We are currently Sam's club members but since our membership was about to be renewed, I wanted to check out Costco before staying with Sam's. I spoke with one of the ladies at the service desk if we could look around before making a decision. I assumed she would just say "yes" but I have to say, she walked me around a bit and talked to me about the benefits of having a Costco membership. (More than I expected and was very appreciative of her going above and beyond).
First off, Costco membership starts at $60, Sam's was $45.
With that said, I personally wasn't overly impressed with Costco. I mean, their prices were nearly the same as Sam's club. (The lady I spoke to said the prices BEAT Sam's club. Unfortunately, she was mistaken. I found a few products that were identical at Sam's club for LESS.)
Our family eats mostly whole, unprocessed foods: meats, veggies, fruits, eggs... I noticed more PRODUCTS at Costco. For instance, lots of "keto" products: keto snacks, keto candies, keto cereal, keto this and keto that. Well, unfortunately we have no use for any of those. Maybe other people do. We'd stick to the meat and produce sections and the prices there didn't seem that great.
We wandered around the non-food aisles and again, I wasn't overly impressed with their "low" prices. Didn't seem like amazing deals.
Maybe I came at the wrong time... inflation is out of control right now and prices are up everywhere.
So for now, I'm still giving 3-stars because I'm sure all these products are great for other families. There is a great variety... unfortunately, not helpful for us.
