didn't take long and presentation was nice. The tacos were very good. Grilled shrimp taco was cooked perfectly, meat was not dry. Mahi taco was no different with the exception that it was a bit salty. My husband order the other three tacos and said they were missing sauce like salsa or pico so he topped his off with the leftover queso from the chips. He liked it. Yucca is very similar to a potato so it makes sense to make them into fries. They tasted like a potato wedge. The dipping sauce that came with it paired really well with the yucca fries. Overall this place is well worth visiting. Happy eating!

Yelp
Had the pleasure of feasting at Corner Taco and was not disappointed! The variety of the menu and freshness of the ingredients makes this spot a must-go to visit. It's in a cute little spot right on the corner of the street in Five Points. Cozy but with plenty of seating and space to bring your friends, and an outdoor area if the weather is nice. The buttermilk taco was my number one favorite dish and I'd order it again and again. Service was fast and everyone was extremely friendly. Grab a menu, order at the register and wait for your glorious meal. They have a nice selection of beers on draft as well as some wine options. A very cool place to enjoy your lunch or dinner. $3 Craft Pints / $12 Craft Pitchers / $2 PBR Tall Boys + some great weekly specials (photo included in review)

Yelp
5 Points has no shortage of taco places, but Corner Taco is always a solid choice! This place had been on our list to visit for years and this past Sunday after a visit to the Cummer (free for Bank of America customers the first weekend of the month by the way) we gave it a shot. We are so glad we did! The interior is pretty basic, although we did enjoy the posters from other countries. The tacos are anything but basic. My wife got the local tempeh with General Tso's sauce and the 5 Points which is quinoa and hummus. Both she said were delicious and She was glad they had more than a few vegetarian options. I had the Blackened Mahi Filet with sriracha sauce, the sour cherry tenderloin taco, and the 24 hour brisket. Everything was delicious and reasonably priced. One thing to note, these are small tacos so this is more of a place to go for a light meal wheb filling up isn't the main priority. We want to try and go back on a Wednesday as they do creative specials that aren't part of the normal menu. We also would like to try their beer which was reasonably priced at $3 for a pint of craft beer. Definitely give Corner Taco a shot!

Yelp
Food: Just went there today, seems like ownership changed because the food changed a lot. The corn tortillas on the tacos were chewy and cold. Seemed like the order sat in the window for a while I think. My girlfriend was in the bathroom and could hear the cooks complaining about her ordering a different sauce on the menu. She let them know she could hear them and there was no apology, just a lazy "ok" from the staff. This place used to be so great, some of my favorite tacos in Jacksonville. But I don't feel like spending my money here anymore. The ambiance is cool, other than the rude staff. They kinda suck up the place. And when that cold food hits your table, you'll know that you done messed up dawg.

Daniel T.

Yelp
A hidden delight in plain sight. A small menu with big taste. Small intimate indoor dining experience, outdoor seating available that peeks at St. John's River.

Sean M.

Yelp
Yes! This is what I'm talking about! I've wanted to try this place for a while, and I'm so happy I finally did. Comfortable atmosphere, super friendly staff and the food...damn good. My wife and I got the chorizo, brisket and carnitas tacos and shared the chips and Brie queso. Yes, BRIE QUESO. I'll definitely come back here. Everything was great.

Rebecca N.

Yelp
I came here a while back and wrote the review on a wrong business and quickly deleted the review and I was so embarrassed by my mistake. I have not had time go back an rewrite my review. I really wanted to like this place and I will give them another try. But, I bought some special taco (surf & turf)and I could not eat it. I also bought a General Tao's taco(it was spicy hot) and goodies to share with Ernie when I got home. I will not make my total review on one visit. I will definitely visit again a time or two. Then I re-write my review, hopefully in a more positive way. With the Corona Pandemic-it was go in and order, then wait curbside. They brought it out to me. I look forward to my next visit and I know it will be a better outcome. I do think they are a little high in $$, price wise as well.

Yelp
There are so many things that I adore about Corner Taco -- the flavorful salsa, the friendly staff, the daily specials, the cute outdoor seating... I could go on and on. I started visiting this "semi-swanky" taco shop after getting a job nearby in Historic Five Points. I've been able to explore the menu and try some things out and I have yet to be disappointed! Do not miss out on the house-made salsa because it's got the perfect amount of spice and flavor for most everyone's palate. Guacamole and Queso are also offered here (of course!) and are equally as delicious. The guac always comes out super fresh and tasty which is why it's one of my go-to midday snacks! As far as their entrees I have to say CHECK THE SPECIALS BOARD! They come up with all sorts of delicious things like roasted veggie tacos, surf & turf quesadillas, brisket tacos and much much more and it changes on the daily. Anything on their regular menu is going to be great also, especially anything with their house made corn tortillas. Yum! $3 draft beers and other thirst quenchers are available like Topo Chico & Mexican Coca-Cola. If you haven't stopped in yet, you must!! Big thanks to Christine, Courtney and the rest of the amazing crew here at Corner Taco for always taking great care of me.

Nicole H.

Yelp
Super glad this place closed. They were great when they had the amazing tortilla maker that only Disney Epcot had. When the woman manager left with that it seemed like all the flavor and quality this place had left too. So glad it's closed. The last time I ordered my taco shells were covered with mold and no one really seemed to care. I would probably not renew the lease too if I knew I was serving mold.

Darren H.

Yelp
Had to order my own food on a self service screen and all the tacos tasted the same and consisted of the same ingredients cabbage, cilantro, and siracha.

Cesar G.

Yelp
We were pressed for time so we needed a place for a quick bite to eat. We still wanted to try something new so we decided to give Corner Taco a try. We had to park a block away across the street as it was about 7:45 pm on a Friday night in Five Points (so parking was limited). When we entered the restaurant there were open tables and no wait. There were many taco options on the menu and we selected the following: Blackened Mahi Fillet Taco 24 Hour Brisket Taco 24 Hour Carnitas Taco Sour Cherry Tenderloin Asada Taco Southern Fried Catfish Taco You have the option of corn or flour tortillas. My favorite were the Brisket and Mahi Tacos. The Brisket was flavortender and juicy and the Mahi Tacos tasted fresh. The Carnitas tacos were a little salty for me. The tacos all came with cabbage, cilantro and lime. For $.75 extra you can add Queso Fresco. There are also 3 homemade sauces (Homemade Sauces (Tropical Jalepeno, Housemade Sriracha, Sweet Chili Lemon) for you to try at the condiment station. I liked the Tropical Jalepeno and the Sweet Chili Lemon. The Sriracha was a little weak for me but maybe because I put Traditional Sriracha on everything :) The tacos are small but the prices are economical with the tacos ranging from $3.25 - $4.95. Tip: If you are hungry order 3 tacos and if you are very hungry spring for the chips and salsa/guacamole or other sides.

Yelp
Was looking for a cute hole in the wall place to eat with my boyfriend while in the Riverside area and stumbled across this place. The food was AMAZING but what was even better was the sauce! They have hand crafted sauces and let me just say they're all to die for, I would dip everything I ate in that sauce! HAHA! The service was also amazing! There was only 3 people working it looked like but they kept that place in tip top shape. We sat at the bar area and the cashier/main server named Lilly was so sweet and took great care of us. She let us try all the sauces and gave us recommendations for our next visit. I will definitely be back and I can't wait to bring more people with me! 10/10 recommend!

John C.

Yelp
Great customer service, wide range of delicious menu items. Tacos range from $3-4.50. They also serve seasonal specials on certain days of the week. I'm most excited about their 24-hour brisket taco.

Chelsea R.

Yelp
We walked in and the girl at the front was so inviting. Saying "have you eaten here before?" And helping to guide us through their menu. We started with the Three-Way dip. They give you plenty of chips to go with your three sauces. We got guacamole, a smokey salsa and a cheese sauce. The chips were great! Lightly fried with the perfect amount of what tasted like good quality salt added. I honestly could have just eaten those without the sauces. haha. What intrigued us the mosh on this dish was the Brie queso which was delicious! First time in a long time we actually liked the cheese dip. I ended up getting four different kinds of tacos. The 24hr carnita-fried chicken-General Tao-and mahi. In all honesty my tacos were Meh. Ive definitely had better ones. Nothing terribly fancy to them. My husband got their special for the day which was the surf N turf quesadilla. THAT. Wow. THAT. What? I was EXTRA disappointed with my tacos after trying his! THATS what they should be highlighting on their menu. Both meats inside tasted so fresh and delicious. And the quesadilla was filled perfectly. This quesadilla definitely saved the experience. I will go back again NOT for their tacos, but to try more of their quesadillas!

Tee N.

Yelp
It was a Tuesday. I needed tacos. I was in 5 Points. Bam! Corner Taco. As a basic millennial, I thrive to live my best life through bottomless mimosas and tacos on Tuesdays. I was invited to wet my whistle at a bar around the corner, got hungry so I decided to stop in for some bites. My friend and I got 6 tacos to share (General, buttermilk, carnitas, brisket, Mahi and jerk chicken) and a pitcher of Copperhead. The lady with the biggest smile behind the counter let me try a few beers before I settled on the Copperhead. She exudes southern hospitality. You go, mama! I absolutely love the spices and tenderness of all the meat. We got our tacos on corn which I wasn't the biggest fan of due to it being a bit gritty. There were three sauces for you to have on your tacos at the condiment counter. I loved all three! It took all of me not to hustle some of it out of there. Ambience is super laid back. Dim but clear lighting. Small details like fresh floral on the table, crayons for you to draw on their craft paper and cute tea lights make this place an ideal low key date night.

Kimberly L.

Yelp
The most amazing carnita taco I ever had.. ask for the tropical sauce to put on it!! It's amazing!! With a nice draft beer by the window or outside on a nice day!!! This place is top notch. On of my favorite go to's when we care downtown!!! Love you guys!!! Xxoo

Thea Z.

Yelp
What a fabulous place! I sincerely wish it was located closer to where I live as I would frequent Corner Taco regularly. I received some of THE BEST service I have ever gotten at a restaurant and enjoyed some tasty food in a comfortable and welcoming space. In fact, stop reading this review and get there right now! The woman who took care of us not only knows the menu inside and out and took time to learn about my friend and I's likes and preferences to help design an order that was perfect for our tastebuds and bellies. We landed on a quesadilla with carnitas and sweet corn puree (pure heaven), a large order of guac, and a taco for each one of us. We polished off every morsel of food and really enjoy every bite. Both the woman who helped us order and the other one who was managing the space took great care of us and genuinely checked in on us. My only dig, which is really minimal, is that the homemade sauces lacked depth in flavor. I was hoping for more bold flavors, but they ended up being more of a leave it item for me rather than take it. Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Corner Taco and will 100% revisit the next time I am in town! Thank you for the lovely experience.

Elizabeth C.

Yelp
You had me at Gluten Free fried Cod Taco. It had an amazing tropical Salsa. Soooo good. Honestly, Carnitas and Jerk tacos were just OK. A little dry and the sauce needs some flavor. But all in all- great location, great vibe, good food and great waitstaff. Looking forward to trying more!

Jamie W.

Yelp
Have wanted to try this spot many times, but just never seemed to be in the area without other eating plans. Finally made it, and so glad we did. We started our meal with queso and chips. I must say I was a bit disappointed in the tiny container of queso you get. It really didn't seem enough to share much. Each of us ordered 2 tacos. My daughter and I each had a General Tso Chicken taco. We had asked for suggestions and this one was not only recommended by the person at the cash register, but also by a customer eating at the bar. I had the pork carnitas as my second. The General Tso was so good. Just enough tang and spice to make it interesting. The pork was juicy and quite flavorful. My daughter had the fish taco as her second taco and said it was cooked perfectly and quite good. They had many taco choices that sound great and will definitely head back to try out a few others.

Eric R.

Yelp
Great place to eat and have a beer. $3 craft pints! Tacos are just the right size and full of flavor. Staff very friendly

Just T.

Yelp
Pretty awesome place! The cheese dip was THE BOMB!!!! It's made with Brie and I would have eaten it all day! Guacamole was decent and flavorful! The service was great! Some of the tacos were okay, I went today with healthier option but I wanted the fried catfish and fried chicken because the pictures looked amazing! Loved the location as well! Also CHEAP drinks!!!

Lisa J.

Yelp
Friendly staff and amazing food! Highly recommend for a quick dinner or a quiet date night.

Terri M.

Yelp
After 25 minutes of waiting Katelyn gave our food to someone else. Then when I asked for my money back, the girl asked if we wanted it to go....Um no I don't want your food that was set in front of other people for them to breathe on right now. Poor service. Small room and can't remember who gets what when there are numbers you assign to help you. Not going back! And whoa the response I just got from the owner. Sir, (Chris), your restaurant tables were not full when we got there. I don't review restaurants very often only when something is badly wrong and you can also see that if you look again. I've made how many reviews on here? 7 and they all aren't bad so don't act like I'm such a bad person. Isn't that how you try to turn things around. But if that's what makes you happy and how you conduct business then I'm fine with that too. This whole world is short staffed. And I have a lot of patience. We watched her give our chips to the couple at that table and didn't jump up mad acting all crazy like you're acting like we did. We didn't ask for our money back until she gave our food to them. Also know I didn't follow behind her demanding my money, I walked up there to get it and we had to wait to get that back! So when you want to act like everyone is bad in this world think again. I won't be back here don't worry.

Gary S.

Yelp
I decided to try this place based on the Yelp reviews. It wasn't too far from my hotel, so I decided to head on over. It's NOT traditional Mexican food by any stretch of the imagination. It's a small casual place. The staff was kinda friendly and helpful as I tried to decide on what to get. I ordered a Mahi taco, a carnitas taco, a jerk chicken taco, and a brisket taco. I don't usually do fish, but the cashier said it was good. I like everything spicy, but apparently most of what they have is not too spicy, or at least that's what I was told. The order didn't take too long to come out. The cashier brought out the tacos on little cardboard food tray. It fit 4 tacos perfectly. These are not the small street tacos, these are the regular taco sized tortillas. I realized, too late, that I really could have been good with only 3 tacos...but then I would have had to decide what not to get. Ok, that wouldnt have been good. I asked for the tacos to be on corn tortillas, she told me that I could decide which I preferred. The tacos looked really good. The tortillas were sturdy and held everything together. It was kind of dark in the restaurant (or maybe my eyes are getting bad), so the only way I could which taco was which was by differentiating the light meat from the dark. I then had to narrow them down by flavor and texture. It wasn't as complicated as I'm making it out to be. I started from the one closest to me and worked my way through the plate. Each of the tacos had a mix of cabbage, onion, cilantro (I think it was more for decoration - but I ate it) and hot sauce. I believe the sauce they put on the tacos was their habanero sauce. The tacos were fresh and hot. The MahiMahi was the first taco and it was delicious. The fish was moist and flaky. The second one was the brisket taco (I think - memory's getting bad too). The flavor of the brisket was very good. A bit Smokey and a bit sweet. The third was the jerk chicken. There was no mistaking the jerk flavors of the jerk chicken taco. The last one was, obviously, the carnitas. Each of the tacos were very good. They all had the same toppings on them (see above). The cabbage crisp and fresh the sauce was very flavorful and had that distinctive habanero orange color and a mildly spicy flavor. Like I mentioned, NOT traditional Mexican, but still what I ate was really good. Ill definitely come back if I'm in the area. OHHHHH!!! I almost forgot the downside to this place!!!! NO DIET COKE!! I almost walked out, but I was committed at that point - I'd still go back.

Claudia L.

Yelp
It is more than a restaurant, it's a direct reflection on the community. It looks, smells and tastes like Riverside. Thank you for always leading with kindness and providing delicious food at a reasonable price. Xoxo Claudia

Yelp
So happy we found this spot on yelp while passing through JAX! I walked in to grab a paper menu and was captured by the great energy the staff was putting out. After being walked through the menu, I ordered chips and guacamole, the tenderloin burrito for my partner and a shrimp taco as well as the special of the day, the surf and turf taco. When I mentioned we would be sitting outside due to traveling with our doggies, the staff instantly hooked us up with a water bowl and treats for the pups All the food was extremely flavorful and I was beyond impressed when we were informed that the tortillas are made fresh every morning.

Anita S.

Yelp
I've visited Corner Taco a few times, but finally reviewing it. In truth, I wanted to go to Hawkers instead, but my 15 year old won out. We each chose two tacos from the menu (which were awkwardly placed where you can't get to them if anyone else is ordering) as well as guacamole and chips. The largest wall of the restaurant used to be a chalkboard menu that was easy to read, but it's now just painted over and more boring inside. They have a few beer selections, plus glass bottles of Coke which is nice. My son of course ordered a coke, a rare treat being in glass. We ordered at the counter-- a carnitas Taco, Fried Chicken Taco, Carne Asada Taco and Chicken Taco plus the chips and guacamole, and then sat nearby to wait the 8 mins or so for takeout. Note that you can also make any Taco into a tostado for an We liked all of the tacos, but the fried chicken and the Carne Asada were our favorites. They taste fresh and high end, matching up with their "semi-swanky" theme. The chips were fresh and salty, but the guacamole was so salty that it was inedible. And I love salt. So that was quite disappointing. Overall, the $25 feels a bit high for what we got (especially with the guacamole inedible) but the flavors are good and we'll be back.

John R.

Yelp
I hate to do this because I know so many people Love Corner Taco! Unfortunately, my experiences have only been meh. Nothing bad - just nothing fantastic. For a chef-driven brick & mortar - there are lots of others that do tacos better! I love reading their Facebook page & seeing all of Chef's creations - but it may be time to share them with the public and not just the family! I've made several stops and had a variety of tacos - mine were all Ok (the 24hr brisket was particularly dry & bland - maybe 24 hours was too long?). I do enjoy their tortillas as they hold up to a good bite without falling apart. I like the interior - gives the feeling of their Airstream roots (I'm an Airstream fan). The staff at the counter was full of smiles and orders are served up quickly.

Amanda W.

Yelp
Excellent tacos! Excellent gentleman taking our order behind the counter. Cool vibes all around :)

Yelp
Walked to this cozy little restaurant from the Cummer museum. I love trying new taco places, especially when it has an eclectic menu. I ordered the asparagus taco and the blackened mahi taco. Both tacos were delicious! Asparagus was perfectly cooked and tasty for a taco. I can't go wrong with any type of fish taco. I could've eaten more after I saw other highlighted menu items on yelp but I'll save it for next time, since we'll definitely go back!

Yelp
Corner Taco is my go-to in Jax for delicious tacos, burritos & fried yucca. My favorites are the 24-Hour Brisket Taco and the 24-Hour Carnitas Taco and the Sour Cherry Tenderloin Burrito, always with a side of Yucca Fries. To make everything even more special, their house made sauces are so good!

Yelp
Have been coming here for years and love it. I have celiac disease and they have been super accommodating to my allergies. The yucca fries are amazing!

Yelp
I would definitely consider this place a tapas Mexican. The meat wasn't seasoned enough for my taste buds. Everything required me adding salt for taste. The service was great and the workers were very attentive.

Yelp
The food was nice but not up to their normal 5-star quality. Plenty meat and well seasoned but almost no fixens like cabbage. A taco isn't just meat...but a blend of ingredients that missed the mark tonight. The smoky salsa is really good but tonight it had half a jalapeno in it, meaning someone missed blending it properly. Corner Taco is normally a 5 star with good food, quickly, and at a fair price. I do miss the old 80's alternative music that use to play over the speakers.

Yelp
I have to be honest it's just why I'm a part of yelp. My criticism should be taken constructively if any staff happens to read this. Came here on Yelp's 30% restaurant week and decided to give it a go. Location- riverside on 818 post street. Interior and vibe- quaint small and casual. A bit eclectic with some Mexican decor. Not fancy at all but social and fun. Definitely laid back. Food- I ordered the shrimp taco and quest chips while my mom had the beef taco. The shrimp taco I ordered was the flour shell and it was a bit small. The taste wasn't bad but they could improve by a bigger size being the price it was and not just put red cabbage shreds and a string of parsley on. I don't know if that's how they present the food with that as a signature gesture but I had to pick it off. If they want to put parsley they should mince it. It looks lazy and I'm sure most people pick at it because you can't chew it easy. It's like putting a string of hair in someone's food. Otherwise it would have been good if it was minced, more variety of vegetables added to it and bigger. The nacho queso dip was pretty decent. It would be nice if they had white cheese but they didn't. At least that's what they told us. The beef taco, again as I said earlier with this first taco. It should be a bit bigger, more ingredients not just red cabbage and parsley and please chop the parsley. Also, the napkins and sauces were at the very back behind the register. They should put all of that at each table for the customers convenience. Otherwise everything else would've been good.

Yelp
Thought I would try something new on my business trip. Food was AMAZING. Fresh with a great flavor! Loved the salsa and brisket tacos. Will be a repeat customer any time I'm in Jacksonville! Delicious!

Yelp
Best taco in 5 points. That general Tso taco is out of this world. The locals know. :)

Yelp
It has been a couple of years since I've been here and wow, a lot has changed... and not in a good way. Their tacos appear to have shrunk and the side orders are about half the size they used to be. Not sure what happened to this place, it was my go to for vegetarian and vegan tacos. They don't even seem to have their signature fresh thyme vinaigrette! They stuff was the perfect complement to the amazing stacked "5-points" vegan taco, but I guess that is a thing of the past. Such a shame. Another one bites the dust for quality in Riverside.

Yelp
They are still a good spot for more non traditional tacos. The general tso sauce is way too sweet for me still and the only thing I didn't like so far. It's definitely not spicy. The tacos my friends and/ or I haven't liked are the general tso chicken taco, the shrimp taco (bland) and the special veggie taco (very bland since they only put bell pepper and shallots on it). I wouldn't spend any money on the guacamole either. It's just smashed avocado, lime and a dash of salt. Very bland.

Yelp
This place has been a staple in my Jax Must Haves since 2016! Highly recommend the General Tso Tacos and Surf and Turf along with the Chips and Guac. I recommend getting at least 2-3 tacos since they are street size but insanely delicious.

Yelp
We saw great reviews and decided to give it a try. After ordering, they immediately brought our chips, hummus, and queso over to our table and brought our tacos and quesadillas in less than five minutes. Most impressive of all was that my super picky boyfriend ordered a cheese quesadilla stuffed with general Tsos chicken and loved every bite.

Yelp
Walked in for a small date with my partner just grabbing a couple of tacos before going for a walk had the brisket and shrimp taco both packed with amazing flavor and the service was wonderful this will be my taco place moving onwards

Yelp
Picked up lunch for the office, all of who are really picky eaters, and this place was a hit! They have a really easy online ordering system with a quick and efficient pick-up process which was already a plus when ordering for a group of people. It was awesome that everyone could just order online and pick what they wanted and pay individually without having any type of confusion. I had the General Tso's Chicken Tacos and the Dijon Buttermilk Fried Chicken Tacos. Both tasted so crispy and well seasoned that I wish I could eat another 10! The flour tortilla tastes ridiculously fresh and the shredded cabbage and cilantro topping was light in comparison to the fried toppings. It was a good compliment without overwhelming the flavor like a lot of taco toppings. I'm looking forward to trying their other interesting flavored tacos!
