Lindsey was the host very professional and friendly. Honestly I liked her more than my server lol. The big drink I had with a Corona inside tasted bitter but the cocktail shrimp and fruit made it work out fine. I also ordered the empanadas and fries to go for my daughter. She loved the food!!! This spot is hidden in plain sight. I will be back, thxx.

Google
The food,( tilapia and red snapper meals) drinks (margaritas) and portions as very good. Our server could’ve been a little more tentative and coming to check on us from time to time considering we told her it was our first time. The restaurant was very clean and staff were very friendly.

Ok, 2nd stop by here was much better. No loud speaker blasting music at 6 pm on a Saturday night. We got seated right away all of the food was excellent. Definitely stop by and try them out. I have been wanting to try this place out for a while. The menu is a little different than the usal food. I was very surprised at how great this food was. We got seated right sway. The server was very nice and attentive. There is a good selection of different Mexican and seafood dishes here. For the appetizer, we got the shrimp and fries in sauce. They have a hot and cold appetizer menu here. I got the grilled fish and loved it. She got the pineapple dish with shrimp, octopus, and crab. It was fantastic. All the food was perfectly seasoned and cooked. There is a large selection of hot sauces to choose from on the table. All that food at a great price. It's probably the best quality and quantity for food i have had in a long time. They have a beautiful bar that is well stocked with everything. The only downside was they had a super loud speaker blasting music inside. It makes it very hard to have conversion. No one was sitting by the speaker. It was a bit much at 6 pm on a Saturday night. That's the only complaint I can give here. 10 out of 10 stars on the food. 8 out of ten stars overall. Definitely go by here and try it. You will not be disappointed!

Absolutely blown away by Costa Azul in Waldorf. This place is a hidden gem. One of those small local spots you might drive right past if you didn’t know better, but do yourself a favor and stop in. Easily some of the best seafood in the county. We ordered the Torre De Mariscos a towering platter of fresh seafood that was amazing from top to bottom. But the real surprise was the Pasta Costa Azul. My girlfriend almost didn’t order it since it’s not an Italian place, but it ended up being one of the best pasta dishes we’ve had in a long time. Perfectly cooked and full of flavor. I had the Coco Relleno, which came loaded with shrimp, scallops, octopus, and imitation crab in a creamy mushroom sauce, topped with melted cheese. It was incredible. something I’ll definitely be going back for. If you’re in the area and love seafood, Costa Azul needs to be on your list. Great food, friendly service, and a seriously underrated spot in Waldorf.

Google
The food was really good. This is a place that is low key, but worth a stop if you are craving Mexican/seafood. The service was attentive and the prices were decent. Definitely worth the value. If you're on Rt 5 you should duck in and grab a bite.

Google
A fun experience! The food was absolutely amazing! I have never been to such a versatile Mexican seafood restaurant but it was great! The music was a little loud but the food totally made it worth it ❤️ We will definitely be back and spread the word!

Google
The food is very flavorful. If you're not into spicy...do NOT try the salsa dip they give you with tortilla chips when they seat you. I took at least 20 minutes before the fire feeling left my mouth. We had shrimp tacos and shrimp quesadilla. Both were seasoned well and plenty of shrimp with every bite. Will return to try other dishes but will steer clear of the dip for the chips.

Google
Very authentic environment on a Friday night. The wait time was way better during the week, though. Food has been awesome every single time. We loved the chorizo dip, tacos, and any of their fried fish meals. The red snapper was so delicious and a huge portion size. The bathroom was clean, but again, they can't control who goes in there before you on a busy night. We'll definitely be going back, and they celebrate birthdays with a sombrero! Lol fun

Yelp
Came here with the fam bam because they wanted fish. Had no idea this is what they meant. Costa Azul is in an unassuming strip mall located of of 301. The interior is quaint and the music is lively. The menu is all things seafood, in all ways. Most of the dishes come with one of the varying sauces from garlicky to spicy. As a starter we got oysters; grilled and on the half shell. Both were delightful. The snapper was incredible, flavorful and cooked to perfection. The sauce that I got, I believe doable wasn't too spicy and had just the right spice. The server was kind and answered all questions asked of him. I would definitely return.

Yelp
Really good and decent priced food. Wasn't a big fan of the cushioned narrow long booth benches- very hard to get in and out as a big back lol. The Pescado Huauchinango with garlic sauce was really good. The fries, rice, salad, and the bread that came with it was pretty good. We also had the diablo fries which were decent. Service is good and attentive.

Yelp
My Taste Bud and I ventured to Costa Azul Mariscos on a Tuesday evening. We are finding our way to all the restaurants in the area by default. We like trying new places. Costa Azul was packed like sardines! We found two seats at the bar. Let's Get Into It! I stayed safe by ordering the chicken fajitas, it was a huge dish. It came with fries, salad and tortillas. Vuelve La Vida was literally a huge seafood ceviche. Chips and salsa are complementary. Drinks were delicious! Generous pours! Great bang for your buck! Great Service. Everyone should try!

Yelp
I totally forgot that I've been to this restaurant but it was years ago. I recently saw a social media influencer I follow post about it and she loved it so I decided to go the next day. My daughter and I had dinner here on a Friday evening. It is a small restaurant and it was quite popular with many large parties already seated. We were taken to a both. The waitress was attentive. The prices were reasonable. For some reason whenever I go to a Mexican restaurant I have to order fajitas as my main entree and this time was no different. I had steak and scallops. They don't have this combo on the menu but they accommodated me. The entrees we ordered were good. However, stay far far away from the chargrill oyster appetizer with cheese. No ma'am no sir not good. It looked like baked milk on top of an oyster and it tasted even worse than that sounds. Never order any food that is not a restaurant's specialty.

Yelp
The service was friendly, and our food arrived quickly. I ordered the Piña Rellena, It was perfect from start to finish. The sauce is delicious!

Yelp
Food is great very tasty. Service is great. Ambience is good. Price is higher than expected. It's a good place to go on a date.

Yelp
My favorite neighborhood spot! My family and I love whole fish! So when we found Costa Azul we fell in love. We come here often! We love the ceviche that is given prior to receiving your meals. We also love the large portions they serve. Most restaurants tease you with the playing and portion size. Not here! Please take a look at the photos! Wonderful customer service, cute ethnic decor, drink options and more! Costa Azul is a great place for lunch dinner and a late night drink. Located right next to a popular hookah lounge it can get loud but we don't mind the music! There. Is always a manger walking around. Which we enjoy. We really appreciate the hospitality and the family like feeling we get when we come here. Must try!!! All items we've tried here are delicious

Yelp
Opened on March 1, 2022, this restaurant is owned by the same people who own Mexico Restaurants in White Plains, MD and Huntingtown, MD. Two average restaurants that have captive audiences because they have no competition. I know the areas and I've eaten at both. This place has their ideas of Mexican seafood. My wife and I have had great chef made Mexican seafood dishes at other places. This place falls short in many ways. We tried 5 dishes. They give you tortilla chips, two salsas, and a ceviche dip when you dine-in. The ceviche had minced tilapia, red onions, diced tomatoes, cilantro, and carrots in salt water. That's right, salt water and natural flavors from the ingredients. My wife liked it. I thought it needed seasoning. The salsas had lime juice, chile peppers, salt, and a touch of vinegar. One had jalapeños and the other had red cayenne pepper. They were hot, too tangy, needed sugar for balance, and had few flavors. They were some of the worst salsas we have ever had. The chips were typical. 1) Mendigo Especial A soup with octopus, shrimp, onions, celery, and green peppers in a seafood broth. It came in a schooner glass with 3 large cooked shrimp hanging on the side. The shrimp had shells that were hard to peel and were not deveined. They were a waste. The broth had flavors of lime juice, onion, garlic, seafood, jalapeño pepper, tomatoes, and salt. It was hot and flavorful but unbalanced. It needed some sweetness to balance the lime, salt, and pepper. The shrimp and onions were good in taste and texture. However, the octopus, celery, and green peppers were so mushy that they were slimey. It was gross. The soup was different, but once was enough. 2) Pasta Costa Azul Fettuccine, shrimp, and mussel in a cream sauce. It came with 2 pieces of pan-fried bread. The sauce tasted like a slightly spicy alfredo sauce without cheese. It had a buttery cream flavor with a hint of black pepper. Everything was cooked well. This was okay, but not special. I'd rather have alfredo sauce because it has more flavor. The bread was soft on the inside and fried crispy on the outside. It had moderate flavors of garlic and butter. 3) Filete de Pescado Tilapia filet cooked in Sinaloa sauce. It came with french fries, rice, a slice of tomato, and a slice of cucumber. The Sinaloa sauce had onions, mild cayenne peppers, garlic, salt, and black pepper. It was mildly hot and VERY salty. The fish was soaked in sauce. The fish filet had no bones. It was light, tender, moist, and well cooked. The fries were seasoned and crispy. The rice had a few peas, corn, and carrots. It had a hint of sweetness and saltiness. The vegetables were fresh. With less salt, this dish would be okay. You get a choice of 8 sauces. Don't pick Sinaloa. 4) Filete a la Crema Tilapia filet topped with shrimp, octopus, imitation crab, bell peppers, and creamy mushroom sauce. Served with rice, french fries, a slice of cucumber, and a slice of tomato. There were 6 medium-size shrimp, lots of imitation crab, and some slices of soft octopus. The shrimp tasted fine. The crab was shaped like thin flat noodles in 0.75-inch squares. It had a typical flavor of fish with crab extract. The octopus had no flavor. The sauce had a light mushroom and milk flavor with seasoning. It was nothing special. The fish was the same as above, which was good. The rice, fries, and vegetables were the same as above. The octopus and fake crab were not worth eating. Otherwise, this dish was okay. 5) Flan The flan was mildly sweet with mild flavors of egg yolk, vanilla, and milk. It was creamy, smooth, and slightly dense. There was whipped cream and a maraschino cherry on top with sweet caramel sauce at the bottom. We enjoyed it. It was the highlight of the meal because the rest had problems. The service was excellent, and everyone was polite, helpful, and responsive. The dining room and restrooms were clean. They have unisex restrooms with lockable doors. There was a bar with 10 seats. They are located in Berkley Square shopping center and the parking lot is free. There was nothing special or outstanding in a good way. They have a variety of ceviche and steak dishes. Who goes to a seafood restaurant for steak? I don't advise people to eat raw seafood for health reasons. So, there's not much for me to recommend other than the service.

Yelp
Best Mexican seafood I've had since moving to the East coast. Was very impressed w the food & service. Could've done w/o the water dripping on my seat from the a/c but was grateful it was on. Would love to go back.

Yelp
It's Cinco da Mayo! Some friends and I stopped by for great food and margaritas. This restaurant has an extensive menu of delicious Mexican cuisine. We started our meal with frozen peach and mango margaritas. Our waitress gave us complimentary chips and ceviche which was tasty. For entrees I ordered 3 soft tacos. I ordered one each grilled shrimp, grilled fish and steak. All were well seasoned and filling. This inside is somewhat small with plenty of seating.

Rich R.

Yelp
Great food - terrific hospitality/service. Can't wait to go again. Hate to say - we did not know about this hidden gem in our area.

Yelp
As a Mexican from the gulf of Mexico, I have to admit that this place is awesome! A carnival of flavors! , and the portions for the price are outstanding! Drinks and service excellent, a jewel in Waldorf,

Yelp
I ordered the pasta and fish we got a mango mocktail and 2 soft drinks and an order of peppers . Tell me why they tried to charge me 85 dollars. They actually did but once I realized they came back and gave me 20 in cash. BEWARE!!!they will charge you extra if you don't pay attention

Yelp
This is a small, neighborhood but mighty restaurant with an amazing Mexican seafood menu. The Food is amazing; the flavors explode in your mouth and the drinks are fun and strong. The place is not big or fancy but the food and service is the best and it's budget friendly. The servers are great and fun! If you like seafood and Mexican food and don't mind the place not being fancy; then this is definitely the best find. You'll thank me later
google avatar

Yelp
Yum! I love seafood so I was very excited to try out Costa Azul and they did not disappoint. While I didn't love everything, with such an extensive menu to choose from, I am sure I will find lots of favorites. I usually do a better job of listing out what I ordered, but I was enjoying the table conversation too much. What I can say, is the seafood was bomb-diggity! The margarita was on point as well. Looking forward to my next meal there!
google avatar

Jasmine M.

Yelp
Okay, so I love love love this place. I came here for the first time about a month ago. I ordered the cheese oysters which were amazing and the largest order of crabs which was only $80 and i still had a ton to go home. This place is such a gem and so worth it for the money. My mom got the snapper and that was bomb. The complimentary ceviche was delightful along with the salsa and corn tortilla chips. The margaritas are good and cheap...just a little watery if you order them frozen. The atmosphere is cute and quaint...with the sounds of Hispanic tunes. Usually go during the day around 1-3pm and it's never packed. Parking is simple which is another reason why I keep coming back. All the staff speaks mainly Spanish but are still nice as ever and understand your needs and give recommendations. My recommendation: order the crab legs Sinaloa style with a margarita on the rocks

Yelp
Ah man this place is scrumptious how'd I miss it in the lot next to my favorite Thai place I'll be back with my stretchy pants on

Yelp
Great place to eat Mariscos!!! Service is great, fast and friendly!. Food is amazing, the menu is super delicious I am not from around and I decided to stop by and I am not disappointed. I will come back any time. " cocktel vuelve a la Vida" is the best!!! Ambiance is nice!!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is amazing!! Small restaurant with a small staff, but both food and presentation blends perfectly. The food is great! The margaritas are solid and the complimentary seafood ceviche and crispy tortilla serves as a small indication as to why your taste buds will be pleased. My 11 yr. Olds loved what they had---no kids menu for those guys. The restaurant booths are oversized, we arrived before 5pm on a Saturday, not long afterwards the place was packed. If you're in Southern MD be sure to give this place a chance, you won't be disappointed.

K L.

Yelp
Food is fresh and delicious. Ordered oysters to go and it was packed on ice with all accoutrements. Will definitely revisit. I did feel a little out of place as they seem to cater to those who spoke Spanish.
google avatar

Alonzo M.

Yelp
The food always tastes great and the service was excellent but the ambiance was home sweet home. Great prices and drinks are heavy and delicious.

Russell L.

Yelp
The food is excellent and the prices are low. Truly a bargain. Service is top notch and the cocktails are a bargain. It's funny that we can search for a lovely dinner at a fine Restaraunt but we find this locally that meets or exceeds what we were looking for. This Restaraunt is well worth your patronage.
google avatar

KW B.

Yelp
AMAZING!!!!!!! I am food snob, and this restaurant blew me away! Guacamole, and our two dinners were huge!!!!! I could eat there every single day!

Yelp
Stumbled upon Costa Azul after looking for something new to try on Yelp. It's a small place located where La Tolteca used to be. We had the fish ceviche and shrimp empanadas for starters. Both were great. The ceviche reminded me of something we'd get in Mexico. For an entree I had the shrimp with sinaloa sauce and my husband ordered the Costa Azul (skirt steak, quesadilla and chorizo). Both came with rice, fries and salad. The portions were very large. Honestly, we could've shared an entree and had either the ceviche or shrimp empanadas for a starter. But it was nice to try a variety of items on our first visit. The food and service were both great and we'll definitely be back.

Armida A.

Yelp
Food and drinks are the best.. service it's always friendly and inviting. Prices are moderate. I have a few dishes that are my very favorite! Whole fried tilapia, seafood pasta with shrimps and mussels in a special sauce fresh raw oysters . And last but not least, the margaritas with beautiful presentation to with it. Totally recommend it for anyone who's looking to enjoy quality seafood

Javier M.

Yelp
Seafood tower 3/10 Service 10/10 I feel like they need to work a little more on working with raw seafood
google avatar

Yelp
Big menu. Different style of cooking. Variety of seafood. Very tasty . Big portions. Strong drinks. Love it. Can't wait to go ba
google avatar

Jae S.

Yelp
This place made my taste buds happy. I ordered the ceviche de camarone *ceviche with raw shrimp* and pescado huachinango *whole fried red snapper* that came with rice, salad, piece of garlic bread & seasoned fries. Everything tastes good but this red snapper was delicious! It was well seasoned and cooked perfectly for my liking. Oh and the customer service was good. I need to learn Spanish though so I can come back and order everything in their native language.
google avatar

Crystal R.

Yelp
Definitely a hidden gem. The food and portions were amazing. I made the mistake of not asking what the market price was for the octopus but thats my fault. I will definitely be a regular here.
google avatar

Katherinne J.

Yelp
google avatar

Omara T.

Yelp
We went there for Cinco de Mayo the whole fried snapper was super crispy and seasoned well, one of my favorite dish! The Michelada i couldn't taste the tamarind or beer nor was it sour as i had it in Mexico. My brother-in-law ordered Coco Rellleno which was creamy, rich; and buttery so good with rice. My husband ordered the Cola de Langosta which was full of flavors but for $75 it should had came with real crabs meat not imitation meat. I would go back to try other dishes!
google avatar

Oscar V.

Yelp
Have to say with all the reviews this had I had to come here and check it out, I had the tower of seafood and the others had the seafood tacos , would u recommend the tower that's a no for me it had no flavor and to top it off was a little worm and got me sick, on the other hand the tacos where very good and that I would recommend, the service was good and the place looked nice
google avatar

Derrick C.

Yelp
If you want you want some authentic Mariscos come get some from here. This place is the best around by far. Come hungry and enjoy. Will be a regular for sure.
google avatar

Yesse R.

Yelp
Wowww! This spot is authentic! This cuisine is from a region of Mexico where they specialize in seafood. This is NOT your typical Mexican restaurant. You will find here unique dishes , distinguished pairings and absolutely delicious and fresh seafood. There is definitely a variety to choose from . They also have a bar with premium spirits! The service and hospitality were superb! The dishes are explained with much detail and the drinks were top notch. See my girl ESTHEL!! (you can't miss her smile) this place will NOT disappoint ! What an amazing addition to the Waldorf area and it is a local small business! This is my new fave! Come enjoy the experience.
google avatar

Luis S.

Yelp
Great Mariscos!! The taste is original to the Sinaloa state of Mexico. I highly recommend this place.

Andrea H.

Yelp
Always get coupons for this place but never tried it. I thought it was too good to be true based on pics and menu options but the food was actually pretty good. The drinks weren't that strong but still tasted good. The service was excellent and i would go back to try a few different items!

Rob P.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem. Go in hungry you will love it. Services I have been given here are great and top notch. I will return.
google avatar

Paul C.

Yelp
I came here to get some Mexican food as the usual places were closed. I was surprised to get some awsome tasting food. The long island was a little too heavy on the liquor side. The service was not great. I sat at the bar to have some conversation and the bartender was only talking to the regulars with the waitress coming by to only ask if everything was OK. Overall, nice place and better if you speak Spanish and are a regular.
google avatar

Katana R.

Yelp
(Waldorf) The atmosphere was nice & it was pretty crowded for 8P on a Sunday, so we sat at the bar, which was also nice. The bartender was friendly and acknowledged us right away. The food however didn't look nor sound appetizing, yet it was $$. We ordered two house margaritas, one skinny, but the cocktail menu had no prices. The complimentary chips & raw fish ceviche and habinera sauce (instead of salsa) was not good. We ended up only trusting getting guacamole ($9) and 4 shrimp empenanadas ($12). When we got the $57 bill, we had been charged $14 for the empinadas, $12 for the skinny house margarita, & $18 for the regular house margarita and they were the exact same size! Without the prices on the cocktail menu, I couldn't dispute the ridiculous cost. They fixed the empenada charge which made me realize the drinks can be priced whatever they felt like since it wasn't listed anywhere. Fool me once, we should have asked...we won't be back.

Michelle H.

Yelp
Try and avoid high peak times. We put ourselves on a waitlist since they do not take reservations on Sundays. We were told it would be an hour's wait. When we got to the restaurant an hour after being put on the waitlist, we were told it would be another 40 minutes. We went home and came back to be told it would be another 20 minutes. After a 2 1/2 hour wait, we finally got seated. The staff seemed to have a hard time clearing the empty plates off the table even though they kept trying to put more ordered food on the table. Service could certainly be improved. The food was good, but honestly, waiting so long ruined our Father's Day meal.

Andrea D.

Yelp
Snapper was fried too hard with no taste. The snapper was small for the price. O was very disappointed.
google avatar

Stephen H.

Yelp
First time here today and loved it! If you love authentic Mexicano food and seafood, this is the place for you! Quick service, nice atmosphere! We will be going back!

L A.

Yelp
The seafood, steak, tacos, chips, salsa, and soups were incredible ! Everything, including their their signature Margherita, was outstanding ! Live music as well. The singer could sing ! We were all dancing in our seats ! Hats off to this hidden treasure ! Please go to this Authentic Mexican restaurant ! You will absolutely love it !
google avatar

Lenn R.

Yelp
Costa Azul has it all-delicious food, stellar service, and great ambiance. The hubs and I have been meaning to try this place for a while, and I'm glad we finally made it! We were served ceviche on the house, which was perfect since we were planning to order it anyway. Our entire order included: the guacamole, oysters, whole fried red snapper, and the camarones zarandeado. Every single dish was amazing, not to mention the pricing is quite reasonable. PG County/Charles County residents-do not sleep on this place. Support small business and EAT HERE NOW! I know we're certainly coming back.
google avatar

Jennifer D.

Yelp
This is definitely seafood with a cultural flair. Don't mistake it for Mexican, it is not a mexican restaurant. Plenty of delicious flavors, large portions and reasonable price point. The service was a little slow but it could be because each order is made to order.
google avatar

Paulita R.

Yelp
This place is a must. The food is delicious. The staff was Friendly. Can't wait for their other location in VA to open. I had the molcajete it's truly a dish I still think about how yummy it was.

Yelp
This restaurant was ABSOLUTELY AWFUL. No air conditioning, no clean table and the food was slowly disgusting.
