"A big-box warehouse in Kahului with a now-famous giant display table stacked with cookbooks; one photo showed a carved-out rectangle where a particular cookbook had sold out, a visual testament to intense local and mainland demand that even bulk retailers struggled to restock immediately after release." - ByElyse Inamine

This Costco is conveniently located right next to Maui OGG Airport, about 2 miles. I stopped by to stock up on food for my seven-day trip and found a great selection, including plenty of Hawaii-themed chocolates and other local treats. I also filled up my gas tank before returning my rental car. If you're staying in an Airbnb or Vrbo, I highly recommend picking up your food and drinks here, as grocery store prices in Maui tend to be a bit higher compared to Costco. There's also plenty of parking available.

Google
Lots of Hawaiian themed items at this Costco, but we came for the cheapest lunch on Maui, a $1.50 hotdog. Never disappoints! Goes great with a check bake. Crazy price on Wagyu steaks! Too rich for my blood!

Google
Currently writing from the Costco wifi. It’s top tier. The food court is very nice; the tables are outside but covered, giving a nice breeze but still blocking the sun and providing shade. A average but nice Costco.

Got so much good stuff I'm sure everyone knows Costco The place you have to go

Costco in Maui was simply the best. Great products. Lots of Hawaiian snacks.

Google
One of the largest Costco locations I've seen. Very clean. We were told that oddly enough, this is the only Costco location where you have to be a member to use the deli for the $1.50 hotdog and soda. And yes, they scanned our membership before we were allowed to order. Still the same delicious hotdog as the mainland.

First visit to a Us costco was in Maui & I love to see the differences in types of food sold here Do LOVE the testing of samples.. Never heard of Apple pears here in the UK Sooooooooo Tasty

Google
A typical Costco layout. Fresh produce section was closed. Very frustrating but checkout and staff was friendly. Get all you need and more

Yelp
Let's get straight to it: THE POKE. That creamy wasabi ahi poke? That shoyu-spiced buttery magic? Life-changing. I would fight a sea god for another bite. It's so good it made me question everything I thought I knew about warehouse dining. It's fresh, flavorful, and cheaper than therapy. Sure, it's a little chaotic--it's Costco. The parking lot is a war zone. You will absolutely have to dodge a rogue cart or an uncle buying 5 gallons of mayonnaise. But once you get your hands on that poke container? Inner peace. Pure joy. Instant aloha. Pro tip: grab a fork and eat it in your rental car with the AC blasting and a La Croix from the cooler. No regrets. Only vibes.

Yelp
The Costco is really cool with a lot of covered parking everywhere which makes sense for us a place so hot. The Costco layout reminds a lot of Home, but just with a lot of cooler things. Lots and lots of souvenir stuff people typically bring back from Hawaii are very good prices compared to other markets nearby.

Yelp
This is the only Costco on the island, and close to the airport. We stopped by here to stock up for the week, and it's a great place to stock up on water, snacks and also buy any gifts for yourself or others. There are plenty of Hawaiian snacks you can pick from! They also have great selection of Hawaiian shirts and sarongs if you didn't pack one, along with flip flops, and other things. Don't forget to grab your reed friendly sunscreen here too, it gets pricey in other places!
google avatar

Tris W.

Yelp
It was packed today but we went later than usual and on a Saturday too. We rarely go but we needed some essentials. They had demos which was great. A lot of prices have gone up as usual. Ground pork was $2.99/lb, ground beef was $4.99/lb i think, eggs are $5 something for the 18 pack. There's a little section with some halloween decorations out and the usual beach stuff, toys etc. Found some great deals though. Parking was chaotic as usual. The employees are always so pleasant though and fast. Its our only costco on the island so it's not like we can choose between several. Kudos to the hardworking Costco employees for having to deal with all kinds of customers.

Yelp
It's a Costco so there's not much to say besides the fact that if you are a tourist you should definitely plan on stopping by this Costco before heading to your hotel.... or make a Costco run shortly after you check in. They have a lot of Hawaii exclusive snacks that you can't get at the mainland Costcos. I love getting the giant bag of Ono shrimp chips. Drop by to stock up on snacks and drinks for your entire vacation.

Yelp
Cool Costco! We were happy to find some Hawaiian candies, cookies and macadamia chocolates. They perfectly worked as souvenirs as we came to visit Maui. Also good choice of fresh fruits. There is no sushi tho. They only carry sashimi.

Yelp
My favorite store on earth, will always have a place in my heart. My wife has to drag me out

Yelp
Great Costco. We landed in Maui and went straight from the airport to Costco to get some groceries and more importantly, beer to stock up our condo for the week. As with any Costco anywhere, the aisles were clearly marked. Prices clearly posted and shelves fully stocked. We found some unique to Hawaii items too, which was cool. They had Maui Brewing Bikini Blonde by the case for cheap! Yay for me!
google avatar

Yelp
Place is crazy busy. Only Costco on the island. Residents and visitors who just landed pack this place. Highlights: -Two sections of local Hawaiian delight (snacks, fruit, etc) - they also carry most of the items you buy at your local Costco - they sell beach towels, snorkeling sets (but only had small/ medium at the time) and other things you may need for adventuring - two huge racks of $20 aloha shirts. My teenage kids each got one. Great designs and comfortable - unique / local food options across the store. If you are lucky, get the Guava Sweet Roll or Guava cheesecake if they are being made that day There is also a lot of food trucks across the parking lot from the entrance. Worth the trip - but be ready for the crowds.

Yelp
Great Costco! Has ALL your Hawaiian vacation needs at great prices! Coolers, swimsuits, towels, water toys, Honolulu Cookie Company, macadamia nuts (& chocolates) & large bottles of Mai Tai's along with all the regular Costco items! A Maui MUST STOP!!

Yelp
At the Maui Costco, we always like to get our Hawaiian gold custom-made jewelry here... Substantially discounted from the regulator touristy stores. Of course the savings are huge

Yelp
First thing off the plane in Maui we always head to Costco. It's close to the airport and you can get most things closer to mainland prices versus in town. We stock up on water, drinks, and food for the kids. I Do want to note that this is the busiest Costco that I have ever been to. It's a huge facility and it can get very crowded. If you can walk, I recommend parking in the back. If you try to park in the front in the first few rows you may get stuck. It took us 20 minutes to get out of a logjam there once. Now we just park in the back near the gas station and it's much easier to get in and out of there.

Yelp
Best place on the island to get bulk Maui treats for the journey home or to enjoy while exploring. Gas is also usually the cheapest here on the entire island so fill up when you're around.

Yelp
Very nice Costco. Has everything you could want for souvenirs or just for groceries. Fast checkout lanes.

Yelp
I love Costco. I love Maui Costco. Our fridge at our condo is filled with goodies you can only get here and it feels great. Also, prices (on certain items)(Vodka specifically) is amazing. The pizza was also consistent and enjoyed my visit, even after a long day of traveling.
google avatar

Yelp
I'm not a fan of reviewing these kind of business but I would love to give this one because the staffs were really helpful and attentive, I love their personalities. There are also a lot of selections such as Hawaiian foods and desserts. Something you can't find in a regular costco.

Yelp
Almost every article or TikTok I saw before traveling to Maui suggested making a stop at this Costco right after you land. I'm a follower so I did just that. Getting here was super convenient and close from where we picked up our rental. I've never seen a Costco with so much covered parking! We came for essentials for the week, but we also were curious to see what a Costco in Hawaii looks like. The first thing we needed and found right away was Hawaii friendly sun block. It was right there as we walked in. This Costco was set up a little different than back home, mainly because it was smaller, but the general layout was the same. We checked out the bakery and picked up guava Danishes because we definitely don't get that at home. We did not plan on doing any cooking, but the fresh seafood selection almost made us change our mind. We were also thought the fruit selection was great compared to back home. Snacks wise, we found lots of new to us items that we picked up for the week. Definitely make this your first stop when arriving in Maui. The further in you go, the higher the prices are.

Felix A.

Yelp
This location started out great with the selection and location, but we had a terrible experience with a supervisor named Denise. We were checking out and bought some alcohol. She didn't believe that I was actually over 21, so she ripped the receipt out of my hand and demanded to see my ID. She then rudely and very audibly yelled at the cashier checking us out. While I went to retrieve my ID, she refused to let my friends use their gift card and told them "I don't know how it works where you're from, but here it doesn't work like that." She was very mean because I think she perceived that we weren't locals. If you're going to work at the only Costco on Maui, you should be prepared to meet tourists with respect. We will not be going back to this Costco, or any Costco, in the future until this is resolved. My complaints are being escalated to corporate.

Yelp
Maui Costco is the largest location I have ever visited! They have everything! They had a lot of great deals I managed to save $20 plus shipping on a cool Lego set Amazon can't beat that! Customer service was fast and friendly. One employee even thanked me for sharing the info about the legos they're going to get a set too!
google avatar

Sue S.

Yelp
IMHO Who doesn't love going to Costco, especially in Maui!!! They have many of the same staples in my area Costcos, but also offer many regional Hawaiian items. You can get beach gear, Hawaiian shirts and muumuus, poke, taro chips, macadamia nut chocolates, etc. We got sashimi, sweet potato & taro chips, a whiskey sampler, and a pretty beach lounge dress, among a few other things. And don't forget to refill your car rental here at the gas station!
google avatar

Kevin K.

Yelp
It's pretty cool visiting a Costco on the other side of the world. Much is the same, but then of course I noticed a lot different as far as the offerings go. I also think it's quite cool that the food court is actually outside. This is a really cool unique touch, that's only possible in a climate like Hawaii.
google avatar

Veronica A.

Yelp
The Costco was amazing! Had plenty of stuff to choose from that can only be found in Hawaii. Their sushi selection was unmatched. It was also very tasty! Gas is definitely lower than anywhere else!

Yelp
Adding additional thoughts and recommendations, but everyone's reviews are so on par. This is a vacation staple when staying in Maui. Not only is the Costco right by the airport but it's awesome to get all your vacations snacks, breakfasts, and vacation essentials. Our favorite deals to get here are the Aloha drinks, we always go through these and they are so much cheaper here. Also if you are looking to get your chocolate covered macadamia nuts for yourself, or souvenirs get them here. They have such a good deal and you get 12! You can also grab your salted macadamia nuts and the Honolulu cookie company here as well. We also grabbed the Costco waters for 8 days and it was perfectly quantity for a family of 3. The new item we tried out was the tempura shrimp tacos, so yummy and it was simple to warm up and get crispy. Pineapple is SO great and easy to get here. If you are looking for quick and easy breakfast, look into their muffins and bagels. Lastly, they have great wine deals and if you have a little kitchenette this is perfect. Have a great trip to Maui and don't forget to get your essentials here!

Yelp
Thank you, Costco for helping us stretch our dollars while they're being eaten up by inflation. We can't hardly pass the rotisserie chickens without taking one away. The flavor is terrific and the $4.99 price is like a gift from Santa. I always try to thank the people who tend to the birds. They deserve some Aloha because it's hard to serve up those delicious chickens without sampling them. We also picked up an apple pie. It's huge and fantastic. If you have a frozen sara lee in the fridge, toss it to make room for one of these pies. Stop by the deli for a hot dog & soda. Just $1.50 with mustard & relish. Can't beat that price. Got gas for the Maui Cruiser. The price was 70 cents lower than the other gas stations. If that doesn't bring you into the group of loyal customers, it's because you have Daddy's credit card. That's Top Tier gas, by the way.

Yelp
The Costco in Maui is a busy place. #1 busiest Costco. They have everything we needed. All the lines are open at the checkout and the employees are always friendly. The prices are pretty comparable to the mainland. They also have the gasoline or back. There is a back road from the pumps to the airport we found out. That was a gem to find that We live going over there and hitting the Costco first thing!!
google avatar

Liz S.

Yelp
If you have access to a kitchen or a wet bar while staying in Maui, Costco is a great first stop to stock up in food for the family. It is conveniently located near the airport and also has a gas station to fuel up when returning your rental car. Also a wonderful place to purchase unique Hawaiian treats to take home after a lovely vacation. I took lots of pics during my August 2024 trip for you to peruse. Mahalo!

Yelp
This Costco is great!! Mainland prices! Gas was $1/gallon less! Stop on your way to your resort/hotel/AirBnB - grab snacks, drinks, towels etc and SAVE. Pro tip - get anything macadamia nuts to take home! Literally 25% of prices at the airport and so delicious! Costco FOREVER
google avatar

Jenny L.

Yelp
Love Costco! Great location: so close to the airport Price: mostly same as mainland Products: you can buy souvenirs (cookies, chocolates, coffee) and Hawaiian juices here! Gas station: cheaper as always * food trucks are literally a block away If you are a Costco member, I will recommend a quick stop by before heading to your accommodation. ( Costco is the closest spot near airport for grocery shopping among Safeway, Foodland, Whole Foods Market, Walmart and Target.)
google avatar

Marie V.

Yelp
We love Shopping at Costco, and we usually visit a local Costco when we're traveling as sometimes they carry items for the local residents. This Costco has some the items good for tourists to buy food to take home such as local nut, candies and cookies. I also love their flower section. They had some beautiful leis for graduation season.

Yelp
I have been looking forward to this Costco in Maui for the longest time, and it did not disappoint! Lots of Hawaiian food at this location, including poke, coconut shrimp, kimchi, pork lau lau, kalua pork, and açaí fruit smoothies. Also don't forget the samples: I got to try out fish sticks, gyoza, the Hawaiian sweet rolls with a tuna and mayo spread, and even Haagen Dazs ice cream. The food court is similar to the ones on the mainland, so I got the obligatory $1.50 hot dog (with free refills of drinks). But, right across from Costco there are these food trucks that a Costco employee highly recommends, so try some of those places out if you have the appetite.

Yelp
I shop here all the time as I live on island full time, I also shop at Costco on the mainland and sometimes overseas. I always make sure I turn the barcodes up to make life easier for the cashier and easy scanning (I used to be one). Today the lady assisting the cashier decided it wasn't good enough and slammed my groceries onto the conveyor belt and around the cart and made sure they were all turned over so the barcode wasn't scannable. All my hard work and kindness gone to waste! She was rude and just bloody minded. Plus my groceries were smashed. Luckily the eggs were OK, especially at the price they are in the current shortage. My dog lamb treats were broken up into bits and the chocolate broken off my candy :( I don't know why she had to do this but it made me really mad!!!!!!!! I tried to be helpful and kind and got slapped in the face. I will avoid this woman in future and make sure I don't end up at her aisle for cashing out. She had her name badge turned over so unreadable but I will remember her unfriendly face.

Yelp
A must do once you land before you go to your Airbnb! Eating out in Hawaii can be quite expensive, so our first stop was Maui's one and only Costco. This place is conveniently close to the airport, so make sure to come here once you land. We loaded up on the following: Poke (this is near the salmon), siopao, spam, lau lau pork, char broiled pork, kalua shredded pork, freshly cut papaya, eggs, poi, kings hawaiian rolls, and steamed white rice bowls. These items are easy to make. We, of course, got POG juice, water bottles, and Mai Tai mix. All of this lasted for 5 days for 6 people and there were still leftovers! Food was delicious and eating in allowed us to enjoy our Airbnb's lanai to the fullest!
google avatar

Yelp
A must first stop after arriving to load up on snacks and beverages! Great selection on Maui chips, macadamia nuts, jerky, muffins, chip and dip. Lots of clothing choices like rash guard, shirts and swimsuits.

Yelp
We are not members but we came to help a friend get ready for a party. She needs a lot of food. Meat and lasagna frozen. This is the best bargain going if you can afford bulk amounts.

Yelp
I love Costco, have never had any problems until today when I attempted to enter my Maui Costco store. A female employee stopped me and said I couldn't come in wearing what I was wearing. I was wearing long linen pants and a sports bra/tank with approximately 2" of midriff exposed. At that same moment, another woman wearing a sports bra/tank and long pants walked through no problem. I asked the woman what the concern was and she couldn't specifically verbalize what was wrong with this member's (my) clothing. I wasn't happy, but blessed her and walked away from the entrance at which time she shouted something to me in Portuguese (I'm guessing she's Portuguese Hawaiian). I called customer service at the Maui store and they proceeded to let me know there was a concern about the midriff exposure due to there being many pallets. If that's the case - since there's pallets on the floor and approximately at eye/head level - why aren't they enforcing closed toe shoes and hats so customers don't bump our heads and toes? I usually wear the same outfits over and over - including what I had on today to this Costco and it's never been a problem.

Yelp
I've been to many Costcos but not on the Islands. I totally enjoyed finding treats that I couldn't get in California for a good price. I got so much stuff. lol My favorite was the taro chips. The challenge was having to hand carry them in a bag.
google avatar

Amy Y.

Yelp
This costco can be very busy with a very crowded parking lot. The best time to go would be after 6.30pm then it mellows out and so does the heat. Amazing selection of fun exciting items that aren't seen in California. The self check out is very efficient with multiple staff members assisting with the flow.
google avatar

Henry T.

Yelp
One of the most convenient Costco locations as it is right outside the airport as you drive out. This is a perfect stop after landing to pick up necessities for your time in Maui including any snorkel/swim gear you may need or have forgotten along with snacks/drinks to cover your time on the island. All the Hawaiian snacks were right near the front so you could easily peruse them without needing to head further back in the store. You should also plan to get gas here as it's significantly cheaper than the local gas stations, even more so than on the mainland. Just from quick comparison on this trip, it was about $0.70-0.80 less per gallon. As with most Costco's, the line for gas can vary through the day, so just make sure to give yourself time if you need to refill before returning your rental car.
google avatar

Matthew W.

Yelp
I didn't know there was a Costco in Maui (always though the one in Oahu was the only Costco in Hawaii), so it was a pleasant surprise to see. I thought it'd be pretty exotic, but it's almost exactly like a mainland Costco except with pineapples and overpriced poke (which you can buy for far cheaper at Foodland). I'm also saying this for anyone who needs it. YOU DON'T NEED WHATEVER YOU'RE BUYING. That being said, it's a Costco, so we bought a ton of stuff for our 5 day Airbnb trip. You do you, lol.
google avatar

Jingyan Y.

Yelp
I am passionate about Costco and our trip to Maui was not complete without a trip here! I could go on and on but they offered the same merchandise as the states at near the same prices (hello $5 rotisserie) but also offered many specific items that we cannot find in the states such as dried fish, Hawaiian shirts, and lots of macadamias and shortbread cookie goodies. They also have fresh poke which was really good and they sell it by the pound. They sell the cheapest gas and is right next to the airport, perfect for filling up the rental car. Definitely recommend getting souvenirs here!
google avatar

Bruski N.

Yelp
This Costco (next to the airport) is our go-to place to load up the minute our plane landed in Maui. The location is convenient and has everything and more to feed a large party and keep everyone happy. We just love the fresh seafood section. Only in Maui, you can get fresh Opal, Ono, or Mahi Mahi that no other place can match. Also, they have great alcohol and Asian food sections where you can get tasty grilled shredded squid snacks or food like Korean rice cake soup instant miso soup, etc. This Costco Maui is packed all the time. Parking can be a little crazy but you save a lot by shopping here before going to your hotels, Airbnb, or resorts, and have to pay the high restaurant or bar prices.

Yelp
Convenient location by OGG [Maui] Only a little over a mile away from the Kahului Airport (4-min drive), we went straight here after we picked up our rental car. As always at any Costco finding parking is always a challenge especially arriving on a weekend. We picked up a case of Aloha Maid Juice fruit drinks that should last us for the week and lots of snacks to bring home. They have a good selection of local Hawaiian treats aside from the popular chocolate covered macadamia nuts. Of course, since it was lunch time we grabbed a few samples too while navigating in the aisles. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ For a Sunday afternoon the inside wasn't as chaotic as ours in Roseville. Done! Took care of kids, work and family. Of course, with all these snacks we'd have to bust out our second luggage which I also packed inside our one luggage LoL! Review #2688

Yelp
Oh Yelp, how I love to hate you. My original review of Costco and subsequent updates from over 10 years ago got erased, with my review of their food court merging with the warehouse page and replacing them all. So, here we go with a single, brand new review for 2022. PRE-1995: Locals will remember Maui's first warehouse store, Cost U Less, which was located in the Kahului Industrial Park. The tiny store had some items sold in bulk though the overall selection was very limited. They held on for a while but eventually closed. If you want to take a trip down memory lane, they're still open on in Hilo on Hawaii Island where Costco isn't present. THE WAREHOUSE: Since opening in 1995, it's still Maui's sole location and therefore is extremely busy. They expanded their footprint a few years ago with a slight bump-out that added square footage to the retail space and loading dock areas, renovated the tire shop, added tons more parking stalls, relocated the food court (to the outside) and a finally added a gas station (2012) though the car wash was axed. The photo department closed and they've added self-checkout lanes, both a sign of the times. HAWAII EXCLUSIVES: I'm pretty sure you won't find fresh flower leis and macadamia nuts anywhere else besides the 808 state. PROS & CONS: Great prices most of the time and they introduce you to new brands and products. But, they'll more than likely stop selling those new brands and products they introduced to you, which is my biggest pet peeve. PRICE CODES: Yes, there are meanings to the cents part of product pricing! .99 = full priced items .49 and .79 = manufacturer's offer/trial-run products .97 = local store deals/discount .00 = clearance items * = the deadly asterisk means it won't be restocked OVERALL: American gluttony at its finest.

Yelp
Great Costco! If we needed more for our trip, we would have gotten supplies here. Super close to the airport and the parking is spacious (not always the case on the island). They even have the rotisserie chicken still for $4.99 - a steal especially compared to prices elsewhere. They also have the cheapest gas on the island - recommend it if you need to fill up a rental car before return. Plenty of the other Costco staples you know and love.

Armand L.

Yelp
The people that have issues with Costco is because they are difficult. I have always been treated well, they are friendly , helpful and supportive with questions. I shop here all The time.

Edward O.

Yelp
The food court pizzas are getting bad. Second time this year we ordered 4-6 whole pizzas for a party. Second time the pizzas were underwhelming. Dry and less and less cheese and sauce. I'd rather pay more and get a great pizza with sauce, cheese and toppings that are generously on the pie.
google avatar

Keith A.

Yelp
Costco is very close the airport and also has a gas station. Prices are best around too. Costco had pretty much same stuff as CA except for some fruits were missing and a few of the pre-packaged meals were different foods than in CA. Prices of some of the foods were more expensive than CA, assume because the food it shipped in. Definitely a good place to stock up on the basics you will need for your visit and some better deals than the local grocery stores. Parking lot is kind of a hassle with the layout and the crazy and impatient drivers but other than that pretty normal Costco experience. Great food trucks across the street too.

Yelp
Best customer service, my online card was having problems when scanning, no questions asked, they just updated the system and let me go through the register with no issues. Want to buy more locally specific items but no sampling available, so I have to risk it, and yes some items I bought tasted awful. See my photos
