The Secret Patios Of Seattle

"Cornuto is a Neapolitan pizzeria in Greenwood where it's nice to eat bubbly pies drizzled with chile oil and pop marinated castelvetrano olives on a secluded little back patio that feels like it belongs to a luxury home in Bothell. Soak in the breezy candlelight vibes as you snip a margherita with scissors and clink diner glasses full of middle-tier prosecco." - aimee rizzo, kayla sager riley

Cornuto Pizzeria - Review - Greenwood - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Sometimes, while on a date, you just want pizza chased with a diner glass of middle-tier sparkling wine as you high-five someone rad across the table because they like jigsaw puzzles and Goldfinger’s cover of “99 Red Balloons” too. Cornuto is a great Neapolitan pizzeria in Greenwood where you can eat bubbly pies drizzled with chile oil and pop marinated Castelvetrano olives in your mouth as you sit in the darkness of their narrow space. Plus, they have a charming back patio for the warmer months (you even get a candle back there)." - Aimee Rizzo

I have not been to Italy yet, but it feels like I'll get similar pizza there as well. The pizzas are amazing, with perfect crust, moisture, toppings, and flavor. We tried the margarita, verde, and fungi pizza, and all of them were simply amazing. We also tried the majority of the drinks, and honestly, none of them were disappointing. The servers are friendly and helpful.

Google
We throughly enjoyed the tuna salad - complex ingredients that went really well with the dressing. The fresh burrata is a highlight. The pizza was good - just thought it’s a bit overpriced for the simple pizza.

If you haven't tried Cornuto then you haven't tried one of the best, if not the best, neapolitan pizzerias in Seattle! Everything is spot on and mouthwateringly epic. Our cocktails were scrumptious, the Castelvetrano olives were hot and seasoned perfectly, the Pesto and Goat cheese Ricotta Gnocchi was dangerously tasty and very unique, our Fratelli Di Bufala pizza was epic, and our Mezza Luna Nutella dessert calzone was the perfect finish. And it was only $85 before tip. What the actual heck y'all! We'll be back, often, and I'm yelling at my friends and family to go! Ignore the 1 star reviews, those people don't understand when restaurants close (show up at 9:35pm expecting the kitchen to be open when they close at 10? 😆) or how to give people a freaking break (a slow wait at the front is common for popular places, but maybe they were short staffed that day? Have some grace) This place has never disappointed me or anyone I've recommended it to and it won't disappoint you either. If you can't be patient for good food, then go to Dominos.

Google
Pizza was alright but service was not great. Went in on a Friday night, pretty busy when we put our name down so we waited about 45 min. And that’s fine. But from the point we got sat, no server came to our table of their own accord. We had to flag them to order our food, check on our food, get more water, get a box, check etc. I totally understand that restaurants get busy and have their own operations, but that is still not an excuse to not provide basic service. Any type of warning/notice that it was gonna take an hour would have been appreciated.

Google
Only tried a couple of pizzas this time-a four cheese and a four seasons one. They were good but just very slightly undercooked. Still, they were tasty and the service was good.

Google
Excellent, per usual I asked them to choose a meal for me, and I’d find out what it was when it came out! The carbonara pie and their take on an Old Fashioned! Wonderful, 😘 I’ll be back! Wonderful vibes as well, solid playlist!!

Google
Our friends had told us about this place years ago, and we finally made it there with them! I see what the hype was about, the pizza brought us back to sitting in Rome and enjoying the exact same pizza! Delicious! Perfect crust and toppings!

Google
You will wait for an hour for your $30 personal pizza, and if you sit at a high table you will carry the imprint of those torturous stools home. The pizza itself is tasty, but I would only consider this place for takeout in the future.

Yelp
This will forever be my wife and i's anniversary spot! Absolutely delicious food, and ponderous atmosphere and the most wholesome staff and owners you could ask for :) highly recommend

Yelp
The meatballs were incredible. Omg I wanted more!! Pizza was really good too; I like their thin crust a lot. We also had the anchovies, and a salad. The anchovies were very fresh. Salad was ok, probably should have gone with a classic Caesar salad. The place was really cute, but very dark inside! Had trouble seeing the menu and the bill. Service was excellent, and our cocktails were fantastic. Dessert was tiramisu and it was delicious! Looking forward to going back :)

Yelp
We had gotten there and there was a wait so we just got drinks and walked around for about a half an hour which is what they had expected for us to wait. The place was really nice and the service was really nice and friendly and just the vibes were cool. All the pizza was pretty good, maybe not the best I've had in Seattle but def very very good, the meatballs were good too. We saw they had mimosa cocktails on the menu but we wanted a bottle so they just got us a bottle of Prosecco and brought us some syrup on the side. Awesome spot!

Yelp
Just came for our first time and accidentally ordered the wrong pizza (we meant to get the one with burrata) but were still impressed with the sausage salsiccia calzone (4/5 stars) and the bufallina DOC pizza (5/5 stars). The crusts were thicker than I expected and the marinara on the pizza was phenomenal. $58 for the pizza, calzone, and one $7 beer (before tax and tip).

Yelp
Such a fun and intimate spot for the neighborhood. In the summer, the back patio is perfect for being outdoors. Great place to share pizzas or order your own dish. Went out with the girls and we had great wine selection and the gnocchi was filling and cooked to perfection. Kind and attentive service. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Noah was the best! We got the Lolita and the the Flatliner drinks, they were so tasty. The Pizza's were fire good vibes and great peeps

Yelp
I really enjoyed this respire in a crowded city area. Super cute back patio seating and the i side looks cozy as well. My group shared the burrata and a salad and a couple pizzas. Everything was tasty and the service was attentive without being overbearing. The cocktails and wines were great on a summer evening and I look forward to trying this again!

Yelp
Glad to have had the opportunity to return with friends recently as the dine-in experience far surpassed our prior take-out snafu. Definitely a popular spot, but we didn't have to wait long for a 4-top on a Friday around 8:30pm. Small, dark, and cozy bar gives way to a dim and intimate dining room. High ceilings and close neighbors make this a loud and festive environment. Cocktails were interesting and delicious. I had something mezcal based that I should have paid better attention to so I could remember to order it again. Pizzas are personal-ish sized wood-fired thin-crust and are served with pizza shears so you can cut off the perfect slice. I ordered the Spaccanapoli (Smoked Mozzarella, ricotta, olives, arugula, grana padano) which was quite tasty and provided leftovers for a nice little lunch snack the next day. Servers were all great. Looking forward to coming back again.

Yelp
I love their margarita pizza and lemon ice. What a wonderful combo on a hot summer evening. You definitely should apply their pizza oil to your pie. It's crazy good.

Yelp
Based on food alone, I almost want to give this place 1 star, but the service was good, so that's what saved it. When we got here, the restaurant was basically empty, so we got our pick on where to sit. One room was darker than the other. We chose to sit next to the pizza making area. The height of the booths makes it more private between different parties, but the aisle and next counter over are very close by, so it's kind of tight in the room with the main entrance. We ordered the Quattro Stagioni Pizze because I like having lots of different things on my pizza. Apparently, it was way too much because the top of every slice slid right off. I ended up having to eat with a fork most of the time. Something I've never had offered when eating pizza before was hot oil. I tried some, but it was too spicy for me personally. I can see how people who enjoy spice may enjoy having the hot oil handy. It just didn't help that my pizza was already falling apart with or without the oil. Also, the center and most of the pizza dough was soggy, so I feel like the pizza was a disaster as we dug more into it. On the outside before we started eating, it looked great.

Yelp
Been to cornuto numerous times and it's always amazing! The staff have always been super welcoming, friendly, and attentive. The food is amazing and always of great quality. My favorite items are the appetizers, I always get the burrata with flat bread and the anchovies. For the pizza, the Americana is always a hit, I recently tried the Dante for the first time and it was also incredible. To top it off is the ambience. The pizza kitchen is in the center of the restaurant and it's always great to watch the chefs cook. I highly recommend this restaurant for dine in or takeout!

Yelp
Yes, yes, yes, what a good time this was. They're busy and for good reason. Sitting outside only cost us the quick 5 mins for them to set up the table and get ready for us. Inside walk-up seating on a Friday night at dinner time was only a bit more of a wait, but I'll take outside just about any day on their three (3) patio/deck options. So nice. The host and our server were so great. Charming and attentive, thanks! We made quick decisions, and I'm sure you couldn't go wrong with anything on the menu. Caesar was amazing, and the anchovies almost had a sushi-level quality to them. Super briny and perfect. The buffalo moz classic was amazing. Juicy and bright with delicious cheese and basil. Perfect. The Pesto was also a winner, and I'm usually not a fan of what's usually too greasy pesto as a base. This wasn't the case. It was so flavorful and thick without being greasy. Great veggies. Scissors are cute and help the place stay unpretentious while they clearly care very deeply about serving you up the absolute fanciest pizza around. That crust was also absolutely perfect. Crunchy but chewy, full of flavor. And their wines! They know a good one. I love Barberas and split a half carafe with my date. Our server knew all the fast facts about the women-owned and operated vineyard. Nice! Do yourself a favor: order the gnocchi with gorgonzola sauce. This was without a doubt the showstopper, even for two pizza fiends, the pasta was the winner. Would have ordered another if we hadn't stayed so late already. The brulee on top... whew. Dreaming of that creamy pasta! For dessert, we'd been recommended to try the small (which is already large; large is larger) nutella calzone. The table next to us got it to go (pro tip) but we would have been waiting about 40mins for the oven at that point, so we passed for another time. Had the lemon sorbet instead and it was also delicious. A nice, light end to a happily carb-filled meal. Another pro tip: ask for the chili oil!! And use it liberally!!! We'll be back! Thanks for the great meal

Yelp
Until it is proved to me otherwise, this is the best pizza in North Seattle. My real rating: Food 4.25 Atmosphere 3.25 Service 3 These small wood fired pizzas are so delicious! The place is charming and on a nice day you can try to get a seat on the outside balcony. I have not had a bad pizza here. The crust is charred from the fire, perfectly salty and nice touch of sourdough flavor throughout. The thin layer of sauce is wonderful and aromatic. The toppings are always premium and they have a spicy oil that you can drizzle over your pie. I love this place. My wife and I will go back over and over, every now and then the kid can come too.

Yelp
Fantastic pizza and service. The staff here are top notch. One of our favorite spots to go for a dinner out.

Yelp
It was a beautiful day in Seattle, so we opted to enjoy the weather and sit outside on the back deck. Our party was out numbered by small kids, under the age of 5, but our server and those around us were all very accommodating. We ordered a round of drinks, we were all very happy with our drinks - beers, wine and cocktails. The aperol spritz was pretty small though. Service was great - never had to find our server for drinks or to get food ordered. All important when dining with kids. For food we ordered the burrata and house made rosemary flatbread, salsiccia e rapini pizza, prosciutto pizza, margarita and half cheese and pepperoni. Burr Tara was nice and creamy and went well with the flatbread. The pizza is delicious. Nice thin and crusty crust, and the topping were all very flavorful.

Yelp
Unbelievably delicious food. I have celiac, and therefore cannot eat their wood-fired pizza. But their entree salads are so amazing, that I crave them all the time. My husband loves their pizza (and he's a picky eater). We frequent Cornuto. The owners, bartenders, and servers cannot be beat in this area. Very Italian feel overall. We love that ambiance. And when Enzo is in town, the experience is even further above and beyond! Love those guys and gals. Highly recommend!!

Yelp
Excellent neighborhood hangout. Our experience begins feeling invited with a cozy yet fun environment. The food, service and cleanliness was all on point with little to gripe about. Tucked into a little nook in south greenwood, it's a great addition to an already awesome neighborhood. Get there on a date night!
google avatar

Yelp
Friendly, knowledgeable bartender Noah suggested the two best (wood fired stone oven) pizzas in their focused menu. Cozy, casual and even romantic setting adds to the excellent experience.
google avatar

Yelp
Scrumptious. Went for friend date, great spot to be sat with someone you love and pick out meals to share and gossip over. Servers were so helpful and spunky, lovely folks. Started with flatliners - yep yep yep what a perfect espresso martini. Got the MEATBALLS and arugula salad to start. Capitalized meatballs because they deserve it. Split a pizza with sausage, peps, roasted onion, and cheeses (forgetting name now) but added mushrooms mmmm. Also split pesto gnocchi my lord it was so good. Big fat gnocchi balls unf.
google avatar

Katie B.

Yelp
We have been coming here for years and I can say hands down it's the best Italian-style pizza place in Seattle! If it's your first time in, I recommend trying the Bufalina D.O.C pizza and saving room for their incredible tiramisu. Drinks are also always top-notch!
google avatar

Ashley H.

Yelp
One of my favorite small pizza restaurants. Their ingredients are always fresh and the pizzas always come out well. One of my favorite things to add is the chili oil that I believe they make in house. Adds an amazing spice to an already good pizza I typically get the verde but many of my friends have gotten the SALSICCIA which is also a fan favorite if you like pepperoni and sausage on your pizza Some additional favorites is the gnocchi with Gorgonzola cheese (sadly the last time I got it the pillows were a little tough), the burrata, Caesar salad and of course finish off with their tiramisu. The only let down is the price, it might be spending if you get too many items or are a big eater. So I typically pic a couple but not all my favorites at once
google avatar

Jessica L.

Yelp
These stars are mostly for the service, which was friendly and quick when I grabbed an order for takeout on a rainy evening. The pizza is just okay. Nothing special. I had high hopes because I love Via Tribunali (Cornuto is by the same people).

Nik H.

Yelp
Excellent Neapolitan pizza. Chewy crust, great drinks & excellent service! The americano is me and my son's fav!

Yelp
Loved the espresso martini and pesto gnocchi! Music was a little loud during dinner. Servers were nice.

Yelp
Sit at the bar and enjoy friendly conv w the regulars and the most charming, friendly bartender Noah who makes a great old fashioned and gives good tips on ordering. Pizza crust has perfect char and toppings are fresh and delicious. Caesar salad w anchovies excellent but really every item that went by looked excellent including an amazing calzone. I try not to eat too much bread. Couldn't stop eating the crust and forced myself to save a piece for plane ride home. Can't wait to return when I'm in Seattle again.

Yelp
Dante pizza was rly good. Idk why the lettuce was so big but it was a good experience
google avatar

Yelp
The best pizza place in Seattle! Service is awesome, pizza is great. Even if you want to snag a cocktail it's still a great spot. Pesto gnocchi is also fire!
google avatar

Yelp
My favorite pizza place in seattle - Curnuto!! Freshly homemade Neapolitan style pizza with amazing choices of appetizers and dessert as well! A great place for family and friends to hangout! Highly recommend to get their chili oil on the side as well!
google avatar

Iambedwell ..

Yelp
Probably our favorite Neapolitan style pizza joint in town. Crispy bubble crust and chewy center delivered with quality ingredients. Always a chill vibe. Darker ambiance once the sun goes down with attentive service and vibe worthy music that doesn't bore.

Yelp
My partner and I came to Cornuto right after a trip to the south of France -- we were craving the Sicilian pizzas we were eating! Since that trip, we have been back 5 times! This is by-far my favorite restaurant in all of Greenwood. To start off, the cocktails are handcrafted so uniquely and are yummy. The pizzas are delicious (the absolute best we have had in Seattle.. and we have tried a lot of places). Also, the appetizers (salads, warm olives, etc.) are all so high quality. They do not skimp on ingredients on their smaller dishes. Their less-known items like their gnocchi are also incredible. This place is great for date night or even just going out with friends. I also have to mention Noah -- one of the excellent staff at Cornuto -- is so helpful. He makes the best drinks, gives out excellent food advice, and also is just awesome. I could not vouch for this place more. If you love high quality Italian food and a super good vibe, come here.
google avatar

Kumin I.

Yelp
Cornuto Pizza is very similar style to Lupo's but Waaaay better where you get that classic Neapolitan Pizza experience in Seattle with that chewy and springy crust.
google avatar

Jay H.

Yelp
Creative pizzas served at the table with a kitchen scissors given how thin their Neapolitan style pizza are. Came here with my daughter who had been here with her fiance multiple times. They have a smallish selection of Italian wine by the glass - nothing special.

Paul L.

Yelp
The food was bland and the portions are small compared to the price. The service was remarkably slow and inefficient.
google avatar

Mariah C.

Yelp
Our favorite pizza place in Seattle! The pizza is so good and the atmosphere is so cozy and warm. Super friendly staff as well!

Jenna M.

Yelp
Great pizza and great service!! The burata was AMAZING especially with the focaccia bread, so don't pass that up! The cocktail menu was impressive, I will need to come back and try them!
google avatar

Chris L.

Yelp
Overall a 5. Service was excellent, cocktails were excellent. Ambiance was good inside and outside. They are a relatively small restaurant that does not take reservations, so factor that into your arrival time. Food was a 4 out of 5...it was good, just missing some flavor for a full 5 star rating (food specifically).
google avatar

Nao V.

Yelp
I love how charming this restaurant is!! The pizza was delicious! The dough had just the right amount of char and chew. The gnocchi was so deceptively light and melt in your mouth soft. And the dessert was warm and with the right amount of bite (the small is huge btw). I will definitely be coming again!
google avatar

Brian H.

Yelp
Super good sized individual pizzas that's are flavorful and do not need salt like most Neapolitan pizzas in seattle . The gnocchi was a very nice surprise. The sauce was very fresh and basic. The drinks were well thought out and the service was good. We love Independent Pizza, Delancy and now Corunuto. All are different in their own way and the nice thing is Cornuto is walking distance
google avatar

Christine S.

Yelp
My friend highly recommended this pizza place . My parents are in town visiting for a couple weeks so we decided to check out your restaurant and were really excited about trying it. When we arrived the ambience and menu looked great. We requested to sit outside as we had a dog with us. The female Hostess that greeted us was really nice and said she would check in the back to get an idea how long the wait would be. She returned and explained that it should be about 30 minutes. She asked me to write down my name and number and said that we could walk around and that they would call me when a table was available. We returned after 40 minutes as we did not receive a phone call. A young male hostess was at the front and said "Oh it's going to be 20 minutes longer". I noticed that our name was the only one left on list and we had seen many people go into the restaurant and be sat down. No other names had been added after ours. After I expressed my concern he admitted that we were overlooked but did not express any concern or apologize and said it's just going to be another 20 minutes at least. I told him to cross our names off the list and that we would go somewhere else. We then walked down to "The Ridge" and were sat down immediately. We had great Pizza , appetizers and excellent service. We are all human and all make mistakes but it's really about how we recover from them. The hostess should have admitted they made an error, apologize, offer to sit us down immediately some where, or comp us a drink or appetizer for our trouble. It was such a disappointing experience .
google avatar

Andrew W.

Yelp
The Dante pizza was perfect. Cornuto is definitely the best pizzeria in the Phinney Ridge neighborhood and the surrounding ones too for that matter. My wife and I have enjoyed eating their pizzas for the last 5 years; we strongly recommend trying them out!
google avatar

Mitchell V.

Yelp
If you're looking for that traditional wood fire Neapolitan pizza experience, you've found it. The crust is crispy on the edges, pockets of char and pillow on the inside. The toppings range from basic to seasonal, whatever floats your boat. Just a testament, I work in tourism and have many Italian colleagues. They're usually in town once a year and one visit, they were craving Italian style pizza. They ended up at Cornuto and guess what? They raved how it tastes just like back home.
google avatar

Emily M.

Yelp
We were next door at Chez Phinney for a glass of wine and decided on a whim to order from here. I'm sorry to say that the crust on our pizzas was pale, underbaked, and overly tough, and the toppings managed to be both overly salty and not very flavorful. Was hoping that this might be a place we could put into our regular pizza rotation, but we will be sticking with Delancey.
google avatar

Lindsey C.

Yelp
After many taste tests we have determined Cornuto is our favorite Seattle pizza. We are never disappointed, and the pizza is truly amazing. We highly recommend a visit to this place!
google avatar

Manda K.

Yelp
This is my go to pizza place for sure! I always recommend it to all my friends and am super happy it's close to me. I always order the americano and the ricotta gnocchi. My favs! I love it here cause it's always consistent and Giancarlo is always so sweet and always provides the best customer service and drinks are always delicious and on point!
google avatar

Tori Z.

Yelp
I'll admit it, if I didn't live around here I probably never would have found this place or come here, but it is awesome! Just a short walk from Greenlake, Cornuto is a stellar restaurant in Phinney Ridge. Aside from the pizza, they have an awesome bar. I love to come here late in the evenings because there is a bartender who makes a killer Amaretto Sour. I have also tried a few of their drink specials, and they never fail to be delicious. The wood fired pizza is also pretty good, if you're not too hungry a single pizza is enough to feed 2 people. I would definitely recommend this as a top restaurant and bar in the area that is decently priced too!

Justine M.

Yelp
Best pizza ever great ambiance. The staff was super nice and gave great recommendations when asked.
google avatar

Christina R.

Yelp
Delicious pizza (as well as pretty much everything on their menu - especially the Gorgonzola gnocchi, but I come for the pizza). On top of the great food, the brothers who own Cornuto take thoughtful care in making those who drink and dine here feel welcome and well taken care of from the dishes offered, to the cocktails crafted and wine selected, to the ambiance provided. I have eaten here countless times (and it's often a go-to to take out of town guests) and also hosted a dinner for fifteen guests for my birthday. From small gatherings to larger parties, this is an excellent place that makes any evening feel special. Tip: Favorite spot to eat/drink in the winter is the bar, favorite spot to eat/drink in the summer is the back patio which boasts sunshine, balmy breezes, and beautiful hand crafted benches and tables (again, not to mention the delicious food).
google avatar

Seattle M.

Yelp
The pizza here is Neapolitan style, similar to Tutta Bella or Via Trublinali. I went here on an afternoon for the happy hour, but after reading the reviews about how small the hh pizza was and finding that it was only 6$ off the list price, it would make it $11 for a 9" pizza, wow. The full price pizza I got was Prosciutto which cost $17, it was barely 12" maybe 11. Incredibly bland with little to no cheese and a very slim layer of 5 small pieces of prosciutto. I asked for extra sauce on the pizza, but it still came a bit dry so I asked for some on the side. They charged me $1 for the sauce and $17 for a tiny mediocre pizza. I was amazed that they are in business. total or $24 for lunch and I was still hungry afterwards....:( Great location with nice western sun and outside seating front and back. It's really too bad they are not making a better effort on the food.

Yelp
The food and ambience were amazing. We sat out on the back deck and while it was a little chilly, it was worth it! We god the Diavola pizza and added arugula along with the Tricolore salad and pesto gnocchi. Everything was great. I look forward to going f back soon!
