Popped into this little pasta shop to buy a gift. Who wouldn't love a pound of fresh pasta and freshly made marinara as a present? No one, is what I figured! My gift went over really well, FYI.
It was kind of difficult to choose which kind of pasta, because they have so many. I ended up getting a thick papparadelle, but they have all kinds of interesting shaped pastas and even a seasonal pumpkin pasta. As of this writing, pasta is sold by 4 ounce portions, and each portion is $3. The woman behind the counter said that they say 4 ounces is one serving, but actually, technically, a serving of pasta is 2 ounces. (But we're in the Midwest, so what's considered a normal portion size is a little skewed.) Fresh sauces include puttanesca, alfredo, a creamy lemon sauce and a few others.
You can eat lunch here, too, between the hours of 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. The dining room is small -- it looks like maybe only two parties could dine in at a time. (Update: The business owner informed me that they can seat 30 people! I obviously am bad at eyeballing seating capacity.) Mostly, Nicole-Taylor's seems like a place to get some pasta and other things to take with you to make back at home.
