12 Adventurous First Date Restaurants in Boston | Eater Boston

"Simple in concept but generally unwieldy in practice, pasties on the menu at Cornish Pasty Co. are beasts (delicious ones) to tackle on a first date. The brave can eat these handheld meals as such, or opt for knife and fork. Try the classic bangers and mash pasty or the meatball version, and get one of the restaurant’s rotating cocktails while you’re at it — perhaps with a coquito (a combination of Fireball, white rum, creme de cocoa, RumChata, and heavy cream). There’s good beer to be had here as well." - Dana Hatic

Cornish Pasty is always a solid pick with its cool, dark atmosphere and unique bar and tables. The service was excellent and super attentive, though I was bummed they were out of the Pilgrim pasty when I went. Even though some items sell out and food can take a bit during busy times, it’s still worth checking out my kids and I enjoyed our pasties, even if it had a little too much jelly.

Ordered the oggie pasty and the cubano pasty, both were stuffed with fillings and had flavorful sauces that came with them. The chips (fries) were fresh and slightly crunchy. It was pretty busy but service was quick! Lots of seating available.

We were so excited to see a restaurant serving British pasties. It reminded us of our time spent in Britain. Now to the food....we chose two non-traditional versions: Veggie Mexican and Greek Chicken Pasty. The dough was flakey, each filled with lots of ingredients. They were absolutely delicious. Service was quick for our late night meal. Please expand to Seattle : )

Enjoyable, a hearty gathering place for large or small groups. Patio seating or huge interior seating. Walk in, be welcomed, and sit anywhere. Servers are attentive, and the food arrives quickly. The Vegan Oggie was great comfort food, grounding with root vegetables with the contrast of mushrooms. The flavors were layered and a slight depth from white or black pepper. Since I don't use salt much, a tad salty, although for the average human, it's likely just right. The vegetables were soft, well cooked, and steeped in the flavors like a true British stew. The pastry was exceptional. The bottom layer was sturdy yet light, and the top was thinner, crisp and crunchy. The side rib roll added another texture to the pastie. The side steak sauce is house made. It was tasty, tangy - if that's what you like. Ketchup was also a side. It's a nice option for those who enjoy a different experience with each bite. I enjoyed my pastie without condiments. 1 pastie is quite filling. The baked potatoes were tasty, next time I'd ask them to hold the salt. That's me. I absolutely love ❤️ the Vegan offerings. The servers will look up which ones made it to the oven. FYI the Vindaloo is super hot which is great if you love extra spicy. Lovely space, good music, and I imagine it's a jamming space when it ges busy. Bon Apetit!

My husband's family is from England, very much reminds you of a local pub. The food was absolutely delicious! The chocolate bread pudding was amazing. You will want to share it. We took our friends and they really enjoyed it as well. We hadn't been for a long time, so we were excited to return. Definitely be back soon!

They were out of 4 different things I asked for, and it was incredibly hot. I know, it's AZ, but it is just too hot in this restaurant. Wear something cool! The thing I did finally order was delicious and our server handled my disappointment very professionally, she was a gem. Just wanted to offer my honest thoughts. Come to think of it, all of the AZ Cornish Pasty locations are too hot.

The pasties here were mind-blowing, featuring a wide range of amazing fillings for every taste! Each bite was a satisfaction 😋 Although the ambiance is a bit dark and oldie, it contributes to the great vibes and cozy atmosphere of the place, a perfect spot for a casual meal with friends or family. The menu offers plenty of options, ensuring that there's something for everyone, whether you're a meat lover, vegetarian, or looking for something sweet. The staff were incredibly great – friendly, attentive, and quick to offer recommendation. If you're in Mesa and looking for a nice, different meal, Cornish Pasty is a must-visit.

We love you Cornish Pasty!! Cornish Pasty is mine and my boyfriend's place = ) We absolutely love their food It doesn't matter what location we go to, the food is always fresh tasting and uh-mazing! I love that they have vegan options too cuz I don't eat meat as often as he does so it allows us both to enjoy this delicious food together! We also really enjoy the atmosphere and decor of every location we've been to The only downfall we've had is that sometimes the service has been slow because people seem to be covering a lot of space and people but it has just allowed us to spend more time together!
