Came here to eat a vegetarian dinner. With some dessert and water. Troy who keeps the dining area clean is amazing and was working like he gets tops from the customers. This is the most clean I've ever seen this dining area. I'm here often. Great selection. I wish they could create regular chef salads and meat free hot entrees. All in all it's a great market store and so much more. 🎊DON'T FORGET TO HAVE YOUR GARAGE PARKING TICKET STAMPED🎊

It's like Whole Foods and the neighborhood deli teamed up to make this place. Not a huge selection in the grocery but absolutely much much more than just your essentials. We were in town for a volleyball tournament and I needed water, protein bars, snacks, etc, and they had everything we needed and more. The bonus was their deli section where you could get sandwiches, salads, drinks (non-alcoholic and alcoholic) hot items, and a selection of breakfast pastries, and desserts that were awesome. This place is a gem in downtown Kansas City!!!

EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE at every counter! FRESH produce, the freshest around! Daily deals at the butcher’s counter AND $2 Triple Chocolate Muffins or try the Cinnamon Chip Muffin! (Thank me later) Fresh sushi made daily right in front of your eyes! You will definitely be amazed at the fresh salad bar AND pasta station! Highly Recommend

Google
Love this store, they have the best bakery. The cakes are moist and the buttercream frosting is my favorite. The bakery case is just so beautiful, it is hard to choose. The prices for their bakery items are very reasonable. The salad bar and hot food items are plentiful, fresh and so delicious.

Google
Can’t really find negative things to say about Cosentino’s. I go regularly because it is my neighborhood market. Top notch quality hot bar food, coffee, smoothies, bakery, deli and the cashiers have always given me friendly experience. Every once in a while it has it gotten absolutely packed because of a show downtown, or a convention but lines always move at a reasonable rate. It is a bit pricey compared to most markets, but I know what to expect because of the location. There’s always security there, never a problem of not feeling safe in that area. Also, the biggest perk: $10 dollars for a pound of ready to eat food. Whether it’s chicken wings or lasagna, or soup. That’s my biggest reason for still going there

Google
A bit limited & expensive for groceries however it more than makes up for it with its delivery. Can create your own salad or meal for just $10/lb along with many ready-to-go meals if you are in a hurry and need a quick meal. Oh and the chicken tenders are delicious...best in the city!

Google
Great grocery store with a ton of options. They have a full service hot meal section and a nice area with a bunch of tables to enjoy your food. They also had a great adult beverage section with everything you need.

Google
Ordered a 8 inch carrot cake for dinner dessert at my sisters'. Picked up Saturday. Cake was delicious and a big hit with all. Also picked up a small fruit tart cake which was also delicious and loved by all. Just want to thank the bakery department for making absolutely delicious ( not just tasting so good, but, also for looking so good) desserts. If you haven't, you need to check out Cosentino's bakery section. So many choices and so good.

Yelp
There are plenty of business people at the lunch hour, ordering sandwiches and other deli food. I like to drop in weekends to grab some milk, yogurt, etc. The prices compare to Safeway on the West Coast. Most of the cashiers are friendly and there's even a lottery ticket machine if you like that kind of thing. Recommended.

Yelp
Another quick run to the store. Always when you're fixing a meal and boom one item missing. I'm also glad there's garage parking and validation through Cosentino, definitely an appreciated value to downtown grocery store.

Yelp
A nice and convenient grocery store in a downtown is always a plus for me while working out of town. Cosentino's was only a couple of blocks from my hotel and open until 10pm, so I grabbed a late dinner and drinks more than once during my week of working DC. Fair prices and decent amount of grab and go selections. The store helped my wallet and my belly from being empty on several late nights

Yelp
Cosentino's was very convenient to the hotel I was staying at and the hours were perfect. They have pretty much everything and anything you need here. They have hot and cold food, they have feminine products, even souvenirs. The employees were very genuine and helpful here and kind. I came twice and it was a very short distance walk from the hotel which was super beneficial. The prices were also very reasonable. The employees were polite and it was a very relaxed market vibe. You can even sit down and eat and I saw some people reading the paper. I liked the energy in here and the fruit was nice and fresh and very good.

Yelp
Cosentino's Downtown Market is on the corner, across from The Yardhouse. They validate parking for up to 2 hours with any purchase. My husband and I stopped by this market earlier today, thinking we could do some grocery shopping and also see what we may want to eat for lunch. If you are coming for a meal, you can purchase a premade sandwich or one made fresh, a slice of pizza, premade salad or check out the salad bar ($9/ lb), fried chicken or catfish, chef's meal (fish, pork, beef, etc), various of pastries, chocolates and cakes, gelato, tea/ coffee and sushi. We ended up choosing the following for lunch: 16 oz Chai Latte, $3.99 prior to tax- This chai latte came hot and it tasted nice and smooth. Great size for the price. Grilled Chicken Club Salad, $9.99 prior to tax- I decided to just get a large salad instead of trying to make my own salad (because the price can add up). My salad did not come with salad dressing but you can purchase a packet of dressing for $0.59. The same for if you make your own salad from the salad bar, it does not come with dressing and only dressing in a packet is available. The size of this salad was more than plenty to share with my husband. The amount of chicken was very generous. The salad is made with iceberg and romaine lettuce 2 Piece Chicken Meal, $9 prior to tax- This meal comes with 2 sides, my husband picked assorted vegetables and mashed potatoes with gravy. His vegetables were overcooked, as they were very soft. The vegetable mix was broccoli, cauliflower and sliced carrots. The mashed potatoes and gravy was good. The chicken was also just fine. My husband enjoyed his meal and felt full afterwards. Cinnamon Roll, $2 prior to tax- The price for the size of this cinnamon roll is very cheap so my husband had to get it. He has not had it yet and most likely will try some later this evening and probably finish the rest tomorrow morning. ---------------------------------------- (Total= $27.80 after tax) We also ended up doing some grocery shopping afterwards, mostly picked up fruits and vegetables. The prices surprisingly aren't too expensive. The produce seem to be on par with another local grocery market that I had shopped at a few days ago. The employee who rang us up the first time (for our lunch) was very friendly. The second employee (who rang us up when we purchased our grocery items) was nice but not overly friendly. There is a nice dining area upstairs and there is also a dining area by the registers at the front of the store. There is also self serve water in both areas. If you wish to use the restroom, you have to as the employees at the customer service desk for the code. If I lived in this area, I would definitely be a regular at this market.

Yelp
Oh how grateful I am to have Cosentino's downtown! Since it's the only grocery store downtown, of course it's a little expensive, but I accept that for the convenience. It's located smack dab in the middle of downtown between 2 streetcar stops - perfectly convenient. And because it's smallish and located in a city block, of course it's not going to have every single thing you could ever need, but it has plenty of options to keep my fridge stocked. They have an excellent hot bar, sushi bar, build-your-own-sandwich station, and even a gelato counter, which makes this a great option for a quick lunch or dinner downtown too. There are always people hanging out and eating in the Cosentino's. There is a convenient parking garage attached to the Cosentino's, and you can get your parking validated at check out! So convenient.

Yelp
I can't believe I haven't review this place, but this place used to be my go to when I worked in downtown a lot. But even now, I still like this place to shop, they have decent hot food bar, even sushi and great selection of liquor. But let me rave about their bakery department. I have always love their cakes, I gotten my birthdays cakes here because you can custom or preorder it here. They make it easy and prices are fair. Love their Bavarian and Chantily Cream Cake. I want to expand my taste and tried their other desserts, but yesss their bakery good is a must! Plus they got friendly staff too.

Yelp
We go to this market when we are visiting KC. They have a good selection of items available. It's great that they have a deli, salad bar, hot bar, delicious produce and bakery. When you're visiting from out of town and don't have access to a kitchen, their selections make visiting a lot more convenient and healthier since you're not forced to eat out. Our favorite is definitely the gelato and the bakery. Customer service is half and half. The cashiers are friendly and some of the employees are okay. This is a smaller grocery store and somewhat expensive but it's worth the convenience.

Yelp
Aside from the snarky ( for no reason ) cashier this seems like a decent downtown area grocery store! They have a large hot foods section, a whole area with beautiful and drool worthy cakes and sweets, fresh seafood / meat area and massive salad bar (although this late in the day (6pm) the salad bar look completely unappetizing) I had some Mac and cheese which was good and some potato wedges which were the best I've ever had (it was the seasoning) !!! I feel like the deli and to go areas were the best with a large selection, which in this area seems logical. Aisles were well stocked and there was also a large beer and booze section. There were even some local BBQ sauces and seasonings. If you're downtown and looking to put a few items in your fridge and in your tummy I'd say this is your spot!

David W.

Yelp
Excellent place to pick up needed items, and also has outstanding food for lunch and a quick dinner. Very reasonably priced for a downtown area. The employees are extremely nice and helpful. Highly recommend it!

Yelp
This little supermarket had a pretty nice salad bar/hot food service area. Me and the wife and daughter were very surprised had a good lunch and it didn't break the bank in Kansas City during another cheer competition. We would definitely go back there for lunch.

Yelp
Ran to get here, had 5 minutes to spare and doors were locked. Really crappy customer service especially for people who are traveling.

Barbara H.

Yelp
Great find in Power Light District. A little pricey but high end items. Convenient for those living or staying downtown.

Yelp
Beautiful market with great looking produce! Great place to grab snacks for the room or road!! Full deli and great wine selection!
google avatar

Jon L.

Yelp
I love a fancy grocery store. Gelsons, wegmans, ajs fine foods. All of them amazing. Cosentinos is no different. Beautiful store with tons of hot, cold options, sushi and more. I stayed down the street and went every day I was in town.
google avatar

Andrew S.

Yelp
Cosentino's is across the street from the Yard House restaurant and is a great place to get takeout desserts. Besides having wimes and spirits, they carry a good assortment of wine and other liquors. It reminds me of a smaller version of whole foods without the grocery. Service is available if you need help, and the checkout is pretty standard. During the evening hours, police officers work as security officers there. It does provide the feeling of safety.
google avatar

Lindsey L.

Yelp
Thank goodness for Cosentino's Downtown Market. It's great for those of us who live and work downtown. Especially in the winter! I don't go here regularly because it's a little higher priced for pantry items, but it does the job when I need it. My absolute favorite is their roasted black bean salsa and their granola when they have it! They also serve up delicious sandwhiches for lunch. I haven't tried the fried chicken, salad bar, coffee or ice cream yet but it all looks good! The staff is always so kind and friendly. And I love that there are windows to the street from the main area. Great wine and liquor selection too!
google avatar

Yelp
This market is a bit pricy but some cool things like the sandwich bar has a lot of choices, the blended coffees like the thrilla vanilla and elbow Chocolate bar. They also have cheap pickle packs, a wide range of alcohol and authentic KC sauces and friendly staff. The store was really clean and I will be back next time I'm passing through. Many good options and great staff.

Yelp
Freshly made sandwiches a great hot bar and delicious bakery selection. Good place to fill up on everything you need

Yelp
Came downtown for some dessert and already knowing this place had some good desserts that no other would have. Picked out 2 things that came up around $10 in total. My favorite out of the two has to be the fruit tartlette. It has a taste of no other I have ever experienced. The crust was so good and the fruit taste very fresh. The other one is not my favorite being for I don't really favor peanut butter. But, it was not bad at all.

Monica L.

Yelp
This market is ideal for one stop meals and groceries; especially when visiting from out-of-town. They hot food, lots of options to build your salad, sandwich-making station, sushi, and areas to eat if there for lunch/dinner. Fresh produce and everything you need on your grocery list. We visit KC for big volleyball tournaments, so this market is always visited for all our needs. Some employees need friendly customer service; a smile can go a long way. But the market is such a great place, it makes up for the sub-par customer service. Maybe expecting all the busyness during these tournaments isn't ideal for the workers. I don't know. But this market is worth shopping at.

Yelp
Was talked down to by cashier Bought a small coffee the menu board said 1.79 and he charged 2.29 I asked why and he said he was not going to argue with me and then called security I never raised my voice or anything threatening I went back to look at the menu and it was confusing but I guess the 1.79 was for refill Very poor customer service

dikla godesh ..

Yelp
Over all good market. For pedestrians it is difficult to leave the store after checkout. The door goes to the parking garage and I had to cross the store and leave from the main entrance. Prices are higher than average. And no shopping bag provided at cashier. I had to purchase one. Coming to KC only on business trip was not a comfortable experience
google avatar

Chris Z.

Yelp
Excellent place for food groceries and fellowship. An oasis in the city. We enjoyed lunch there. A wide variety of food and groceries!
google avatar

Marissa S.

Yelp
Cosentino's is a decent, well-stocked grocery store, complete with a deli counter, dessert counter, salad bar and more. It's definitely a little pricier, but if you download the app you can rack up points and get access to discounted items, free products, and more! Cashiers are usually pretty nice, and the lines move fast.
google avatar

Fox E.

Yelp
Not to be confused with COS Encino's, which is an algebra company based in the Valley in Los Angeles. I'm not a fan of hipster markets - I just can't do it. You'll find them in California and New York and they're organic for the most part, and massively overpriced as hell. I was surprised to see one in downtown Kansas City, and it's definitely aimed at the Hipster element of town, because prices are very high and products aren't even that great. A lot of mislabeling and organic stuff that isn't really organic and what not. Much as you'll find at somewhere like Whole Foods. I'm just not a fan, but if you're a hipster you probably will be, and that's your prerogative. KC isn't a high earning city though and a lot of the people in KC would balk at these prices - as do I.

Yelp
On December 5th, 2024, I had a horrible first time experience in your store. I'm a flight attendant for America's most LUVed airline where we pride ourselves in excellent customer service. While I was on a work layover in downtown Kansas City, I came across your market online and was so excited to check it out. I brought one of my coworkers, another flight attendant with me to share in the experience. When we walked in, we were amazed by the size and selection of the service deli and salad bar as we were shopping for food to take with us on the rest of our three day trip. The two of us waited patiently in line for the hot food section for about 15 minutes, as there was only one man working the counter (which was not the issue as we were not on any time constraints and were enjoying our conversation and taking in the so far pleasant atmosphere). Once it was our turn to be served, the African American gentleman (although he was no gentleman) behind the counter, strangely looked at my Hispanic coworker, and then proceeded to ask two African American women behind us who were also in the line and whom were not shopping together, if the two of us had cut in front of either of them. Once they told him that we had not, he looked back at us and rudely asked what we want. Seeing that my coworker was extremely frustrated but refusing to say anything, I tried to make light of the situation by saying, "Hey bro, I know this food smells delicious but we would never try to cut in front of other waiting customers ha ha." He glared at me angrily and shouted at me, "I'm not your bro, my name's Tony." At this point I was done being polite and told him how unprofessional and disrespectful his behavior was to the two of us who waited in line just like everyone else and how shocked we were to be treated this way. As soon as he saw that I wasn't being friendly anymore, he immediately backpedaled and with a fake smile responded, "Oh come on bro, I was just joking." ARE YOU SERIOUS??? I responded with the same thing he said to me, "I'm not your bro, and my name is Matt and I will never be returning to your store again." One of the managers who was walking by and seemed to have caught the end of the heated situation, stopped so I decided to fill him in on exactly what had happened. He was very apologetic and seemed extremely embarrassed but not surprised about Tony's behavior, almost as if this wasn't the first time a situation like this happened with his employee. He expressed that he would be "talking with him immediately." I'd like to end this complaint with a compliment about all the other employees that we had interactions with and how wonderful they all were. The $70 in food we purchased was also just as tasty as it looked. If it wasn't for this one bad egg you have employed, we would have certainly come back and even brought in more business to the market through word of mouth in our vast aviation family that are frequent visitors of the downtown Kansas City area. Hopefully Tony get's the necessary diversity and sensitivity training he needs to be successful in a business that has a diverse group of people who come in and out of the store on a day to day basis. Otherwise, your store is going to lose even more really great customers.

Yelp
Great market that has all you would need in Power and light. From the wine to the bakery to the deli it will have all your grocery needs and any quick bites you might want to try. Tonight I walked away with a fruit tartlette and it was exactly what was needed for this longer weekend!
google avatar

John C.

Yelp
Cool market with lots of interesting items. Got to try the famous Elbow chocolate and they were so delicious! They had kombucha on tap and the place was closing so only got some sweets. They have a huge food section of prepared food but that was long gone when I arrived. For sure will be back when in KC.
google avatar

Brad W.

Yelp
Mostly was here for the small sovenuir shop in the front. The store lacked a hot breakfast, like eggs and bacon. This place mostly good for lunch, but the banana cream pie was very good.
google avatar

Bill M.

Yelp
In Kansas City on biz and found Cosentinos for fruit, hot food instead of dining out each meal. Great selections

Bryan B.

Yelp
Best fresh sandwich in the downtown Kansas City area. Ask Bryan, the Red head, to make it, no one else!
google avatar

Yelp
I travel a lot and this one of my favorite places to go! The food is wonderful and fresh, everyone is friendly and helpful. Its a laid back experience and it feels like home
google avatar

Rachel H.

Yelp
This market is an oasis of grocery shopping in the middle of downtown city life. Of course, most things are more expensive than your average suburban grocery store (um, $3.00 each for a white Asain pear or $2.99/lb for yellow non-organic peaches??) But we really came for something sweet during our evening out. I spoke to one of the bakery workers who said they make a huge percentage of their bakery products from scratch. Including their huge display of cakes, single serving desserts and a whole ice cream bar! The single serving dessert we tried, the Chocolate Fudge Cake, was actually a bit dry and hard. But we popped it into the microwave near their cafe seating for a mere 15 seconds, and we were floating away into a chocolate dreamland.
google avatar

Yelp
I'm in Kansas City for work and stopped by Cosentino's to pick up some things to eat over the next few days. The store is very nice. They have great produce, prepared foods and specialty items as well as other grocery items. I paid a little more than average, but it's worth it for the selection and convenience. Staff was friendly as well. If your downtown check it out.
google avatar

Julia O.

Yelp
Fantastic local grocery store. Gourmet if you'd like, regular if you don't. Beer and wine, nice chef made hot bar. Delicious bakery items, produce section extraordinare. I'm on business & always make my way here. Fresh made sandwiches, salads and sushi.

Mona A.

Yelp
We were at the bakery at 8:23pm this evening. The signs all said that the bakery was open until 9:00. We had two pieces of pie picked out and were requesting two coffees. The attendant told us that she couldn't help us because she was cleaning the cases. Lost a $25.00 opportunity plus a lot of good will. We just purchased a condo on 8th and Broadway. We were checking out the neighbor! Very disappointing!

Yelp
I never knew there was an actually Cosentino's, but I've heard of the name from their Price Choppers. My friend came here to get lunch and I tagged along to find something to sate my sweet tooth. From the outside you wouldn't think this, but it is a large store with an expansive assortment of lunch foods, desserts, and KC souvenirs! I went straight to their dessert section to look for a fruit tart of some kind. Their deserts selection was okay. It was a little messy the way it was set up, and some of their cake slices looked sad. My friend got the chocolate strawberry cheesecake and I got the mini sour cream chocolate bundt cake. With the exception of the strawberry, we didn't enjoy either. Maybe it was just what we chose that day though. I didn't get a good vibe from the employees there that I interacted with, but it could've just been because we came right after the lunch rush. Overall, I'm not impressed by their desserts, but may return to try their express lunch items if I'm ever in the area.
google avatar

Josh C.

Yelp
This market was pretty amazing from picking up a few items to grabbing a wonderful fresh made deli sandwich it was all amazing and with fair prices. We made 3 visits over 4 days from the local convention hall.
google avatar

Harmanjeet K.

Yelp
I love their bakery! Their cakes and pastries are some of the best I've ever had. Their fruit and chocolate cakes are the best. They offer bite size desserts to big cakes and there's something for everyone here. They have the best Tiramisu ever! You have to try it!
google avatar

Rod B.

Yelp
It is a surprise to find this type of quality and selection in a downtown setting. A nice liquor department as well. And each time we have been there, we have had service with a smile. Highly recommended if you need anything while downtown.
google avatar

Chad W.

Yelp
Great market if you are downtown. With lots of grab and go options, a seating area there, tons and tons of desserts, and your standard grocery/alcohol. A better Whole Foods or Trader Joe's.
google avatar

Adam S.

Yelp
Such a nice downtown grocery store that was sorely needed for decades. This place is an oasis in a former food desert, and aside from groceries, there is an impressive lunch selection for downtown workers and residents. I used to belong to OneLife Fitness which is a floor or two above Cosentino's and it was really nice to consolidate a gym trip with a quick grocery store trip. I can only imagine the convenience for people who live in the OneLight Apartments as well. Anytime you can minimize drive-time around KC you're going to add years to your life. You can park in the garage and get your ticket validated at check-out. I hear they're starting to get much stricter at this parking lot by adding in time sensors to the parking spots, so look out if you're like me and like to use this lot for a while downtown, buy a pack of gum from the store and call it a day.
google avatar

Colby B.

Yelp
We decided to go into cosentinos for some dessert to have back in the hotel. My wife, sister in law, and brother went back to the bathroom while I finished shopping. The women's restroom was out of order so after my brother finished they went into the men's room. The customer service employee Kelly told them "the men's room is for men and the women's room is for women. If you had to go that bad you should've used the port-a-potties out back" If she would've came up and informed them of the policy it would've been fine. But to come at them at in a hostile manner was inappropriate. It really made enjoyable night stressful.
google avatar

Andy H.

Yelp
Great place for the business traveler. This place has it all. A deli type area for hot foods, sandwiches, sushi bar, pizza, salad bar. The cases are filled with an assortment of cheeses, pastries and candies. There is also the grocery store section that has a large wine selection as well as local items to take home. Cashier was very friendly too.
google avatar

Victoria C.

Yelp
We loved our wedding cake so much that we came back for a birthday cake too. Definitely recommend practically everything but we've loved buttercream frosting and Bavarian cream filling the most. so good and they are able to run with any idea you give them!!!

Yelp
Breakfast buffet is a pale comparison to what it used to be but the pasterys are delicious. I especially enjoyed the glazed croisannt

Anne B.

Yelp
Called night before to find out what time hot breakfast was served. Was told til 10:30am. Arrived 9:15am. Hot breakfast was empty and they don't refill it. Don't waste time walking here for breakfast from your hotel. Go to Silver Spoon instead. They are great.

Yelp
I love this Consentino's Market! It is located in the Power & Light District in Kansas City, MO Downtown off 13th and Main St. I would highly recommend coming here if you work downtown and want to grab some quick food or if you are visiting or staying downtown. Inside the market, there is a corner of Kansas City souvenirs such as t-shirts, hats, key chains, shot glasses, postcards, etc. They also have a small floral section, hot/cold deli with freshly made foods, a big salad bar, nice/fancy bakery section, alcohol aisles, produce area, meat and poultry department. They also have plenty of checkout registers and seating areas on both sides of the store. One seating area is upstairs that is nice to eat at and hangout during lunch/dinner, you can see the whole store from above. You would have to buy something from the market and have your receipt out just in case a worker goes around asking to verify that you are a customer there. From working downtown at several companies, Cosentino's Market is a go-to place to grab a quick lunch, however, I would be careful going there often, the food either from the deli or bakery could be pricey, depending on what you get, it usually adds up to $8-$15 per meal if you are planning to get food from there everyday. It is usually crazy busy around 11am to 2pm for lunch time. Any other days it would be slow or busy, depending on the events going on downtown. The workers there are nice sometimes, I usually go to the bakery or the hot deli to get food and dessert. I love going there for the fried chicken, salad bar, and pasta station. Also, I love the shrimp salad and deviled egg potato salad in the cold deli. From the bakery, my all-time favorite is the Chocolate-covered Strawberries ($1.50 each). They also have beautifully designed cakes with fresh fruit, brownies, Christopher Elbow fancy chocolates, cookies, danishes, and other pastries that are all great. They do have a parking garage next to the market with the entrance on Main or Walnut street that you can park for free within 2 hrs. You will have to pull a ticket and get it validated at the register during checkout or customer services.
