How HRT Changed the Way I Eat | Eater

"A large warehouse-style shopping trip perfected into an efficient route—first the personal care aisle for Kirkland-brand minoxidil, then a pallet of Diet Coke, and finally the snack aisles in search of a 30-pack of individually portioned “snacking nuts”—highlights the store’s bulk, value-oriented offerings. Filling a cart with three pounds of nuts became both a practical purchase and a symbolic moment, as the author connected these value packs, membership culture (Gold Star card), and the store’s masculine-coded inventory to a new sense of belonging during medical transition. The visit culminates at the self-checkout when an out-of-date membership card prompts the clerk to ask, “Is she here with you?”; the clerk ultimately waves the author through, a quiet but meaningful gesture of acceptance that lets him leave with his nuts and a reinforced feeling of being seen as a man." - AC Lamberty

Google
It was unbelievably packed today. Like bumper to bumper on the freeway. It was very alive and felt very festive. We had lots of samples to taste. The lines were fast. Bought pizza and hot dogs to go. Very convenient. Still excellent prices. I enjoyed Costco.

Google
This Costco is the worst one I’ve ever been to. There aren’t many products available—this is actually my first time leaving a Costco with only five items in my cart. The staff was unfriendly and unhelpful, and I definitely won’t be coming back.

Google
Costco in Burbank usually has good deals, but quality control can be hit or miss. I’ve had to return several items after taking them home. One time it was a lamb rack, it had a horrible, rotten smell when I opened it. Yesterday, I bought a watermelon that looked fine on the outside but turned out to be old and tasteless on the inside. Returns are easy, which is a plus, but I wish the food quality was more consistent. It’s frustrating to bring home something you’re looking forward to, only to end up tossing it.

I love Costco I just feel like they need to expand their buildings here. So many people and this time of year they will run over and into you at this location with no problem. I didn't see a lot of staff at all. But what I will say is Costco keeps their stores fully stocked on every level. So great job there.

Google
A quick shout out to Rene, one of the best customer service employee I've had the pleasure of meeting and I've shopped at many Costco locations. Rene made it a point to remember returning customers and greets everyone as we enter the store. I've been shopping here for the last 20 years and I've seen many employees come and go. Rene is by far one of the best and deserves a 2 thumbs up👍👍 for his above and beyond service. I look forward to seeing Rene every time I visit. Thank you Rene.

Google
Costco is a fun place to shop. It has all the things that go into your home. Samples are available between 11:30 and 3:30. These are often a interesting hit with most shoppers. The gasoline is at a good price although you may have to wait a little longer in line than you're used to.

This review is for the self checkout lady working on 12/14/25 around 6pm. Extremely rude and condescending. She started off our experience by yelling "No alcohol at self checkout!" when we had avocado oil, then continued her screaming with "Scan your Costco card first!" I overheard her being rude to others too acting as if using Costco self checkout is rocket science and the customers are idiots. To top it off the flowers we got had no tag so she made another worker go take a picture of the barcode. That worker never ended up coming back so my husband went instead to do his job for him, taking a picture of the barcode which clearly showed the description and corresponding picture of the flowers in the photo. She came by our screen and said "$19.99 ya no I don't think so" and voided our entire transaction essentially calling us liars even though we showed her the photo. We left self checkout and went to stand in line to pay and she made a second worker go check the price as she was talking about us with him stating how the flowers are not that cheap blah blah blah and again as if we were lying. As we stood in line I heard the worker report back to her on her walkie-talkie that it was in fact $19.99. After over hearing that, I asked her "$19.99 right?" and she turned around nodded then turned back around without an apology. I have never had an issue navigating self checkout at Costco by myself without the military style guidance of a worker causing people anxiety on a nice Saturday evening.

Great Costco location — clean, organized, and the staff is always helpful. Even when it’s busy, everything moves fast. One of my favorite Costco stores to shop at.

Yelp
Found a shaded table despite being busy :) Efficent, well-managed Costco on all levels including their pharmacy that doesn't price gouge like CVS. After ordering at kiosk you're handed the food. A foodsnob (or "foodie"!) subhobby is to quietly identify food safety and recipe violations whether it's an imperfection or low x medium x high level threat. Only the food court @ Costco Burbank I've never witnessed anything. Costco staff handing out meals with complete hair covering, pristine gloving + heat protection, and all surfaces being spotless as well as the food being stored safely. New caramel brownie sundae was wonderful especially since I have preference for vanilla x fruity flavors and my boyfriend enjoys chocolate candy-like so it's a cool compromise :-)

Yelp
Costco is the best! Great prices, exciting deals and the fashion! I am now a devotee of the food court. The frozen coffee drink is delicious and addictive. If you can find a better deal than the long beef dog with a 20 oz drink (refill too!) for $1.50, get back to me. I want to know. Also, the hot turkey, cheese, red onion and pesto on ciabatta is a great deal. I must give a shout out to the optical department. Everyone there is phenomenal, but SAL is practically a god! THANK YOU!

Yelp
This is probably the Costco I visit most often, and it's almost always busy--weekdays and weekends alike. I try to come on Thursday or Friday afternoons when it's a bit more manageable. It's the best time to fuel up and stock up on groceries, especially since many people are either still at work or making plans to go out. Weekends, on the other hand, are packed with the 9-to-5 crowd running errands. And just overall chaos since there's so many people in SoCal and know Costco deals are where it's at. The expanded parking lot has definitely helped ease the congestion, and getting in and out is much smoother now. Customer service is efficient, which makes the overall experience better. I particularly like this location because they carry more items geared toward Asian shoppers. I often find new products to try, and most of them are solid picks. I always grab the thinly sliced beef for hot pot nights, and lately, I've been loving the prawn ha gao in the frozen food section. The produce section can be hit or miss though. Items like the Caesar salad mix tend to wilt quickly. It was so upsetting because one of my bags had browned the very next day and needed it for a party. That said, I usually don't bother returning items, knowing I'm already getting good value for what I pay. Overall, this is my favorite Costco location, followed closely by Burbank. The Hawthorne location is also a solid choice, especially since it's so close to a Costco Business Center but that's for another day.

Yelp
Great service. Thank you Tanya & Joseph at customer service for making the time to help me with my return.

Yelp
Love this location! My favorite Costco location! The staff are so friendly and the only location where the food workers care about my allergies and accommodation the best I can. I've seen the dude who makes pizza at the Los Feliz location put his hand IN the trash can with his gloves on and then make pizza with that same glove. That nonsense does NOT happen at the Burbank location. It's clean. All the workers are nice! They load up my car for me. So nice!

Yelp
Costco is our go to store for food, household supplies and of course gasoline . And while there fill up your other tank with a hot nicely prepared hotdog and drink for a really good price of $1.50. In this day and age you just can't beat it.

Yelp
If you like people and extra long lines then this Costco is the one you are looking for. Yes, I understand Costco has lines. But, compared to my Cypress Costco, this Costco has even longer lines that extend down the aisles. I am going to give you directions. Head towards the pharmacy. That long line back there is self check out. You wont have to deal with engaging with anyone. Parking here is hard. There is not enough outlets to get in and out of. As for samples. They get an A plus. They had a ton happening. As for Coke in the food court. Nope. Not yet! Other than that. Its your regular Costco.

Yelp
I am so grateful to live so close to a costco coincidentally wherever I have lived! We get gas from here, do online orders for groceries, and recently just went in for an optometry appointment with Dr. Khoury and her team. I was able to call in 2 days before and get the appointment time I was hoping for. They had a few minimal forms for me to complete and by 1030, I was able to see Dr Khoury and head out by 11am. Costco was bustling, even their optometry department. I didnt need to update my glasses but the frames and team helping out fellow shoppers getting numbers to get support with their shopping experience. Definitely worth the value and in the quality of service and products available!

Yelp
When it comes to water, we prefer gallons instead of bottles, so Costco has been a mainstay in our grocery runs. We normally prefer the Van Nuys location due to proximity, but recently they've dropped the ball on their water gallons - they're perpetually out of the Kirkland gallons, instead only having the gross Arrowhead gallons. We have started to drive out to the Burbank location just for the Kirkland gallons (which they always have in stock), but we also pick up some other things if they're not available in Van Nuys. Burbank's Costco has been less hectic than Van Nuys, so it's always nice to have some extra space while walking around. The people are more chill, which is also a plus. Parking still gets sporty no matter what Costco location you go to, but that's to be expected. The food court here is outside the main entrance so it's probably a bust when it gets windy/rainy (or get it to go). Costco pizza always hits the spot and makes you feel like a champion after spending way past your budget at Costco.

Yelp
I would say this is my favorite Costco in the area even though it's always busy and the gas station is a mess. It's relatively easy to find parking here and the check out lines move quickly. I love the food samples at this location. Of all the Costcos I've been to in the area, this one has the best food samples and most food samples consistently. I even tried one of their pies once.

Yelp
I have been frequenting this Costco for quite some time now and it's one of my favorites! It can get really busy so you really have to find the perfect time to go. Now with the new perk for executive members maybe it'll solve a few things. The parking lot has 3 different entrances so once you're familiar it's easier to navigate even though when it's busy you're kind of stuck there trying to maneuver your way out of the parking lot. The inside is usually nice and clean and stocked up. You can find a variety of items here. Visited today and they had some Christmas things already out in July oh my... these get sooner and sooner by the year. Some ribbons and the nativity scene. They also still have a lot of summer items out like floaties a slip and slide and etc.

Yelp
This Costco is always busy and hard to find parking space. There are people who like to park in front so they block the way and make it harder for people to find parking spot. Some of the people who give out samples can be really rude. Even if you don't take any samples and just look at the products they sell, they give you dirty looks like you're bothering them. They usually have most of the products in stock. No complaints about items being out of stock. This Costco is a good place for learning how to drive. People leave their carts in the aisles and you need to learn how to find your way out or where to park your cart. Other Costco's that I have been to are more organized and parking is less headache. I would suggest going early in the morning or late evening for gas station. During the day it gets really busy and lines are really long.

Yelp
March 28, 2025 I'm on the hunt for fresh eggs! I left work and arrived around 530 pm. I found a parking space in my usual spot, far away from the entrance. I'm the first few minutes after scanning my card, I already spotted eggs in another customers grocery cart. It's been a long time since I shopped at the Burbank warehouse. I thought the dairy cooler was located in the back left, NOOO! I had to ask an employee stocking one of the freezers. He pointed towards the side of the warehouse. Oh yeah, I forgot. I hurried as these were golden. There were maybe two pallets of eggs. One was cage free, the other was free range. I choose the free range as both were the same price, $7.69. Oof, supply and demand, the principles of economics. Ouch, but I had to grab the limit of 3 packages to share with my family members. I can't risk that the other Costco location will have eggs in stock. That's all I got because the new hot buys don't start until tomorrow. March 21, 2025 Spur of the moment decision to go to Costco after work to browse the hot buys and also men's clothing that are selling fast. I didn't wait too long as I was able to find only a few items that are my sizes. To say the least, I came away with a clothing haul since they have no dressing rooms. There were blue jeans and casual pants (about $20 ea) that I tossed in the cart, a leather belt, an Ohtani Dodgers shirt $30 (I'm a band wagoner; I'm #GKG diehard). Then I started my food shopping. I tossed in easy pre made stuff for convenience. KS Egg Bites with bacon, have to try it. Kevin's Korean style beef, have to try it, on sale! I picked up Thai style noodles, paht thai, have to try it if it's at all good. Teton Grass fed polish sausage pack of 12. I grabbed the cauliflower crust pizza but then put it back as the freezer is still full. I grabbed a rotisserie chicken against my own judgement. I despise the plastic bags. There were plenty of chicken probably the rush had already passed an hour ago. I grabbed the ginormous Miss Vickie's Jalapeno Kettle Chips, on sale! Should not have done it, but I did! Damn it! They're addicting! Also grabbed a huge can of KS peanuts, it's been too long! These are addicting too! The self check out line was long but it moves quickly. That dang machine closed my tab to quick after 5 pairs of pants! WTH... Had to do another transaction for the test of the stuff. Even at 6pm, it's still better than coming on the weekends! I was out of the lot by 7 pm, I stopped at the nitrogen station to set the tire pressures. The days of going to the food court are done. I went home and ate half a rotisserie chicken after putting away the cold food items. What the heck? It's holiday shopping time! The parking lot was 95% full. I found a few spaces all the way in the back of the lot.

Yelp
Well I had to write an updated review as it's been a few since my last review. First of all, I never go in here expecting the the highest quality or highest service cuz it's Costco. Duh! Lol This Costco is HUGE. If you wanted to get some steps in, come and walk around here. They have updated the entry to where you have to scan your Costco card and your picture pops up on a screen facing them. I don't mind it as it was really easy to enter using that. Also, they have an air pump by their tire center. It is a smart air pump where you just input the number for your tire and it automatically shuts off when it reaches the number. Very easy and very nice!! Their food court is awesome as well. Here you place your order using the kiosks and then go wait in line to the windows to get your food. IF you ordered a whole pizza, you have to go-to the side window to pick it up as you will not be able to pick the whole pizza at the windows that you pick up the other items. AND get the cookie. It is LARGE and totally worth the price. They serve it you warm. Omg... It was sooooooo yummy!! And inside, well get ready to walk cuz this place is nice and huge. They have the TV's and electronics right at the entrance. Also, I LEARNED recently that they have a coffee bean grinder right at the exit. So if you buy whole beans at Costco, you can grind them right there before you leave. I never knew so I never bought the whole beans but live and learn. The only thing that I was not a fan of is that they removed some of the lines to add in some self check out lanes. I am not a fan of those as I always seem to have issues with them. Other than that, the samples were plentiful and at this time of year, it was FULL of Christmas items. I honestly love this Costco as it carries more items than other Costcos that I have been to here in the Los Angeles area.

Yelp
I have always enjoyed my membership at Costco... I still do, but today, I had a very unpleasant experience with the employee who puts a line through your receipt, pretending like he is actually doing something. He is the gatekeeper to the outside world, and no one gets through without his approval. I have a disability and just needed to sit. My mother was behind me with the receipt talking to customer service. He had no consideration for my well-being and puffed up his chest and told me I needed to clear a path as I was about to pass out. I took a step forward... he stopped me, and I explained my situation, and he told me I needed to walk all the way back to optometry to sit down. I get rules and procedures, but human interaction and grace should have been applied in this scenario. I have a disability you big jerk. I hope you have a blessed day. Costco management... please explain discretion to your gate keepers. Thank you. On another note, Good Selection, Great value if you need 100 of something! Unfortunately, I had to remove a star due to this experience. You can earn it back.

Yelp
This Costco has always provided me with excellent service! I picked up my new eyeglasses and sunglasses today, and wow, I'm impressed! So glad my insurance is accepted here. Great quality, great value, and even better customer service!

Yelp
We normally go to the Pacoima Costco, but this time, we decided to drop by this one as the Pacoima store was missing some items on our last visit. Long story short, we could not find parking. DO NOT COME HERE ON WEEKENDS. Parking is horrible. We drove all the way to the back, and it was still packed. There were no spaces. Cars are waiting at the beginning of lanes, hoping someone will move. We could not find parking, left, and drove a few minutes to the Los Angeles store. Found parking right away. DO NOT COME HERE ON WEEKENDS

Yelp
Love Costco, starting to hate this store. 11:30 am on a Wednesday- lines everywhere, you can't even shop in half the store. Who manages this place? So many of the other Costcos in SoCal are so nice. What happened here?

Cale M.

Yelp
Supervisor Lupe harassed and discriminated against me because I didn't fit her idea of somebody who should be purchasing expensive items. After initially being denied my purchase because of mis-matching Costco card and credit card, I returned shortly after with my matching costco card. I was once again initially denied my purchase, now being asked for an ID. My debit card was a company card, my costco card was also a business card, there are no individual names on it so an ID is useless. Finally, the cashier took my card and costco membership to the back and came back a few minutes later saying it was okay. I purchased my items, and attempted to be on my way. Once I got to the exit, my receipt was checked and marked off and I was attempting to leave when Lupe approached me and rudely said "Didn't I say you couldn't purchase those?", after I had driven to and from Costco twice to retrieve the card that she told me I needed. She never once clarified if I had gotten it, and regardless it wasn't her business because I already had it approved. I told her I did purchase it and that I would be on my way, and she was very clearly annoyed that I was able to make my purchase(?) I've never once experienced this kind of treatment at any business. I make weekly purchases at this Costco with the same card, usually averaging more than the cost of this purchase, however I left shaken up and disturbed at how I was treated and now have a very different view of this location and particularly their supervising staff. There was absolutely no reason for that to take place today, and I now feel uncomfortable returning.

Yelp
Talk about customer service. Antonio was working the produce area. I asked him is this price correct on the apple. Antonio took charge and investigated the price. He confirmed the price and changed the sign. He took charged and didn't wait for someone else to take care of the issue. He was awesome!

Janice W.

Yelp
How can you not like Costco? There is something for everyone here and at a great price. Try the Kirkland Irish Whiskey. It's really good. And you can't beat the roast chicken...so delicious. The lines can be long, but they move fast

Dori P.

Yelp
There's not one word I can say that is not kind. They have the best staff always helpful always with a smile and those pumpkin pies are so good thank you Costco Costco for being amazing.

Yelp
I personally find most Costcos terrifying. They're so enormous and filled with so many people who have brought their entire families. Nevertheless, I braved a trip to Costco today with a friend of mine who's a member. Being the weekend the place was, to no surprise, packed. Huge families with huger carts. And with the current heat wave in Los Angeles, the water machines were broken. Big boo. And of course, being September they had, not only Halloween but Christmas decorations at the same time! On the other hand the folks dishing out samples were generally pleasant. With the one exception of a woman who I think had entered a disassociative state: she kept uttering the same string of sentences like some bizarre mantra: "Try one. They're full of nutrients. Bring them home to your family. Try one. They're full of nutrients..." Over and over again. When my friend had bought what he came for, a kitchen appliance and some healthy snacks, we got in line. Now, when I saw the main check-out lines I was given pause: we'd be waiting in life for at least 45 minutes. However, we were able to get through the self-check in minutes, even with a high purchase item. Good to know for the future. The line for gas was, again, unsurprisingly long. However, we got through it pretty quickly. And, honestly, anywhere you can find reasonably priced gas in Los Angeles is an oasis. So, Costco. Still personally terrifying. But also sometimes useful?

Yelp
Another win for Costco. After eye surgeries progressives help. Got my first pairs at Costco perfect. Wanted more. Went to America's best (wanted to avoid Costco traffic). Picked them up today. I told the guy it was blurry and making me ill. The guy at America's best said hold head higher and wait a day and If i bought the wider more expensive Lenses . Drove a few blocks to Costco. Oddly it was packed but found a quick spot in front . Eyes is usually long wait. But waited ten min. Had two other pairs I liked. Two people measured me twice. Then they checked my pair I just got. They said the bifocal line was too high a. Not me at all . They said Go back to AB and get them to fix it. Dont wait .Tell them you saw an eye doctor. They even marked the line for me Went back to americas best. With the line marked on the glasses And fully just refunded the glasses. Loved the frames not the service. Didn't trust Another win for Costco. Cashier on receipt says Hamilcar but a very nice lady remembered me and helped too.

Yelp
Great prices, bulk deals, and honestly, I go as much for the samples and $1.50 hot dog combo as I do for the shopping. It does get crowded (especially on weekends), but they move the lines fast and the staff is always helpful. Just don't forget your membership card!

Harcourt F.

Yelp
Whenever I tell people that I sometimes end up shopping at this Costco, I hear some version of the same sentence: "But that's the worst one in the chain!" And it really is. It's just gotten worse over the years. I was there on a recent weekday at midday and you would have thought it was Saturday morning from the body-to-body crowds. Half the things in the sale circular were not on display. And, in order to shop for health, hygiene and beauty products, you pretty much have to run the gauntlet because these sections are so narrow, poorly laid out and entirely too close to the registers. The line for self-checkout snakes through the store, blocking the pharmacy and making it extremely difficult to shop for some items that are tucked into a corner. They have a staff member at the front of the line, valiantly trying to get customers to an open register and assist as needed, but where they really need someone is farther back on the line of 30 or 40 carts, directing people, answering questions & stopping the most obnoxious people from cutting the line. This being Costco, though, that's not going to happen. If you MUST shop at Costco, save your soul and avoid this one.

Yelp
Getting my Costco membership was one of The best things I ever did. I particularly love having a safe, cheaper place to fill up my gas tank, cheaper alcohol, being able to stock up on items like coffee/water/snacks/laundry detergent. I also got the credit card so I can get cash back at the end of the year and used Costco to book a great deal to Hawaii and got a digital voucher back as a result. I love it!
google avatar

Yelp
Costco is always an excellent place to pick up groceries, household items, cleaning supplies, etc. Check out the various Gift Cards for California Pizza Kitchen, Macaroni Grill, Mortons, etc. Twice a year, Costco offers CPK gift Cards $69.99 for 2 $50 each for a total value of $100! That's the best deal. Whenever that happens, i buy $500 worth for $349.95! What a deal! Also, i like that no matter how busy or how many people standing in line to check out, Costco is so fast! You can get out of there within minutes! I was there for Thanksgiving shopping and pucked up all my groceries, checked out and waited to be picked up in 20 minutes! Remember to buy Costco Gas!
google avatar

Yelp
Not very sigma. Lines are SO long. You wait 20 minutes looking for parking. My food insecure son was super hungry but they were out of his favorite. It's also unhealthy. Think about it... MSG and fat loaded bread.

Yelp
Horrible customer service, extremely long lines, dangerous parking lot . Not worth the aggravation and time to save a few dollars

Robert M.

Yelp
Love this place, can get busy but always has what u need. Clean and organized. The gas there is the cheapest in all of Burbank too. Very nice and helpful employees
google avatar

Yelp
Always crowded but love coming here to this costco . Love there pizza and and hot dogs.

Yelp
Costco doesn't need an introduction as everyone knows this supermarket Costco is a great store for buying items in bulk at competitive prices. They offer a wide selection of groceries, home appliances, and household goods. At Costco, you can buy delicious Swiss cheese, get your vision checked, and enjoy a hot dog for just $1.50. The quality and price are consistently impressive, which is why so many people choose to shop here. Despite the store's popularity and potential queues, the staff works efficiently, so the wait doesn't hinder making excellent purchases. In short, it's the perfect place for bulk shopping, saving money, and finding great deals

Yelp
No fault of Costco, but the customers here are so rude... Skipped our usual Costco in Pacoima, CA; so I can check out this location and Yelp it. Big mistake, next trip going back to Pacoima! Quality/Quantity - Costco is consistent, but the people here are rude. Non stop honking around us while in line for gas. Almost a musical. Glad I am patient. Then the people inside were rude also, and it was crazy busy. They were so aggressive while walking down the aisles and were almost fighting for those free samples. If I had more free time I would sit on one of their couches and people watch, just to entertain myself. On top of all that, they have only a basic beer selection. Atmosphere - Consistent. Outdoor food court. Open 7 days a week, see picture. Poor drivers, so I parked at the VERY end of Costco, so I could get out quickly! Service - N/A, self service. Price - $4.59 a gallon, 10¢ more than San Leandro Costco. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success at this location since 1984. Congrats on all your success since 1976, since Price Club. Now you are the 5th largest retailer in the world and #10 on the Fortune 500. 804 warehouses worldwide, and 558 in the US. 1980 IPO. 1993 Price Club and Costco merger. 1997 Rebranded all locations to Costco. 2020 105.5 million members.

Yelp
Second time coming to this Costco. I have gone to one in Marina and the one in Pacoima before. Since the one in Marina del Rey is now too far for me, I have tried this one and the Pacoima Costco. I prefer this one than the one in Pacoima because it seems more efficient when checking out. I also prefer the food court outside and not inside like the Pacoima Costco.

Yelp
This store has everything you could possibly want and it has samples of food that you can try to see if you wanna buy. I have a Costco card and I also use their gas. Costco has food, clothes, appliances, furniture. You name it, they have it.

Yelp
Definitely bigger Costco warehouse here with large inventory catering to Korean and Jewish communities in Burbank, you know that when you see fresh whole octopus and smoked whole fish at the seafood area plus a whole lot more stuffs, so count me in since I don't get to find any of those items in my local Costco, I bought pretty much everything I didn't have a chance to buy, I think the downsizes of this warehouse is the demands too high, while the supplies couldn't get to them fast enough, that explained about a lot of empty shelves included the rotisserie chicken, also a lot of things were on sales here, people are just get in and buy buy buy. If you're like me, and try to get away from evening traffic of Burbank, come in here and shop :)

Yelp
I HATE the fact that I have to say this about a place I like so much. I was helping my mom out to buy some groceries because her knee is injured. My experiences are fine. I do wanna but today I was at checkout while my mom was sitting right at the end of the cash registers on a bench. The cashier named IRMA/ RMA/ MA scanned my mom's membership and noticed it wasn't me so I had to point out right at the end of the register with her sitting down and I let her know that I am also using her bank card as per Costco rules. She continues on a rant saying that I shouldn't be doing that and that there is a rule in California restricting this. I had to let her know that I know about the road, but it was fine because it was her bank paying per transaction. And again, she wouldn't stop telling me that I did something. I asked for her name and went towards the managers as I'm waiting for one I see her at the register with a new lady talking about and clearly pointing at me. I didn't like the way she took it so I did way back at her implying I knew she was talking about me. I work in customer service and I know how hard it is some days but at the same time I let the manager know that she is the last person gets me and for me, she left a sour taste in my mouth. My mother says that's not the first interaction with that woman but it is my first encounter. I definitely think the customer service in the registers area definitely needs improving on and maybe even some supervision. Because I hate that that happened to me ONCE and to my mother MORE THAN ONCE. This shouldn't happen if the rules are being followed. I get it rules are rules but if we are following them clear as day why is that still an issue with her/them ??

Yelp
Costco is one of my favorite stores. This is the location I've come to many many times in my life. The food court hot dogs are great, sesame seed buns, free condiments, only $1.50 including a drink. One time in the refrigerator room, I couldn't find any green beans sadly, but I found some carrots and broccoli so that made up for it; I like carrots. Anyways, if you want to go to a store with everything you could possibly need whether it be furniture (Ikea is better for that) groceries, clothing, toys, electronics, prescription glasses, medicine, cleaning supplies, gas for your vehicles? Costco is great for all of that if you're stocking up. Costcos are very easy to navigate, and most locations have the same layout, so you'll do fine whether you're in Arizona, or Florida. I love you, Costco Also Costco, please stock up on the green beans.

Yelp
I love Costco. I haven't been here since November so I took my sweet time today to see what new products they have and also to stock up on essential. Today I saw this mandarin tree for $129.99 potted in a beautiful white pot. No need to replant, you can keep it in here in your patio or front yard. So lovely. We already ate half of the fruit once I got home. So juicy and sweet. Only at Costco you will find something so amazing at a reasonable price. Love it

Yelp
After being bounced around from one Costco representative to another, we landed on Ron. Ron in the red Costco vest for which I'm assuming was a manager or supervisor - and if he isn't, he should be made one! Thanks so much Ron for assisting with our couch purchase this past Sunday. You were extra patient and accommodating to us, and we greatly appreciated it! You were awesome!

Yelp
Asked an employee if they had any more Kirkland toilet paper and he said no that they were out of stock and on the way out , the storage door was open only to see they had a full stock of it. Lazy employees !!! Went on 4/7/25 at 7:00 pm

Yelp
Had a prescription called in not once, but two times, between 9-10am! I arrived at 4:00pm to a rude drop off clerk who had no record of the prescription, then had to have a manager listen to all the unheard voicemail messages! Manager confirmed but her excuse was they have been busy and I need to wait 10-15 minutes with no apologies! Not customer service friendly at all!!!

Yelp
I'm not sure if management reads this but if you do, someone needs to promote Patty in optometry area! I went to several other eye glass stores and no one would touch my glasses. They wouldn't even try. They were all about selling me new glasses before any attempt was done with my favorite pair. I waited for my number to be called, super anxious of what type of response I would get showing them my glasses. When Patty finally called my number, she greeted me with a smile, I was already off to a better start than the previous places I stopped at. She looked at them, looked at me and said she would try her bestest to not break them but there was a good chance they may not make it. I wanted to cry, I think Patty sensed my irrational emotional connection to them and to make me feel better, said she couldn't make any promises but she would try her hardest to magically fix them. She did!! I can't thank her enough!

Yelp
I used to have a well-oiled system for shopping at Costco. It was the go-to place for saving money, especially if you were careful with perishables and knew your way around their unbeatable produce and low-priced brands. However, my recent experiences have been disheartening and concerning on multiple fronts. Let me start with the food quality. Tyson Breaded Chicken Nuggets, which I thought was a reliable choice, turned out to be a health hazard. How could I think it was a reliable choice, given Tyson's history with over 29 recalls? After consuming them, I suffered severe food poisoning that landed me in the emergency room. This incident speaks to broader issues of quality control and safety that Costco should be addressing more seriously. What's more alarming is the lack of responsiveness when I reported this issue to Costco. My incident report seems to have been lost or disregarded entirely, which is deeply troubling. Beyond food safety, the overall shopping environment has deteriorated significantly. What was once an organized and efficient store has become chaotic. I've had my foot run over by careless shoppers multiple times, and the general atmosphere is stressful, with rudeness and aggression becoming far too common. Combine this with prices that have inexplicably doubled or tripled in some cases, and it's hard not to feel let down. I understand economic factors might be at play here, but as a consumer, I expect more from a company like Costco. The variety of products has also taken a hit, often leaving me with only one option for items I used to have a selection of. For example, there's no longer a vegetarian pizza option; instead of the regular crust, there's only a cauliflower crust available, which limits choices for those who prefer traditional options. This trend, coupled with the apparent decline in customer care, makes me question whether Costco still values its customers as much as it once did. In conclusion, my trust in Costco has been severely shaken. It's no longer just about finding the best deals; it's about feeling safe and valued as a customer. I've saved the tainted food in case it needs to be examined further, but what's truly needed is a reassessment of Costco's priorities and a commitment to restoring the trust and satisfaction of their loyal shoppers. Yelp
The Costco interior is great, but it is always an effort to find a parking spot. I think in the future they might need to put in a parking garage here. The place inside is clean, the cashiers are also nice. They have a great variety of foods and goods at great prices. I like that they sell organic produce. The cashiers work hard and they are fast too. I get gas here too. Although the lines are longer since the gasoline prices went up, I don't mind. Just plan to wait 10-20 minutes to save a few dollars if it's worth it to you. It's also hit or miss with the employees out there. They have all been very nice, whenever I've interacted with them. This morning I was really surprised when one of them (short man with brown hair) made a comment about a woman in a van, implying that she was a bad driver. She was just stopped for a while talking to someone. No one was behind her waiting. I guess some of those employees have nothing better to do out there.

Yelp
This used to be my happy place but it has turned into shopping hell. They've crowded the aisles so close that you can't get by each other and closed down so many checkout lanes that you stand in incredibly long aisle blocking lines. This place has really gone downhill!!

Yelp
We love buying our groceries at Costco Burbank. But some employee's here are racist. They don't like asian with brown skin. I always get an attitude with this person at the exit area who checked the receipt. His name is Miguel, he is not friendly . He is racist to asian. And also this afternoon when we are checking out our groceries, this guy at the cashier was so rude and asking us to flip all the groceries so it's showing the barcodes so he can scan fast. is that a new members costco policy? Where's the customer satisfaction here? Costco yearly membership is expensive and this is what you get from this employee. I hope the manager of Costco burbank will see my bad review. Please train your employees with good manners and high customer service. Please look at Trader Joes employees, They are all helpful and friendly. Always smile at you and will take care of all your groceries. If I ask for help they go above and beyond, at Costco Burbank if you asked them, they seem annoyed at you.

Yelp
A very solid Costco! They have a good selection of staples, not a ton of variety or unique foods but still everything you would expect! The value of Costco is of course beyond any grocery store even for our family of 2. We go primarily for paper products, cleaning products, eggs, butter and cheese! It is nuts, especially on the weekends. Parking is ample but you may have to walk a bit
