California’s Prop 12, The Anti-Animal Cruelty Law, Delayed Until 2024 - Eater SF

"Costco, the home of cheap hot dogs and enormous bundles of cost-effective goods, is also coming to the lucky city of Brentwood. The East Bay Times reports the local planning commission approved a 154,852-square-foot warehouse, complete with gas pumps and hundreds of parking spaces. This new location will also be on Lone Tree Way, which is looking less and less lonely all the time." - Paolo Bicchieri

I had a very disappointing experience at this Costco. While shopping, I accidentally hit my toenail, which cracked and caused me a lot of pain. I was still looking for an item I needed, so when I got to the register, I let the cashier know what happened and asked for assistance to grab the item since I was in pain. The cashier called her supervisor, Victoria, who said, “How come they didn’t grab it while they were on the floor?” — which felt unnecessary because I would have grabbed it if I had seen it earlier. I just needed a little help. They told me to sit down, and I waited over 30 minutes. When I got up to ask again, the cashier shouted for help and finally got a young employee to grab the item. However, he continued doing other tasks first and did not prioritize my request. After waiting another 15 minutes, I went to the return desk to speak to a supervisor. He did not seem interested in resolving the issue. After explaining my situation, I finally said, “Forget about it, you guys are too busy,” and he just said, “Okay, thank you.” I left frustrated, still in pain, and without the item I came for. I expected at least some empathy or urgency given the situation, but I felt completely dismissed.

This Costco has excellent lighting inside the store. It makes me want to stay longer than I normally would. It is super well managed in terms of displays. I have actually seen a few times when the General Manager and her other managers would pitch in to help keep the shelves, display shelves….etc in neat conditions. Oh! their “all hands on deck “ policy help to move us quickly at checkout so that all the other members and I never have to wait for a long time. I have been to almost every Costco locations in the Bay Area plus the ones in Sacramento too. I would rank it as number 2 in terms of all the things I mentioned above plus the cleanliness of the store. If you must know, the first is the Business Center in South San Francisco. But that was when they first opened. I have not revisited since then. One last thing about shopping and parking at Costco - I find it to be the safest place to park and shop. Their newly remodeled optical center in the store makes you feel like you are actually at a store. Kudos to the team at this store. This will be my 22nd year as an Executive member of Costco. April 18,2025 I was there this week and noticed that they are now carrying a lot of new Latino/Hispanic food items such as hominy, horchata, 2 types of dried chiles, corn husks, Maseca, tres leches pudding(flan), pupusa, tamales, cheeses for quesadillas, tacos, enchiladas…..and many more. It makes sense since more than 40% of the residents in Antioch, Pittsburg and Bay Point are Spanish speakers.

I had a disappointing experience with the manager, Sam, at this Costco location. Instead of being helpful and supportive, Sam came across as dismissive and unapproachable. When I asked for assistance, I felt rushed and that my concerns weren’t being taken seriously. As a customer, I expect respect and clear communication, but unfortunately, I left the store feeling frustrated and undervalued. Management should set a positive example for staff, and in this case, I don’t feel that standard was met. Do better Manager SAM! You just ruined my day

Update: Costco Optical - To be seen you need to make an appointment. I really liked the optometrist, she was really nice. My appointment took maybe about 30 minutes. It’s helpful if you have a record with them it goes faster. I mainly came to get prescriptions for contact but she gives you both for glasses and contacts. They take insurance. But if you don’t have one, it’s very affordable. And you can order your glasses and contacts here as well. —————— It’s so funny how when a lady asked me to apply for an executive club membership, I said “no” because I don’t come here that often. I’ve been coming here a lot more and more than what I said to the lady when I first applied for membership years ago. I really love that there is a Costco close to me. This Costco has great selection of items and I always get what I need. The one con about going to Costco is everything is big. What I mean is if I need just a carton of milk it comes in a pack of three. But the price is right. Costco always has great holiday items. Costumer service is ok. I rarely need to ask for help. Unless I go to Optical or their foodcourt area and then when you check out. That’s the only real reaction with employees at Costco.

Tyler at the membership counter was super helpful! He helped us, called an agent for us, and kept checking in on us while having a great attitude & helping other customers with returns and other problems. If you need anything, go here!

Our visit to Costco in Antioch was a pleasant experience, particularly with the seamless transition of holiday items in and out, showcasing their consistent attention to seasonal offerings throughout the store. With spring in full swing, I noticed an expanded selection of plants, including several varieties I hadn't typically seen at Costco such as various dwarf fruits, all available in ample quantities. This focus on seasonal diversity enhances the overall value of the shopping experience, making it effortless to discover something fresh during every visit.

Great prices for bulk buying, especially for larger families. Great customer service and a wide range of products, everything from food, car servicing, alcohol, jewelry, healthcare including pharmacy, cell phones, household products and vacation packages and the list goes on from there. I would high encourage anyone to give it a tr! You won't be disappointed and your membership price is worth the savings, and most like would pay for itself in that one day.

It so freaking disappointing, seems like they didn’t put the hubcap on correctly and once I got home…… I noticed my hubcap missing. Had to call to make sure it still not at the shop and they forgot. They check the camera and said they put it back on…. It a freaking shame, lesson learned. Always double check their work before leaving. Now I need to find a replacement. What a hassle.
