Yelp
As a special guest, we came in to speak with the younger generation that will be entering the automotive workforce. We had their attention and they were very active in the learning process. The school has done very well to get our youth ready for adulthood.

Yelp
After attending a high school soccer game I've never met such unprofessionalism by administration. We had referees screaming at our team making no calls for our teams which is extremely dangerous but seemed to be making extremely small calls for their team. We got kicked out for trying to protect our kids safety. I will not allow a referee to scream at my child. Our kids have parents. Dr. Jennifer Bartkowitz claimed she was the principle but is the "testing assistant principal" and was telling us we needed to leave instead of speaking with her staff and their refs we got kicked out because of their unprofessionalism.

Yelp
Enrolling your child in this school shouldn't be this difficult. They apparently keep hiring registrars that are worse than the previous one. This new one they got won't even bother giving you her time (even though it's her job). She only services a certain group with a big smile on her face.

Yelp
don't think i've ever seen a school have such disregard for students. Favoritism is a common thing at this school throughout teachers and staff. It's always been only certain students getting excused from punishments and discipline. I wish I took my child out of this school sooner.

Yelp
I attempted to enroll my kids at this school. At first I was excited and thought this was going to be a great school for our kids since we only live a few blocks away. Then I had the misfortune of having to deal the administrator in charge of registering new out of state students at Coronado High School in Henderson, Nevada. The person assigned to enrolling my kids was Danielle Henly. This person is argumentative and rude. She makes the enrollment process a miserable and unwelcoming experience. I hope the school district or the principal of Coronado High School will address the issues with this person. It should not be so difficult to enroll kids in a public school. She is unpleasant, unprofessional, and lazy. Because of this person I have decided not to let my kids attend this school. At the new school the administration staff were efficient and courtesy. The enrollment process took less then 30 minutes. This administrator Danielle Henley at Coronado High School takes a job that can be completed in about 30 minutes and turns it into 6-8 week nightmare. I am shocked that the principal of this school would allow this type of employee to represent the school. This administrators bad attitude and poor work ethic is a disservice to the students, parents, and all tax payers in this community. The school district or principal of Coronado High School should remove Danielle Henly from this position. Parents trying to enroll kids in a public school should not have to deal with a monster like her.

Yelp
We held a service project at this school on a weekend. The custodian, Angela, was so helpful and accommodating - thank you!

Yelp
In the gym watching my grandson play JV basketball game and being coached by his dad, my son. School looks clean Gym is clean and no stinking smelly. So far good. Only drawback is parking.

Yelp
I went to a scrimmage and the scorekeeper was not running the clock. I was very furious! My butt was hurting throughout the whole game. it was supposed to be 8 minutes quarters and because the scorekeeper was not running the clock it took 20 minutes per quarter. I have finally said what I wanted to say because I could not say it out loud in this environment. I would have gotten in trouble. The scorekeeper decided not to listen to me and we have beef now. So to conclude my complaint never hold a scrimmage here.

Yelp
No school is going to be perfect. Coronado is a pretty good school if you have a self-directed, all around good student. My daughter is in mostly Honors or AP classes and likes Coronado very well. The sports programs are competitive, but very political, a bit ridiculous actually. There are many after school clubs and activities, the music program seems very good. The school staff are 50/50, some teachers go the extra mile, others you can tell are jaded and probably should find another line of work. I'd rather send my child here than another high school close by.

Yelp
I had an ok experience. I am a part of the class of 2019 graduates and I made a couple friends and liked one or two of the teachers. Other then that the teachers were pretty grouchy

Yelp
My daughter attends this school. They are pretty strict with attendance, I would say very active in all school programs. This school is always open and there is always an activity happening. They communicate very well with parents, although sometimes notices are not given enough time. As long as parents sign up for communications and actually read the communication then you will always be current, because things move fast and are always moving which is great. The teachers are communicative and every time I reach out I have received responses. Keep in mind its up to the students to also make sure parents are informed and involved and vise versa.

Yelp
Very difficult to want to enroll your child at this PUBLIC SCHOOL when the person in charge of registration DANIELLE HENLY is extremely RACIST and UNPROFESSIONAL! My siblings counselor from the out of state charter school he attended tried to contact her for information. She was extremely rude & point plank told her how could my mother expect to call if she doesn't speak English, that they don't have translators at that school. I didn't want to believe the staff were that way so I decided to call myself to get the information needed. I asked her if Coronado had a process to be able to do a school transfer for academic reasons even if the school doesn't belong to our address. She right away escalated everything! Her tone was awful and her responses all were to demean my question or insult my intelligence. I told her she sounded mad and there was no need to speak to me that way since this is literally her job. She laughed at me and said she's hanging up now. Absolutely zero help in providing any information! She should not be the person in charge of registering children! First impression is everything and this individual has zero training, empathy, professionalism, and respect!!!!

Yelp
I'm a former student here graduated in 2010. It was a absolute joke if I could go back to the 8th grade where I could pick my high school I would have tried to get into the Las Vegas academy. I don't wanna totally dog this place and be THAT GUY! I had a hand full of awesome teachers there that had the passion to actually teach but again that was only a handful in the 4 years I went. The other teachers acted like it was a baby sitting job and I had one teacher actually refuse to teach his class because he was anger with the school district. Las Vegas just sucks for education in general if I have kids they won't even go to school out here. Also drugs are a huge thing too. Passing period I'd watch all of these wanna be hendo thugs selling drugs I saw some from get hooked on heroine and I have heard that several of my peers have died from over dosing and I even started to get hooked on pills myself my 10th grade year but cleaned up shortly after it's shitty but it's true and I waited till I was clean a whole year till I told my parents. Majority of the teachers are a joke Lol the deans weren't my biggest fan and I wasn't theirs either so I think it's a mutual disagreement And the majority of the students were a joke too. I loathed being there for 4 years Absolutely materialistic and stupid coming from 14 year old who don't know jack shit about life (neither did I at the time) The school only wanted money for stupid stuff OK like I said earlier I don't wanna be that guy! The good things about the school............. Ughhhh.......... ............ My teachers that's all I have nice to say about the school besides Chinese food Tuesday -.- Mr. Speiglymyer was my world history teacher and he was the man! Friggin awesome old school guy that actually taught me something Mrs. Reed my sociology teacher had a open mind and you could tell se was a little kid still inside which made it awesome to talk to her about anything Mr. Brayman was fucking awesome my Brit lit teacher who actually prepped me for the real world senior year taught me about how college would be and how to think on my own cuz most the other teachers mistakes it for elementary school and had us color like we were 5 years old :/ but not this guy we had to know our shit! My hardest class ever! But taught me the most because he was the most realistic Other then that this place sucked. If you love your kids don't send them here send them somewhere else

Yelp
I have three kids going to this school and am very happy with this place. a. Location - In the 89052 area in Henderson which is a nice place overall, a quiet residential area with lots of easy access. b. School - Voted one of the best schools, so the possibility of your child getting a great education here exists. c. Quality - I find this school is like all other schools. The experience we have here as parents is 100% directly related to the input, the communication and the clarity we seek when discussing anything important. I used to get upset at many things about this school, the administration and their rulings. Until I realized that it was more important to make a choice to do something vs. just ranting and raving. d. Quantity - The school is already impacted so if you are not zoned for this school, you will have a difficult time to get in. e. Like all schools, you need to be as parents involved 100% in your child's education and activities. Get involved!

Yelp
I graduated last year and this year my girlfriend is graduating and i cannot believe that in one year the school has gone down hill in supporting the students all they want is good reviews on how many of their students are graduating and thus far the school has "more graduates" this year than last year and the only reason for that was because they had students who had extra credits to graduate - go and do adult Ed or apex meaning the school wants your money and in the end they stress the kids out in the end for no reason. The school wants a good reputation but it's what goes on in the inside I also wish the school would actually care about other ethnicities than just Caucasian's

Yelp
I was sexually assaulted my junior year of high school here. I was later verbally and physically harassed for months by the man who did this to me. I confided in deans, the principal and my athletic coach. I begged them to intervene and said I did not feel safe. They responded by kicking me off the track team due to my confession of one night of drinking alcohol when the assault occurred. My abuser ended up threatening and assaulting me (on school campus) so violently that he got expelled, arrested, charged with harassment and battery and was served a restraining order. This was thanks to the POLICE. Coronado high school DID NOT protect me despite my many requests for help previously.

Yelp
Graduation approaching and still no communication from the lousy school counselor corsell - like many CCSD employees - she must get paid to surf the internet and sit on her damn ass. She has failed my son and likely many other students in GUIDING them (as that is her damn job!!)..... yes - the entire CCSD needs an overhaul - there is no accountability and no oversight. Save enough money for private school or I advise home schooling - you and your child will fare much better than attending this pathetic school.

Yelp
My children went here. The worst experience I have experienced are the old people in front who are at the (front desk). They acted like Nazis who were having severe menopause and are always bitter, angry, mean and unhelpful. Especially the lady who takes the registration. She is short, spanish and acts like she owns the school. She is so unprofessional, She led me to fill out a form that she made me think it was the right form to fill out, then she used it against me in the end. The dean and the rest of the principals are the only nice ones there. I also heard a spread of tuberculosis, suicides, overdose, child birth and drugs are going around the school. I D K., my experience with the old ladies in front was not pleasant. I was wondering as to why they kept them there. Also, the councelors Mr. Lorenz was the only good model and adviser we have encountered.
