We have our sweet 16 birthday party last year April 13. It was amazing everyone was great, they filled all our request. Great venue!!

An absolutely great experience at the Cosmopolitan! We celebrated my mother in laws birthday here. Scott and Eileen are the best hosts. Eileen personally greeted my family at the door and made us feel welcomed. Scott made sure everything was set-up to our liking. Our guest all complimented the food and attentive staff. Thank you, for making this party one for the books!

I would love to say thank you to Eileen and Scott and the entire cosmopolitan staff for making my daughter Anna sweet 16 the most memorable event ever. The ballroom was the most beautiful room I have ever seen. The food tasted like your mom cooked it. Event went flawless. They help us through the whole event. Thank you so much. I recommend this place to anyone.

We had to switch our 100+ party venue with short notice. Eileen specifically was very instrumental in making this happen for us. She was accessible before, during, and after hours. She worked directly with the vendors we had selected to coordinate delivery and set up, and made my vision come to life. Her team was exceptional during the party, and made hosting fun and stress-free for us! I would certainly recommend The Cosmopolitan for a stress free and beautiful venue!

First, Bill, the Maître D', greeted me upon arriving, and despite how busy he was with arranging for a corporate meeting for 200 + guests, he was able to take the time to show me around before speaking to the owner Eileen. Both my wife and I got married, then called Grand Chalet, in the year 2000. It was an experience to see how Grand Chalet was turned into Cosmopolitan with an upscale & luxurious design. Everything is beautiful. It was a pleasure to once again meet up with Eileen where we were able to reminisce, laugh, and be able to make an event for both my wife and I for our 25th wedding anniversary for the year 2025. It's a surprise for my wife! I'm looking forward to seeing my wife's reaction next year. Oh, and let me not forget... The gazebo is still intact. I am looking forward to another 📸 with the same pose with my wife.

A week ago today, my family celebrated my daughter, Olivia-Kai’s Sweet 16. Nearly a year ago, my wife and I set out to find the perfect venue to host the party. After visiting several other locations, we scheduled an initial meeting with Eileen. The venue itself is beautiful, but what really sold us was Eileen. She walked us through the process and answered our numerous questions. Eileen’s presentation was flawless and professional. We instantly knew we had to book at the Cosmopolitan. Throughout the year, we met with Eileen on several occasions. Each time, she was kind and helpful. We had nearly 100 guests attend the celebration, many of whom traveled from other states. Each guest (especially the teenagers) raved about the venue and the accommodation. It is with great appreciation that Sandra and I extend a heartfelt thank you to Eileen, Scott, and Bill. Although Olivia was the star on our special evening, Cosmopolitan deserves a warm round of applause for creating such a magical evening that surely won’t be forgotten anytime soon.

From start to finish, our experience with Cosmopolitan was nothing short of amazing! We recently celebrated our daughter Stephanie’s Sweet 16, and the entire night was absolutely magical. The team went above and beyond to bring our vision to life, ensuring every detail was perfect. The venue was stunning, the food was incredible, and the service was exceptional. We spent New Year's Eve here we had such a good time the food was delicious they had a lot of appetizers the seafood salad was one of the best I've ever eaten the drinks were strong bartenders were quick they had a great DJ he had everybody up and dancing in the MC was great as well beautiful decorations I recommend this for a wedding or christening or any type of cocktail party that you feel like having

Absolutely beautiful place... TRASH hostess. Rosemary, was rude and sarcastic with an unpleasant and unflattering attitude.When asked why she was so rude to me (in particular) she turned her nose up and had the audacity to look me up and down as if she wasn't working.I requested her name 4x( nothing) & to speak to the witches supervisor, she said "Hmm." I had to chase her for the supervisor. To add insult to injury, Rosemary was so sure of herself and her position, she mocked me behind the supervisors back as we spoke. She didn't even have enough decency and respect for her superior to act professional while the matter was being addressed. As much money spent here, a greater deal of respect, communication and customer service should have been extended to not only the wedding party, but their guest. The remaining staff, PHENOMENAL! Servers were all very polite and accommodating.The food was tasty, drinks were cold, fresh and right on time, and above all the bride and groom were happy . This is definitely a great choice for your next big event, just get the right host.

I absolutely love this establishment, I had my daughters sweet 16 here 12 years ago, before they remodeled and just recently went to my friend's mother's birthday party and it was a blast. The venue had been remodeled from top to bottom and it is beautiful inside and out. The food is excellent, just as it was 12 years ago and the decorum was wonderful right down to the beautiful tiled floor. Eileen and Scott are a joy to plan with, they were an interactive part of the wedding and reception plans from start to finish. They accommodated our wedding date, which is on a Sunday afternoon and made several suggestions that helped us logistically. I did discuss some of the negative posts with Scott and he explained the situations in thier entirety to my satisfaction. I recommend those who are looking for a quality venue and a memorable experience to come down and speak with Eileen or Scott. Alway, Pete and Eunise

I can't speak highly enough of the owners, Eileen & Scott as well as their staff. They went above and beyond. As a banquet, they never dropped the ball, they were precise and timely. If we were having moments of anxiety, the owners knew how to handle it and bring us back down to level ground. Everyone from ages 2 to 82 had a fantastic time. The food was great, the ambiance was perfect. I can't speak highly enough of this venue. Their pride shows in this work. Thank you Cosmopolitan, Scott, Eileen & all of the staff! It's no wonder the parking lot is always packed! They do all they can to accommodate their guests! May you have many years of success! God bless!

This is my experience as a guest at a wedding. My friend had her wedding here in May, just when everything opened up again. Immediately walking in, the inside was alluding. The mirrored walls in the halls felt like a fairytale. The first floor had different different rooms. A small room for a small gathering, medium size room, and the large ballroom where my friend had her wedding. My friend had her ceremony outside which was nicely decorated. It was simple but elegant. After the ceremony, we went inside for the cocktail hour. They had everything that could meet anyone's dietary needs. So many options. It was spread out so there were no long lines. Dinner time is where this place lose a star. After cocktail, the staffs went around each table and asked people which meal they wanted (chicken, beef, or veggie). I asked for the beef dish. The staff wrote everyone's order on a notepad. Past weddings I've been to, the staff usually place a color-coded or name tent of the food a person ordered in front of the guest, so that way when the food comes out, they know who ordered what. Unfortunately the venue utilizing the notepad was not a good idea. There was so much confusion at my table of who ordered what. I was given chicken, and had to correct the staff. And because it took so long between taking out order and bringing out the food, some guests were playing musical table (going to other tables to chit-chat with other guests). Which I don't blame them because after cocktail, dinner was serve 2.5 hours later at 9:45pm. Wedding started at 5pm. Other than that, everything else ran smoothly. The bartender was friendly. The staffs were great. The food was good. The space was beautiful.

I have been here several times for events in 2017 and I did have a great time. I have had several different items. One time I came here for a beef steak. (Google what a "beefsteak dinner" is. It's quite different from What you may think.) and I felt it was ok. The second time I came was for a fundraiser and had the buffet. There was a large variety of dishes prepared. Chicken Marsala, penne vodka, stuffed filet of sole. All were very good options. Dessert was cake for the fundraiser. The third event I went to was the Passaic County Board of Realtors annual gala. It was a formal event with tickets costing $75-$90 dollars. We started off with a cocktail hour that was very nice. Seafood bar, carving station, open bar, with a huge selection of hot and cold appetizers. When we went into the main room for dinner, it was extremely nice with pretty good food. First was salad, next was pasta, third was a frozen lemon sorbet to clean the ballet. Then came out the filet. And dessert was done in the cocktail area with a huge selection of cakes, cookies, fruit, pastries with coffee set up to go. I enjoyed this place a lot more than several other places I have been to for larger events and recommend it if you're looking for a personal or professional event to coordinate

We went there for a tricky tray on April 18 of the 2023 the food didn't have any flavor no one at the table ate the food. The desert was store brought cooks .The venue is beautiful I won't recommend the food.

If you are looking to celebrate an event that your guests will remember, Cosmopolitan is definitely the place! We had my daughter's Sweet 16 here and it was truly magical! The ambiance has a modern classy vibe and is like no other venue around. Scott and Eileen were a pleasure to work with and we truly appreciated the time and detail they put into making my daughter's party so special. The food was delicious, the staff was super friendly, and the venue is STUNNING! What else could you ask for?! All our guests could say was WOW! Would definitely book another party here!

cute venue but literally the worst food i have ever tasted. i don't know what they put in that shit. like it isn't good. even the bread was cold. like tf is even going on in the kitchen???

My daughter had her wedding there 9/23/17 and everything start to finish was amazing. The cocktail food was fantastic, hot, way more than expected, the servers were friendly, fast, and frequent. The main hall looked perfect and fit our party of 187 with plenty of room to spare. There were only two bartenders but they were fast and pleasant. Top shelf selection of everything. Main course was salmon, chicken masala, or filet mignon....all outstanding. The hall lighting was absolutely beautiful as my daughter was able to choose colors due to led lighting. Looked perfect in pictures as well. Thank you Scott and Eileen for far exceeding our expectations.

I just held a large company event at the Cosmopolitan and everything was amazing. The food was delicious, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the owners were very accommodating to all our requests. Leading up to the event we met with the one of the owners, Eileen, and explained our vision and theme. With that information she was able to quickly brainstorm some fabulous ideas that fit perfectly and within our budget starting with when our employees walked in the front door. Our employees had an amazing night, loved the food and the recommended décor. I would highly recommend using the Cosmopolitan for future events. They are very easy to work with.

Can't say enough about how great the place looks along with their service and Staff ! Thanks to Scott and Eileen my son's 16th Birthday party was a hit ! The food was delicious both hot and cold and they made sure the beverages were replenish all night long ! They used a Wayne county police officer to secure our safety special thank you to the officer who stood watch , parents appreciate knowing their child is safe ! If you're looking for a place for your venue whether it is a Bday party or Wedding event this is absolutely the place to consider you will not be disappointed !

I was hired by some very nice people to DJ for their event. When the event was almost finished the manager or owner, not sure, very rudely walked up to me yelling at me saying shut of the music right now!!! Mind you I've never spoken to this person. The people from the party just looked at him with a very surprised look. After i told the people dancing that I'm sorry but I have to shut off the music, he yells at me saying don't play here no more. It was the first time I'd ever played at that place. Many people came up to me asking what happened? I said i don't know what that man was going thru. I told him that what ever stress life is throwing at him, it's nobody's fault. But i know God is good and he knows I didn't do anything wrong. I told the people who hired me that i feel really sorry for him. He looked like the world was on his shoulders. As for the place, it is beautiful and the employees are very nice people but beware that grumpy rude man. He seems to be a lowlife to say the leased.

My sister recently was married on site here and had her venue here. I have nothing but nice things to rave about this place. The staff was beyond friendly and accommodating . The owner Scott is hands down one of the best owners of a hall. He really knows how to run a place. He is down to earth extremely empathetic to everyone's needs ( not just the event hosts) . In my certain situation, He was not asked he simply made a judgment call, after overhearing a conversation and made a special trip to obtain a certain thing the bar did not carry . The place is beyond beautiful ( NOT GAUDY ) as some reviews state. The lighting the sound systems the flooring the rooms the bridal suites I can not rave enough about this place. It was so much of an enjoyment I plan on booking my daughter's sweet 16 party here. I highly recommend GO HERE !!!!. Beyond a 5 star rating

What an amazing experience. Ashley and I honestly cannot say thank you enough to Scott and Eileen for literally bending over backwards for us. COVID obviously hit everyone hard, and we unfortunately had to re schedule our wedding from Sept 2020 to May 2021. I know we're not the only ones, and we heard horror stories of other couples dealing with their venues. I honestly dreaded having to make the phone call, but when I did, Scott reassured me there was no issue at all, and they did everything in their power to make our night perfect, which it was. Their food is top notch, all of my guests agreed. The venue itself is absolutely breath taking, the staff, from the waiters to the bartenders to the maitre d' (thank you Bill) we're so accommodating and nice to us. These people really made us feel like royalty on our special night, and made everything so easy along the way in terms of planning. They gave us tips on our first dance, how to ensure we allowed the photographer to take great pictures, and even upgraded some of our food options to accommodate our polish guests. We felt as though we booked a venue from someone in our family, and for that we are forever grateful. If you want your night to be truly special, reach out to the cosmopolitan, you will not regret it. Thank you Scott and Eileen from the bottom of our hearts.

My wife and I got married last year 3/29/19. Going into our wedding planning process we did not know what to expect - yes, we did our research on all of the websites out there but still weren't sure how our process would be. We had it in our minds that we did not want a big, extravagant wedding because we would much rather save the money to put towards buying a home. We listened to family and friends and signed up to go to a wedding showcase to enjoy the whole wedding planning experience and hopefully find some great vendors. The very first wedding showcase that we went to and the very first venue that we saw was in October 2018 at Cosmopolitan. When we first walked in, we were immediately blown away at how beautiful the venue is. We thought to ourselves - we will never be able to afford this with our budget. We were very wrong. That night along with many amazing vendors that we met (found our DJ at the showcase as well) we met the owners of Cosmopolitan, Scott and Eileen. From the very first interactions they were WONDERFUL. We spoke to them and were upfront about budget being our number 1 priority and that we were hoping to plan to have the wedding sometime before April 2019. Scott and Eileen showed us around and we went downstairs into the smallest of their 3 rooms which was still as stunning as the larger rooms upstairs. We sat and talked for almost 2 hours after the event was over. Scott and Eileen went over many details on different ways we would be able to save money, not lose any quality of services (open bar is always top shelf is something Scott assured us of), and still have a beautiful wedding. As stressful as we thought it would be, Scott and Eileen were such friendly and down to earth people that helped put our minds at ease. Over the next week or two my wife and I visited a few more venues around the North Jersey area - none came close to not only the wow factor that we experienced at Cosmopolitan, but the level of customer service Scott and Eileen showed us. We called up Cosmopolitan on a random night after work and went that night to meet Scott and Eileen. We planned and booked Cosmopolitan as our venue that same night and well within our budget! My wife is Colombian and I'm Italian and for the wedding we wanted to find ways to blend the cultures and our families. Scott and Eileen knew this through our initial discussion - having this in mind Scott was able to give us pernil and paella as two of our selections in our happy hour which normally wouldn't have been options. We felt this was a very nice gesture and we appreciated his ability to help us blend the cultures in whatever ways possible. The months leading up to our wedding Scott and Eileen were there whenever we needed them for any questions or concerns. The night before our wedding we received a call from them and were informed that we were the only event at the venue the day of wedding. We originally had booked the downstairs room because we felt it was more intimate with our wedding size - 60 people - but they offered to move us into one of the upstairs rooms free of charge and assured us that the layout would still work perfectly for us which it did. Our wedding turned out to be absolutely beautiful, the food was spectacular, and the service was amazing. Scott and Eileen were there the whole night checking on us periodically in addition to our bridal attendant to make sure we were happy and not in need of anything. All our guests were BLOWN AWAY with how gorgeous and stunning Cosmopolitan is. We are so unbelievably happy with our experience at Cosmopolitan and cannot imagine having had our wedding anywhere else. This is not a good venue. I attended two company events here and both have been poorly staffed with mediocre food, slow bartenders and terrible music.

On July 28 we had our wedding reception at the Cosmopolitan, I can't say enough about how amazing everything was from the food, service and the decor.Scott and Eileen were just wonderful from the day we booked. We had an amazing night !!! Great Place.

While it's a beautiful venue, the manager Scott is very arrogant and rude. Eileen more friendly. Took my business else where because of that

Attended a rehearsal dinner [Thursday] and wedding [Friday] at The Cosmopolitan. What a great venue for ANY special event. The facility is beautiful and the food is OUTSTANDING, literally everything they served was wonderful, I almost wish they were open for dinner as I now need to get invited to another event @ The Cosmopolitan to have more of the food they serve. The owners and management are incredibly hands on and truly care about your experience and truly care about you enjoying every moment of your special occasion. They are involved in every step of your event. I've been to many weddings and events in the tri-state area - and have to say, this place is by far the best and can't even compare it to any other establishment in the area because nothing compares. Central location, great and varied food, wonderful people and overall OUTSTANDING experience. You will not be disappointed.

I have mixed feelings about this place. For starters, the lobby is extremely gaudy. Its so gaudy its disorienting. But the staff is very friendly. The appetizers were fantastic and the dinner was pretty good but could stand to have bigger portions and more variety of foods on each place (instead of just fish/chicken and mashed potatoes). The waiters were very slow but I have seen worse for sure

We had our wedding here and it was terrible! Scott who is the owner is extremely rude and treats people horribly. The food was horrible and service was worse. When booking they started with a ridiculous price and we walked out... They called back a few days later offering same thing for thousands less... Should have been a huge red flag... I do not recommend hosting an event here.

Place was really disappointing. Went there for event -Glasses were all dirty... when bartender was questioned he responded "you will probably have better luck finding a clean glass on the tables". Drinks were all bad - couldn't not even get a soda. Service not friendly or accommodating. I would not recommend.

Umm.... yuck. The decor is like Space meets My-super-sweet 16... there's way too much glitter. It's over glittery. The location is okay. The little waterfall is ugly. It's just an ugly venue. They should have done something else with this. It can be saved. The Viennese is in the hallway?... it needs to be saved by Jesus.

This place and these people are an absolute dream!! The entire planning process for my wedding was thorough, clear and professional. The night of my wedding was more than I could have ever imagined. The food was incredible and the place was decorated so beautifully. The staff were completely attentive and everything was perfect. Scott and Eileen are the very best. Absolutely wonderful people. Thank you for a night I will never forget!

I do not even want to give this place 1 star, but Yelp requires it. Attended a tricky tray there and had high hopes for this new venue, but it was a major disappointment. The staff not only looked miserable, but God forbid you asked them a question, because they looked at you like you had two heads. The inside is super cheesy/80's style mirrors everywhere, textured wall that already looks beat up, glitter dance floor that looks like something a little girl would dream up, and a stairwell that appeared to be spray painted. One of the chandeliers was not even working in the room we were in, which stuck out like an eye sore. The glassware was so dirty I could not even stand looking at it, and the alcohol tasted rancid. My friend could not even get a decent Diet Coke. If you are even considering having an event or wedding at this establishment I highly suggest you find a way to attend one and see for yourself. If they cannot even handle a tricky tray I can't imagine how they can pull off one of the most important days in a couples life. Look elsewhere unless you are Tony & Elvira Montana from Scarface.

Attended a reception recently and had a great time. The cocktail hour food was especially good (it happens to be my favorite part of these types of events). The staff was pleasant, the bartenders were put to the test and did well to keep up. They must have sunk a lot of $ into their renovations because everything was bright and beautiful. A couple of the women at our table were actually discussing how nice the ladies room is...lol My buddies n I were more impressed with the food and drinks. There was one small incident between another guest (who seemed to be overreacting) and one of the waitstaff (or maybe he was a busboy). I'm not sure what it was all about, but I did overhear the floor manager take care of it quickly and bluntly. Some may have misinterpreted his comments as being curt, but I saw it as honest and efficient. We all know some relative or friend who can get slightly out of hand and the manager placated this guy immediately and supported his employee while doing so. That kept things moving along smoothly. I don't know how much the party cost compared to the value I saw, so I can't give a full 5 star rating. But I do know that the people at our table all had a very good time.

I had my wedding at this venue in August 2017. I must say that the venue is very pretty and matched what I wanted as far as glitter/sparkles. Compared to the venue pricing where I've searched all around before this was affordable. Eileen was very nice on my wedding day, and the days leading up to it. At times there were some sketchy things going on (food tasting/where we would have cocktail hour), but in the end it ended up being okay. I had to take a star off because of Scott. He is one of the owners. I was not pleased with him at all, and had an uncomfortable feeling about him since i met him. The day of my wedding he came off so harsh to myself, as well as my wedding party. I don't believe that he is even aware of how he speaks to people. A bad taste was left in my mouth because of this. If planning on having an event here I would say get everything that is said down on paper when it is said, or record everything on your phone so that you do not get gypped. I will also say that for a wedding with 120 people the foyer is a bit too small.
