"With its tinted windows and signage that looks like it was designed with Microsoft WordArt, you probably wouldn’t do a double take on this strip mall restaurant. But Cortona’s low-key appearance is part of its appeal—you can have a fantastic dinner in a chill atmosphere. Their menu focuses on Italian dishes like chicken parm, fettuccini served with a giant meatball, and the star: a four-layer lasagna swimming in a pinot noir Bolognese sauce and topped with creamy bechamel. They only make a limited number every day, but you can (and should) preorder 24 hours in advance. For dessert, cruise over to the gelato case to sample the pistachio or hazelnut (the scooper will gas up the fact that they’re made with nut pastes imported from Italy). " - Jené Shaw

Fabulous experience at Cortona Bistrot. The pesto lasagne was stand out! The chefs work so hard and everything is made fresh. The hosts were also great with wine recommendations from the local area. Would highly recommend! It is only a small restaurant so I would recommend booking.

What an amazing restaurant! The food was delicious, the wine-by-the-glass was great, and it's soo uniquely decorated. Staff/owner are very friendly! I liked the fact that they asked me specifically how I wanted my steak cooked. Bravo Cortona Bistrot 👏👏🍷

Had some of the best food here while visiting tuscany. Had a pesto lasagna which was amazing and my wife had a delicious pasta. Service was also good. Worth a trip if you are staying near or visiting Cortona.

THE BEST italian food I ever had. Everything was super delicious and I was especially impressed by the pinsa. Pasta and risotto in the pictures were from the Special dishes menu. Besides amazing food,service and the atmosphere were excellent too. P.S. it's a dog friendly place.

We loved the Cortona Bistrot We were there two evenings. The food was so special, very fresh ingredients, great arrangements and soo delicious! Thank you Davide and your wife for these beautiful evenings. The service was very good and the Restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere. If you want to sit outside you need make a reservation early :-)

That was genuinely one of the best meals I’ve ever had. The food was AMAZING (highly recommend the lasagna, egg/truffle starter, fried rabbit, and tiramisu), the host/chef couple are so kind, and the ambiance is perfect. We made a reservation in the morning was truly felt like it was the best meal we’ve had in years. HIGHLY recommend

Service & Quality. A lovely couple own & operate the Bistrot. A lovely view if you’re lucky enough to get an outside table. A few solid wines on the list and many dishes to choose from, yet each with its own specialty. Thank you for such a nice evening.

Tonights dinner was amazing! The wait staff was excellent, great recommendations for both food and wine. We had gnudi, pesto lasagna, pici with tomatoe and garlic, and a wonderful flourless chocolate cake. An easily overlooked restaurant slightly tucked. Female chefs who absolutely rocked it! Thank you for our best meal so far.

Amazing lunch with my wife. The chef and maitre d are husband and wife and work seamlessly together. The ambiance was very charming and comforting. We ordered two pastas (pici and gnudi) and they were the best we have had in Italy so far. Worth the trip to Cortona just to have a meal at this lovely restaurant!

AMAZING food! I was here for a rehearsal/wedding party dinner on 7/28, so I didn't look at a menu. We were served appetizers and then I chose truffle pasta with a cream sauce as my entree, and it was to die for. I love the ambience here, and loved being able to see the chef working in the kitchen from where we sat. It was walking distance to our hotel (Hotel San Luca), so after getting much too full, it was easy to get back to our room!

This review is over due. We ate here last year (we spend the summers in Cortona) with friends who came to visit. And the kitchen was slow, and there weren't any diners . The food was just ok, but I have a policy to always give second chances. I plan on going back in the next few months whilst here, and will update accordingly. Otherwise, the staff was nice and the view is outstanding!
