The 12 Best Affordable Restaurants in Phoenix, Arizona | Eater Phoenix

"English comfort food isn’t easy to come by in Phoenix, but Cornish Pasty Co offers a reliable option. At Cornish Pasty, patrons have the chance to try a folded pastry with a choice of filling — usually meats, vegetables, and cheeses — that’s fit for a miner’s appetite. One regular’s favorite is the Oggie, a pasty filled with steak, potatoes, onions, and served with ketchup or gravy. There are 15 options for vegetarians and vegans. Try the vegetarian chicken tikka masala pasty with marinated plant-based chicken, curry sauce, and yogurt. A pasty and a soda cost less than $20." - McConnell Quinn

The Best Late-Night Phoenix Eats | Eater Phoenix

"This popular loosely-metal-themed English pub has time-honored pub dishes like Scotch eggs, chicken liver pâté, and shepherd’s pie, but the true star of the show, as the name suggests, is the Cornish pasty. The English comfort food dish gets an update here, where an extensive menu of vegetarian, meat-filled, and constantly rotating pasties with funky riffs on sandwiches like a Cubano, reuben, and French dip. Cornish Pasty is open until 1 a.m. Monday through Wednesday and 2 a.m. Thursday through Sunday." - McConnell Quinn

This is a really unique place that I went to because of reviews. I loved it. Our server was great. He was helpful and attentive even though they were busy. I got the pork and apple pasty, my first pasty ever. I should have taken some pics of the atmosphere inside, it's lively and a really positive "vibe". Reasonable prices, I was there for supper.

The Oogie is absolutely delicious. The red wine gravy is beefy and the balance was wonderful. The curried potatoes weren't great. But I will try something else next time. The service was quick and the server was kind and helpful. Will definitely be back!

Averaging it out to 4 stars. The beer selection and food options were decent. Really enjoyed the papago blueberry wheat. For food, much of the menu items were out. Not sure what that's about but it seems that the pasties are sourced from elsewhere and they just warm it up for you at the location. I got the Reuben pasty. It was just okay to me. I was not a fan of of the chunky meat. Some of the meat was cubed and it didn't give a pleasant bite for a Reuben. Taste wise was fine. Mine was also lukewarm to cold in the middle. The ambiance and service was solid. Restrooms need some attention.

This review bums me out. Cornish Pasty is one of my FAVORITE restaurants! I’ve been many times to many of their locations, but I hadn’t been to this one in years. My husband and I came on a Sunday afternoon. The front desk was empty when we got there - someone begrudgingly came to help us - told us it would be a wait, probably a half hour. The whole interaction was unfriendly, but I guessed maybe they were slammed and understaffed? We gave our name and phone number and decided to stop into another cool spot nearby. After a half hour, we came back and it’s as if they had forgotten about us, others who had been behind us earlier were already seated (we were never texted) the same person as before said there were some tables available but they weren’t clean yet…but we could sit there if we wanted. We said no problem, went over to the dirty tables, cleared the plates and glasses ourselves, waited for them to come wipe it down, they never did. We got our garlic fries (top tier), but they were out of the one thing I came here for, The Pilgrim! Devastating! I regrouped and asked the waitress what she recommended, again, she seemingly answered me begrudgingly, but I decided to go with one of the options she mentioned, the Hatch Chili Burger…this was the only saving grace of the whole experience. It was amazing! I finished the entire pasty. I won’t come back to this location again. I have even more recently been to another location and the experience was wonderful.

Sat outside - nice vibe. Bartender and servers work hard and attentive. The menu is definitely creative. Got the veggie Tim’s masala pastry and the tandoori wings. They were ok. Will need to visit again to try other items. Beer selection is solid.

Wow! I've been coming to this location and the Scottsdale location for years. I can't believe I've never left them a review. Anyway, I really enjoy Cornish and their food/beverage offerings. Their places always have great ambiance and are clean. My go-to is the Italian Signature Pasty. So delicious! The layers of pepperoni, salami, capocollo, ham, and fresh mozzarella are perfect. I always get an extra marinara sauce too for dipping. If I'm not getting the Italian, my other favorites include the Meatball, Pesto Chicken, and the Reuben. Honestly, just hard to go wrong with any of them I believe. As for the beverage selection, my go-to here is the Ace Pear Cider. Refreshing and simple. They have a great selection of other beverages though. Lastly, the service is always great. Thank you all! Note: Be advised, the downtown location has some minor construction happening on the first floor but the second floor is still fully open.

Popped in for a dinner after a comedy show and the was vibe was very lively and full of people enjoying their time. The menu is provided on a QR code on the table and will let you know what dishes are available or out of stock. We did get there around 10:30pm so majority of the food options were unavailable. We still enjoyed our meal and the pasties were pretty dense but full of flavor.

My father and I were charmed by Cornish Pasty Co. He had the rueben pasty and I had the balsamic portobello pasty followed by the Banoffee pie. Delicious. So glad we went and us Floridians would gladly return if given the opportunity.
