This is our favorite place to eat in Coronado. The menu has lots of options, there are craft beers, and the setting and service are wonderful! It also doesn't break the bank and is a bit further away from where the crowds gather. It can get crowded on its own, no surprise it's a popular place. But the beauty of it is that it's a nice walk from the main hustle in the drag. It's also a short walk to the ferry landing and water.
You can sit outside, or in a booth and open the shutters to get that outside vibe. There is a fireplace too for the couple months of the year it is cold here. Almost every time I have gone in they gave me just the seat I was hoping for. When they don't and I ask nicely for a different one, they are always super nice and easy about it.
We went for a light dinner and we both opted for fish tacos. I had the wahoo tacos, my wife has the ahi. With entrees you can pick side salad, fries or tots. I opted for the salad, she got the tots extra crispy. The salad is a nice size and it had great toppings. They have a big selection of dressings, I usually get the basil because it is so darn tasty. They know how to do extra crispy, and the tots had a perfect crunch to them. The tacos are full of goodness with large pieces of fish, fresh crunchy cabbage and their sauces. Both came with a flavorful side of salsa.
If you like a lively brewery visit on a summer weekend or dinner on a fun holiday. Otherwise, an everyday lunch or dinner is easy for seating, either right away or a short wait. The parking is easy too, if driving is your transportation of choice. You may park a block away at most, but the blocks are short and the weather is great! I highly suggest a walk down Orange Ave though, it's a nice way to end any meal.
