Correntoso Lake Hotel, Lake Nahuel Huapi, Lake District, Argentina - Explore & Book

"In the 1920s, before Bariloche had become a mountaineering heaven for Swiss-German immigrants pining for the Alps, an early pioneer built a simple hotel in a perfect spot on the remote northern shore of Lake Nahuel Huapi. In the 50s, smart Argentina discovered the lakes and flocked here to ski and walk, and Correntoso was rebuilt in Bariloche Alpine style, all wood and stone, with flickering flames in grand fireplaces, elaborate lamps made of antlers, and big windows onto breathtaking views across the navy blue lake to the unspoiled forested islands. And so it remains today, though the 43 bedrooms have been brought impeccably up to date, with restrained style and every possible comfort. Photograph the lake from bed: every single one has a magnificent view (and so do many of the baths). The indoor/outdoor infinity pool in the lovely spa really does seem to connect you to the lake beyond. Best of all, Correntoso has its own pier, and a cheery troupe of expert guides will take you places no one else can go, to hike, kayak and explore the pristine wonderland of Nahuel Huapi National Park. Or you can simply sip champagne on the glass-plated front deck as the sun sets: magical. Highs Fabulous lakeshore location with private pier and exclusive access to unspoilt islands, and close to fairytale Bosque Los Arrayanes National ParkOld-fashioned service in the best sense: smiling, caring, bilingual staffRooms are comfortable little havens flooded with light: it’s tempting to stay in bedAbundant adventure activities led by expert guides, and a heavenly spa and herbal hammam to treat aching muscles afterwardsDelicious food, fine wines and one of the best breakfast buffets in Patagonia; other eateries in upmarket Villa la Angostura, which Correntoso is on the edge of Lows There are 43 rooms, so it’s hardly a hideaway, though it is romantic and nicely quiet out of seasonRooms are on the small side, but charmingly done; the Junior Suite Decks have balconies, but these are shared with your neighboursLarge windows mean rooms can get hot in midsummer (ask staff to show you how to open them fully)Standard rates are not cheap" - Christabelle Dilks

The rooms are well appointed, the guest customer service is outstanding from arrival to departure… especially the Front desk team… Nahuel, Emmanuel and the GM Diane! The amenities the hotel provides… Two restaurants, full bar with premium spirits, pool ( heated) and steam and sauna with pool attendant all encompass a relaxing comfortable guest experience. The dedicated activities coordinators is a great idea. I participated in the free cocktail offering in the library room. The Correntoso has in my opinion the best Panoramic hotel views in villa la Angostura. I have stayed at all the luxury hotels in the town and this is the best!! You get what you pay for!! Lastly, the hotel is very accommodating and accessible for those that have physical challenges or disabilities the hotel structure and elevators accommodate those inconvenience if you want to move around and enjoy the hotel property.

A warning for all future guests: The hotel is charging Argentinians and Foreingers differently. Thats an absurd and not legal. They are charging foreingers directly in dollars or in argentinian pesos using the dollar blue prices (double the cost). At the end it will be way more expensive. The prices that you see online are not the prices charged by the hotel during check-in or check-out. It is the only hotel that I saw that is charging that way.

Stayed in this hotel on my honeymoon. The staff were fabulous and really gave us better service than we could have imagined. Hotel is beautiful. Genuinely cannot recommend highly enough.

The hotel location is stunning. Located on the lake at the junction of the river. Our room was nice and comfortable but not large. It had an amazing bay window that overlooked both the lake and the mouth of the river. It allowed me to view each morning the fly fisherman trying their luck right outside my window. Spectacular vision each day!||||The bathroom was small and a bit dated but clean and very functional. Hot water here is really hot so beware. Bed was really comfortable and my wife and I slept well.||||Service was excellent. The bar was really comfy and servers/bartenders were great and did their very best to make us all happy. The college football national championship was on one night and the staff graciously had the large screen TV on in the bar for us and some other interested guests.||||The spa service was excellent as well with friendly and skilled folks. Facilities in the spa were a bit tired and needed so tender loving care. ||||I would recommend for the location, good service, food and drinks! We had a great stay at this 40 - 45 room resort.

Absolutely amazing. Correntoso is one of Argentina’s oldest hotels and they have maintained a level of class and comfort that I have rarely seen elsewhere. Loved the beautiful views on the lake, the massage and the excellent food. Many thanks to the staff, they are an exceptional team!

This boutique hotel has spectacular views of the lake from every angle. We had a junior suite which had views in every direction. The location is terrific to enjoy town or visit the seven lakes in the area. Service was terrific. We did a few of the included activities and another excursion which was extra and they were very enjoyable. Star gazing and sunsets are fabulous. Breakfast buffet is very nice but would appreciate more hot offerings beyond scrambled eggs. We would also appreciate more selection on the dinner menu. We chose to eat in town 2 of the 4 nights stay. We would recommend addjng ceiling fans in every room as there is no a/c. They did provide us with a portable fan, but its gime to address the typical higher temps. We also would have appreciated kayaks for use right from the dock. We would definitely recommend this hotel.
