Costa Sur is a great addition to Corpus Christi if you’re craving something outside the usual Tex-Mex or seafood scene. The food we had was genuinely tasty and felt very true to Peruvian flavors. We ordered the Peruvian ceviche, lomo saltado, firecracker shrimp, and chocolate cake — everything was well prepared and flavorful, especially the lomo saltado, which had that perfect mix of savory and comforting.
The one disappointment was that they had run out of sweet potatoes for the ceviche. If you know Peruvian food, you know how important the sweet potato is to balance the citrus and heat, so that took a little away from what otherwise would have been an excellent dish. I’d also love to see yucca fries added to the menu — they’re a classic Peruvian staple and would be an amazing side here.
Service deserves a huge shout-out. There was only one server working the floor and she was absolutely hustling while still staying upbeat, attentive, and friendly. She really carried the experience and made us feel well taken care of despite being stretched thin.
Overall, it was a really nice experience and I’d definitely come back. With just a few tweaks to the menu and keeping those traditional elements in stock, this place could easily become one of the best spots in Corpus for something different and authentic.
